Celem artykułu jest scharakteryzowanie trzech centrów dystrybucji na terenie województwa łódzkiego: Panattoni Park Business Center Łódź w Łodzi, Logistic City-Piotrków Distribution Center w Piotrkowie Trybunalskim oraz SEGRO Logistics Park Stryków w Strykowie oraz analiza potencjału jaki mają centra zlokalizowane na obszarze tego województwa.
The article discusses the general concept of a logistics center with the elements that compose it and describes its evolution over the years. Then, discussed it was the place that occupies the center of logistics and the role it plays in the context of supply chain operations. In addition, it contains information about the operating concept of logistic centers in the supply chain. The aim of this article is to characterize the three distribution centers in the province of Lodz: Panattoni Park Business Center Lodz in Lodz, Piotrkow City- Logistic Distribution Center in Piotrkow and SEGRO Logistics Park Stryków Stryków and analysis of the potential that they have centers located in the area of the province.

W artykule dokonano analizy literaturowej, której celem było zbadanie znaczenia centrów logistycznych dla funkcjonowania łańcuchów dostaw. Analiza została przeprowadzona w oparciu o dorobek polskich i zagranicznych naukowców specjalizujących się w zagadnieniach łańcuchów dostaw oraz centrów logistycznych. Przeprowadzona analiza potwierdziła silny wpływ i dominującą pozycję centrów logistycznych w łańcuchach dostaw. Funkcja centrów logistycznych w łańcuchach dostaw opiera się przede wszystkim na integracji procesów i czynności logistycznych innych ogniw oraz zwiększeniu efektywności ich działań.
The article presents the results of a literature analysis of the logistics centers' importance to the supply chains' functioning. The analysis has been conducted basing on the works of supply chains specialists, both Polish and foreign, as well as scientists specializing in logistics centres. The analysis confirmed the major influence and superiority of logistics centers in supply chains. The logistics centers' function in supply chains are, above all, integration of processes and improving their effectiveness.

Sektor publiczny różnych szczebli (państwo, województwo, powiat, gmina) realizuje wiele zadań – od tych bardzo prostych, po kompleksowe, wydając ogromne sumy pieniędzy. Organizacje publiczne, dążąc do zapewnienia pożądanego poziomu świadczeń, coraz częściej korzystają z alternatywnych form organizacyjnych (np. partnerstwo publiczno-prywatne) i źródeł finansowania, tzn. gwarantują dostęp do świadczeń, jednak nie zawsze je samodzielnie wykonują. A to powoduje zmiany w (publicznych) łańcuchach tworzenia wartości, gdyż wzrasta liczba uczestników łańcucha. Zmiany te stanowią impuls do podjęcia próby wskazania, że orientacja na odbiorców i przepływy stanowi kluczowe atrybuty (publicznego) łańcucha dostaw.
The public sector at various levels (country, province, district, commune) realizes many tasks − from the very simple to the complex, spending a lot of money. Public organizations aiming to provide the desired level of benefits, turning to alternative form of organization more and more often (eg. public-private partership) and to diferent source of funding. That’s mean they guarantees the acces to the benefits, but they do not perform them by themselves. And this is the causes of changes in the (public) value chain, because the number of participants in chain is increasing. These changes are the impulse to try to identify that focusing on consumer and flow of materials are the key of public supply chain.

Rodzaj opakowania odgrywa kluczową rolę w kosztach powiązanych z transportowaniem towarów. Właściwy dobór opakowań do wyrobu może zminimalizować ewentualne zagrożenia związane z przewozem tych towarów, zwiększyć sprawność i niezawodność procesów logistycznych, a także umożliwić redukcję kosztów. W pracy przeprowadzona została analiza wybranych wskaźników logistycznych, zarówno kosztowych, jak i jakościowych. W wyniku przeprowadzonej analizy wskazano efektywniejsze rozwiązanie logistyczne. Przeprowadzona analiza potwierdziła, że właściwe dopasowane i wykorzystywanie opakowań przyczynia się do obniżenia kosztów oraz poprawy jakości i bezpieczeństwa przepływów towarów w ramach łańcucha dostaw.
The type of packaging plays a key role in the costs associated with the transport of goods. Proper selection of packaging for the product can minimize the potential risks associated with the transport of these goods, increase the efficiency and reliability of logistics processes, and enable cost reduction. The work involved the analysis of selected logistic indicators, both cost and quality. As a result of the analysis, a more effective logistic solution was indicated. The conducted analysis confirmed that optimally adjusted and used packaging contributes to lowering costs and improving the quality and safety of flows within the supply chain.

