    This article is concerned with the presence of sounds and phonic rituals in the tradition of commemoration. Commemoration expressed by sounds is a particularly vivid and full of expression experience of memory. In phonic commemoration rituals sound experience seems to be as essential as time experience. Direct reception and perception of sound is connected with a particular, specific moment in time. There are many kinds of sound experience that are present in various forms of commemoration rituals. Musical phenomena (such as songs, bugle calls, hymns), but also sound phenomena (for example bells, sirens) as well as silence can be pointed out here. The principal part of the presented article contains a discussion of some of these phenomena within the context of contemporary Polish tradition of remembrance. In this context, those forms of commemoration that are associated with national martyrdom, wars and uprisings, merit special attention.

    Opis:
    In this article the author argues that Route of Don Quixote is a mnemotope, which allows to examine the relations betwen landscape, literary trails and collective memory. The author suggests that the Mancha’s landscape can be considered as the first in the history of Western culture and this fact should be connected with the values of the Spanish community. Noticing that the Route of Don Quixote is the mnemotope clarifies why it was the first European Cultural Itinerary constructed on a literary figure, explains the political usage of the figure of Don Quixote, the reasons for passionate discussions on how to commemorate cervantine anniversaries or dispute about the true knight-errant wandering route. The author explores some of the contemporary cervantine place of memory (the date of III and IV Centenary of the edition of the first part of the novel, the famous Azorín’s journey, Quixotic street names, „true” novelistic places, landscape with windmills). The author characterizes various communities of memory (exiliados, readers, cervantists),that used the figure of Quixote. The author asks whether traveling in search of the knight’s footsteps is drifting the physical space or rather an imitation of his actions. From the perspective of memory research there are multiple routes of Don Quixote, because in different communities are cultivated different memories of true knight’s route. Using the Halbwachs’ concept the author shows the importance of location of Don Quixote’s adventures. Pondering the meaning of „death of cervantine landscape” the author concludes that the literary vision of The Mancha, „holy landscape” in which the community reaffirms its value, still exists.

    Autorka prezentuje film w reżyserii Pawła Łozińskiego pt. Miejsce urodzenia (1992) w kategoriach wielowymiarowego miejsca pamięci, które to, jako swego rodzaju praca dokonywana na materiale przeszłości, z definicji ma charakter obiektu w działaniu, performatywu. Omawia film wykorzystując koncepcje afektu, kultury traumy oraz autorstwa kolaboratywnego. Film jawi się jako: komparatystyczne miejsce pamięci, archiwum, katalizator doświadczenia traumatycznego, translator traumy, performatyw przekształcający nie-miejsce pamięci w mnemotopos – w zależności od perspektywy/statusu instancji autorskiej.
    The author presents the film directed by Paweł Łoziński, Place of Birth (Miejsce Urodzenia, 1992), in the categories of a multidimensional memory place, which, as a sort of work done on the material of the past, can be characterized by definition as an object in action, a performative. She describes the movie using the concepts of affect, trauma culture and collaborative authorship. The movie is presented as: a comparative place of memory, an archive, trauma experience catalyst, trauma translator, a performative shaping a non-memory place into a mnemotopos – depending on the perspective/status of the author instance.

    W tekście uzasadniana jest teza, że wyobrażenie skarbu, rozumianego jako różnego rodzaju ukryte rzeczy (nie zawsze o znaczącej materialnej wartości), można uznać za jeden z mnemotoposów, w znaczeniu jakie nadał temu pojęciu Stefan Bednarek, mieszkańców Dolnego Śląska. Skarb, zdaniem autorki, jest toposem pamięci komunikacyjnej Dolnoślązaków. Jest również obecny w wymiarze fundacyjnym (kulturowym – J. Assmann) pamięci zbiorowej tej społeczności. Skarb buduje pomost między pamięcią komunikacyjną Dolnoślązaków a pamięcią kulturową dawnych mieszkańców tego regionu.
    The article argues that the concept of treasure, perceived as various kinds of hidden things (not always of much financial value), can be recognized as one of mnemotoposes, following the meaning attributed to this term by Stefan Bednarek, of the inhabitants of Lower Silesia. Treasure, in my opinion, is a topos of the communicative memory of the people living in the region. It is also present at the founding level (cultural – J. Assmann) of the collective memory of the community. Treasure bridges the gap between the communicative memory of the people inhabiting Lower Silesia at present and the cultural memory of the past inhabitants of the region.
