Collective memory, defined as ‘acollection of imagesof community members about their past which are included in cultural texts,’ (Wójcicka 2015: 68), ‘images about the past activated in the process of social communication in order to meet the cul-tural and political needs of the present’ (Czachur 2018: 11), is unavailable directly. It can be reached only through representation of the past expressed in different kinds of signs. Thus, collective memory has the character of a sign. Based on that assumption, the author presents the style and genre diversity of collective memory. She shows the role of language style in collective memory and puts forward a ques-tion about what function speech genre has in remembering, recalling, reminding and forgetting. She presents complex relations between memory and speech genre, which she treats as a sign of oblivion. In the last part of the article, the author offers a typology of memory genres distinguishing primarily (intentionally) mnemonic and secondarily(functionally) mnemonic genres.

Opis:
The memory genre as a model of text serves to memorize (shape) and remember (pass on) images of the past, which reproduces the picture of the past. The article is an attempt at providing typology of religious memory genres. In the first part of the article, the concept of the memory genre is presented and an attempt is made at typology of religious memory genres, making use of the conceptions of Jan Assmann who distinguished communicative and cultural kinds within collective memory. According to the author, the religious genres of cultural memory include the liturgical prayer and the fixed prayer. On the other hand, instances of the religious genres of communicative memory are the universal prayer and parish announcements. Beside these two types, the author indicates also religious genres of inter-cultural memory, which constitute a connection of different types of memory: communicative and cultural or cultural and individual. Examples of this genre are the examination of conscience and a pastoral letter. Certain genres (e.g. the liturgical prayer) are stored in collective memory in full and should be tied to, primarily, remembering – one of the four phases of memory. Then they make genres of cultural memory. Others are connected with recalling (examination of conscience, a pastoral letter, parish announcement) and are genres of communicative or inter-cultural memory.

In this study, we are trying to connect the J. Tynjanov’s theory of the constructive principle of the genre with the M.M. Bahtin’s theory of genre memory, through the analysis of Gogol’s stories Old World Landowners materials A Terrible Vengeance and The Nose. This research is primarily focused on the meaning and the function of their double structure. Double structure principle reflects in levels of genre, in levels of the speech, in levels of chronotope, as well as in literary heroes motivation. Doubling reality and characters that are in the narrative world of Gogol is often transmitted using a mirror, a Double, a dream or a vision, showing, in fact, the inconvenience that every man feels when confronted not only with his „I”, but also when he attempts to explain himself through Others, see himself in someone else’s soul. A symbolic expression of this internal state occurs in a similar manner, using similar concepts and ideas, double structures which it is advisable to bind together the idea and its realization.

Starting with the definition of style by K.A. Dolinin, the article proposes to reflect on the perspectives of an interdisciplinary approach to stylistic research, using primarily the achievements of psychology and philosophy, as the style of a literary work is the result of the subject’s choices, which in turn result from his/her individual way of thinking. The interdisciplinary approach will also allow for more effective aesthetic assessment of the work. The article analyses three literary texts based on memories: The childhood years of Bagrov-grandson, serving as a continuation of the Family Chronicle by S.T. Aksakov, The Life of Arsenyev by I.A. Bunin and Be Like Children by V.A. Sharov. On the example of language constructions forming the concept of MEMORY, the researcher shows the factors that influence the choice of language means that ultimately create the individual style of the author. The study proves that this choice is influenced by non-linguistic factors: the situational context, era, the author’s professional and personal experience and education, philosophicaland aesthetic ideas, and other important circumstances that guide the artist’s thinking. Genre rules and current tastes are also of importance. The study shows that the ratio of the number of language constructions regarding experience memory and information memory can characterize the individual style of a given author. It also proves that a broader interdisciplinary view of style allows to see more determinants of the aesthetic value of a work. Among them are: the harmonious structure of the text including its spatial and temporal organization, and the compliance with the broadly understood norm that involves not only the linguistic but also the mental layer of the text, as expressed by appropriately selected means.

“GENRE MEMORY” AND ITS METAMORPHOSIS IN A LITERARY TALE BY A.A. MILNEThe nucleus of Milne’s literary tale dilogy (Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at the Pooh Corner) is an archaic folklore-mythological spatio-temporal structure and its specific subject realization that have proved capable of development, metamorphosis, synthesis with other deep structures and have led to the formation of literary genres of a neo-mythological character – literary tale, story and fantasy.In Milne’s tales there is no traditional struggle between Good and Evil, there are practically no “miraculous” objects and magical powers. The action is not based on the confrontation between the two sides, representing different moral principles (as in a traditional fairy tale), but involves the transition of the hero, Christopher Robin, from the world of childhood to the adult world, acquiring a higher social status, the development of abilities and skills of various characters to solve different life problems, first at the level of choice of options from the accumulated empirical experience, and then at the level of abstraction from real specifics to the skills of logical analysis and mastering written speech and the basics of mathematics. This results in the acquisition of a new level of knowledge and the development of a new way of understanding of the world (the creation of the cosmos from chaos).

