    This article presents experiences associated with writing my master’s thesis and designing research to my doctoral dissertation. In this text I indicate determinants that shape my research addescence is favourable to conducting reliable research projects. In both cases research sets in pedagogy of people with intellectual disabilities (oligophrenopedagogy) – a detailed science of special pedagogy that deals with an individual and social life of a person with intellectual disabilities.

    Opis:
    The literature about composer Wojciech Łukaszewski includes two books, nine scholarly articles, five theses, over 80 newspaper articles and web pages. The book by M. Łukaszewski (ed. WSP, Częstochowa 1997) contains a description of the life history and memories of W. Łukaszewski as well as a thematic catalogue of Łukaszewski’s works. The book Musical Interludes is the first, complete edition of the collected journalistic work of Łukaszewski, which covers 126 reviews and 7 interviews. So far, nine scientific articles about Łukaszewski have appeared in scholarly journals in Częstochowa, Katowice, Bydgoszcz and Warsaw. Bibliographic entries about Łukaszewski are inscribed in: Musical Encyclopedia of PWM, the dictionary Polish Composers between 1918-2000, Lexicon of Polish Music Teachers, International Who’s Who in Music and Musicians and others. A list of literature about the composer can be found at a webpage dedicated to him: www.lukaszewski.waw.pl

    In the Italian academic discourse research, Master’s degree theses used to be studied mainly from the perspective of linguistic competencies of their authors. However, strictly linguistic skills are not the only challenge for undergraduate, who must also convey intellectual content in appropriate discursive and rhetorical forms. The paper explores the patterns of a peculiar form of “collaborative writing”, i.e. the cooperation between the thesis supervisor and the student. Using the example of Master’s theses in lin- guistics, written in Italian as a foreign language, three basic didactic approaches are discussed in the paper. In the didactics of content the supervisors emphasize knowledge, i.e. linguistic concepts expected to be applied in a Master’s thesis. In the didactics of forms, the supervisors focus on the linguistic code, that  is, on grammatical and lexical correctness of the Master’s thesis. In the didactics of forms of content the supervisors use regularities observed in academic discourse, such as genre and rhetorical structures, as valuable teaching resources likely to help students develop metacommunicative awareness.

