In the paper there is proposed a simple mathematical model following on from the considerations included in the theoretical papers concerning the evaluation of medical and other therapies on the ground of fuzzy sets based on lattices [2001-2004]. The method allows to introduce in the evaluation procedure a convenient scale of the valuation results followed by proposed improvement methods. In the scale one finds both the positive and negative opinions.      For calculation purposes one needs to construct a table containing a list of symptoms, theoretical ones for an economic event and a list of proposed improvement methods. When the table has been constructed and filled out with numbers of the valuation scale,  in the end stage one needs to use the proposed simple calculation formula for a fuzzy set which allows us to state a value of relation between the improvement method used and symptoms of economic depression. As a result it is possible to obtain a proposal for the best efficacious improvement method for a given economic problem.

The paper considers major principles of methods based on quantitative measurements. The problem of construction investments is of paramount importance because they determine the potential of construction and the structure of expenses. The calculation of investments is an expensive tool of enterprise management used in planning the investments. It can be perceived as the harmonization and evaluation of the models for investment decision-making. Methods based on a single criterion can hardly be used in solving the problems associated with sophisticated technological or marketing systems. It is a multiple attribute decision method, taking into consideration major efficiency criteria, that enables the effective methods of solving complicated problems. When the quantitative criteria are precisely defined, the developed quantitative multiple criteria decision making (MCDM-1) method can be successfully applied. The present paper is devoted to the analysis of the algorithm and methods of application of the suggested technique.

The effectiveness of cast iron spheroidization with FeSiMg master alloy by the traditional method and using a reaction chamber placed in the cavity of foundry mould was compared. The method of cast iron treatment in mould cavity using a reaction chamber is an innovative technology developed by the Foundry Research Institute in Krakow. The effectiveness of the spheroidization process carried out by both methods was checked on a series of test castings. The article also presents the results of metallographic examinations and mechanical testing, including the discussion of magnesium yield and its assimilation rate.

The article analyses the current problems of vilnius city public Transportation. The possible solutions (options) and the technical means to improve The attractiveness of public transportation and accessibility are considered. Two main alternatives of means of electric transport (underground and tram) have been singled out for vilnius city. The suitability of these rail transport means have been substantiated. The nature and density of the work and residence places (areas) of vilnius city residents have been analysed. The scheme of tram and underground lines projected in vilnius city are evaluated, which have been composed according to the current and forecasted flows of passengers, the nature of their changes and critical points. The technical economic indicators of the tram routes and underground lines in vilnius city are analysed: average driving speed, average distance between the stations, the duration of the trip, the capacity of a single means of transport, the costs of line support and the size of investment. The accident rate of urban rail transportation is estimated. Comparative criteria of tram and underground lines are selected. The effectiveness of both rail means of transport in Vilnius city are compared according to three multi-criteria evaluation methods: the sum of ratings, simple additive weighting and geometrical means. The final conclusions and recommendations are provided.
B статье анализируются актуальные проблемы общественногоТранспорта города вильнюс. Рассматриваются возможные варианты их решения иТехнический потенциал повышения привлекательности и доступности. Общественного транспорта. Для вильнюса выделены две основные альтернативы Электрических транспортных средств (метро и трамвай) и обоснована пригодность. Этих рельсовых транспортных средств. Проанализирована локализация районов, Плотность мест проживания и работы жителей города вильнюса. Оценка схемы Проектируемых в вильнюсе трамвайных путей и линий метрополитена выполнена С учетом текущих и прогнозируемых потоков пассажиров, характера их изменений И критических точек. Анализируются технико-экономические показатели Трамвайных маршрутов и линий метрополитена в городе вильнюс: средняя Скорость движения, среднее расстояние между станциями, продолжительность Поездки, вместимость одного транспортного средства, расходы на содержание Линий и величина инвестиций. Анализируется число инцидентов в городском Рельсовом транспорте. Подбираются критерии для сравнения применяемости трамвайного транспорта и метрополитена. Эффективность обоих средств Рельсового транспорта в городе вильнюс сравнивается тремя методами Многокритериальной оценки: методом суммы рейтингов, методом простого Аддитивного взвешивания и методом средних геометрических значений. Представлены окончательные выводы и предложения.

Opis:
Digital map data sets (or geo-databases) are an important part of the spatial data infrastructure (SDI) of the European Community. Different methods of producing large-scale map data are described in the paper, and the aim is to compare the accuracy of these methods. Our analysis is based on statistical tools belonging to the multiple comparisons theory. The first method is the well-known analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the second one is the rank-based method. The latter approach, which is rarely used in geodetic research, allows us to determine the order of the considered methods with respect to the positional accuracy of digital map data that they produce. Using this approach, one can identify the least accurate set of map data or a fragment of a map that should be updated by a new direct survey. The rank-based methods can also be rather easily applied to other technical (engineering) disciplines, e.g. geodesy and cartography.

