The purpose of the following publication (consisting of two parts) is to perform a query of literature, which is in direct relation with the research subject of analysis of costs of purchase raw materials used in the production process. Currently, much is being said about a system, which would improve productivity and effectiveness and limitation of production costs connected with general cost minimisation, and broadly understood Lean Manufacturing philosophy. Assuming that the raw material cost amounts to 70% of the total production cost of the final product, the authors decided that it is justified to develop a model strategy, whose implementation will have a tangible effect i.e. the reduction of raw material cost, which will bring distinguishable results in the form of improved value of the production facility.

This article discusses the results of studies using the developed artificial neural networks in the analysis of the occurrence of the four main mechanisms destroying the selected forging tools subjected to five different surface treatment variants (nitrided layer, pad welded layer and three hybrid layers, i.e. AlCrTiSiN, Cr/CrN and Cr/AlCrTiN). Knowledge of the forging tool durability, needed in the process of artificial neural network training, was included in the set of training data (about 800 records) derived from long-term comprehensive research carried out under industrial conditions. Based on this set, neural networks with different architectures were developed and the results concerning the intensity of the occurrence of thermal-mechanical fatigue, abrasive wear, mechanical fatigue and plastic deformation were generated for each type of the applied treatment relative to the number of forgings, pressure, friction path and temperature.

Opis:
Multilayer structures allow obtaining good performance in acoustic insulation to eliminate unwanted noise in the medium and high frequencies in many applications such as building and transport industry. In this paper, the sound transmission of multilayer systems is studied using the Transfer Matrix Method (TMM). The studied multi-layered panels include elastic, viscoelastic and porous materials. Several configurations of multilayer systems are studied, and their corresponding transmission loss T L is computed. Also, the effects of porous material characteristics are studied to evaluate the impact of each parameter.

When studying porous materials, most acoustical and geometrical parameters can be affected by the presence of uncertainties, which can reduce the robustness of models and techniques using these parameters. Hence, there is a need to evaluate the effect of these uncertainties in the case of modeling acoustic problems. Among these evaluation methods, the Monte Carlo simulation is considered a benchmark for studying the propagation of uncertainties in theoretical models. In the present study, this method is applied to a theoretical model predicting the acoustic behavior of a porous material located in a duct element to evaluate the impact of each input error on the computation of the acoustic proprieties such as the reflection and transmission coefficients as well as the acoustic power attenuation and the transmission loss of the studied element. Two analyses are conducted; the first one leads to the evaluation of the impacts of error propagation of each acoustic parameter (resistivity, porosity, tortuosity, and viscous and thermal length) through the model using a Monte Carlo simulation. The second analysis presents the effect of propagating the uncertainties of all parameters together. After the simulation of the uncertainties, the 95% confidence intervals and the maximum and minimum errors of each parameter are computed. The obtained results showed that the resistivity and length of the porous material have a great influence on the acoustic outputs of the studied model (transmission and reflection coefficients, transmission loss, and acoustic power attenuation). At the same time, the other physical parameters have a small impact. In addition, the acoustic power attenuation is the acoustic quantity least impacted by the input uncertainties.

This paper proposes two new methods of measuring the viscoelastic parameters of materials. The methods are based on the composite beams’ resonant frequencies measurement. The Young moduli and loss factors of the components are determined by measuring the frequency response of a composite beam twice, each time with different layer thickness ratios. A system of two equations is obtained, from which Young’s moduli of the composite components are calculated. Similarly, two obtained equations determine the loss factors. The results obtained by the proposed methods are compared with those obtained by standard methods and then validated by experiments and FEM simulations. It was noted that the developed models, as well as the standard ones, are highly sensitive to the precision of the samples (material trimming and the way of joining the composite elements). The proposed methods prove to have an advantage over the standard ones in the matter of more frequent measurement criterion fulfilment. The acknowledged criterion represents the existence of a sensible solution insensitive to measurement errors. This criterion, which assures that the results are not prone to errors (for example negative loss factors) is met in 100% of cases in one of the methods, compared to 65% for standard methods.

Contemporary societies are strongly dependent existentially and economically on the supply of electricity, both in terms of supplying devices from the power grid, as well as the use of energy storage and constant voltage sources. Electrochemical batteries are commonly used as static energy storage. According to forecasts provided by the Environmental Protection Agency at the global and EU level, in 2025 lead-acid technologies will continue to dominate, with the simultaneous expansion of the lithium-ion battery market. The production, use and handling of used batteries are associated with a number of environmental and social challenges. The way batteries influence the environment is becoming more and more significant, not only in the phase of their use but also in the production phase. The article presents how to effectively reduce the environmental impact of the battery production process by stabilizing it. In the presented example, the proposed changes in the battery assembly process facilitated the minimization of material losses from 0.33% to 0.05%, contributing to the reduction of the negative impact on the environment.

