    This paper details the experiences of national copper ore mining associated with mechanized rock excavating systems. In particular, the machines used, technological solutions, efficiencies, and problems related to their implementation to underground copper mining conditions on Fore-Sudetic Mono-cline are discussed. Beginning from the experiences of „Konrad” mine in the Old Copper Basin where cutter-loaders type WŁE-50S were used - and ending with the ongoing tests with the Caterpillar ACT longwall shearer in the „Polkowice-Sieroszowice” mine. The implementation of mechanical excavation systems in KGHM’s mines has not reached a successful level thus far, but the results achieved during the previous attempts are promising. The roadheaders used while excavating the mining drifts achieved very good results considering the given mining-organizational conditions.

    W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki realizacji projektu PRASS III związane z opracowaniem systemu monitorowania parametrów obudowy zmechanizowanej - SSMS. Przedstawione zostały koncepcje oraz modele urządzeń wchodzących w skład systemu SSMS. W wyniku wdrożenia rezultatów projektu do praktyki przemysłowej, planowana jest poprawa bezpieczeństwa stanowiskowego w ścianie wydobywczej oraz poprawa bezpieczeństwa technicznego maszyn kompleksu ścianowego. System SSSMS pozwoli na predykcję obwałów skał stropowych w rejonie ściany, a docelowo minimalizację tego zjawiska, poprzez wdrożenie dobrych praktyk w zakresie prowadzenia obudowy zmechanizowanej.
    The article presents the results of the PRASS III project related to the development of a mechanized shield support monitoring system - SSMS. Concepts and models of devices included in the SSMS system were presented. As a result of implementing the project results into industrial practice, it is planned to improve the workplace safety in the mining wall and to improve the technical safety of the longwall system machines. The SSSMS system will allow for the prediction of roof falls in the longwall, and ultimately the minimization of this phenomenon, through the implementation of good practices in the field of mechanized roof support.

    W artykule podjęto próbę określenia dynamicznej mocy stojaka pracującego w warunkach zagrożenia wstrząsami górotworu. Na podstawie badań eksperymentalnych dynamicznych zjawisk ciśnienia górotworu, mającego bezpośredni wpływ na obudowę zmechanizowaną, jak również pomiarów drgań występujących blisko ognisk wstrząsów górotworu, opracowano prezentowaną metodę. Opisano zakres analityczny metody oceny obciążenia i prób zabezpieczenia zmechanizowanej obudowy ścianowej, pracującej w warunkach dynamicznych obciążeń górotworu, z zastosowaniem pojęcia mocy.
    The article presents the attempt to determine the dynamic power of a working leg in hazardous conditions of rock mass tremors. The research is based on experimental studies of dynamic phenomena of rock pressure which have a direct impact on the mechanized housing, as well as measurements of vibrations occurring near the outbreak of rock mass tremors. This paper describes the range of analytical methods assessing the load and the tests of the security of mechanized longwall housing working in a dynamic load of the rock mass.

    The increasing depth of extraction and the degree of mechanization leading to the risk of workers working in poor microclimate conditions has become one of the major safety issues in coal mines. During the survey of the current microclimate in Mongduong coal mine, it showed that the temperature of the mechanized longwall exceeded the permissible regulations (t°≤ 30°C), the air humidity is about 95–100%. The reason for the increase of air temperature in longwall is due to geothermal, heat radiated from the longwall equipment and the inlet wind high temperature. To improve the thermal environment in the mechanized longwall area, Vietnam's coal mines open use ventilation, but the efficiency is not high. Therefore, the paper evaluated the influence of airflow on the temperature of the longwall, 7 models with different air flow velocities and 3 models with inlet air temperature have been created in ICM-CFD and simulated by Ansys CFX software. The environment temperature of each model was evaluated by analyzing the average temperature of the roadway section, the cross-section distribution of the roadway temperature and the velocity streamline of the whole roadway. As a result, the air flow rate increases leading to the air temperature in the longwall decreases, however the wind speed is limited. The inlet temperature of the gas stream is an important factor that affects the thermal environment in the longwall. The results of the article are the basis for making solutions to improve the thermal environment suitable for high-temperature longwall.

    Due to a number of advantages, mechanized longwall systems are applied to exploit seams characterized by a wide range of thicknesses. In the case of thin seams as well as thin and highly inclined ones, there are numerous solutions for longwall shearers that allow for the exploitation of coal seams with a minimum thickness of 0.4 m and a gradient of up to 85°. The article focuses on longwall systems designed for such seam mining. The most important assumptions and advantages of longwall exploitation are presented, and mining machines that are key elements of mechanized longwall systems are discussed. Attention has also been drawn to the various solutions of shearers that are currently used on the domestic market. A wide range of available solutions allowed for distinguishing and presenting ten types of shearers.
    Zmechanizowane kompleksy ścianowe ze względu na ich wiele zalet stosowane są do eksploatacji pokładów z dużej rozpiętości miąższości. W przypadku pokładów cienkich oraz cienkich i silnie nachylonych można wyróżnić wiele odmiennych rozwiązań kombajnów ścianowych pozwalających na eksploatację węgla z pokładów o grubości od 0,4 m i przy nachyleniu podłużnym do 85°. W artykule skupiono się na ścianowych systemach eksploatacji tych pokładów. Przedstawiono najważniejsze założenia i zalety eksploatacji ścianowej oraz omówiono stosowane maszyny urabiające stanowiące kluczowy element ścianowych systemów mechanizacyjnych. Zwrócono również uwagę na rozwiązania kombajnów, które obecnie nie są stosowane na rynku krajowym. Szeroka gama dostępnych rozwiązań pozwoliła wyróżnić i zaprezentować dziesięć typów kombajnów.