W pracy zaprezentowano aplikację służącą do symulacyjnego badania przebiegu procesów logistycznych. Rozważany problem sterowania przepływem towarów i wymiany informacji w łańcuchu dostaw odwołuje się do sytuacji, w której zasoby centrum logistycznego, wykorzystywane do zaspokojenia zgłaszanego popytu, są uzupełniane towarami z zamówień składanych u jednego lub wielu dostawców. Aplikacja umożliwia badanie właściwości podstawowych, jak również zaawansowanych metod sterowania procesem zarządzania zasobami w warunkach zmiennego popytu oraz różnych parametrów środowiskowych. Za pomocą symulatora możliwa jest ocena wpływu doboru algorytmu oraz parametru minimalnej ilości towarów zamawianych jednorazowo u dostawców na redukcję kosztów transportu przy zachowaniu założonego poziomu obsługi klientów.
The paper presents an advanced software tool for modeling and control of periodic-review inventory systems. In the presented model stock in the warehouse is replenished by one or more suppliers at the same time. The application allows its users to analyze properties of both basic and advanced supply policies in the presence of variable demand and various environmental parameters. Presented software is used to determine the impact of minimum order amount parameter and chosen supply policy on total transportation cost, while still maintaining high customer service level.

The globalization is affecting the economic development of world. Internet provided a dramatic increase in information and money transaction speed, therefore small markets are also growing rapidly in the international markets. The focus of this paper is on a cluster of companies with logistics intensive activity. This includes mainly logistics services providers, such as transportation companies, warehousemen, third party logistics companies, also distributors, forwarders and retailers, as well. The logistic clusters can be used to provide the competitive advantage for the small markets, however, the main singularities of small market are related to the partial freight distribution problem. Manufacturers tend to buy raw materials in low quantities that may dramatically increase the price per pallet. In the article a methodology proposed by the authors’ offers to combine different types of warehouses and transportation methods. A case study was conducted in a small market’s food industry that amplifies the possibilities of logistic cluster usage in a food industry. Taking into account the analysed information, it was concluded that warehouses consolidation processes in the logistic clusters can dramatically reduce the cost of food supply chain. Moreover, the implementation of a consolidation warehouse in a logistic cluster can provide environmental and economic benefits, which makes the cluster more attractive. Additionally, the most important factors in food supply chain, such as distribution network of flow from food suppliers to customers combining transportation quantity and ordering size together with controlled temperature conditions by using refrigerated compartments in order to optimize logistic costs, were indicated. As the result, the guidelines to the improvement of warehouses consolidation process in the logistic clusters for the food industry have been developed. In the future partial freight optimization network will be modelled in order to properly evaluate the economical possibilities of logistic cluster usage in the food industry.
Tematem niniejszego artykułu jest klaster firm aktywnych logistycznie. Dotyczy to przede wszystkim dostawców usług logistycznych, takich jak firmy transportowe, magazynierów, innych logistycznych firm, jak również dystrybutorów, spedytorów i detalistów. Klastry logistyczne mogą być wykorzystywane w celu zapewnienia przewagi konkurencyjnej małych rynków. Przedstawiona w artykule metodologia zaproponowana przez autorów oferuje połączenie różnych rodzajów magazynów i metod transportu. Studium przypadku przeprowadzone zostało w obszarze małego rynku przemysłu spożywczego wzmacniającego możliwości wykorzystania klastra logistycznego w przemyśle spożywczym. Analiza przypadku wykazała, że procesy konsolidacyjne w magazynach klastrów logistycznych mogą bardzo znaczny obniżyć koszty łańcucha dostaw żywności. Ponadto realizacja magazynu konsolidacyjnego w klastrze logistycznym może przynieść korzyści gospodarcze i środowiskowe, co czyni klaster bardziej atrakcyjnym. Dodatkowo wskazane zostały najważniejsze czynniki w łańcuchu dostaw żywności, takie jak sieci dystrybucji przepływu od dostawców żywności do klientów łączące wielkość transportu oraz zamówień z kontrolowanymi warunkami termicznymi przy wykorzystaniu komór chłodniczych w celu optymalizacji kosztów logistycznych. W rezultacie opracowane zostały, wytyczne do poprawy procesu konsolidacji magazynów w klastrach logistycznych dla przemysłu spożywczego.

