This article presents the concept of marriage love in terms of education. Marriage love is defined as „attitude” including marriage of inclusivity and uniqueness of each of the spouses. Marriage love begins at home and family since the first moments of child's life. Then, in fact, parents satisfy needs of love and belonging, their child and develop his or her ability to love. The child observes their parents and learns from them what is love and how it should look in the future. The element of education for marriage love is the preparation which covers the period of engagement, religious instruction, premarital education, counseling meetings in family life and confession. It is time that the spouses should come to know themselves, their future plans, learn how to communicate and cope with conflicts. Parents' love is the kind of foundation for the later child's love for his or her spouse and gives a shape its expectations for the other person.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of article is to examine the principles of and conditions for contracting a valid and successful marriage among members of the landed classes in fifteenth century England and Poland. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: An analysis of marriages contracted in medieval England and Poland was carried out using a comparative approach. Authentic fifteenth-century sources were consulted, such as the Paston letters in the case of England, and – for lack of a similar collection in the Polish archives – documents such as court records, episcopal statutes, annals or chronicles, and others, in the case of Poland.THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article first presents factors determining the choice of spouses, including socio-economic, political and emotional. Secondly, the ways of conducting prenuptial negotiations are presented. The final section is focused on the exchange of the marriage vows.RESEARCH RESULTS: The comparison of practices related to marriage contracts in medieval England and Poland shows that even though love matches are less well documented than marriages of convenience, love did take precedence over custom in a number of cases in both countries, with the only absolutely necessary condition for contracting a valid marriage being verba de praesenti (the words of present consent) exchanged by the partners.CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The added value of the analysis was to reveal certain differences between English and Polish literary cultures. While in fifteenth century England personal letters were written in the vernacular, in Poland the letters, as well as other historical sources, were still largely composed in Latin by professional writers. These still need to be translated into modern Polish and English if they are to be accessible to a wider audience.

Opis:
H. G. Wells’s The New Machiavelli (1911) was the bold statement of the rights of women in the new century. It was, of course, useless to deny that The New Machiavelli had a sexual base. The sexual relations between men and women had come to dominate Wells’s mind, and it was going to be an important topic in his books. Wells’s novel, which is a cry of anger against the oppressive conventions of society, is in part based on autobiographical details of Wells’s own life, his affair in 1908 with Amber Reeves, a brilliant Cambridge graduate. Central to Wells’s doctrines of male-female relationships is his understanding of the duality of love. Wells stresses the importance of two people loving each other at the level of the mind as well as the body. Work is considered by Wells as important as sexual relationship. In both cases the dual nature of love, that is fulfilment both physically and spiritually, is deemed necessary for a true and satisfactory relationship. In his feminist texts Wells distinguishes clearly between male ideals of marriage and womanhood, and emancipated female characters who are aware of what they are doing, but consider it their right and privilege to lead the kind of life they wish to, and are prepared to take the consequences.

Opis:
Among various forms of sanctity, implemented in various forms of life and activity of believers, the vocation as spouses, implemented in a particular act of giving yourself to another person, constitutes a specific type  of sanctity. This acts mirrors Christ’s gift of love given to His Church. Parental and educational role of spouses indicates the existence of dual dimension: natural and transcendental one. As far as nature is concerned, spouses engage actively in social development by bearing and rearing offspring, transmitting values that humanize a person and society. In case of the transcendental dimension, the parental and educational act of spouses constitutes cooperation in the creative act of God, creating a human “in the likeness and image” of God (Genesis 1, 27) and is participation in the act improving the development of the world, in line with the will of the Creator (cf. Genesis 1, 28). That is why, the primacy of Christian upbringing of children, thanks to which a new person acquires an integral dimension, should play important role in a Christian family, especially in its educational role.

