Opis:: Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zmian udziałów poszczególnych grup przewoźników (autobusowych i kolejowych) oraz odniesienie do przemian rynku przewozów pasażerskich po wprowadzeniu kursów przewoźnika niezależnego (PolskiBus.com) o dużym potencjale. Wspomniano również o historii i rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa na terenie Polski oraz skomentowano dane dotyczące udziału poszczególnych stron konkurujących w ofercie przewozowej na badanych trasach. Artykuł wpisuje się w problematykę ba- dań transportu regionalnego, silnie oddziałującego na rozwój miast i ich dostępność. Dodatkowo autorzy dokonali oceny roli przewoźnika w ramach polityki transportowej regionu i kompleksowej obsługi w ramach publicznego transportu zbiorowego.
The main objective of this article is to present recent changes in the interregional transport market in midsized towns following the introduction of new connections provided by the first Polish low- cost bus carrier – PolskiBus.com. The authors present the history of the firm and its role in changing Polish transportation market. The article includes comments on how the introduction of this new carrier has affected the local market. The new image of transport created by prices and good quality is the current issue in transportation analysis and, accordingly, was made the subject of this article. The authors present their assessment of the role of the passenger carrier within the regional transport policy and as regards complex services rendered in public transport.

Opis:: Large errors of low-cost MEMS inertial measurement unit (MIMU) lead to huge navigation errors, even wrong navigation information. An integrated navigation system for unmanned vessel is proposed. It consists of a low-cost MIMU and Doppler velocity sonar (DVS). This paper presents an integrated navigation method, to improve the performance of navigation system. The integrated navigation system is tested using simulation and semi-physical simulation experiments, whose results show that attitude, velocity and position accuracy has improved awfully, giving exactly accurate navigation results. By means of the combination of low-cost MIMU and DVS, the proposed system is able to overcome fast drift problems of the low cost IMU.

Low-cost airlines and budget hotels confirm the high effectiveness and efficiency of the business model generating profits from low operating costs. The purpose of this article is to present the specificity of companies providing low-cost flights and hotel services in the field of value for customer and operating model.

Opis:: This paper presents evidence of the head-on open access competition which took place on the market of long-distance passenger rail services in Poland in 2009-2015. The regional governments-owned challenger managed to raise its market share to more than 33% (2010) but eventually was forced out of the market (2015) due to a sudden change in its business strategy as well as the incumbent’s strategic pressure on the political and regulatory decision-makers. This case has not featured yet in the scientific discussion on the open access in the passenger rail markets in Europe and the main aim of this preliminary study is to fill this gap.

Opis:: In the last three years, the Islamic State (ISIS – Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) had to redefine its strategy as a result of air raids conducted by the antiterrorist coalition. The tactic is no longer concentrated on the territorial expansion and the creation of their own statehood, but on the attacks carried out by the so-called "lone wolves", just like in the case of their rival Al-Qaeda. The idea of a solitary attack is accompanied by a new method used by the terrorists – crashing into people or places with the help of cars. Since the events in Nice in 2016, this phenomenon, known as “ramming”, has taken a death toll in Europe.
Na przestrzeni ostatnich trzech lat Państwo Islamskie (ISIS – Islamic State in Iraq and Syria), wskutek nalotów koalicji antyterrorystycznej, musiało dokonać redefinicji swojej strategii. Taktyka działania, przestała się skupiać na ekspansji terytorialnej oraz na utworzeniu własnej państwowości, ale wzorem konkurencyjny Al-Kaidy, zaczęła opierać się, na zamachach tak zwanych „samotnych wilków”. Idei samotniczego zamachu, towarzyszy nowa metoda, stosowana przez terrorystów, jaką jest taranowanie z użyciem samochodu. Zjawisko to, znane w terminologii antyterrorystów jako „ramming”, od lipcowych wydarzeń w Nicei z 2016 roku, zbiera swoje śmiertelne żniwo w Europie.

