Opis:
The quality of the water in Iraq’s Hilla River has been severely degraded as a result of human activities and industrial development. The QUAL2K model, a widely used one-dimensional water quality model, was used to simulate the river’s water quality parameter of CBODu and DO utilizing river and point-source flows rate as well as quality of water metrics observed along the river. Despite a severe lack of data in the research region, the QUAL2K model was determined to be an adequate instrument for the evaluation of quality of water. Simulated results of DO, BOD5, and temperature for the period (October 2022) showed the robustness of the model. Results showed that the two parameters (CBOD and DO) ranged between (9.5 and 10.65) mg/L and between (1.425 and 3.075) mg/L, respectively. Based on statistics, good agreement was found between the model predictions and field data. Thus, using QUAL2K model is an effective tool to manage the river water quality.

Opis:
Supply chain’s resilience is a multidimensional category. One of variables’ groups that affect resilience are abilities that are attributes of supply chains with a certain level of resilience. Elements of these abilities’ set are characterized by a certain level of dependence on the other elements of set as well as by the level of their impact on other elements. These dependencies can be analyzed and proceeded using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) in order to construct a hierarchical model of supply chain resilience management. This article presents the model constructed on the basis of an expert survey conducted among representatives of enterprises participating in steel products supply chains.
Odporność łańcuchów dostaw jest kategorią wielowymiarową. Jedną z grup zmiennych wpływających na nią są zdolności, będące atrybutami łańcuchów dostaw o pewnym poziomie odporności. Elementy zbioru tych zdolności charakteryzują się pewnym poziomem zależności od pozostałych jego elementów oraz poziomem siły oddziaływania na pozostałe elementy. Zależności te można przeanalizować i wykorzystać metodykę interpretacyjnego modelowania strukturalnego (ISM) do skonstruowania hierarchicznego modelu zarządzania odpornością łańcucha dostaw. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano hierar-chiczny model zarządzania odpornością łańcucha dostaw powstały na podstawie badania eksperckiego przeprowadzonego wśród przedstawicieli przedsiębiorstw uczestniczących w łańcuchach dostaw wyrobów hutniczych.

Since the trends of adverse climate change and integrated urban water management have continued in the twenty-first century, governments and other institutions seek reliable predictions as water resource requirements arise. Although uncertainty is never cut off from the need for a probabilistic movement, through current developments in science and the technology of hydrological modeling on urban water management analysis, researchers can improve the ability to create realistic scenarios that will benefit the water sector it adapts to these changes. Model studies on the combined effects of climate change and the water sector have found that the change can be significant, depending on scenarios and the assumptions of climate change, as well as the degree of urban development. In this work, conceptual analysis of urban water management has been applied to several scenarios of climate change in order to obtain new insights and uncertainties.

Article presents a proposition of using quantified model defining a level of enterprise growth according to L. E. Greiner’s Enterprise Growth Stages Theory as an attempt of practical use of mentioned theory in Management Practice Discipline. This model defines critical areas of enterprise growth, defining their target condition in next stages of growth, which in turn allows to manage this process consciously.
W pracy przedstawiono propozycję kwantyfikacji modelu określającego poziom rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa zgodnie z teorią etapów rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa L. E. Greinera jako próby praktycznego wykorzystania teorii w praktyce zarządczej. Model określa krytyczne dla rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa obszary działalności definiując ich docelowy stan w kolejnych etapach rozwojowych, co w konsekwencji pozwala na objęcie ich procesem świadomego zarządzania.

Achieving competitive advantage enables an organization to create a defensible position against its competitors. It also allows organizations to differentiate themselves from competitors. This study aims to investigate impact of knowledge management practices on supply chain quality management and competitive advantage in Alyaf Company, Iran. This research is functional in purpose and data gathering and data analysis is descriptive-correlation. The statistical population is consists of 25 company executives and experts in the supply chain of Alyaf Company; opinions of 68 of its members were used as a selective sample identified by simple random sampling method. Primary data was collected through questionnaire and structural equation modeling was used to assess relationships between variables. The results of structural equation modeling show a positive and significant causal relationship between knowledge management practices and supply chain quality management. Direct relationship between knowledge management and competitive advantage was not confirmed but the relationship between these two variables was confirmed indirectly.

The paper outlines the concept for using the Business Process Management System (BPMS) to improve back office processes in an organization. The BPM system allows organization of all back-office tasks into processes that could be measured and improved. The aim of the paper is to prepare reference business process models for common back office activities. The process models were prepared in accordance with the BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation). The results of the conducted research prove that the measured business processes may be not only managed, but also subsequently improved.

Współczesne poglądy na ocenę sukcesu projektu to nie tylko trójkąt zarządzania projektami, w którym równowaga pomiędzy kosztami, harmonogramem oraz zakresem pozwala na pozytywną ocenę projektu. W XX wieku zaproponowano pojęcie krytycznych czynników sukcesu (CSF). Podejście to zastosowano także w zarządzaniu projektami. Następnie rozwinięto koncepcję CSF, proponując Ramy Czynników Sukcesu. W tym podejściu CSF tworzą strukturę. W artykule przedstawiono możliwości opisu tej struktury. Jako narzędzie wykorzystano metodę ANP. Preferencje zostaną uzyskane przez porównanie parami kluczowych czynników sukcesu.
Modern views on the evaluation of the project's success is not limited to project management triangle in which a balance between cost, schedule and scope, allows for positive appraisal of the project. In the XX century, were proposed the concept of Critical Success Factors (CSF). This approach has also been applied in project management. Later were developed the concept of CSF Frameworks. In this approach CSF form a structure. In this paper we present possibilities of description of this structure. As the tool we use ANP method. Preference will be obtained by comparing pairs of critical success factors.

During several recent years an increasing interest concerning behavior of various gaseous or liquid hydrocarbons mixtures with neat gaseous hydrogen is observed. The phase equilibria as well as flow properties have been studied and some practical implementations indicated. The main practical idea consists in a possibility to use such mixtures as a replacement for pure hydrocarbons actually used as the energy source. Application of hydrogen enriched mixtures seem to be a temporary solution for gradual decarbonization of energy resources. The advantage of such approach may consist in much smaller requirements for investment in various aspect of infrastructure needed for handling the fuels. The present work is devoted to computer simulation of carbon dioxide emissions for several scenarios based on different compositions of hydrogen mixtures with hydrocarbons. The simulations include estimation of calorific value of the mixture and composition of exhaust gases emitted after its combustion. The simulation, based on s.c. logistic function, evaluates several variants of time dependence of new fuels implementation, and consequently time dependence of changes in composition of emissions to atmosphere. The simulation can be used for choosing the ways of practical implementation management.
