    One of the mathematical skills that must be possessed by students is the ability of mathematical representation, therefore the applied learning method should be able to facilitate the students to learn to represent the mathematical ability they have. The purpose of this study to determine the improvement of students' mathematical representation in mathematics learning using accelerated learning method. The research method used is Quasi Experiments with Nonequivalent (Pretest and Posttest) design of Control Group Design. The population in this study is the students of grade X in Pasundan Majalaya Senior High School by using Purposive Sampling technique. The samples involved in the study were 48 students of Pasundan Majalaya Senior High School, 24 students came from class X MIPA 1 (experimental class) and 24 students came from class X MIPA 3 (control class). The learning method is applied to the students of class X MIPA 1 is the method of accelerated learning whereas in the students of class X MIPA 3 is conventional methods. The result of mathematical representation of students 'mathematical representation shows that there is an improvement of ability for students' mathematical representation with gain value of 0.56 with middle criterion for class X MIPA 1 and 0.17 with lower criterion for class X MIPA 3.

    W pracy przedstawiono metodę doboru funkcji odwzorowania matematycznego procesu płatkowania dla dowilżanych hydrotermicznie parą wodną próbek ziarna lub nasion. Metoda została oparta na modelowaniu matematycznym funkcji oceny jakości płatków w zależności od wartości szczeliny roboczej gniotownika, wilgotności początkowej surowca oraz czasu obróbki hydrotermicznej parą wodną. Metodę zilustrowano przykładem przygotowania próbek o masie 1000g kaszy gryczanej prażonej poddanej procesowi płatkowania w gniotowniku „TYTAN” H-759.
    Paper presented the method of selecting mathematical representation function for flaking process of groin or seeds’ samples moistened hydro thermally by steaming. The method was based on mathematical modeling of a function evaluating the quality of flakes depending on the clearance of working gap in the crusher, initial moisture content of grain / seeds and duration of hydrothermal processing by steaming. The method was illustrated on an example of preparing 1000 g samples of buckwheat groats roasted and subjected to flaking process in a crushing mill TYTAN H-759.

    W pracy przedstawiono metodę doboru funkcji matematycznej umożliwiającej projektowanie przebiegu procesu obróbki cieplnej próbek ziarna lub nasion kierowanych do dalszych badań. Metoda umożliwia dobór obliczeniowy wymaganych wartości wilgotności oraz temperatur końcowych w zależności od czasu obróbki cieplnej oraz wilgotności początkowej. Zasady metody i procedurę wykonawczą zilustrowano przykładem przygotowania próbki 50g ziarna prosa poddanej obróbce cieplnej w suszarce uniwersalnej typu SUP-4 o mocy znamionowej 1200 W z konwekcyjnym wymuszeniem ruchu powietrza.
    Paper presented the method of selecting mathematical representation function that enables to design the thermal processing course for grain or seeds samples provided to further investigations. The method enables analytical selection of required final moisture contents and temperatures depending on heat treatment duration and initial moisture content. Methodological principles and operational procedures were illustrated on an example of preparing 50 g milled seeds’ sample, subjected to thermal treatment in an universal drier SUP – 4 type of rated power 1200 W with convection forced air flow.

    Paper presented the method of selecting optimum moisture content of the buckwheat grain (groats) intended to faking. The method was based on mathematical modeling of the function of flakes’ mass acceptable by quality, depending on the clearance of working gap in crusher and initial moisture content of material. Method was illustrated by an example of buckwheat grain preparation and flaking in TYTAN H 759 crushing mill. Stability of the flakes was tested in TG – 01 type laboratory tester.

    The paper presents a procedure of selecting a mathematical representation of the compression process of thermally processed hot samples of lupine seeds intended for grinding and flaking. The method was based on mathematical modeling of unit step functions of squeeze forces and unit energy depending on the temperature in the drying chamber and raw material heating time. The method was illustrated by example of preparation and testing of lupine seed samples put to heating In the universal drier SUP-4 and squeezing of hot seeds on the testing machine Instron 4302.

    In this paper we present a new probability function G that generalizes the classical probability function. A mass function is an assignment of basic probability to some context (events, propositions). It represents the strength of support for some contexts in a domain. A context is a subset of the basic elements of interest in a domain - the frame of discernment. It is a medium to carry the "probabilistic" knowledge about a domain. The G function is defined in terms of a mass function under various contexts. G is shown to be a probability function satisfying the axioms of probability. Therefore G has all the properties attributed to a probability function. If the mass function is obtained from probability function by normalization, then G is shown to be a linear function of probability distribution and a linear function of probability. With this relationship we can estimate probability distribution from probabilistic knowledge carried in some contexts without any model assumption.

    This review discusses the content of Mateusz Hohol’s new book Foundations of Geometric Cognition. Mathematical cognition has until now focused mainly on human numerical abilities. Hohol’s work tackles geometric cognition, an issue that has not been described in previous investigations into mathematical cognition. The main strength of the book lies in its critical analysis of a huge amount of results from empirical experiments. The author formulates his theoretical proposals very carefully, avoiding radical and one-sided solutions. He claims that human geometric cognition is based mainly on two core systems, both being phylogenetically hardwired, namely the system of layout geometry and the system of object geometry. The interaction of these systems becomes amplified in the individual development of the mind, which, in turn, is supported by the use of language. The second part of the review contains the reviewer’s remarks concerning the history of geometry, experiments related to spatial representations, and the role of geometry in mathematical education.
