    Opis:
    Isoline maps of percentage of pollen, obtained for different time horizons through the Holocene, are a typical tool for palaeobotanical studies. In connection with the West Carpathian project the authors have developed the idea of graphically presenting on the map a rate of change of the pollen percentage. Such a map is based on the data from two time horizons. The precision of such a type of map, which shows the %/change/100 yrs, and in which the value can be negative as well as positive, is lower that of a typical isopollen map. However, this type of map gives a direct insight into changes in the plant cover, which are related to climate change.

    Opis:
    Sposoby kartograficznego prezentowania dynamiki zjawisk są słabo rozwiniętym zagadnieniem w kartografii. Nie istnieją sprecyzowane zasady redakcji takich map, dlatego podczas ich tworzenia kartograf często napotyka na liczne trudności. Głównym celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie możliwości oprogramowania GIS do opracowania tego typu map. Narzędzia GIS umożliwiają rozwiązanie problemów, do których zaliczyć można: zbieranie i łączenie różnorodnych danych w jednym miejscu, analizę posiadanych danych, prezentację zróżnicowanych w czasie danych na mapie. Badania przeprowadzono w obrębie aktualnych granic warszawskiej dzielnicy Ochota. Przeanalizowano zmiany i określono stan dynamiki rozwoju dzielnicy. Ostatecznym wynikiem tych badań jest wskazanie czynników wpływających na rozwój dzielnicy. Nadal poszukuje się najlepszych sposobów na przedstawienie dynamiki zjawiska, a odpowiednie używanie narzędzi GIS pozwala uwzględnić specyfikę zjawiska, jak również wykonanie ich poprawnie pod względem kartograficznym.
    The cartographic presentation methods of dynamic phenomena are an underdeveloped issue in cartography. Editorial principles for such maps have not been specified, so cartographers often encounter many difficulties when they are created. The main objective of this article is to present the GIS software capabilities to develop these types of maps. GIS tools can solve the problems, which can include collecting and combining diverse data in one place, data analysis or presentation of large amounts of data on a map. The study was conducted within the Ochota district of Warsaw. Changes and the status of dynamics of development of the district were analysed. The final result of this study was identification of factors affecting the development of the district. The best ways to present a dynamic phenomenon are still being sought, and appropriate use of GIS tools allows to consider specific features of the phenomenon, as well as to present them according to the rules of cartography.

    W artykule przedstawiono główne problemy metodyczne dotyczące badania i prezentacji zmian na mapach. Przedmiotem i obszarem badań była infrastruktura turystyczna w rejonie Roztoczańskiego Parku Narodowego. Zaprezentowano charakterystykę obiektów, wyjaśniono znaczenie doboru materiałów źródłowych i wydzielenia okresów czasowych, omówiono cechy prezentacji kartograficznej ruchu i zmian stanu oraz przedstawiono wybrane problemy redagowania map stanów, map wielofazowych oraz map typów. Rozważania teoretyczno-metodyczne zilustrowano kilkoma przykładami.
    Cartographic methods of presentation are often used in tourist research not only by geographers but also by many specialists from other fields. They use maps to present results of their research. The article is an example of using cartographic methods of presentation for research and visualization of tourist issues on maps. It contains a summary of main methodological problems connected to research and presentation of changes in tourist infrastructure on maps. Tourist infrastructure is one of the most important elements of tourist space. Its distribution and changes can be researched and presented on maps. Presentation of changes of objects, phenomena, and processes on maps is a relatively difficult issue, because of its dynamic character, requiring a 4-dimensional display on a 2-dimensional map. At the editing stage one should start with determining the character of presented phenomena in order to select the most appropriate method of cartographic presentation. The next step is the selection of source materials and determining the timeframe. Each of the three types of maps of change presented in the article has different characteristics. Static maps are easy to prepare, but difficult in interpretation of changes. Multiphase maps require complex editorial solutions, while type maps require deep analysis of the character of changes in order to select the type to be presented on the map. The research shows that cartographic methods are very useful for analysis and presentation of changes of tourist infrastructure. Despite a lot of research and application of modern technology, presentation of dynamics of change on maps is still an open question.