W artykule zbadano genezę gatunku horror w klasterze gatunków literatury grozy. Poddano analizie strukturę genetyczno-typologicznej ewolucji gatunku literatury grozy w literaturoznawstwie. Udowodniono, że horror – ze względu na jego specyfikę – odnieść należy do grupy tych gatunków, które realizowane są w literaturze na podstawie pamięci gatunku.  
This article examines the origin of horror as a genre within the clusterof all horror literature genres. The structure of genological-typological evolution of these genres has been analysed. It has been proven that horror, due to its specificity, should be referred to this group of genres which are realized in literature on the basis of genre memory.

Opis:
Artykuł poświęcony jest przysłowiom etnicznym zawierających etnonimy: Ormianin, Grek, Żyd, które stanowią swoistą kolekcję paremiczną uwarunkowaną przez dawny kontekst społeczno-kulturowy. Materiał badawczy został zebrany przy użyciu wyszukiwarki NKJP i Google. Celem artykułu jest analiza zebranych jednostek paremicznych jako nośników etnostereotypów oraz interpretacja jako tekstowych realizacji gatunku pamięci zbiorowej. W analizie i opisie materiału wykorzystuję metody lingwistyczno-kulturowe oraz lingwistyki pamięci, pozwalające na ujęcie omawianych przysłów w ramy gatunku pamięci uczestniczącego w przekazywaniu obrazów przeszłości. W badaniu uwzględniono pragmatyczne funkcje przysłów we współczesnym  dyskursie tożsamościowym oraz zachodzącą w nim reinterpretację znaczeń zawartych w badanych jednostkach paremicznych.
The article ponders upon ethnic proverbs containing the ethnonyms Ormianin ‘Armenian’, Grek ‘Greek’ and Żyd ‘Jew’, which constitute a peculiar collection of paremics determined by the former sociocultural context. The research material was collected using the NKJP and Google search engine. The paper aims at analysing the collected paremic items as carriers of ethnostereotypes, and to interpret them as textual realizations of the collective memory genre. I employ linguistic cultural methods and the linguistics of memory in the analysis and description of the material, which allows the studied proverbs to be framed as a genre of memory participating in the transmission of images of the past. The study also takes into account the pragmatic functions of proverbs in contemporary identity discourse and the reinterpretation of meanings contained in the paremic items in question.

In the article there have been analyzed the historical memory’s poetics in the story of B. Polianych “Seven golden cups” from the position of general ethic, local, personal levels. There have been considered author’s views as a founder and active participant of the Lviv literary society “Logos”. The author has studied the composition and plot of the work. So, compositionally it consists of twelve parts. In every part the author depicts the solution of Ukrainians’ political questions after defeat of Ukrainian-Swedish troops near Poltava. That’s why the image of a dream state of Ukrainians consists of numerous dialogues, military, church and public leaders. According to it there are two plot lines – state, religious.There have been defined memory places – Hamburg, Lviv, Rome where the important events for Ukrainian people took place. So, one of the geographic memory places of the story is Hamburg, where on the Japan ship the vice graph Chevalier de Meson Ruzh meets with the leader of military government of Japan – Great Shogun Tokugawa. In Hamburg the fate of Ukraine is decided. The next geographical memory place is Lviv, the Sent jour mountain, where Atanasii Sheptytskyi in the dialogue with Fedir Sheptytskyi discus Ukrainian problems. Rome is presented as a geographical, cultural and religious memory place, which is associated with Catholic Church. The traumatic memory place – Baturyn – appears from Ostapenko’s memories, in which one by one came crippled images of Ukrainians.

The subject of the analysis is a specific utterance realising the poetics of the profile of recollection. The author of the utterance refers to the convention of the genre only in the framework of the text. He uses a variety of concepts in the main segment, adding the general shape of a letter with elements of memories, vita and biography to the statement. The originality of expression, however, is determined by references to other genres adopting the nature of genre copies. In the early passages of the utterance, a funeral oration emerges from the obituary form, and in further parts reviews and other forms of critical literary discourse are filtered through the remembrances. The stylistics of utterance diversifies and enriches epistolary conventions as well asothermanners of a monologue into a dialogic utterance.

The article draws on contributions from the old and new rhetoric to explore the relationship between the epideictic genre and the construction of public memory. It analyzes the death notices dedicated to the former dictator and their controversial relationship with a hegemonic memory that condemns Argentina's last military dictatorship of the twentieth century. To this end, it explores what the author call rhetorical argumentative memory, that is, the recycling and reformulation of previously used persuasive strategies in a new situation.
