    Opis:
    Research by students of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Warsaw, conducted in the years 1992–2010 in various regions of western Ukraine, shows that in rural communities and in areas with low levels of urbanization local ties and knowledge transmitted within the family circle and the neighborhood community play a large role in maintaining identity and a strong group separateness. An important element of local knowledge is imagining about the past. This article describes selected ideas about past and recent history. The author suggests that knowledge about the past is read and interpreted within the framework of a religious worldview, which constitutes the basis of the common cosmology of the communities examined. Hence local narratives about the past have a different nature, and vary both from historiography and from the dominant transmissions in the western Ukrainian national discourse of collective memory. They are actualized in daily life and serve to build adaptive social strategies.

    The palace and park in Nakło were built by Count Kajetan Bystrzanowski in the years 1770–1780. After his death the property was passing from hand to hand, to finally get to the Komorowski family (Matilda, the wife of the successor to the throne of Belgium and Franciszek Starowieyski, a painter, belong to this family). Komorowski managed the assets until the end of The Second World War but then he lost them to the state. For several years, the palace housed an agricultural, technical school and later – to 1989 – an orphanage. Since 2002, Marzenna and Kerth Reyher have been the owners of the building. The theme of the article are the stories, memory and community importance of the palace in Nakło, forming a part of the physical and cultural landscape of the Lelów municipality. The authors show the local narratives which were collected during the ethnographic research on the places especially important for the Lelów community, which are the witnesses and traces of the past. Another aim of the article is to discuss the issues of carvings on trees – forms of material culture that are valuable elements in the processes of reconstructing the events from the past. Their reading and interpretation is important in supplementing the state of knowledge about the places and people associated with them, who left carvings on the trees. Like forgotten stories, carvings also lose their legibility with time, yet remaining a legacy that is difficult to grasp and is transient just like life is. Therefore, it is worth noting while analyzing and restoring the memory about them, the more so as they show the unforced, governing need of the moment, and leaving the historical continuity of correspondence between culture and nature. The palace and park is treated as a place in the anthropological meaning and as an element of the landscape understood in the context of aesthetics, perception, memory and ideology.

    Artykuł prezentuje narracje migracyjne (założycielskie i tożsamościowe) kulturowej przestrzeni miasta Słupska oraz ich konteksty teatralne. Punktem wyjścia staje się analiza porównawcza mikrohistorii lokalnych zapisanych w tekstach dokumentu osobistego: nieopublikowanych dotąd Wspomnieniach pierwszych słupszczan i opublikowanych wspomnieniach słupskich osadników Mój nowy dom (2009). Przykłady lokalnych narracji migracyjnych skonfrontowane zostają z ustaleniami teoretycznoliterackimi w zakresie literackich świadectw dyskursu tożsamościowego i memorialnego.
    This article aims to describe narratives regarding migration within Slupsk's cultural sphere and their contextual reflections in theatre. The article begins with a comparative analysis of local biographies written down in personal documents, such as the yet-to-be-published Wspomnienia pierwszych słupszczan (“Memories of the first residents of Slupsk”), and the published accounts of Slupsk's residents in Mój nowy dom (“My new home”). The above works are then examined through the lens the of literary discourse surrounding migratory identity.

    The article is an anthropological reconstruction of the microcosm of the Wrocław district called the Bermuda Triangle in the first half of the 1960s. The author describes a specifically small-town community and its space-time identity, largely free from the oppressive media practices of global culture remaining in the shadow of the Catholic type of religiosity. The culture of the Triangle at that time turned out to be a collection of urbanized behaviours as well as a type of slightly archaic, face-to-face private-public discourse, marking the coexistence of original communications placed in the collective field of view and preserved in collective memory. The basic principle organizing the notes of an anthropologist of the (photo)past is the analysis of relics and artefacts.

    The use of threads of memory during election campaigns has a great political potential. Recalling the history of the community may contribute to the success of campaign activities, thanks to which the issues of remembrance of the past appear in the strategies of many election committees. And although the problem of the use of threads of memory before elections could be discussed through the prism of the various levels of elections, this article proposes a narrower perspective. The purpose of this text is to present the issue of recalling memory – using the narratives of memory and commemoration – in local government elections. What is important, the main discussed problem is based on the case of local government elections in Poland in 2018, and is presented through the analysis of three examples of the use of threads of memory during election campaigns (the content analysis of media reports). These examples came from Katowice, Warsaw and Bialystok, and its discussion contributed to the formulation of final conclusions.
    Использование мотивов памяти во время избирательных кампаний имеет большой политический потенциал. Обращение к истории данного общества может способствовать успеху агитационной деятельности, потому проблема памяти о прошлом появляется в стратегии многих избирательных комитетов. И хотя проблематику мотивов памяти перед выборами можно обсуждать, учитывая различные уровни выборов, то в данной статье автор предлагает более узкую перспективу. Цель текста – представить проблематику присутствия тем, связанных с памятью – с использованием нарратива памяти – на примере выборов в местные органы власти. Надо отметить, что данный вопрос был рассмотрен на основе выборов в местные органы самоуправления в Польше в 2018 году. Автор проанализировал три примера использования мотивов памяти (с помощью анализа содержания сообщений СМИ). Примеры касались трех городов: Катовице, Варшава и Белосток. Их детальный анализ помог сформулировать заключительные выводы.
