Opis:
The paper presents a series of designed microstrip antennas with different gain and width radiation characteristics and intended for use in Wi-Fi systems. These antennas in a multilayer system were analyzed with the use of computer programs, and then the parameters and characteristics of these antennas were measured. At the same time, to check the correctness of work, additional measurements of the temperature of the radiators were used with a thermal imaging camera. The obtained results were compared with the results of calculations and measurements. They show high compliance with both calculations and measurements. At the same time, thermovision measurements show the weaknesses of the designed power lines.

Opis:
This paper presents a technique of decoupling differential signals transmitted in a pair of microstrip lines on a printed circuit board (PCB), using dedicated coupler for high speed data transmission monitoring in chip-to-chip interconnections. The coupler used for signal probing is overlayed on the pair of microstrip lines under test, and provides a signal to the next blocks of the measurement system without disturbing transmission in the lines. Starting from the basic configuration obtained in the previous work, we describe a procedure of re-designing the coupler for enhanced directivity so that it is suitable for high-speed data transmission monitoring. The new coupler structure has improved topology based on stepped-impedance resonators with geometry parameters adjusted using numerical optimization techniques. The correctness of the design has been confirmed by the time-domain measurements performed for real chip-to-chip communication signals, using a dedicated measurement system based on Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA Development Kit. The presented technology can be used for reducing the cost of the product diagnostics by eliminating dedicated measurement connectors, run-time system debugging or reverse engineering.

Opis:
5G is a fifth-generation wireless technology that enables extremely fast data transfers and massive connection capacity. Existing Mobile health technology requires more reliable connection power and data transfer rates. The purpose of this research is to design, analyse, and compare the performance of a bio-inspired lotus-shaped microstrip patch antenna array with two to three radiating elements. The proposed antenna utilizes proximity coupled indirect microstrip transmission line feeding technique operating in the 24 GHz-30 GHz frequency band. The results indicate that performance continues to improve as the number of radiating elements increases. Moreover, each radiating element is loaded with complementary and non-complementary split-ring resonators (SRRs). The performance of the proposed microstrip antenna array is then analysed and compared with and without split-ring resonators. The findings validate that the proposed bio-inspired metamaterial-based microstrip patch array antenna is more reliable and performs better than an antenna without SRRs.

An X-band spatial power combiner, which uses a planar transmitarray (TXA) of orthogonally polarized stacked microstrip patches integrated with input and output ports of transistor amplifiers is described. In order to obtain an increased operational bandwidth, the unit cell of the combiner with various stacked patch (SP) configurations is investigated. The configuration showing the smallest insertion losses is chosen for developing a TXA. The constructed spatial combiner includes a 4×4 cell TXA placed between two hard horn antennas. Its performance is assessed experimentally in terms of amplification gain and combining efficiency.

W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono analizę numeryczną przetworników mikorpaskowych z kołowymi promiennikami do badania odkształceń materiałów i pośrednio naprężeń w nich występujących.
In this work, a numerical analysis of circular microstrip sensors to assess deformation of materials and indirectly strain is presented. In this type of sensors, the reflection coefficient S11 is measured to determine strain value. Reflection coefficient represents the ratio of the power of reflected signal to the power of input signal. The coefficient is measured in frequency domain. The shift of resonant frequency caused by deformation of resonator is used to evaluate the strain value. This kind of transducer can be alternative to a strain gauge. In this article, the sensitivity of transducers made on laminates with different permittivity was evaluated.

Opis:
In all measurement systems of radiation, the detector is the most important part. We can say that it is the heart of these systems. Gas detectors are still the most popular type of detector. Modern technologies allow manufacturing gas detectors having a very good energy and position (2D) resolution, high efficiency, large effective area, small count rate effect, radiation hardness, good signal-to-noise ratio and not complicated structure. These detectors are very fast and can stably work for a long period of time. One advantage of gas detectors is the possibility to read not only charge, but also UV light generated in the detector. In this paper we want to make a review of construction, mechanical properties, performance and possible applications of the following so-called micropattern gas detectors (MPGD): microstrip gas chamber (MSGC), gas electron multiplier (GEM), MICRO-MEsh GAseous Structure (MICROMEGAS) and capillary plate detector (CP).