Małżeństwu niezależnie od jego rozumienia (związek, instytucja, wspólnota, system) stanowiącemu fundament rodziny, jako wspólnoty z racji bliskich, intymnych więzi oraz zadań i funkcji realizowanych na rzecz społeczeństwa należy przypisać niebagatelne znaczenie, tak z perspektywy funkcjonowania społeczeństwa, jak i jednostki. Coraz częściej we współczesnym społeczeństwie ulega ono rozpadowi, wskutek rozwodu, interpretowanego w epoce kultury ponowoczesnej jako prawo do godnego życia. Nie jest więc już zgodnie z założeniami ustawodawcy instytucją trwałą. Istotnego znaczenia nabiera więc problematyka szczęścia małżeńskiego, jako swoistego „spoiwa” stosunków między małżonkami, a tym samym swoistego gwaranta trwałości związku. Artykuł stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na pytania: co oznacza pojęcie szczęście oraz szczęście małżeńskie? Jakie są jego fundamenty w kontekście wzajemnego funkcjonowania małżonków? Jakie są jego uwarunkowania? Artykuł powstał w oparciu o wyniki badań diagnostycznych przeprowadzonych wśród 103 mieszkańców Podkarpacia pozostających w związku małżeńskim powyżej dziesięciu lat. Okazało się, iż doświadczanie poczucia szczęścia warunkowane jest przede wszystkim dobrą sytuacją mieszkaniową oraz względnie wysokim statusem materialnym. Wyniki badań wskazują, iż nie ma związku pomiędzy doświadczaniem poczucia szczęścia a długością znajomości przedślubnej, czy też okresem wspólnego zamieszkiwania przed zawarciem małżeństwa, bądź długością funkcjonowania w nim partnerów i wielkością rodziny. Natomiast fundamenty owego szczęścia, to wskazywane w literaturze przedmiotu: miłość, kształtowanie więzi, komunikacja, przeświadczenie o trwałości związku. Słowa
In spite of understanding the notion of marriage (relationship, institution, community or system) it is undoubtedly the basis of family as community because of close, intimate bonds between people and because of its function for society and individual person. In modern society, the marriage is more and more common to disintegrate, and divorce, in the post modern time is interpreted as right for decent quality of life. Therefore it is no more a constant institution. The problematics of happiness in marriage is being more important as it is seen as binding material between married couple and their guarantee of relationship permanence. In this article the author tries to answer following questions- What is happiness and what is happiness in marriage? What are its basis in context of married couple functioning? What are happiness conditions? This article is based on research conducted among 103 inhabitants of Podkarpacie region, who are in marriage relationship longer than 10 years. The results indicate that feeling of happiness is conditioned by good housing status and relatively high material status. The research results show that there is no connection between feeling of happiness and length of before-marriage acquaintance, time of cohabitance before marriage or structure of family. While basis of this happiness are pointed in love, shaping bonds, communication and belief of relationship constancy.

Miłość małżeńska przedstawiana jest przez różne dyscypliny naukowe jako fundament życia małżeńskiego. Teologia oraz psychologia, choć wykazują podobieństwa w interpretacji miłości, to jednak dla obu dyscyplin naukowych są to różne pojęcia. Zasadnicza różnica dotyczy źródeł jej pochodzenia. Teologia wskazuje na Boga, natomiast dla psychologii to relacja pojawiająca się jedynie między małżonkami. Dla teologii miłość małżeńska jest fundamentem sakramentalnego związku, jest podstawowym i wrodzonym powołaniem każdej osoby ludzkiej. Realizowana w małżeństwie prowadzi do świętości małżonków. Psychologia natomiast w miłości małżeńskiej widzi warunek podnoszenia jakości i stabilności związku mężczyzny i kobiety. Artykuł podejmuje analizę miłości małżeńskiej z perspektywy obu dyscyplin naukowych w życiu świętych małżonków: Luigiego i Marii Quattrocchi oraz Louisa i Zelii Martin. Dwie części artykułu prezentują kolejno teologiczne oraz psychologiczne rozumienie miłości. Natomiast w części trzeciej artykułu zawarte zostały przykłady miłości małżeńskiej w życiu obu małżeństw. Wypowiedzi pochodzące z listów małżeńskich i rodzinnych to realna rozmowa członków rodziny czyniona na użytek własny, domowy. Teksty źródłowe o charakterze autobiograficznym potwierdzają miłość małżeńską w życiu obu par w ujęciu teologicznym i psychologicznym.
Love in marriage is presented by different scientific disciplines as a foundation of married life. Although theology and psychology reveal similar meaning of love, they are different approaches for both scientific disciplines. The sources of love constitute the key difference. Theology points to God as the source of love, while psychology sees love as a relationship between spouses. For theology, conjugal love is the foundation of the sacramental relationship, it is the basic and innate vocation of every human person – realized in marriage, leads to the sanctity of the spouses. Psychology, on the other hand, recognizes spousal love as a requirement for improving the quality and stability of the relationship between a man and a woman. The article evaluates marital love from the perspective of both scientific disciplines in the lives of holy spouses: Luigi and Maria Quattrocchi, and also Louis and Zelie Martin. The two parts of the article successively present theological and psychological understanding of love. While the third part of the article introduces examples of love in marriage in the life of both couples. Statements from marital and family correspondence form a real conversation between family members conducted for private, domestic reasons. The source texts of an autobiographical character confirm the presence of marital love in the lives of both couples in its theological and psychological understanding.

