    This work presents the selected aspects of a technological concept for the production of organic and mineral fertilizers from communal sludge stabilized with volatile ash, by using two methods of granulation: coating and pressure. The presented concept is the effect of optimization, taking into account an interference of a number of factors exerted onto the fertilizing values and the mechanical strength of the final products. The fertilizers (contain ash from brown coal) obtained according to that method are characterized by a sufficient (according to law) content of organic matter (35,73% w/w), total nitrogen (1,70% w/w), phosphorus P2 O5 (3,62% w/w) and after the modification, also potassium K2O (8,43% w/w). The mechanical properties are better for the granulates, prepared by using pressure granulation (15,1 kG/cm2) and allow for their transportation, storage and application.

    Resource safety of agricultural production is investigated as the main condition. Its dominant registers are land resources and fertility of soil. The bearing-out of nutritives is analyzed from soil together with the harvest of agricultural cultures. It shall be underlined that for providing maintenance of areas and fertility, it is crucial to maintain a balance between the bearing-out of nutritives from soil with the harvest of agricultural cultures and compensative bringing. The major directions of maintenance of the resource providing agricultural production are the following: increase of bringing of organic fertilizers, optimization of the structure of croplands, strengthening the responsibility of land users, development of ecological culture.

    Opis:
    The rate of release of macronutrients from new granulated organic-mineral fertilizers formed from spent mushroom substrate was investigated in the conditions of a microplot experiment in the laboratory. Nitrate(V) and ammonium were estimated using a colorimetric method using a flow auto-analyzer after extraction in 1% solution K2SO4 and in 0.01 mol · dm - 3 CaCl2, pH-value – by potentiometric method after extraction with 1 mol·dm - 3 KCl, available P and K by the Egner-Riehm method. New granulated organic-mineral fertilizers formed from spent mushroom substrate had an impact on the pH-value seven days after application. This tendency was intensified in the following weeks. New granulated organic-mineral fertilizers were a source of available form of nitrogen (nitrate(V), ammonium), potassium and phosphorus.

    Spent Mushroom Substrate (SMS) were used to formed granulated organic-mineral fertilizers. Four granulated organic-mineral fertilizers were formed from Spent Mushroom Compost (SMC) before granulation supplemented by mineral fertilizers (urea, single superphosphate, K salt, ammonium saltpeter, ammonium sulfate). Two granulated organic-mineral fertilizers were based on compost from Spent Mushroom Compost and sewage sludge and one of them was supplemented by ammonium sulfate before granulation. The pH-value of the fertilizers range from 6.17 to 6.94. Fertilizers and composted Spent Mushroom Substrate are using on two doses on account of applied nitrogen content, these doses are 100 and 200 kg N ha-1. 10 fertilizers combinations on four replications are used in experiment. These organic-mineral fertilizers were applied just before planting first test plant – common cabbage. Second test plant – corn and third test plant – oat were grown without fertilization in these same vases-ground. Organic-mineral fertilizers are excellent source of macronutrients (22.0-83.0 g N∙ kg-1, 6.70-18.50 g P∙ kg-1, 2.70-27.0 g K∙ kg-1, 41.1-71.3 g Ca∙ kg-1, 3.1-4.3 g Mg kg-1, 18.7-101.6 g S∙ kg-1) and organic matter (182.8-411.3 g Corg ∙ kg-1). After application the residual effect on pH of soil was observed. The soil pH-value on every object with fertilization was changed compare to control object without fertilization. Increased pH-value first year (5.35-5.92), second year (4.71-5.19) and third year (4.28-4.71). After harvest were collected samples of soil, prepared to physical and chemical analyses and estimated pH-value of soil. Statgraphics 4.0. program was using to statistic data processing of the results.