Problem oceny usterek sprzętu elektronicznego z uwzględnieniem aspektów ubezpieczeniowych jest ciągle aktualny, mimo nowych metod oceny ryzyka awarii. W niniejszym artykule porusza się aspekt finansowy po wystąpieniu awarii urządzeń z punktu widzenia analizy eksperckiej dla firmy ubezpieczeniowej. Postawione tezy zostały poparte przykładem analizy przyczynowo skutkowej wraz z analizą uszkodzeń i błędów w przykładowej instalacji. Zaproponowany został również sposób oceny ryzyka wystąpienia awarii o tych samych przyczynach. W dalszej części artykułu przedstawiona została analiza strat materialnych na skutek wystąpienia awarii oraz analiza kosztów zredukowanych w wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz eksperckich.
The problem of fault evaluation of electronic equipment with regard to insurance aspects is still valid despite new methods of risk assessment of failure. This article discusses the financial aspect after the breakdown of equipment from the point of view of the expert analysis for the insurance company. The theses have been supported by an example of cause-andeffect analysis along with analysis of defects and errors in the sample installation. The method of risk assessment for the same cause was also proposed. The following section presents an analysis of material losses as a result of breakdown and analysis of costs reduced as a result of conducted expert analyzes.

Jednym z istotnych problemów z dziedziny prawa pracy jest odpowiedzialność pracowników za mienie powierzone mu przez pracodawcę. Nie zawsze pracownik wykonuje pracę w taki sposób, w jaki chciałby tego jego pracodawca. We wszystkich sferach życia gospodarczego może dojść do różnego rodzaju zdarzeń skutkujących wyrządzeniem szkody przez pracowników, czy to samemu pracodawcy, czy osobom trzecim. Pracodawca z tytułu szkody powstałej z winy pracownika może dochodzić jej naprawienia na drodze polubownej lub postępowania sądowego. Czasem w związku z naruszeniem obowiązków pracowniczych przez pracownika, które było powodem zaistnienia szkody, pracodawca postanawia rozstać się z pracownikiem rozwiązując z nim umowę o pracę. Nawet jednak, gdy pracodawca zwolni pracownika za wypowiedzeniem lub w trybie art. 52 k.p., pozostaje problem wyegzekwowania należności z tytułu naprawienia szkody. Pracownik, który wskaże i udowodni okoliczności, wskutek których szkoda powstała z przyczyn od niego niezależnych, może uwolnić się od odpowiedzialności. Istnieje również możliwość wyłączenia odpowiedzialności pracownika za całość lub część szkody, jaka powstała w mieniu mu powierzonym. Odpowiedzialność pracownika za mienie powierzone mu przez pracodawcę ma również istotny związek z przepisami i zasadami bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy (bhp). Pracownik, który lekceważy przepisy i zasady bhp, musi liczyć się z konsekwencjami w postaci pociągnięcia go do odpowiedzialności porządkowej, wypowiedzenia umowy o pracę, a nawet rozwiązania jej bez wypowiedzenia z jego winy (art. 52 § 1 pkt. 1 k p ).
Employees' responsibility for property entrusted to them by the employer is a major problem in the field of labour law. Employees do not always perform their work the way their employer would like them to. In all areas of economic life, employees' actions can result in damage sustained by the employer or third parties. If an employee is at fault the employer can seek the damage to be redressed either out-of-court or in court. Sometimes, breach of employment duties, which caused damage, can make the employer decide to terminate employment. Even if the employer terminates employment with notice or under art 52 of Poland's Labour Code, it is still necessary to collect payment as damages, which the employee should cover. Employees who will identify and prove circumstances, which have resulted in damage due to reasons beyond their control may be released from their liability. It is also possible to limit employees' liability for all or part of the damage to property entrusted to them Employees' responsibility for property entrusted to them by the employer is strongly related to the provisions and principles of occupational safety and health (OSH). Employees who ignore the provisions and principles of OSH have to reckon with the consequences in the form of being held responsible, having their employment terminated or even having their employment terminated with out notice due to their fault (art. 52 §1 point l of Poland's Labour Code).

