Opis:
The application of phosphorescence for the modification of face mask materials is motivated by the need to appreciably increase their visibility while using graphical elements with a relatively small area. Phosphorescent dyes absorb part of the visible spectrum while emitting radiation at wavelengths that are longer than the absorbed ones. Thus, a phosphorescent substance can emit light even if it is not being illuminated at a given time (but was before). This paper describes studies of the optical properties based on parameters such as the reflectance coefficient, chromaticity coordinates, as well as luminance measured from digital images for two models of smog-protective face half-masks differing in terms of their inner layer with filtration properties and outer printed layer. The external surface of one mask type is printed with a phosphorescent solid star pattern, while the other with a phosphorescent open star pattern. The influence of the inner filter layer was assessed in correlation with the colour of the outer layer and the type of printing. Moreover, the phenomenon of phosphorescence was identified. The study resulted in developing a material with properties providing better visibility under defined use conditions.

Since March 11, 2020, the global community has faced the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, numerous countries, including the Republic of Lithuania, mandated the wearing of face masks to curb the virus’s spread. Yet, a section of the Lithuanian populace resisted this move, voicing concerns about the inconvenience of mask-wearing and potential privacy infringements. These concerns endured, even amidst debates on the masks’ effectiveness. This article explores how the Lithuanian public responded to mask-wearing protocols during the pandemic. Survey analysis highlighted a troubling trend: many individuals dispose of face masks with their regular trash, often without proper packaging. Most masks are sourced from pharmacies or are provided by employers and are typically thrown away after just one day of use. The data underscores a significant knowledge gap in correct mask disposal, as a significant portion ends up mingled with general household waste, without proper containment. Moreover, many people keep used masks in pockets or bags. Notably, during the pandemic, an estimated 2 mln adult Lithuanians may have generated roughly 15.24 Mg of hazardous plastic waste through mask disposal.

Introduction and aim. Face masks used to protect against the COVID 19 pandemic have become a daily routine. The aim of this study was to examine the possible effects of mask use on non-stress test (NST) results during pregnancy. Material and methods. A total of 951 pregnant women were included in the study. They were divided into two groups as those who wear masks and those who do not. These pregnant women were also divided into subgroups as preterm and term periods. Results. The mean age of the pregnant women was 31.2±4.9 and their gestational weeks were between 34+0 and 40+6. There was no significant difference between 34 and 37 gestational weeks pregnants in terms of FHR, reactivity, non-reactivity, deceleration, FHR category distribution and number of fetal movements (p>0.05). The variability was significantly higher in those who did not wear a mask (p37 gestational weeks there was no significant difference in terms of FHR, reactivity, non-reactivity, variability, deceleration and FHR category distribution (p>0.05). The number of fetal movements was significantly (p<0.05) lower in the mask-wearing group. Conclusion. Mask use should be considered in NSTs where variability is reduced or fetal movements are low. Thus, misinterpretation of the NST can be avoided.

This paper deals with the Kundera’s most popular novel as a passionate dialogue with kitsch. The Unbearable Lightness of Being is based on the antinomy of lightness and heaviness, as well as kitsch and individuality. The narrator treats his characters as the experimental ego and confronts them with the reality created on the cross-scheme of those key-words mentioned above. Kundera interprets the phenomenon of Kitsch as the tool to create a totalitarian reality and slave human beings, but also as something, that can be recognize and ‘domesticate’, and then comprise an inalienable part of human existence and its relation to the world. Paper also deals with the Kundera’s famous aversion to film his novels. He banned any further film adaptations of his work, having disliked the way The Unbearable Lightness of Being had been adapted by Philip Kaufman in 1988.