Opis:
This paper presents the design of a parabolic reflector fed through a patch antenna array feed to enhance its directivity and radiation properties. Adaptive beam for‐ mers steer and alter an array’s beam pattern to increase signal reception and minimize interference. Weight selec‐ tion is a critical difficulty in achieving low SLL and beam width. Low Side Lobe Level [SLL]and narrow beam reduce antenna radiation and reception. Adjusting the weights reduces SLL and tilts the nulls. Adaptive beam formers are successful signal processors if their array output con‐ verges to the required signal. Smart antenna weights can be determined using any window function. Half Power Beam Width and SLL could be used to explore different algorithms. Both must be low for excellent smart antenna performance. In noisy settings, ACLMS and CLMS create narrow beams and side lobes. AANGD offers more control than CLMS and ACLMS. The blend of CLMS and ACLMS is more effective at signal convergence than CLMS and AANGD. It presents an alternative to the conventionally used horn‐based feed network for C‐band applications such as satellite communication. Broadside radiation patterns and 4x4 circular patch antenna arrays are used in the proposed design. 1400 aperture illumination is pro‐ vided by the array’s feed parabolic reflector, whose F/D ratio is 0.36. The proposed design’s efficacy is assessed using simulation analysis.

Opis:
An intelligent security model for the big data environment is presented in this paper. The proposed security framework is data sensitive in nature and the level of security offered is defined on the basis of the data secrecy standard. The application area preferred in this work is the healthcare sector where the amount of data generated through the digitization and aggregation of medical equipment’s readings and reports is huge. The handling and processing of this great amount of data has posed a serious challenge to the researchers. The analytical outcomes of the study of this data are further used for the advancement of the medical prognostics and diagnostics. Security and privacy of this data is also a very important aspect in healthcare sector and has been incorporated in the healthcare act of many countries. However, the security level implemented conventionally is of same level to the complete data which not a smart strategy considering the varying level of sensitivity of data. It is inefficient for the data of high sensitivity and redundant for the data of low sensitivity. An intelligent data sensitive security framework is therefore proposed in this paper which provides the security level best suited for the data of given sensitivity. Fuzzy logic decision making technique is used in this work to determine the security level for a respective sensitivity level. Various patient attributes are used to take the intelligent decision about the security level through fuzzy inference system. The effectiveness and the efficacy of the proposed work is verified through the experimental study.

In this paper the results of utilization of electromagnetic methods operating in low and high frequency range for evaluation of stress state and plastic deformation in steel elements are presented. In low frequency range Barkhausen noise and magnetic hysteresis loop method for evaluation of stress level and growth of plastic deformation changes were utilized. The methods allow to monitor parameters related to magnetization process under AC filed. Additionally in this paper the possibility of utilization of high frequency method for estimation of deformation extent (i.e. elongation) caused by stress will be presented. In this experiment the frequency response (the reflection coefficient S11) is measured. The strong relation of antennas resonant frequency to patch dimensions is utilized in order to obtain information about deformation of the sample.

An electrically small microstrip patch antenna based on high permittivity dielectric and magnetodielectric materials (MDM) is investigated in this paper. The basic parameters of microstrip patch antennas based on high dielectric and magnetodielectric materials are compared with other solutions. The analysis shows that an MDM-based patch surface is 7.14 times smaller when compared with a suspended plate antenna. The use of MDM improves bandwidth and offers perfect impedance matching between the material and free space, over a much wider bandwidth.

Opis:
For high speed downlinking of payload data from small satellites, a new 4×4 aperture coupled microstrip patch array antenna has been presented. The antenna is designed for the Ku band and a peak gain of 18.0 dBi is achieved within the impedance bandwidth from 11.75 GHz to 12.75 GHz. Wide bandwidth is achieved as the patch elements are excited through E-shaped slots having asymmetric side lengths and widths. Each square patch element of the array with truncated corners and appropriately placed slots generates right hand circularly polarized (RHCP) radiation with very high cross-polarization discrimination. A corporate feed network consisting of T-junctions and quarter-wave impedance transformers is developed to feed the array elements from a single coaxial port of 50 Ω. To improve the radiation from the patches and wave-guiding in the feed network, two types of Rogers substrates with different dielectric constant and thickness are considered. Our proposed microstrip patch array antenna of size 7.8 cm × 6.4 cm × 0.3 cm can perform efficiently with a downlink data rate as high as 4.6 Gbps for small satellites.