    Przeprowadzone badania miały na celu określenie możliwości wykorzystania niektórych odpadów komunalnych i przemysłowych do wytworzenia granulowanych nawozów organiczno-mineralnych. Wzięto pod uwagę komunalne osady ściekowe oraz popioły z węgla brunatnego i biomasy roślinnej. W odpadach tych oznaczono zawartości składników pokarmowych dla roślin oraz zanieczyszczenia niektórymi metalami ciężkimi. Komunalne osady ściekowe dodatkowo poddano badaniom mikrobiologicznym mającym na celu określenie występowania w nich drobnoustrojów chorobotwórczych (bakterie z rodzaju Salmonella oraz przewodu pokarmowego). Rezultaty badań wskazały, że omówione odpady można wykorzystać do celów nawozowych. Na podstawie uzyskanych badań opracowano receptury mieszanek nawozowych z odpadów. Mieszanki nawozowe wzbogacono w jednoskładnikowe nawozy mineralne (zawierające azot, fosfor i potas). Poddano je procesowi granulowania stosując różne spoiwa i metody granulacji. Uzyskane rezultaty wskazują, że komunalne osady ściekowe oraz popioły z węgli brunatnych i roślin przeznaczonych na cele energetyczne, a także ze słomy zbożowej, można użyć do produkcji granulowanych nawozów organiczno-mineralnych, zyskując tanie źródło substancji organicznej i składników pokarmowych dla roślin, zwiększając żyzność gleb oraz zmniejszając ilość odpadów w środowisku. Ze względu na zmienność składu chemicznego badanych odpadów, a każda partia ich przed poddaniem procesom przetwarzania na granulowane nawozy organiczno-mineralne powinna być poddana badaniom zgodnie z Rozporządzeniem Ministra Środowiska Dz. U. 10.137.924. Badania chemiczne (zawartość C organicznego, N, P, K) odpadów umożliwią opracowanie receptur składu chemicznego granulowanych nawozów organiczno-mineralnych.
    The conducted studies aimed at determining the possibility of using some municipal and industrial wastes to produce granulated organic-mineral fertilizers. Municipal sewage sludge and ashes from brown coal and plant biomass were taken into consideration. In these wastes, the content of plant nutrients and contamination with some heavy metals were determined. Municipal sewage sludge were additionally analysed microbiologically to determine the pathogenic microbes incidence (bacteria from the genus Salmonella and parasites of the alimentary tract). The results proved that the discussed wastes can be used for the purpose of fertilization. Basing on the obtained results formulas of the fertilizing mixtures obtained from wastes were elaborated. The fertilizing mixtures were enriched with straight mineral fertilizers (containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium). They were granulated using different binding agents and granulation methods. The received results indicate that the municipal sewage sludge and ashes from brown coal and plants intended for energetic purposes, and from cereal straw, can be used to produce granulated organic-mineral fertilizers and plant nutrients, improving soil’s fertility and decreasing the amount of wastes in the environment. Due to the variability of the chemical composition of the studied wastes, their every batch should be examined according to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment (Journal of Laws, 10.137.924) before processing them into the granulated organic mineral fertilizers. The chemical analyses (content of organic C, N, P, K) of the wastes will enable to elaborate formulas of the chemical composition of the granulated organic-mineral fertilizers.

