    Autor artykułu prezentuje treści dwudziestu kilku modlitw papieża Franciszka zanoszonych do Matki Bożej w różnych miejscach jej kultu. Ojciec Święty oddaje w nich cześć Maryi, używając przy tym Jej różnych, ściśle teologicznych tytułów: Matko Niepokalana, Święta Dziewico, Matko Boża, Matko Jezusa, bądź też takich, które sam utworzył: Matko ciszy, piękna, czułości, Niewiasto decydująca, działania – działająca, Matko nasza, a które ukazują, kim dla niego, jak i wiernych jest w istocie Maryja. Szczególnie uderzająca wydaje się żarliwość, z jaką Franciszek błaga „Matkę strapionych”, aby wstawiała się u miłosiernego Boga i u swego Syna Odkupiciela za poszczególne stany Ludu Bożego, zwłaszcza za cierpiących na duchu z powodu grzechu oraz na ciele, tj. za ofiary niesprawiedliwości, za ubogich, chorych, prześladowanych. Oznacza to, że Franciszek zdołał w swych w modlitwach zakodować głęboką mariologię ujawniającą się w żywej pobożności maryjnej.
    The author of the article presents the content of more than twenty prayers of Pope Francis addressed to Our Lady in various Shrines dedicated to Her. The Holy Father honors Mary in them, using her various, strictly theological titles: (Immaculate Mother, Holy Virgin, Mother of God, Mother of Jesus), or those that he himself has formed: (Mother of silence, beauty, tenderness, Woman of decisions, actions, our Mother). At the same time, he shows who in fact Mary is for him as well as for the faithful. Pope Francis’ zealwith which he pleads with the “Mother of the Afflicted” seems particularly striking. He begs Our Lady so that She would intercede with the merciful God and with her Son, the Redeemer on behalf of individual statuses of the People of God, especially for those suffering in spirit because of sin and in the body, i.e. for the victims of injustice, for the poor, the sick and the persecuted. This means that Pope Francis managed to code in his prayers a profound Mariology that manifests itself in a living Marian devotion.

    The object of the article is to characterize the transformations of the contemporary pilgrimage movement. The focus is on the pilgrims who arrive in selected places of Marian cult in Greater Poland. They are described using demographic variables such as: sex, age, place of residence, profession and education. An attempt has been made to show the specificity of the shrines in the context of the pilgrimage movement. The results presented here are the effect of many years of questionnaire surveys and archive research conducted at selected cultic sites in Greater Poland: Gostyń, Licheń, Górka Klasztorna, Górka Duchowna and in Rokitno.Contemporary pilgrimage movement is gaining impetus especially in Poland. The beginnings of the process date back to the postwar years when after the end of the Second World War a rapid growth of the pilgrimage movement was noted. In effect of the change of political system underway at that time, a marked regress in pilgrimages took place in the years 1948 - 1965. But already from 1965 onward a slow development of the movement could be  observed.Transformations in the pilgrimage movement pertain not only to the number of pilgrimaging persons but above all to changes in the forms and routes of pilgrimages. Collective peregrinations organized by parishes or prayer groups usually choose for their destinations large pilgrimage centres of international renown and not necessarily the ones located in Poland. For instance, in the 1980s Rome was a major destination as Poles wanted to attend meetings with Pope John Paul   II.Individual pilgrimaging is still significant in Poland. It is worth noting that this type of pilgrimaging is very different in character from collective peregrinations.

    Artykuł prezentuje rzadko dotąd uwzględniany w badaniach nad historią sanktuarium maryjnego w Loreto literacki opis tego miejsca ułożony przez bł. Baptystę Mantuana (1447–1516) – czołowego poetę chrześcijańskiego epoki renesansu. Powstanie utworu związane jest z krótkim epizodem z historii Bazyliki Loretańskiej, kiedy opiekę nad nią sprawowali karmelici. Sam bł. Baptysta Mantuanus należał do tego zakonu i był jednym z głównych promotorów jego odnowy duchowej w końcu XV wieku. Dzieło stanowi zarazem jeden z licznych wyrazów osobistej pobożności maryjnej poety. Artykuł udostępnia po raz pierwszy polskie tłumaczenie i opracowanie naukowe tekstu, który krótko po napisaniu zdobył niemałą popularność i został przełożony na język włoski jeszcze w XV wieku. Dzieło bł. Baptysty Mantuana składa się z trzech zasadniczych części: opisu cudownego przeniesienia Świętego Domku do Italii, prezentacji wydarzeń związanych z rozbudową sanktuarium i powierzeniem pieczy nad nim karmelitom, ukazania wyjątkowości Loreto poprzez zestawienie z miejscami z historii zbawienia.
    The article explores the literary description of the Marian shrine at Loreto written by Blessed Baptista Mantuanus (1447–1516), a prominent Christian poet of the Renaissance. Despite its historical significance, this work has received little attention in the research on the shrine. The origins of the text can be traced back to a brief period in the history of the Loreto Basilica when it was under the administration of the Carmelites, the order to which Blessed Baptista Mantuanus belonged. He played a crucial role in the spiritual renewal of the order at the end of the 15th century, and his personal devotion to the Virgin Mary is reflected in the work. For the first time, this article presents a Polish translation and a scholarly analysis of the text. Written in the 15th century, the work gained popularity and was translated into Italian shortly after its publication. It is divided into three main parts: a description of the miraculous transfer of the Holy House to Italy, an account of the events related to the expansion of the sanctuary and the Carmelites’ stewardship, and a demonstration of the exceptional nature of Loreto by comparing it to other places in salvation history.

    Zamierzeniem autora artykułu jest ukazanie Maryi jako Tej, która stanowi istotne oparcie dla osób niepełnosprawnych, pomaga im przezwyciężyć poczucie beznadziejności, przełamać osamotnienie, podjąć zmagania o życie wieczne. Patrząc na Maryję, możemy dostrzec sens życia niezamykający się w pełnej sukcesów działalności zawodowej. W osiągnięciu tego celu ma pomóc spojrzenie na inspirowane wiarą chrześcijańską przejawy polskiej myśli od XIX do początku XXI wieku, takie jak podręczniki mariologii, artykuły teologiczne, kazania, homilie, rozważania, świadectwa świętych czy wybitne dzieła literatury. Rzecz jasna, praca nie rości sobie pretensji do uwzględnienia wszystkich źródeł z tego okresu. Chodzi w niej o pokazanie głównych elementów podejmowanej problematyki.
    The Virgin Mary, as the one present next to the cross of her Son, shows compassionate care to people with disabilities who have limited possibilities of working and living independently. She gives them her strength, uplifts them, protects from doubt, loss of hope and temptation of despair. She shows them the way out of loneliness. Mary cares for the eternal salvation of the people with disabilities. At times the blind, the deaf, the mute, the lame and the paralyzed regain their health. She calls on the disciples of Christ to show solidarity, care and attention to people with disabilities. She is a Mother whom it is worth to know and love. She shows the people with disabilities a path of prayer and offering one’s suffering for others. She helps them to see the beauty and meaning of their life. Pilgrimages to Marian shrines are a special way to encounter the Virgin Mary.