    W opracowaniu przedstawiono rozważania dotyczące stawania się refleksyjnym praktykiem i innowatorem przez pedagogów specjalnych w kontekście przemian współczesnego świata. W odwołaniu do literatury przedmiotu uznano te kompetencje za ważne w przygotowaniu do zawodu oraz codziennej pracy każdego nauczyciela, w tym pedagoga specjalnego, a jednocześnie za niewystarczająco widoczne w realizowanych działaniach kształcenia akademickiego oraz praktyki. Tekst rozdzielono śródtytułami. Najpierw omówiono kwestie niespodziewanych wyzwań i dynamicznych zmian, które napotkała edukacja na przełomie drugiej i trzeciej dekady XXI wieku, głównie wynikające z pandemii COVID-19. Następnie zwrócono uwagę na zmieniające się potrzeby, ale także słabości kształcenia pedagogów specjalnych oraz możliwości realizowania profesji pedagoga specjalnego w dobie przemian systemu edukacji. W prezentowanych rozważaniach uwzględniono aktualny kontekst, w odwołaniu do mechanizmów zmian zachodzących w XXI wieku, skupionych wokół zagadnień technologicznych, politycznych oraz kulturowych. Za ważną część kształtowania kompetencji refleksyjnego praktyka i innowatora uznano uczestniczenie w seminarium i przygotowanie pracy dyplomowej, w powiązaniu z aktywnością studentów w ramach realizowanego planu studiów na wcześniejszych latach. Nabywane tą drogą doświadczenia winny pozwolić na zdobywanie umiejętności potrzebnych do wykonywania codziennej pracy nauczyciela opartej na wiedzy, badaniach naukowych i diagnozie zespołu uczniowskiego (evidence-based practice). Jednocześnie krytycznie oceniono w tym względzie aktualny stan. W ramach konkluzji sformułowano wniosek o zjawisku niedowartościowania potrzeby i podejmowanych działań w zakresie kształtowania refleksyjności i innowacyjności w edukacji akademickiej przyszłych pedagogów specjalnych oraz doskonalenia tych kompetencji u czynnych profesjonalistów. Postuluje się więc podjęcie namysłu nad dokonaniem w tym zakresie zmian.
    The study provides considerations for becoming a reflective practitioner and innovator by special educators in the context of transformations of the modern world. In the reference to the pedagogical literature of the subject, such competences are considered important in preparing for the profession and day-to-day work of each teacher, including a special educator, but this is not sufficiently evident in the academic education and practice carried out. The text of the article is separated by subtitles. First, there are discussed the unexpected challenges and dynamic changes that education practices encountered at the turn of the second and third decades of the 21st century, mainly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Subsequently, attention has been drawn to the changing needs, but also to the drawbacks in the training of special educators and the possibility of pursuing the profession of special education teacher in an era of transformation of the education system. The presented considerations take into account the current context, in reference to the mechanisms of change taking place in the 21st century, focused on technological, political and cultural issues. As an important part of shaping the competence of a reflective practitioner and an innovator in the university students there is also considered their participation in the diploma seminar and their preparation of the thesis. This is discussed in conjunction with their academic activity which is created with the framework of their study plan in earlier years. The experiences acquired in this way should allow the future teachers the acquisition of skills for the daily work based on using scientific knowledge, doing research and diagnostic procedures (evidence-based practice). The current state of facts has been critically assessed, though. The conclusions inform that the need for and action taken to shape reflection and innovation in the academic education of future special educators as well as the need to improve these competences for active professionals is underestimated. It is therefore proposed to introduce changes in this regard.

    W artykule przedstawiono projekt wielokondygnacyjnego budynku mieszkalnego ze stropami przewieszonymi i płytą transferową. W pracy analizowano zastosowanie lekkiego betonu kruszywowego jako alternatywy betonu zwykłego, z którego wykonano stropy międzykondygnacyjne. Omówione różnice we właściwościach i sposobie projektowania konstrukcji z obu rodzajów betonu. Dokonano porównania wyników obliczeń - m.in. sił wewnętrznych, ugięć, jak również zapotrzebowania na zbrojenie, a także przedstawiono uproszczoną analizę ekonomiczną obu rozwiązań.
    The paper presents a design of the multi-storey residential building with overhang ceilings and transfer slab. The study analyses the use of lightweight aggregate concrete as an alternative to ordinary concrete, from which the inter-story ceilings were made. The differences in the properties and design principles of structural elements made of both types of concrete were discussed. The results of the calculations were compared - including i.a. internal forces, deflections and required reinforcement. A simplified economic analysis of both solutions was also presented.

    Artykuł realizuje dwa cele: jednym jest opis przebiegu pierwszej edycji konkursu prac licencjackich i magisterskich ukończonych w 2020 r. przez studentów kierunków prowadzonych w Uniwersytecie Łódzkim: Informacja w środowisku cyfrowym oraz Informatologia z biznesowym językiem angielskim. Drugim celem opracowania staje się nakreślenie tła dla łódzkich doświadczeń jako krótki przegląd działań, który obrazuje istniejące konkursy w sposób przekrojowy (tradycja i typy konkursów), przedstawia motywy i dążenia organizatorów (cele konkursów), a także dostarcza pewnych informacji odnośnie oceniania zgłoszonych prac (elementy oceny prac konkursowych). W tej części artykułu przydatnym źródłem okazały się materiały związane z konkursami (ogłoszenia, regulaminy) zamieszczone w Internecie.
    The article pursues two goals: one is the description of the course of the first edition of the Competition for bachelor’s and master’s thesis, completed in 2020 by students of conducted at the University of Lodz fields: “Information in the digital environment” and “Informatology with business English”. The second goal of the study is to outline the background for Lodz’s experience, as a short overview of activities that illustrates the existing competitions in a cross-sectional way (tradition and types of competitions), presents the motives and aspirations of the organizers (competition’s goals), and provides some information on the evaluation of submitted works (elements of the evaluation of competition entries). In this part of the article, materials related to competitions (announcements, regulations) posted on the Internet turned out to be a useful source.