Miłość w małżeństwie stanowi podstawę funkcjonowania tak małżonków, jak i całej rodziny. Szczęście w rodzinie uwarunkowane jest wieloma czynnikami, m.in. świadomością, że małżeństwo jest relacją najważniejszą, umiejętnością dobrej komunikacji, właściwymi granicami, aktywnością i elastycznością oraz przestrzeganiem zasad moralnych, a także nierozerwalnością małżeństwa, wartością dialogu, wychowywaniem dzieci. Wskazane treści zostaną zaznaczone w niniejszym artykule.
Love in a marriage is a fundation of fuctioning both spouses and a whole family. The family is a prime mover of what pay attention, bring hope, arouse expectations, demand progress. It is an inner need which overhelms each man who wants to be a gift for everybody. A family make a man feels happy but he needs to care for it. Happieness in a family is based on a lot of factors, for example awareness that in marriage the most important is relationship, good communication, appriopriate borders, engagement and flexibility and code of ethics or. values as well as indissolubility of marriage, a value of dialogue, parenting. Such contents are emphasized in the article.

Każdy człowiek doświadcza miłości. Jest ona wpisana w ludzkie życie. W świetle nauczania Kościoła miłość jest cnotą, dzięki której człowiek może miłować Boga i bliźnich. Szczególny wymiar ma miłość małżeńska, ponieważ odzwierciedla ona miłość Boga do człowieka. Nieodpowiednie przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej wynika z niezrozumienia jej istoty. Miłość jest podstawą jedności małżeństwa oraz realizowanych w nim wartości. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej we Wspólnocie Przyjaciele Oblubieńca. Przeprowadzone badania dowiodły, że należy zwrócić uwagę na kształtowanie postawy wzajemności w relacjach wielu par małżeńskich. Obszar stanowiący wyzwanie dla formacji związany jest także z przeżywaniem małżeńskiej więzi seksualnej. Duszpasterską troską należy objąć dojrzewanie miłości małżeńskiej.
Everyone experiences love. It is inscribed in human life. In the light of the Church’s teaching, love is a virtue through which one can love God and others. Marital love has a special dimension because it reflects God’s love for humans. A confused experience of marital love results from a misunderstanding of its essence. Love is the basis of the unity of marriage and the values realized in it. This article presents the experience of marital love in Friends of the Bridegroom Community. The conducted research showed that attention should be paid to shaping the attitude of reciprocity in the relations of many married couples. An area that is challenging for formation is also associated with experiencing marital sexual bond. Pastoral care should embrace the maturation of marital love.

Wedle przekonania Kościoła małżeństwo chrześcijan jest sakramentem. Od momentu zawarcia małżeństwa sakramentalnego wszystkie inne więzi są mniej ważne od więzi z małżonkiem. Jedność i nierozerwalność małżeństwa płynąca z miłości oblubieńczej Chrystusa do Kościoła czyni także małżeństwo znakiem sakramentalnym. Szczęśliwe małżeństwo i trwała rodzina to zdecydowanie najlepsze, najbardziej korzystne, miejsce na tej ziemi dla dzielenia się miłością, dla tworzenia klimatu bezpieczeństwa, dla radosnego wychowania dzieci, dla wspólnego dorastania do świętości.
According to the teaching of the Church, Christian marriage is a sacrament - spouses approach the covenant with God, offered in the Sacrament of Matrimony, who transforms their conjugal love in and through Christ in it. That is why since entering in marriage no other bond is as important for the spouses as the marital bond. Unity and irrevocability which originate from Christ’s love for his Church make every Catholic marriage a sign of this sacrament. The community of love which is formed in marriage is one of the deepest sources of happiness in human life. In such a perspective, marriage seems to be the best environment, conducive to fostering human love and bringing up the resultant offspring. Marriage also signifies collaboration in the salvation of the beloved, i.e. supernaturally transfigured conjugal love aims at the eternal welfare of the marital partner and is the way to sanctify each of the spouses.

Love is an important integrating factor of the marital-family life. It is not a legal entity; however, it plays a very important role in the life of man. Without love spouses are deprived of stimuli which contribute greatly and enable to achieve goals set for the marriage. When there is no love between fiancées, one of them might become alienated, they may also be unwilling to get married as result, which in turn would lead to declaring their marriage invalid in both cases. Marital love is crucial to ensure the expression of ma-rital harmony between husband and wife properly and to perform conjugal and parental duties in a responsible way. The Roman Catholic Church, from the beginning of its apostolic activity, has protected the value of marriage and family with constant prayer, special concern and the blessing. Marital love has a primary importance in the entire community of life of a mar-ried couple. It is essential for their mutual and full development. Love is an important integrating factor of the marital life. Marital love facilitates the execution of tasks that spouses and then parents have to do. Excluding the above-mentioned goals set for the marriage as well as defects in the agreement between the spouses result in the fact the marriage is invalid. Responsible marriage is inseparable of love, which should be the basis for the conjugal life of the couple. There is no denying that love of the spouses, whose desire is to live together, contributes greatly to the marital harmony between husband and wife and stimulates mutual devotion and acceptance of the couple.