A review of the existing methods of tomatoi firmness measurement provided a basis for evaluating the usefulness of three grou,ps of methods: punch testing (different sizes and shapes), compression (compression force and deformation) and skin tension test (tension force and elongation). It was found that finał compression force was the simplest and most useful index of tomata firmness, especially of tomatoes intended for mechanical harvesting.
Przeprowadzono badania mające na celu opracowanie instrumentalnej metody oceny twardości pomidorów przeznaczonych do zbioru mechanicznego. Zastosowano metodę penetrometryczną (przebijanie owocu trzpieniem o różnej średnicy i kształcie, pomiar siły przebicia), metodę ściskania (pomiar siły ściskającej i odkształcenia) oraz oznaczanie wytrzymałości mechanicznej skórki na rozciąganie (pomiar siły zrywającej i wydłużenia). Jako kryterium przydatności metod przyjęto zróżnicowanie odmian pomidorów zgodnie z praktyczną oceną ich twardości, powtarzalność wyników, łatwość wykonania pomiarów i czas trwania oznaczeń. Za pomocą testu ściskania do ustalonego odkształcenia uzyskać można sześć wskaźników twardości siłę początkową, siłę w punkcie przegięcia (pęknięcia owocu) oraz siłę graniczną w wartościach bezwzględnych i w przeliczeniu na jednostkę masy owocu. Stwierdzono, że wartość siły ściskającej granicznej jest prostym i najbardziej przydatnym miernikiem oceny twardości pomidorów w pracach hodowlano-selekcyjnych.

This method is still developed and one of its other possible applications is presented in this paper. This application concerns a new way of evaluating the integral ʃ sec2n+1 xdx on the basis of the discussed method. Additionally, many other applications of the obtained original recursive formula for this type of integral are given here. Some of them are used to generate the interesting identities for inverses of the central binomial coefficients and the trigonometric limits. The historical view is also presented as well as the connections between the received and previously known identities.

All respondents have worked in an IT department during the last five years. The group of respondents was diverse in terms of age and gender. In this paper the analytical and quantitative tools for the analysis of investments profitability, as well as the principles of their application are specified. To illustrate these methods, data derived from the paper published in the previous issue of Inżynieria Biomedyczna quarterly vol. 16 (2) was used. Presented results have an illustratory character, only.

Celem pracy było przedstawienie nowych metod diagnostycznych oceny czynności głosu dla potrzeb foniatry i logopedy. Czynność tworzenia głosu zależy nie tylko od prawidłowego zwarcia i drgań fałdów głosowych wzmacniających energię akustyczną tonu podstawowego, ale również od funkcji jam rezonacyjnych oraz narządów artykulacyjnych wpływających na barwę głosu i wytwarzanie dźwiękowych elementów mowy, czyli głosek. Europejskie Towarzystwo Laryngologiczne z 2001 roku zaproponowało protokół diagnostyczny, który zaleca, poza wywiadem i badaniem przedmiotowym, przeprowadzenie oceny odsłuchowej głosu, badania wideolaryngostroboskopowego (VLS), badań akustycznych oraz samooceny jakości głosu. Badanie parametrów akustycznych głosu pozwala na obiektywną analizę tonu krtaniowego. Jest to ważna zaleta tej metody. Kompleksowa analiza głosu, obejmująca zarówno badania obiektywne, jak i subiektywne dotyczące oceny charakteru tworzonego głosu za pomocą skali GRBAS, oraz różne modyfikacje testów niesprawności głosowej określające stan funkcjonalny, emocjonalny i fizyczny badanej osoby, pozwalają na stwierdzenie, w jakim stopniu zaburzenie głosu może wpływać na jakość życia. W codziennej praktyce foniatry i logopedy umożliwiają rzetelne określenie etiologii, postawienie rozpoznania, zaplanowanie leczenia oraz monitorowanie efektów leczenia zaburzeń głosu.
The aim of the study was to present new diagnostic methods of evaluation of voice activity for phoniatrists’ and speech therapists’ needs. The voice formation depends not only on the correct contraction and vibration of the vocal cords, which reinforce the acoustic Energy of the fundamental tone, but also on the function of the resonant cavities and articulatory organs, affecting the timbre and the production of sound elements of speech, that is sounds. The European Society of Laryngology has proposed a diagnostic protocol since 2001. It recommends: videolaryngostroboscopy (VLS), acoustic examination and voice self‑assessment, except for interview and physical examination. Examination of acoustic parameters allows for objective analysis of the larynx tone. This is an important and only advantage of this method. Comprehensive voice analysis includes subjective and objective examinations, evaluating, based on GRBAS scale, the voice character and different modifications of voice malfunction, that specify functional, emotional and physical condition of examined person, may determine how the extent of the voice disorder may affect quality of life. They allow to determine proper etiology, make a diagnosis, plan the treatment schedule and follow up voice disorder effects of treatment.