The article presents an approach to assessing the reliability of logistics processes implemented in supply chains in terms of time losses resulting from the selection of a variant of material flows in the supply chain. In order to define this indicator, a mathematical model of the supply chain has been developed, i.e. the parameters of the research problem, the decision variables, the constraints and the evaluation criteria. The method of evaluating the reliability of the system is presented in diagram form. The algorithm was verified based on experimental data. In order to evaluate the reliability of the logistic processes for the sample supply chain, a simulation model was developed that determines the time losses in the points and linear elements of the examined chain. Time losses are dictated by traffic delays resulting from traffic congestion on particular sections of the route and road junctions and delays in point elements in the supply chain.
W artykule przedstawiono podejście do oceny niezawodności procesów logistycznych realizowanych w łańcuchach dostaw w aspekcie strat czasu wynikających z wyboru wariantu realizacji przepływów materiałowych w łańcuchu dostaw. Na potrzeby tych badań opracowano model matematyczny łańcucha dostaw, tj. określono parametry problemu badawczego, zmienne decyzyjne, ograniczenia oraz kryteria oceny. Sposób oceny niezawodności systemu został przedstawiony w postaci schematu. Algorytm został zweryfikowany na podstawie danych eksperymentalnych. W celu oceny niezawodności procesów logistycznych dla przykładowego łańcucha dostaw opracowano model symulacyjny wyznaczający straty czasu w elementach punktowych i liniowych badanego łańcucha. Straty czasu podyktowane są opóźnieniami w ruchu drogowym wynikającymi z kongestii ruchu na poszczególnych odcinkach trasy i węzłach drogowych oraz opóźnieniami w elementach punktowych łańcucha dostaw.

Various supply chain stakeholders show an increasing interest in environmental and social issues related to business, since it has become a crucial factor in creating competitive advantage. Among the concepts that have been used – apart from CSR – are sustainable development, corporate citizenship, sustainable entrepreneurship, the triple bottom line, and business ethics. The need for CSR in supply chains should particularly be seen in light of the fact that a large part of their operations is conducted through systems of governance, which link firms together in various sourcing and contracting arrangements. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a concept of large relevance for business in general and within logistics specifically. Responsibility of businesses involved in supply chains can increasingly be found high on the CSR-agenda of European companies and governments. However, despite all these efforts and standards, a number of CSR issues connected to logistics issues still remain unsolved. One of these areas is the relationship between risk situations and social and environmental issues, which companies in the supply chain try to manage. In literature many different sources of logistic risks for supply chain management were discussed. Even though there is a stream of literature investigating risk in supply chains, there has been little research applied to the precise analysis of logistics risk within the framework of the CSR concept. The purpose of the research presented in this paper is to provide insight into the role of different types of risk connected to logistics processes while implementing the main areas of the CSR concept.

The outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic and the actions that all countries took in its aftermath all over the world in the first quarter of 2020 and later, i.e., during lockdowns and other restrictive measures, introducing a short and medium-term freezing of economic activity, had a strong impact on their economies and, consequently, also on the global economy. The aim of undertaken research is to evaluate the impact of the pandemic on the functioning of maritime transport sector as well as to indicate its consequences for the global supply chains between 2020 and 2021 (first quarter). The research is mainly focused on assessing the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the global shipping and especially container one that is contemporarily the most vital link of the global intermodal land-sea supply chains. The analyses take into account the adaptive measures taken by ship operators and other individual parties being an integral link of the global supply chains with an aim to mitigate the effects of radical slowdown in industrial and global trade activity. The research was based on the analyses, reports and several business information carried out by specialized international organizations as well as ship carriers and logistics providers. The obtained research results indicate the need to reconfigure global logistics supply chains and increase their resilience by introducing new digital solutions. It is high time to introduce new smart, green digital supply chains and subsequently to reconfigure them much more towards the regional trade and economic relations and ties among countries (reshoring). Such activities aiming at rebuilding the logistic supply chains may at the same time change the presently existing business environment in global maritime shipping, enforcing not only changes in ship owners’ business models but also serious structural alterations on the shipping freight markets.
