    Opis:
    The author of the article revises the process of gradual deconstruction of soviet metanarrative in literature of Russia, Belorussia and Ukraine after 1991st. Each of those literatures built its own identity, which had to replace soviet cultural discourse. That process was contradictory, but still quite productive. Contemporary post-soviet literature is in boundary situation. It means that the crisis of the transition period has not been completely overcome. The main problems in creating of the national narratives are neo-imperial (in Russia) or neo-colonial (in Belorussia and Ukraine) tendencies.

    The paper examines the relevance of Aldous Huxley’s widely known comfortable dystopia, depicted in the novel Brave New World – along with some additional material drawn from his other, earlier writings – by comparing it to two relatively recent books from the social sciences: Zygmunt Bauman’s Globalization: The Human Consequences (1998) and Thomas Hylland Eriksen’s Tyranny of the Moment (2001). It then analyzes the differences and similarities between the ideas espoused in the three books and enquires what they might bring to the general debate about our condition, focusing specifically on the problems of our (in)ability to correctly describe and predict the relationships between the present, the past and the future, and on the function and relevance of meta-narratives.

    Autor artykułu przez przekrojową analizę najbardziej znanych opracowań dotyczących prognoz nad przewidywaną przyszłością ludzkości i aktualnej cywilizacji, dokonał metateoretycznej narracji, która wskazuje na wielowymiarową istotę opisywanych problemów. Jednocześnie za pomocą własnych komentarzy w połączeniu z przykładami z m.in. prac L.R. Browna, raportów Klubu Rzymskiego czy rodzimego Komitetu Prognoz Polska 2000 Plus autor podjął próbę ukształtowania poglądu, że właściwie wiemy wszystko, co trzeba zrobić, ale można odnieść wrażenie, że działamy niezgodnie ze stanem wiedzy, bo nadal powtarzamy te same błędy dotyczące rozwoju jakościowego człowieka, wykorzystania zasobów naturalnych, a tym bardziej ochrony ekosystemu. W podsumowaniu autor nakreślił alternatywne prognozy rozwoju nowego ładu społecznego i gospodarczego.
    The author of the article, through a cross-sectional analysis of the most famous studies on forecasts about the predicted future of humanity and the current civilization, makes a Meta theoretical narrative that indicates the multidimensional essence of the described problems. At the same time, through own comments in conjunction with examples from incl. the work of L.R. Brown, the Reports of the Club of Rome or the Polish Committee of Prognoses Polska 2000 Plus, the author shapes the view that we actually know everything that needs to be done, but one can get the impression that we are acting contrary to this knowledge, because we continue to repeat the same mistakes regarding human qualitative development and the use of natural resources and even more so to protect the ecosystem. In conclusion, the author outlines alternative forecasts for the development of the new socio-economic order.

    The author briefly discusses performative aspects of demonstration which, in his opinion, is a kind of narration, co-created by the demonstrators as their story about themselves. By providing the example of the March of Independence – a mass demonstration in Warsaw, organised annually on the 11th of November by the Polish nationalists, the author tries to answer the questions: what, to whom and how the street demonstration tells its narrative' and what kind of community the demonstration creates.
