Opis:
This paper analyses required personnel, training capacities and equipment for participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations with the riverine elements. In order to meet necessary capabilities for engagement in United Nations peacekeeping operations, Serbian military riverine units have to be compatible with the issued UN requirements. Serbian Armed Forces have the potential to reach such requirements with the River Flotilla as a pivot for the participation in UN missions. Serbian Military Academy adopted and developed educational and training program in accordance with the provisions and recommendations of the IMO conventions and IMO model courses. Serbian Military Academy has opportunities for education and training military riverine units for participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations. Moreover, Serbia has Multinational Operations Training Center and Peacekeeping Operations Center certified to provide selection, training, equipping and preparations of individuals and units to the United Nations multinational operations.

Opis:
The article presents the method of analysing the operating process of Star military vehicles in their readiness aspect. The subject of research was the Military Economic Unit, recently created in the Polish Army. Markov processes were applied. A simple 5-state model was built, and the research was made in a discrete, as well as continuous time. The limit probabilities, both for the chain and the time, were estimated. Thanks to Chapman-Kołomogorov-Smoluchowski equations, the long-term projections could be estimated. To ensure of operating processes, correctly object’s permissible transitions from the previous state to the next one were chosen. It was defined based on technical documentation and owned operational knowledge on the considered operating process. The mathematical description of a set of permissible transitions includes a matrix of permissible Si → Sj transitions from the previous state Si (lines) to the next one. The five-state system has possible and forbidden transitions are presented. Graph of permissible transitions for the five-state operation model usage, standby, maintenance, repair, standstill in repair; correlogram for the average duration of the state; evolution of the probability of the Star cars’ staying in the state of usage, standby, maintenance, repair, standstill in repair are presented in the article.

The publication concerns the issue of periodic energy supply breaks. The main goal of the paper is to answer the following question: how one can solve the problems of local communities connected with periodic energy supply breaks, for instance: floods, avalanches, windstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes, which result in power cuts lasting for almost a week. Secondly, this article is also dedicated to the investors, who would certainly decrease the use of energy in some urban areas, if they applied the provided solutions with regard to their investments such as huge shopping centres. What is more, the aim of this paper is to present certain legal regulations related to the crisis management concerning the use of the equipment of the Armed Forces in the case of periodic energy supply breaks.

Opis:
The history of cavalry and horse artillery of Polish military units from the period of World War I and the Polish Army from 1918–1939 has long been a subject of interest for Polish scholars. It is evidenced by the growing number of publications concerning them. One of the sources by means of which their history is studied are relational sources, namely diaries, daybooks and memoirs. That is why the Author has decided to present only selected sources of this type, and point to those issues concerning the history of cavalry and horse artillery which can be studied on the basis of relational sources. Apart from that, he has also indicated problems which can be encountered by potential scholars who decide to use sources of this type.
Historia kawalerii i artylerii konnej polskich formacji wojskowych z okresu I wojny światowej oraz Wojska Polskiego z lat 1918–1939 od dawna budzi zainteresowanie naukowe polskich badaczy. Świadczy o tym stale narastająca liczba dotyczących ich publikacji. Jednym z narzędzi, za pomocą których bada się ich dzieje są źródła relacyjne – dzienniki, wspomnienia i pamiętniki. Dlatego też autor postanowił przedstawić wybrane źródła tego typu oraz wskazać te zagadnienia z dziejów kawalerii i artylerii konnej, które mogą być badane na podstawie źródeł relacyjnych i te problemy, które mogą napotkać potencjalni badacze korzystający ze źródeł tego typu.

W strukturze zapewnienia Siłom Zbrojnym RP zdolności do działań istotne znaczenie posiadają specjalistyczne jednostki logistyczne - wojskowe oddziały gospodarcze (WOG), których zadaniem jest odciążanie jednostek przeznaczanych do realizacji zadań szkoleniowych/bojowych w zakresie zabezpieczenia logistycznego. Realizacja trudnych zadań merytorycznych wymaga profesjonalizmu kadry WOG i powinna być oceniana pod względem efektywności funkcjonowania, poprzez analizę uzyskiwanych wyników, również w aspekcie ekonomicznym. W pracy przedstawiono zastosowanie funkcji rentowności zarządczej jako formy oceny działalności WOG obejmującej zróżnicowane uwarunkowania realizacyjne w zdeterminowanych okresach czasowych.
Specialised logistic entities hereby named as Military Economic Units (MEU) have a significant meaning in the structure providing operational capabilities for the Polish Armed Forces through relieving the military units involved in drilling/combat operations in the logistic tasks. The performance of difficult objective tasks demands a presence of professional staff in the MEU and its efficiency of operation has to be evaluated by an analysis of received results, also in a financial aspect. The paper describes an application of a managerial profitability function as a form of assessment for the MEU activities which includes different conditions for execution in determined time frames.

The main objective of the audit, which was conducted on NIK’s own initiative, was to examine whether the units subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence (MON) responsible for the property and equipment of army units, manage them properly. The condition of the infrastructure (buildings, structures) was examined, as well as their fittings and equipment. The audit also checked whether the expenditure on maintenance of the infrastructure and protection of the units allowed for appropriate performance of the tasks assigned.