Opis:: In this paper we propose a renewable energy storing system in order to harness optimal solar radiation. In consideration of photosynthesis process of a tree, photovoltaic cells of this artificial tree are arranged by Fibonacci pattern instead of leaves. This design will increase efficiency of storing energy compare to flat structure. To solve the problem of low efficiency of a solar system, it is necessary to orient photovoltaic cells with varying direction of periodic sun irradiation. Taking this into account, a tracking system based on one-degree angle of movement maintaining small angle of tolerance, is implemented with a specific movement flexibility for any promising fluctuation of sunlight. A incomplex techniqe and low cost design makes it economical and easy implementable.

Opis:: Sorption of Methylene Blue (MB) and Malachite Green (MG) dyes onto barks and leaves of four trees was examined with a batch method. The obtained sorption isotherms are well described by the Langmuir equation. The examined barks proved to have quite different sorption capacities. The highest values were recorded for the walnut tree bark (512 and 307 mg/g towards the MB and MG dyes, respectively) and the lowest capacities were observed for the birch tree bark (68 and 22 mg/g towards the MB and MG dyes, respectively). The studied leaves proved to have rather similar sorption capacities, i.e., from 210 to 286 mg/g for the MB dye and from 152 to 189 mg/g for the MG dye. The specific surface values calculated from the MB monolayer capacity are substantially higher than those obtained by the BET method, probably because of swelling of the test materials in an aqueous medium.

Opis:: The paper presents a realization of the scaled residue reverse converter for the low cost moduli base {2ⁿ -1,2ⁿ ,2ⁿ+1} . The moduli of this type allow for the memoryless reverse conversion using the Chinese Remainder Theorem because the orthogonal projections can be obtained by shifts and additions. Moreover, the modulo reduction of the sum of projections and sign detection algorithms are shown. Also the converter architecture is presented.

Opis:: Cases of heavy traffic congestion (commonly referred to as traffic jams) have negative influences on the economy, public health, and social life. This makes it important to assist drivers in these situations with Internet of Things (IoT) systems. The aim of this article is to present a low-cost device that supports driving in traffic jams. The system, which is based on data from a laser sensor with a range of up to 40 m, controls the distances to vehicles in front of and behind a moving car. Through audio and video signals, it warns the driver whether the vehicle in front of or behind the equipped vehicle is too close. This allows the driver to control the distance and avoid minor collisions.

Opis:: W procesie kształtowaniu się rynku turystycznego można zauważyć rosnącą współzależność z rozwojem usług lotniczych, co warunkuje zaspokojenie oczekiwanych potrzeb i poprawę efektywności obydwu rodzajów działalności. Przewoźnicy niskokosztowi przejęli w niektórych regionach ponad połowę popytu, uzyskując pozycję znaczącego uczestnika branży turystycznej. Działalność operatorów tego segmentu usług w znacznym stopniu zmieniła zależności w sektorze. Dotychczas kształtujące się w tym procesie relacje upoważniają do postawienia tezy, zgodnie z którą dalszy rozwój linii niskokosztowych jest w znacznym stopniu uzależniony od dynamiki wzrostu potencjału regionów w których rynek turystyczny stanowi jedną z najszybciej rozwijających się dziedzin gospodarki, generując coraz większe dochody. Celem artykułu jest zbadanie zachowań konsumentów na rynku usług turystycznych i ich wpływ na rozwój niskokosztowych przewozów lotniczych. Badania zostały przeprowadzone metodą sondażu diagnostycznego z wykorzystaniem autorskiego kwestionariusza ankietowego oraz wywiadu.
In the development of the tourism market, there is a growing in terdependence with the development of air services, which will meet the expected needs and improve the efficiency of both. Low-cost carriers have over half the demand in some regions, earning the position of a significant player in the travel industry. The activity of operators of this service segment significantly changed the dependence in the sector. So far, the relationships that have been established in this process empower the thesis that the further development of low-cost lines is heavily dependent on the dynamics of the growth potential of regions in which the tourism market is one of the fastest growing areas of the economy, generating more revenue. The purpose of this article is to examine consumers' behavior in the tourism services market and their impact on the development of low cost airline services. The research was conducted using the diagnostic survey method using the author's questionnaire and interview.
