    Artykuł omawia w szkicowym skrócie charakterystyczne cechy mesjanizmu, obecnego w filozofii Augusta Cieszkowskiego (1814–1894). Najpierw została przyjęta adekwatna definicja tego zjawiska, jakim był mesjanizm, który rozumiany bywał na różne – nawet przeciwstawne – sposoby, np. przez J.M.Hoene-Wrońskiego i Adama Mickiewicza. Następnie przedstawiona została koncepcja Cieszkowskiego, jako rodzaj „mesjanizmu społecznego”, obejmującego ostatecznie społeczność całego świata. W końcu tenże „mesjanizm społeczny” został porównany z „mesjanizmem narodowym” wedle jego rozumienia potocznego, a także tego, które mu nadał sam Cieszkowski.
    The article discusses succinctly the main characteristics of messianism in the philosophy of August Cieszkowski (1814–1894). At first, an adequate definition of the phenomenon called ‘messianism’ is accepted, since the term is understood in different, sometimes contradictory ways, e.g. by J.M. Hoene-Wroński and by A. Mickiewicz. Next Cieszkowski’s conception of ‘social messianism’, ultimately pertaining to the whole world community, is presented. Finally, the ‘social messianism’ is compared to the ‘national messianism’, according to the colloquial understanding of the term, as well as it was understood by Cieszkowski himself.

    For 10 years, Bishop Jerzy Mazur SVD held the responsible position of the Chairman of the Polish Episcopal Commission for Missions. The authors of the article consider his most important initiatives and achievements as Chairman of this Commission. The article is published in two parts. Part 1 begins (Nurt SVD, no. 1, 2021, p. 8-42) with the presentation of the missionary profile of Bishop Jerzy Mazur. Then, the authors discuss his undertakings aimed at strengthening the mission structures and integrating the mission environment in the Church in Poland. They pay attention to mission animation and formation activities as well as mission cooperation with the Pontifical Mission Societies, religious congregations, diocesan mission groups, foundations, Catholic movements and associations supporting missions. Special place is given to the importance of material and spiritual support of missionaries and assistance for projects carried out in missions. In Part 2, the authors, among other items, present Bishop’s initiatives on mission outreach through media, both print and electronic ones. They also mention initiatives regarding the participatory involvement of laity in missionary service. Finally, they consider two most important events for the mission environment in Poland, namely, the 4th National Mission Congress, prepared and conducted by the Bishop, and the Extraordinary Mission Month.

    Opis:
    Museums in Poland are developing dynamically and undergoing intensive transformations. More and more attention is paid to the issues of management, including the ones connected with a missionary role of museums. The concept of a mission is commonly identified with the purposes of museums and the main subject of their activity. The aim of this article is to analyze a mission as an element of strategic management for museums, as well as to identify the scale of the phenomenon of a mission formulated by Polish museums (how many of them have a formulated mission?), and to analyze the content of a mission, mainly with reference to the objectives included in the law on museums. The article discusses the results of the existing data analysis (the websites review and the Public Information Bulletin of museums which are in the database of the National Institute of Museums and Public Collections).

    Niniejszy artykuł jest edycją źródłową fragmentu kroniki domu księży misjonarzy we Lwowie, obejmującego lata 1939-1946. Kronikarz, ks. Stanisław Kałężny, niemal z dzienną dokładnością przybliżył wydarzenia, jakie rozgrywały się na przestrzeni tych lat w Małopolsce Wschodniej, a zwłaszcza we Lwowie. Swoją uwagę skupił przede wszystkim na życiu miejscowej misjonarskiej społeczności zakonnej, problemach związanych z budową kościoła parafialnego p.w. św. Wincentego a Paulo oraz na szeroko rozumianej polityce okupantów: sowieckich i niemieckich. Nie pominął też problemu ratowania Żydów przez księży misjonarzy podczas rządów niemieckich we Lwowie (1941-1944). Dopełnieniem traumatycznych wydarzeń związanych z II wojną światową są obszerne opisy z 1945 i 1946 roku, ukazujące życie miejscowych Polaków, sióstr zakonnych oraz duchowieństwa rzymskokatolickiego, zmuszanych przez Sowietów do opuszczenia miasta i przeniesienia się w granice powstającej Polski Ludowej. Dzięki omawianemu dokumentowi poznajemy nie tylko samą faktografię w układzie chronologicznym, ale także mamy niepowtarzalną okazję towarzyszyć występującym postaciom, śledząc ich osobiste przeżycia oraz poznając ich losy, także powojenne.
    The present article is a source edition of the house chronicle of the Congregation of the Mission in Lvov from the years 1939-1946. The annalist, Fr. Stanisław Kałężny nearly with daily accuracy recorded events which took place at that time in Eastern Lesser Poland (Małopolska) and especially in Lvov. He paid attention mainly to the life of the local Vincentian monastic society, problems connected with building a parish church of St. Vincent de Paul as well as broadly understood policy of the Soviet and German occupants. He did not omit the problem of saving Jews by the Vincentian fathers during the German occupation of Lvov (1941-1944). The traumatic events connected with World War II are accompanied by extensive descriptions from the years 1945 and 1946, showing the life of local people, nuns and Roman Catholic clergy forced by the Soviets to leave the city and move to the newly forming Polish People’s Republic. Thanks to the document in question not only do we get to know the factual material in chronological order but we also have a unique opportunity to accompany the described persons, follow their personal life and history – both in the war and post-war period.