Obszarami szczególnie interesującymi z uwagi na wielkość zasobów i warunki geologiczno-górnicze eksploatacji są wschodnie części synklinorium kielecko-lagowskiego i antyklinorium klimontowskiego. Udokumentowano tam 14 złóż o zasobach bilansowych około 636 mln t. Aktualnie eksploatowanych jest sześć złóż. Efektywne zagospodarowanie tego obszaru złożowego wymaga doskonalenia metodyki rozpoznania i dokumentowania złóż. Coraz częściej stosuje się niekonwencjonalne metody dokumentowania - zwłaszcza badania geofizyczne, wspomagane kartowaniem geologicznym powierzchniowym, obserwacjami w ramach geologicznej obsługi kopalń i bieżącą kontrolą jakości kopaliny.Na atrakcyjność złóż kamieni drogowych składają się liczne czynniki geologiczne, górniczo-techniczne i środowiskowe. Na podstawie 16-punktowej oceny wybranych czynników poszczególne złoża zaliczono do trzech grup: złoża atrakcyjne, złoża o przeciętnej skali utrudnień i ograniczeń eksploatacji oraz złoża nieatrakcyjne. Złoża rejonu Opatowa należą do złóż atrakcyjnych, o łatwych lub nieznacznie utrudnionych warunkach wydobycia kopalin.
The areas particularly interesting in terms of the amount of reserves and geological and mining conditions include the eastern part of the Kielce-Łagów Synclinorium and the Klimontów Anticlinorium. Altogether 14 deposits with reserves reaching 636 million MG have been recorded. Six of them are currently quarried. Effective development of this area requires some improvements as far as exploration method and reporting of exploration are concerned. Selected unconventional exploration methods have been implemented, particularly geophysical surveys, supplemented by surface mapping, routine geological observations in active mines and permanent quality control of the raw material. The paper presents a new proposal of point evaluation of geological-mining conditions of road stone exploration. A total of 16 factors were taken into account, including 6 geological, 6 mining and 4 environmental ones. The deposits have been categorized into three groups: (1) attractive deposits, (2) deposits of moderate mining difficulties and (3) non-attractive deposits (hardly possible for use). According to the evaluation, the deposits from this region fall into two categories: easy to be exploited or slightly difficult to be exploited.

The article aims to analyse the development of tools, and assess the resource potential for industrial enterprises in Ukraine, and it also discusses the ways of forming a scientific research methodology. The success of the functioning of an economic entity is determined by the level of resource availability, their structure, the rate of renewal, the efficiency of use and the level of specialization. The scope of an enterprise determines all of these factors by its resource potential. Economists are looking for the best solutions for its evaluation, and thus various ways of previously known and tested methods of improving are proposed. Artykuł ma na celu analizę rozwoju narzędzi i ocenę potencjału zasobowego przedsiębiorstw przemysłowych na Ukrainie, a także omówienie sposobów kształtowania metodologii badań naukowych. O sukcesie funkcjonowania podmiotu gospodarczego decyduje poziom dostępności zasobów, ich struktura, tempo odnawiania się, efektywność wykorzystania oraz stopień specjalizacji. Zakres przedsiębiorstwa determinuje wszystkie te czynniki poprzez jego potencjał zasobowy. Naukowcy ekonomiści szukają najlepszych rozwiązań do jego oceny; proponowane są różne sposoby dotychczas znanych i sprawdzonych metod doskonalenia. Autorzy zwracają uwagę, że nie ma obecnie jednolitej metodologii oceny potencjału zasobowego przedsiębiorstwa w realnym sektorze gospodarki. Istniejące narzędzia pomiarowe to odrębne wskaźniki charakteryzujące efektywność przedsiębiorstwa. Jednak dla pełnej oceny konieczne jest, aby była wszechstronna i systematyczna. W związku z tym zaproponowano procedurę i system wskaźników do oceny głównych rodzajów zasobów, które może zastosować każde przedsiębiorstwo przemysłowe w celu poprawy jego wydajności.

The article outlines the problem of the strategic evaluation of the enterprise relationships with the economic impact groups (stakeholders). This evaluation is a part of the strategic controlling and lies in quantifiable (absolute or relative) determining of the enterprise interests concerning the economic impact groups, its contribution to their activities and vice versa – interests and contributions of economic impact groups to the enterprise activity in order to balance their interests. Purpose – The article aims to justify the main objectives, indicators and methods of strategic evaluation of enterprise relationships with the economic impact groups. Design/Methodology/Approach – In the article, which is the result of a case study, the methodological basis of the study is fundamental provisions on enterprise development strategy in the context of its cooperation with economic impact groups and methods of strategic evaluation of this cooperation.Findings – Methods of strategic evaluation of enterprise cooperation with the main economic impact groups have been developed.Originality/Value – Scientific substantiation of possible ways of strategic evaluation of enterprise cooperation with internal and external economic impact groups feasibility and effectiveness.Article type – Original paper.