    The article is devoted to the analysis of academic diploma theses: bachelor’s and master’s, carried out in the course of 1st and 2nd degree Romance Philology between 2005-2017 in the perspective of reflective practice. Based on the assumption of the pre-scientific character of the diploma thesis and the resulting imperative of objectivity, the aim of the article is to examine the traces of subjectivity present in the language of the diploma theses. The subject of interest is both subjectivity expressed in 1 singular person, but above all other, less obvious, more “constructed” forms (e.g. metaphors, expressive use of adjectives), which express the emotional commitment of the author of the work. In conclusion, the analysis of the works shows a conflict of paradigms: the scientific imperative of objectivism with the desire to express emotions aroused by literature, and in this indirect way, also to express one’s self and personality.

    Na podstawie analizy sprawy przejęcia pracy magisterskiej przez promotora i recenzenta oraz opublikowania jej w formie artykułu przedstawiono centralne problemy związane z elementami twórczymi w utworze (szczególnie utworze technicznym oraz pracy dyplomowej). W tym kontekście omówiono również kwestię zapożyczenia, a także różnych form współautorstwa w utworze technicznym oraz zasadności dopisywana się promotora pracy dyplomowej do publikacji, która powstała na jej podstawie.
    This study is based on a case from a leading Polish technical university in which a Master of Science dissertation was plagiarised by its supervisor and the reviewer in a subsequent scientific publication. The plagiarists not only stole the data, results and creative components from the author of the thesis but also purposely omitted the owner of this intellectual property from the authors’ list. This paper presents fundamental problems resulting from appropriation of data, results and creative components from academic publications that are protected by copyright. The issues discussed include detrimental consequences of spuriously adding academic theses’ supervisors as authors of publications which are extensively derived from these theses. Various forms of joint authorships are also discussed.

    The article contains a list of bachelor’s and master’s theses at the Faculty of Theology of  Nicolaus Copernicus University stored in the University Archive. The list covers the years 2001-2010. The theses are arranged in chronological and alphabetical order by the annual date of the final exam and the name of author's work in a given year. The information included in the catalogue comes from the UsosWeb system. Additionally, this article presents the tables; the first one contains data on the number of graduated students along with their supervisors, and the other one the number of the written works in different years. As the catalogue is an archival aid, the author also included currently valid rules for the use of theses in the Archive of  Nicolaus Copernicus University.

    Opis:
    Samuel Dickstein founded the journal Wiadomości Matematyczne in Warszaw, of which he edited and published 47 volumes in the years 1897–1939. One of them (volume XXV, 1921) presented the scientific work (thesis) of the famous 19th century scholar and teacher – Ignacy Domeyko (1802–1889). It was written in 1822 to obtain a master’s degree in philosophy at University of Vilna (Wilno, now Vilnius). The original manuscript of I. Domeyko is has not been preserved.This report reveals the circumstances and content of the master’s dissertation written by I. Domeyko.
    Samuel Dickstein założył czasopismo Wiadomości Matematyczne w Warszawie, a w latach 1897–1939 redagował i publikował 47 tomów. W jednym z nich (tom XXV, 1921) zaprezentowano pracę naukową (praca magisterska) słynnego XIX wieku uczonego i nauczyciela – Ignacego Domeyko (1802–1889), który został napisany w 1822 roku w celu uzyskania tytułu magistra filozofii na Uniwersytecie w Vilna (Wilno, obecnie Vilnius). Oryginalny rękopis I. Domeyko zniknął.Artykuł ten ujawnia okoliczności i treść pracy magisterskiej napisanej przez I. Domeyko.