    This is the first sociological study of development of organic farming in Poland, based on interprative paradigm and methodology of grounded theory. The basis of the study form 27 narrative and unstructured interviews with organic farmers from many regions of Poland, direct observation and content analysis of publications on organic farming. The central question is about the essence of organic farming. Is it a profession like any other or a social movement? What are the distinctive factors that can help in differantiating an organic farmer from the 'conventional' one? What factors form the social world of organic farming, what kind of arenas of disputes emerge?

    The author, the rector of the University of Warsaw and the chairperson of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, presents her thoughts on the mission of universities in the 21 st century and attempts to answer the following questions: (a) How can this mission be defined nowadays? (b) What kind of factors will determine whether a university functions well or not? (c) Do universities still have autonomy nowadays? In the finał section of the paper the author presents her own point of view on the current condition of higher education in Poland.

Na przykładzie poznańskiego Radia Emaus analizowano jego misję, sięgając po opracowania leksykograficzne, legislacyjne oraz katolicką naukę społeczną. Program pre-ewangelizacyjny, ewangelizacyjny i konfesyjny stanowi wypełnienie misji stacji, zapisanej w jej statucie. Przedmiotem badań są audycje emitowane od września 2015 do sierpnia 2016 roku Materiał obejmuje wielogodzinne nagrania o tematyce społeczno-religijnej, historycznej i kulturalnej, informujące o obchodach, relacjonujące je oraz podsumowujące.
    The article is an interdisciplinary analysis of how celebration of the 1050th anniversary of Poland’s baptism was presented in the catholic media. Based on the example of Radio Emaus (Poznań), mission of this radio station was scrutinized with the aid of lexicographic and legislative studies as well as catholic social study. Radio Emaus’s pre-evangelizing, evangelizing and confessional program fulfills the station’s mission included in its statute. The objects of the research are radio programs broadcast between September 2015 and August 2016. The radio material embraces long recordings dedicated to such issues as society and religion, history and culture as well as celebrations, their broadcasts and summaries.

    The article presents Lutheran engagement for migrants, using the examples of activities undertaken by the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland, as well as by the Lutheran World Federation, which is the biggest global organisation of Lutheran Churches all over the world. In case of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession the text provides an overview of the initiatives undertaken since 2015 in service to the migrants on the parish and Church levels, as well as in cooperation with ecumenical partners (including the activities within the Polish Ecumenical Council and in cooperation with the Catholic Church). In case of the Lutheran World Federation, the first step was to present the theological justification for the Federation’s engagement in the work for migrants, and the next one — to outline the characteristics of the work of the Department for World Service (Federation’s humanitarian agency) in 2018.
    L’articolo presenta l’impegno luterano nei confronti dei migranti sull’esempio delle attività intraprese dalla Chiesa evangelico-augusta in Polonia, nonché dalla Federazione luterana mondiale, ovvero la più grande organizzazione mondiale di Chiese luterane nel mondo. Relativamente alla Chiesa evangelica di Augusta, nel presente testo si passa in rassegna le iniziative intraprese dal 2015 per servire i migranti a livello parrocchiale e ecclesiale, nonché in collaborazione con i partner ecumenici (anche all’interno del Consiglio ecumenico polacco e in cooperazione con la Chiesa cattolica). Nel caso della Federazione Luterana Mondiale, in una prima fase del discorso, è stata presentata la giustificazione teologica del coinvolgimento della Federazione nel lavoro a favore dei migranti, e nella successiva, si è delineato il lavoro del Dipartimento dei servizi mondiali (agenda umanitaria della Federazione) nel 2018.
    L’article présente l’engagement luthérien en faveur des migrants sur l’exemple des activités entreprises par l’Église évangélique d’Augsbourg en Pologne, ainsi que la Fédération luthérienne mondiale, c’est-à-dire la plus grande organisation mondiale d’Églises luthériennes dans le monde. Dans le cas de l’Église évangélique d’Augsbourg, le texte passe en revue les initiatives entreprises depuis 2015 pour aider les migrants au niveau paroissial et ecclésial, ainsi qu’en coopération avec des partenaires oecuméniques (y compris au sein du Conseil oecuménique polonais et de la coopération avec l’Église catholique). En ce qui concerne la Fédération luthérienne mondiale, dans un premier temps, le ette a présenté la justification théologique de l’engagement de la Fédération dans le travail en faveur des migrants, et dans un second temps, on a décrit le travail du Département des services mondiaux (agenda humanitaire de la Fédération) en 2018.

