    Opis:
    Based on the bibliography method (mainly Bibliografia literatury dla dzieci i młodzieży 1918-1939. Literatura polska i przekłady, by B. Krassowska i A. Grefkowicz, Warszawa, 1995), the article presents the extent of foreign literature for young people translated into Polish, edited in Poland in 1918-1939. The most popular languages, literary genres, bestseller authors and titles, the intensity of publishing in periods, the biggest publishers, and the most popular series are analyzed. Besides classics, many foreign light titles were published, because of the lack of such literature in the Polish book market. They were attacked by literary critics and educators, but very widely-read in fact. The abundance and variety of foreign literature for children and young adults in 1918-1939 are emphasized. Language mosaic and author-subject diversity of these books had never been repeated after World War II, mainly due to political reasons.

    In the first part, the authors of the paper investigate the issue of so-called “affective turn” in contemporary literary studies, which they call a form of collective reaction to chosen problems of social life and its manifestation in literature. The researchers emphasise that affectivity has been present in litera ture for children and young adults for a long time. It manifests itself through the presence of factors responsible for the structure and reception of a literary work. Those are the elements which influence the emotional world of a young reader. The following parts of the paper concentrate on the analyses of two vol umes of stories: Pralnia pierza. Opowiadania o tym, co ważne (2018) by Dorota Combrzyńska-Nogala and Gorzka czekolada i inne opowiadania o ważnych sprawach (2016), whose authors are well-known writers of Polish literature for children. In the collection Pralnia pierza… the authors identify an example of implicating affective narration, which exposes deduction, resulting, as well as mutually interweaving psychosocial and cultural-spatial phenomena. On the contrary, the anthology Gorzka czekolada… has been interpreted by the au thors as a type of explicating affective narration, with the majority of (auto)de fining and explanatory-exemplifying elements.

    W artykule podjęta została próba analizy i porównania obu ujęć dziecięcych przeżyć, kreacji bohaterów i wydarzeń zawartych w: Od Karpat nad Bałtyk Anieli Gruszeckiej z roku 1946 oraz Dzieci wśród nocy Ireny Krzywickiej z roku 1948. Obie wybrane powieści realizują ten sam temat – opisują doświadczenie wojny z punktu widzenia dziecka, a ich istotnym elementem jest wykreowany obraz dzieci żydowskich i niemieckich, skonstruowany na zasadzie kontrastu. Aniela Gruszecka i Irena Krzywicka w swych utworach wiernie oddały obraz zagłady dziecięcego świata, a same powieści warte są przypomnienia.
    The aim of this paper is to compare and analyse two depictions of the experience of childhood, as well as the portrayal of the characters and events contained within two works: Od Karpat nad Bałtyk, written in 1946 by Aniela Gruszecka, and Dzieci wśród nocy, written in 1948 by Irena Krzywicka. Each of the novels depicts children’s wartime experiences, with particular significance being conferred upon contrasting portrayals of the experiences of German and Jewish children. The authors have successfully captured the destruction of the children’s worlds in two novels that are well worth remembering and contemplating.

    This article discusses the introduction of Polish books to children and young adult readers in South Korea. Its particular focus is on picture books which address environmental issues. Wioletta Hajduk-Gawron and Younghwa Kim examine the conditions favourable to the presence of translations of Polish books on the Korean publishing market, the phenomenon of the picture book and the values of eco-education through literature. Using several books as examples, the authors conduct a sample analysis of the chosen strategies used by publishers in the selection of books to be translated. They also examine strategies used in adapting a Polish book for the different cultural context; these strategies involve explication and textual or graphic modifications.

    Opis:
    The aim of the article is to analyse the content of websites of selected publishers offering a book addressed to young readers in terms of the presence of a literary text on them. It has been decided to use netnography tools and a functional method to identify the criteria for selecting text extracts from websites; to describe the position of these extracts among the other elements of the website interface; to indicate the extract functions. The websites of the following publishing houses with the highest profits on the sale of books, including those for children and youth in 2013–2015, have been selected for the study: Wydawnictwo Olesiejuk, Wydawnictwo AMEET , Grupa Wydawnicza Foksal, Prószyński Media, Grupa Publicat, Nasza Księgarnia, Wydawnictwo Czarna Owca.
    Celem artykułu jest analiza zawartości stron internetowych wybranych wydawnictw mających w swojej ofercie książkę adresowaną do młodego odbiorcy pod kątem obecności na nich tekstu literackiego. Postanowiono zastosować narzędzia netnografii oraz metodę funkcjonalną, aby: zidentyfikować kryteria doboru fragmentów tekstów umieszczanych na stronach internetowych, opisać miejsce tych fragmentów wśród innych elementów interfejsu strony, wskazać funkcje, jakie owe fragmenty pełnią. Do badań wybrano strony następujących wydawnictw osiągających w latach 2013–2015 najwyższe zyski ze sprzedaży książek, w tym tych dla dzieci i młodzieży: Wydawnictwo Olesiejuk, Wydawnictwo AMEET, Grupa Wydawnicza Foksal, Prószyński Media, Grupa Publicat, Nasza Księgarnia, Wydawnictwo Czarna Owca.

