Opis:
Młodzież, wybierając szkołę ponadgimnazjalną, powinna określić swoje zainteresowania, pa-sje i predyspozycje. W gimnazjach nie ma regularnych zajęć z doradztwa zawodowego. Są to zajęcia dodatkowe lub prowadzone w ramach lekcji wychowawczej. Doradcy w wyznaczonych dniach i godzinach pełnią dyżury. Celem opracowania jest określenia roli zajęć z doradztwa zawodowe-go w gimnazjum.
Students choosing secondary schools need to determine their interests, passions and predispo-sitions. There is a lack of regular career advisory classes in lower secondary schools. These are additional classes or lessons within the scope of general educational classes. Teachers give adviso-ry classes in selected days and hours. Students can make use of the support and advises on their own initiative. Students self-knowledge and professional profiles are the subjects of the advisory classes. Durning the career advisory classes, lower secondary school students meet with secondary school students. The aim of the publication is to evaluate the role of career advisory classes in the lower secondary schools.

Opis:
Introduction. The European Union strategy for sustainable development is a multidimensional approach to policy making. It assures a coherent development of all areas of social life, including public health, education and physical culture. It is implemented globally through projects developed and co-financed by the EU. In local terms each Member State is responsible for organizational and economic aspects of these projects and consists primarily in adapting its operation to general EU standards. The aim of the study was to determine the environmental diversity of recreational physical activity among lower secondary school students, which allows an indirect insight into sustainable rural and urban development of the south-west of Poland in the analyzed aspects of social life. Material and methods. A diagnostic survey with the use of questionnaires was applied to collect factual material. The research tool was a standardized survey questionnaire developed as part of the research problem financed from the grant in the Czech Republic. A group of secondary school students, 3500 girls and boys from rural and urban environment, from the south-west of Poland participated in the study. Results. Quantitative structures of organized and spontaneous physical activity are highly diversified in the subjects’ environment. Almost twice as many young people takes up spontaneous exercise as those involved in organized activities. Living environment does not diversify general physical activity among female subjects. Boys who engage in organized exercise are nearly twice as many as those taking up spontaneous physical activity. Living environment is determining only in the case of boys participating in organized activities; the percentage is significantly higher in the rural environment. Conclusion. The study confirmed a sustainable development in the studied environments. There is certain diversity in the collected data, yet it reflects the specific character of rural and urban environments, not a developmental disproportion.

Opis:
The article presents the results of a survey on the perception of the psychosocial school environment and school functioning of lower secondary school students with and without chronic conditions. Students of grades 1–3 (N = 4,058) from randomly selected 234 public lower secondary schools from all voivodships participated in the survey. In this group 3,232 (80%) students were healthy and 798 (20%) had different chronic conditions. The anonymous “Health and school” questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collections with questions from HBSC study (Health Behaviour in School-aged Children) and from CHIP–AE Questionnaire (Child Health and Illness Profile: Adolescent Edition). Based on Urie Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model, dimensions of psychosocial school environment were analysed on the individual level (microsystem) and the social relations level (mesosystem). It was found that healthy students, in comparison with those with chronic conditions, perceived school environment and their functioning at school better. They have: a larger sense of school belonging, higher level of school competencies and achievements, larger sense that their grades are adequate to the results, a higher social position in the class and a higher level of support from peers, teachers and parents. Students with chronic conditions have higher level of workload, stress and problems associated with the school, and they also spend more time on homework. These students (about 20% of the population of school age) have special educational needs which depend on the specificity and the course of the disease. Identification of difficult areas in the functioning of chronically ill students in the school and knowledge of their perception of their school’s psychosocial environment will allow teachers to provide them with appropriate support.