    The article refers to the troubled history of the Union of Polish Booksellers, one of the most important professional organizations in the history of Polish books. Its establishment in 1908 was a breakthrough in the history of Polish bookselling' organisations. It influenced significantly standarisation of bookselling the time of its functioning (1908-1950). However, it has not received its complete monography so far. This text presents fundamental facts until 1945, to discuss the Union's mission. Apart from stricte professional matters, regarding regulations of trading operations and relations with the publishers, lobbing at state authorities, education and trainings, they referred also to national, cultural, and social obligations of the booksellers. Motivations for these activities came from the confidence of professional elites in a unique significance of a book for Polish matters, as well as from an emotional attitudes towards editions, going well beyond business pragmatics.

    W artykule zaprezentowano proces nawiązywania stosunków dyplomatycznych między Polską a Norwegią po zakończeniu II wojny światowej, co trwało od sierpnia 1945 roku do kwietnia 1946 roku. Artykuł składa się z dwóch zasadniczych części. W pierwszej części przedstawiono wysiłki polskiego rządu emigracyjnego w Londynie zmierzające do utrzymania polskiej placówki dyplomatycznej w swych rękach. Następnie omówiono rozległe działania płk. Tadeusza Tokarza, attaché ds. militarnych Poselstwa RP, akredytowanego przy rządzie norweskim na emigracji w Londynie, związane z różnorodną pomocą dla kilku tysięcy Polaków zgromadzonych w obozach repatriacyjnych na terenie Norwegii, głównie w Moss i Mysen. Na zakończenie tej części wyjaśniono w jaki sposób i dlaczego polskie poselstwo w Oslo zostało przejęte 6 kwietnia 1946 roku przez komunistycznego przedstawiciela Tymczasowego Rządu Jedności Narodowej w Warszawie – Mieczysława Rogalskiego. Opisano także jego pierwsze kontakty dyplomatyczne z władzami norweskimi. W drugiej części szczególną wagę przywiązano do pokazania działań rządu norweskiego, którego zadaniem było, możliwie jak najszybciej, utworzenie własnego przedstawicielstwa dyplomatycznego w Warszawie. Sedno tej części artykułu stanowi centralna rola, jaką odegrał norweski ambasador w Moskwie Rolf Otto Andvord, podczas swej dwumiesięcznej misji w Polsce związanej ze sprawami handlowymi i dyplomatycznymi (08.–09.1945 r.). Jego zadanie związane było z dwoma konkretnymi kwestiami – podpisaniem umowy z polskimi władzami na szybką dostawę węgla do Norwegii oraz nawiązaniem szybkich i dobrych stosunków dyplomatycznych z Polską. Podkreślono też znaczenie tego, że udało mu się zapewnić 3-pokojowe lokum dla Poselstwa Norwegii w Hotelu Polonia. W końcowej części artykułu zaprezentowano krótki biogram norweskiego posła Alfreda Danielsena, który przybył do Warszawy 12 listopada 1945 roku oraz opisano jego pierwsze dyplomatyczne działania i kontakty z polskimi władzami.
    The article depicts the process of establishing diplomatic relations between Poland and Norway after the end of the Second World War, which started in August 1945 and ended in April 1946. The article is composed of two basic parts. The first part describes the efforts of the Polish Government in Exile to maintain the Polish diplomatic mission. Next it presents the activities of Colonel Tadeusz Tokarz, military attaché of the Mission of the Republic of Poland, accredited to the Norwegian Government in Exile in London, concerning the varied assistance for several thousand Poles gathered in repatriation camps, mainly in Moss and Mysen. At the end of the first part the author explains how and why the Polish Mission in Oslo was taken over on April 6, 1946 by Mieczysław Rogalski, the Communist representative of the Temporary Government of National Unity in Warsaw. He describes the first diplomatic contacts with the Norwegian authorities. In the second part a special attention was paid to the presentation of the endeavours of the Norwegian Government aimed at establishing – as soon as possible – their own diplomatic mission in Warsaw. The description concentrates on the central role played by Rolf Otto Andvord, the Norwegian Ambassador in Moscow, during his two-month mission in Poland concerning commercial and diplomatic matters. The mission took place in August and September 1945. Andvord was charged with two tasks: to sign a contract with the Polish authorities for a fast delivery of coal to Norway and to establish fast and good diplomatic relations with Poland. It has been emphasised that Andvord was provided with a threeroomed accommodation for the Norwegian Mission at the ‘Polonia’ Hotel. At the end of the article there is a short life history of Envoy Alfred Danielsen, who arrived in Warsaw on November 12, 1945, and a description of his first diplomatic activities and contacts with the Polish authorities.