Opis:
Ways of energy saving in buildings, namely compliance with the regulatory framework of European standards, possibilities to reduce heat losses during energy transportation through pipelines on the example of heating systems and reducing heat losses during the operation of buildings and structures are studied in the article. It was found that, despite the regular updates of the State Construction Norms of Ukraine, the coefficient of thermal conductivity of insulation materials is not brought into line with generally accepted European standards. The second part of the article presents the results of analytical studies of various thermal insulation materials that are widely used in the territory of Ukraine. After comparing the results, we concluded that the most common at this stage of development of insulation materials will not fully satisfy all the requirements, which must meet all the materials for insulation of structures. The use of some materials is impossible of thermal insulation of structures and pipelines with complex configuration. The solution of energy efficiency along with increasing soundproofing properties, reducing the fire hazard, reducing the load on the bearing structures of buildings and structures is possible through the use of aerogel as a thermal insulation material. The material is characterized by low dependence of the thermal conductivity coefficient on changes in ambient temperature, which makes it the best option for use in harsh operating conditions. After analytical studies of various insulating materials, it was found that aerogel in roll in addition to low coefficient of heat transfer is characterized by better operating properties, namely, non-combustibility of the material, environmental safety, light weight, which reduces the burden on the structure, ease of installation, the possibility of using the structures with high rate of sound insulation.

For a simplified sonar dome model, an optimization method for internal gradients of functionally graded material (FGM) acoustic windows is proposed in this paper. This method can be used to design optimized FGM acoustic windows with better turbulent self-noise suppression and sound transmission performances. A theoretical model of FGM acoustic windows to evaluate the reduction of self-noise caused by the turbulent boundary layer (TBL) pulsating pressure and the sound transmission loss (STL) is derived through the double Fourier transform and the wavenumber frequency spectrum analysis, respectively, based on the transfer matrix idea and the classical elastic theory. The accuracy of the theory is verified by the finite element results of COMSOL Multiphysics. Utilizing the genetic algorithm (GA) and taking the monotonic gradient as the constraint condition, the internal gradient optimization method of FGM acoustic windows obtains the optimization variables in the Bernstein polynomial when the optimization objective is minimized by iterating the optimization variables in the deviation function represented by the Bernstein polynomial that is introduced in the gradient function. The STL, the turbulent self-noise reduction or a weighting function of the STL and turbulent self-noise reduction of FGM acoustic windows is chosen as the optimization objective. The optimization calculation of the sound transmission or turbulent self-noise suppression performances is carried out for the FRP-rubber FGM (FGM with fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) as the substrate material and rubber as the top material) acoustic window. The optimized results show that both the sound transmission and turbulent self-noise suppression performance are effectively improved, which verifies the effectiveness of the optimization method. Finally, the mechanism of the sound transmission and self-noise suppression characteristics before and after optimization are explained and analyzed based on the equivalent model of graded materials. The research results of this paper provide a reference value for the future design of FGM acoustic windows for sonar domes.

The subject of the article is the evaluation of the strength of revision implants made of titanium or tantalum alloy, used during bone reconstruction of a hip joint while potentially using additional stabilizing screws, necessary due to significant bone loss. The article provides a preliminary strength analysis of implants, indispensable for further evaluation of strength limitations due to the risk of implant damage depending on the structure and number of additional screw holes. In the human locomotor system, the hip joint is the joint with the most load, hence the main problem is to establish an adequate load model which ought to be assumed for the needs of implant strength analysis. It is found necessary to perform a short, analytical review of the existing hip joint load models from the point of view of choosing the proper one, considering evaluation of implant strength by means of numerical studies using FEM. Differences in the implant load distribution depending on the used material are shown.

Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie zależności przyczynowo-skutkowych zachodzących pomiędzy awariami występującymi w sprzęcie elektronicznym (elektrycznym), a wywołującymi je zdarzeniami atmosferycznymi. Za podstawę analizy posłużyły badania przeprowadzane na zlecenie firmy ubezpieczeniowej, a poddawane były nim urządzenia, zainstalowane w różnych środowiskach, które uległy awarii w określonych warunkach pogodowych. Pierwotne zlecenia miały na celu wyłącznie typową diagnostykę określającą faktyczne przyczyny uszkodzeń, jednakże w trakcie ich wykonywania (dla potrzeb między innym późniejszych badań) sprawdzano również związek pomiędzy zakresem i stopniem tych uszkodzeń, a wpływem różnorodnej konstrukcji oraz przeznaczenia poszczególnych urządzeń.
The aim of the article is to present the cause-effect relationships between faults of electronic (electric) equipment and the atmospheric phenomena which cause them. The research is based on analyses commissioned by an insurance company, which concerned devices installed in various environments that malfunctioned in particular weather conditions. The original commissions concerned only typical diagnostics determining the actual causes of the malfunction. However, while conducting the diagnostics (also for the purpose of further research), the connection was also investigated between the range and degree of damage on the one hand and the various constructions and applications of particular devices on the other.