Opis:
We know that oxygen therapy plays one of the important role for treating hypoxemia and it is widely used across a whole range of specialties and it involves administration of oxygen at concentrations greater than that in ambient air. We are reporting the first case of twisting of reservoir bag on using non-rebreathing face mask for providing supplemental oxygen in awake prone position in a 60 year old male tested COVID-19 positive. To prevent this twisting we recommend if a manufacturer do slight modification in making of these non-breathing face mask by adding a 1-2 cm L- shaped Plastic connector to the neck end of the oxygen reservoir bag. The sudden deflation of these reservoir bag not only increase the dead space, decrease alveolar ventilation but substantially compromised the gas exchange. So any twisting of these non-rebreathing face mask should be avoided. This twisting may compromise the patient condition due to rapid increase in PaCO2 and detrimental in patients with restrictive airway disease. On keeping the patient in prone position the twisting of the reservoir bag frequently occurs and this simple and useful modification may be beneficial for supplementation of oxygen therapy to COVID-19 patients requiring high fractional inspired oxygen concentration.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present human issues in the context of the face and the mask as its negative. This is to bring us closer to a better diagnosis of the human condition today and the changes that can be articulated on its basis. Both the face and the mask are multi-context, and any attempt to define them encounters a number of difficulties. In Józef Tischner’s philosophy of drama, the face is a condition for the essence of the meeting. On the other hand, the mask, as an appearance and falsification of the truth of the face, is placed in the ambiguous perspective of hiding, concealing, mystifying or obscuring or obscuring the image of the face. Thanks to the face, man is somehow “at home”, and in the bonds of the mask he is somewhat “out of place”, he is lying. The face is relational and the mask is reactionary. Inquiries about whether the face brings closer and reveals the naked being of a human intensified questions about the nature of the face itself and whether it is possible to reach the pure phenomenon of the face as such. Both the face and the mask reveal important moments in the characteristics of a human being as a dramatic being, in which questions about meaning, identity, freedom and responsibility, as well as what is “between” I and You, gain in intensity and imply new attempts to reveal who is a human.

Opis:
Sprzęt ochrony układu oddechowego należy do najpopularniejszych środków ochrony indywidualnej, stosowanych głównie w przemyśle spożywczym, budowlanym, chemicznym, a przede wszystkim wydobywczym.
Respiratory protective devices are the most common personal protective equipment in food industry, architecture, chemical industry and, most of all, in miming. Users of full face masks, particle filters and filtering half-masks are especially concerned about their safety parameters under real conditions; however, whether that equipment will be used also depends on its usability and additional functions. This paper presents the role of standardization and amendments (changes) to standards in improving the technical level of products, using respiratory protection equipment as an example. The introduction of new requirements related to safety and functional parameters has a direct influence on the use of novel materials, designs and manufacturing methods in these products to ensure their high quality, and safety and functional properties during their lifetime.

The Covid 19 (coronavirus) pandemic has become one of the most lethal health crises worldwide. This virus gets transmitted from a person by respiratory droplets when they sneeze or when they speak. According to leading and well‐known scientists, wearing face masks and maintain‐ ing six feet of social distance are the most substantial protections to limit the virus’s spread. In the proposed model we have used the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm of Deep Learning (DL) to ensure efficient real‐time mask detection. We have divided the system into two parts—1. Train Face Mask Detector 2. Apply Face Mask Detector—for better understanding. This is a real‐ time application that is used to discover or detect the person who is wearing a mask at the proper position or not, with the help of camera detection. The system has achieved an accuracy of 99% after being trained with the dataset, which contains around 1376 images of width and height 224×224 and also gives the alarm beep message after the detection of no mask or improper mask usage in a public place.

Opis:
Masks are the primary tool used to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the current pandemic. Tests were carried out to determine the total pressure drop through the materials from which the masks are made and the correlation of these results with the concentration of carbon dioxide in the inner space of the mask. The results showed that a parameter representing hydraulic losses of the mask material has a significant influence on the concentration of carbon dioxide in the inner space of the mask. Masks with higher hydraulic resistances accumulated a higher concentration of carbon dioxide, and generated greater fluctuations of carbon dioxide as a function of time, which may be caused by compensation of the respiratory system. For example, in a two-layer mask (mask no. 3) the hydraulic resistance values are about three times higher than in a single-layer mask (mask no. 1). The study also noticed that the inscriptions and prints placed on the masks increase the hydraulic resistance of the material from which the masks are made, which may also contribute to the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the space between the mask and the face. To reduce the accumulation of carbon dioxide within the inner space of the mask, the results of this work suggest searching for mask materials with the lowest possible hydraulic resistance.

In this article we present the contemporary approach to the theological understanding of the concept of person according to the theodramatical current of thought represented by H. U. von Balthasar and J. Tischner. We describe the basic anthropological (agathological–dialogical) and teological (christological– trinitological) aspects characteristic for the approach of both authors. We pay a particular attention to the original contribution of Balthasar and Tischner in the analyzed problem, especially as far as the application of theatrological terminology to the considerations regarding the theological notion of person is concerned. The axis of the analysis is the comparison of the two key theatrological–theological analogies regarding the notion of person introduced by the above mentioned authors concerning respectively the relation role–mission (Balthasar) and mask–face (Tischner).