    Opis:
    The primary purpose of this publication is to describe the last thirty years, comparing and organizing the phenomena in the reception of Czech literature for children and young adults in Poland after 1989. The mutual Polish-Czech relations and the reconstruction of the Polish publishing system had a significant impact on the nature and intensity of this reception. The relations from the end of World War II to 1989 were limited by specific political, economic, and cultural conditions and controlled by the state institutions established for that purpose.
    Tato studie se snaží popsat stav recepce české literatury pro děti a mládež v Polsku po roce 1989. Před více než 30 lety Polsko a Česká republika nastoupily na dráhu politické, sociální a ekonomické obnovy. Metamorfóza všech projevů společenského života zasáhla také kulturu a literaturu, včetně knih určených mladším a nejmladším příjemcům. Objevila se nová vydavatelství uvádějící na polský trh publikace českých autorů, kteří dříve zůstávali polskému čtenáři neznámí. Nakladatelství dodávají texty zajímavé nejen z hlediska obsahu, ale také formy, přizpůsobují svou nabídku měnícím se čtenářským preferencím. Za zdůraznění stojí, že se vydavatelství aktivně podílejí na výchově mladých generací, vkládají velké úsilí do toho, aby propagovala hodnotnou literaturu, včetně té české. Tyto nové fenomény týkající se českých knih pro děti a mládež dostupných v polských překladech jsou předmětem analýzy a interpretace této studie.

    Opis:
    An important part of the contemporary market of children's books are publications dedicated to science. In the vast majority of the form adapted to the child's age glossaries and encyclopedias, of a general nature, or on a slice of reality as the universe, dinosaurs, animals, plants. Although these are undoubtedly extremely valuable items, it seems that suit the needs of quite specific - and most important numerically limited-type audience: people interested in science and learning, and not necessarily as happy up after literature. Books of Anna Czerwińska-Rydel, an author of numerous fictionalized biographies, including Maria Curie-Skłodowska, Johannes Hevelius or Daniel Fahrenheit shows, however, that you can successfully write texts about science dedicated to a completely different, more "literary" set of the reader. An article is an attempt a presentation of books of the author devoted to famous - as above - and less well known, as Jan Czochralski or Elizabeth Hevelius, scientists and their achievements. In particular, the focus will be on how to present complicated science topics using of the poetics specific to a literary text.
    Publikacje poświęcone nauce stanowią ważną część współczesnego rynku książki dla dzieci. W zdecydowanej większości mają one formę dostosowanych do wieku dziecka leksykonów i miniencyklopedii, zarówno o charakterze ogólnym, jak i poświęconych określonemu wycinkowi rzeczywistości (np. kosmos, dinozaury, zwierzęta, rośliny). Choć są to niewątpliwie pozycje wartościowe, wydaje się, że wychodzą naprzeciw potrzebom specyficznego − i zarazem liczebnie ograniczonego − typu odbiorcy: osób zainteresowanych nauką, niekoniecznie zaś równie chętnie sięgających po literaturę, tzw. „umysłów ścisłych”. Twórczość Anny Czerwińskiej-Rydel, autorki licznych fabularyzowanych biografii (m.in. Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej, Jana Heweliusza czy Daniela Fahrenheita) pokazuje jednak, że można z powodzeniem pisać teksty poświęcone nauce, kierowane do zupełnie inaczej, bardziej „literacko”, nastawionego czytelnika. Artykuł jest próbą prezentacji książek autorki poświęconych znanym (jak wyżej wymienieni) i mniej znanym (np. Jan Czochralski czy Elżbieta Heweliusz) naukowcom oraz ich dokonaniom. W szczególności koncentrować się będzie na sposobach prezentowania skomplikowanych zagadnień z zakresu nauk ścisłych przy pomocy poetyki właściwej dla tekstu literackiego.

    The article begins with an overview of the childhood conceptions found in literature for children’s and young people. The conception of childhood in the Enlightenment is directed towards the future. The characters are serious and strive to become better people. They are an example for the recipients. Romanticism, on the other hand, tries to undermine this idea, and evokes a golden age of childhood. The first type dominated Soviet literature for children and young people. This changed in the 21st century. The analysis of Sabitova’s, Emec’s, Wostokows’s, Krjukova’s, Murašova’s and Verkin’s novels shows how these childhood myths are successfully combined in modern books for children and young adults.