    The aim of the research was evaluation of the possibility to use organic acids solutions for production of fertilizers based on mineral wool waste. This substrate thanks to inert character and good air-water relationship is commonly used in greenhouse industry. Increased production of vegetable in soilless culture due to world’s population growth. However mineral wool after full crop cycle is non-biodegradable – dangerous waste. Possibility of extraction nutrients from this kind of substrate could be solution of that important environmental problem. Before analyses mineral wool waste was grinded on 0.40 mm sieve. Then the extraction process was conducted using 2 % m/m and 10 % m/m citric acid, 2 % m/m and 10 % m/m formic acid, 0.2 % m/m and 2 % m/m acetic acid for 3 and 6 hours at temperature 25 oC. Solid phase before analyses was mineralized. Iron, phosphorus was analyzed using spectrophotometer methods. Iron analysis is based on formation of a coloured ferric ion complex with 2,2’-bipyridyl. Phosphorus analysis is based on formation of molybdenum blue complex. Calcium and magnesium was examined by complexometric titration with EDTA and using Eriochrome Black T as an indicator, while calcium ions concentration was analyzed using calconcarboxylic acid as an indicator. Content of nutrients after extraction from mineral wool waste allows to conclude that obtained liquid phase can be used as a fertilizer component while solid phase can be used in mixed substrate production.
    Ciągle wzrastająca liczba ludności naświecie jest przyczyną zwiększonego zapotrzebowania na żywność, a tym samym konieczne jest zwiększenie poziomu produkcji rolnej. Można osiągnąć większą wydajność zbiorów dzięki zastosowaniu upraw hydroponicznych, które są popularne w hodowli kwiatów ciętych oraz warzyw. Dominującym podłożem w tego typu uprawach jest wełna mineralna, która charakteryzuje się korzystnymi właściwościami powietrzno-wodnymi. Podłoże po uprawie stanowi uciążliwy, nieulegający biodegradacji odpad. Podejmowane są działania mające na celu rozwiązanie tego ekologicznego problemu. Jednym z nich jest wykorzystanie składników mineralnych, takich jak żelazo, fosfor, wapń i magnez, pozostałych po uprawie w podłożu. Przeprowadzono badania mające na celu określić możliwość wykorzystania do ekstrakcji tych składników roztworów kwasów organicznych. Oznaczenie w pśkstrakcyjnych fazach (ciekłej i stałej) zawartości badanych pierwiastków pozwoli na ustalenie optymalnych warunków pozwalających wykorzystać je do uzyskiwania preparatów nawozowych. W otrzymanych próbkach po procesie ekstrakcji trwającej 3 i 6 godzin przy użyciu roztworów kwasów octowego, cytrynowego i mrówkowego zbadano zawartość fosforu, żelaza, wapnia i magnezu. Próbki stałe poddano mineralizacji przed przeprowadzeniem analiz. Oznaczanie fosforu i żelaza wykonano, używając metod spektroskopowych. Badanie zawartości wapnia i magnezu wykonano za pomocą miareczkowania, używając jako titranta roztworu EDTA. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników można stwierdzić, że pśkstrakcyjne fazy ciekłe mogą być wykorzystane przy produkcji preparatów nawozowych, natomiast faza stała może stanowić dodatek poprawiający właściwości podłoży ogrodniczych.

    Understanding of P transformations following organic amendments addition to highly calcareous soils is necessary for developing better management practices that can help enhance P fertilizer use efficiency. Phosphorus solubility and availability for plant uptake under the conditions of arid calcareous soil is very low, making P nutrient supply a critical issue under these conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of various types of organic amendments (chicken compost, cow compost and a mixture of humic-fulvic acid) applied alone at different rates of KH2PO4 fertilizer on P fractions in calcareous soil using the sequential chemical extraction method. Amended calcareous soil was incubated under laboratory conditions and soil samples were collected at 0, 4, 8 and 16 weeks of the incubation periods. Soil was sequentially extracted and analyzed for P different fractions. The results indicated that the addition of chicken and cow compost increased soluble and exchangeable-P and Ca-P fractions in calcareous soil and the increases depend on application rates. The results indicated that combination of chicken and cow compost with different KH2PO4 fertilizer application rates increased the concentration of soluble and exchangeable-P in the soil compared to organic amendments or KH2PO4 fertilizer applied alone. The P associated with Ca was the dominant P fractions in soil, ranging between 51 to 59% regardless of the different treatment and the period of incubations. The Al- and Fe-associated P fractions varied between 2 and 9%, with the maximum value being observed at the eighth week of incubation. The residual-P fraction ranged between 5 and 22% at different incubation periods.

    The possibilities of agricultural utilization of wastes from the phosphorous industry were presented. Wastes from the industrial plant producing phosphorous salts were chemically analyzed in order to determine chemical composition, and in the next step the agricultural tests allowing to estimate the toxicity of waste were carried out. The relatively optimal dose, which can be applied in the prescription of mineral-organic fertilizer without causing damages in cultivations, was determined.

Odpady z zakładu produkującego sole fosforowe poddano analizie chemicznej w celu zbadania składu chemicznego, a następnie przeprowadzono testy rolnicze pozwalające ocenić toksyczność odpadów i ustalić optymalną dawkę, jaką można wykorzystać w recepturze nawozu mineralno-organicznego bez spowodowania szkód w uprawach.