Autor odwołuje się przede wszystkim do pewnych intuicji z filozoficznej antropologii (zwłaszcza z kręgu personalizmu i filozofii spotkania). Indywidualną tożsamość osoby pojmuje jako dynamiczną wartość ukierunkowaną na własny nieskończony wzrost. Takie jej rozumienie pozwala na uzasadnienie koniecznego związku pomiędzy trzema konstytutywnymi dla rodziny momentami: miłością, małżeństwem i rodzicielstwem.
The article is heading in the direction of the philosophical definition of family. The aim is to flag up certain theoretical tools that talking about family the maximum overall language and allow valuation of her increasingly violent change. The author refers primarily to some of the insights of philosophical anthropology (especially from the circle of personalism and the philosophy of dialogue). The individual identity of the person is understood as a dynamic value oriented towards its infinite growth. Such her understanding enables us to justify the necessary connection between the three constitutive moments for the family: love, marriage and parenthood.

Thesis Informal relationships are very popular in modern times. The number of people choosing marriage is slowly decreasing. The author of the article discerns the similarities and differences between cohabitation and marriage. The author puts forward the thesis that it is impossible to assess whether marriage is superior to cohabitation and vice versa. Concept The author presents the definitions and legal regulations of marriage and cohabitation. Additionally she lists the types of cohabitation and types of marriage. Results and conclusion In times of "liquid postmodernity" one should accept the coexistence of marriage and cohabitation, without assessing which of these forms is better, more beneficial, richer. Originality/Cognitive value In the subject literature cohabitation is presented as a short-term relationship, deprived of mutual obligations of partners, based only on sexual attachment and living together. It stands in opposition to marriage, which is as a permanent relationship based on mutual obligations of spouses and a strong emotional bond.

Contemporary socio-cultural changes and the mentality associated mainly with individualism have a significant impact on marriage and family. This is manifested not only in the change of the concept of marriage and family, but also in delaying the decision of marriage, alternative forms of marital life, acceptance of divorces and infidelity, as well as transformation in the understanding and realization of the procreative function of marriage. The report published by CBOS in January 2010 presenting the results of the studies on the procreation attitudes of Poles shows that the vast majority of respondents under 30 years of age are planning to have an offspring, but there are also those who do not intend to have children. There are many reasons for this approach to procreation, and the phenomenon of voluntary exclusion of children from marital life is referred to as childfree by choice. Although childlessness affects nowadays many marriage couples, and it has its roots in various biological and social reasons, being childfree by choice is a conscious attitude of exclusion offspring from marital life, in a situation where parenting is possible, based on different motives and not just for some defined period of time in marriage, but for the whole martial life. The phenomenon of childfree by choice is the subject of researches of various sciences, including sociology, psychology, anthropology, cultural studies and philosophy. The childfree by choice, understood as a specific attitude to formation of marital life, is also an interest of moral theology, especially of its important branch which is the morality of marriage and family life. The following text is an attempt to assess the problem of the childfree by choice from the perspective of catholic moral theology and its confrontation with the core values associated with the meaning of marriage and family life. One of the fundamental values of marriage is the vocation of spouses to parenthood, the negation of which is the attitude to the childfree by choice. Another problem that arises in connection with the conscious resignation by spouses of parenting is the understanding of the nature of spousal love, which is the foundation of marriage. Childfree by choice is an attitude justified by the spouses with different reasons, including responsibility, which makes it important to confront the issue from the perspective of the concept closely connected with married life, namely responsible parenthood. Marriage and the fulfillment of its procreative function is for the catholic moral theology an important social value, consequently also from this point of view the attitude of conscious choice of childfree in marriage was analyzed.

Benedict XVI, in encyclic Deus caritas est, showed the ideal of conjugal love. He reminded ancient words: eros, amor, philia, agape, caritas and explained their meaning. He discussed the issue of conjugal love in the context of Christian love, taking into consideration love as a divine gift and its sacramental dimension and reflecting the love of Jesus Christ to the Church. He himself makes a perfect sacrifice, dies for his Church. So also, the spouses make a sacrifice for the other, beloved person. The Christian approach to love, with its moral aspects, presents it as a way to holiness, taking into account the sinfulness of human nature. The anthropological dimension of conjugal love is sanctified when the spouses renounce their „I” direct themselves to „you”, and transform into „we” by the grace and blessing received from God. The Eucharist is the source of conjugal love. An important aspect of marriage is social reference, understood as caritas.
