Opis:: Given a linear discrete system with initial state x₀ and output function y_i , we investigate a low dimensional linear system that produces, with a tolerance index ϵ, the same output function when the initial state belongs to a specified set, called ϵ-admissible set, that we characterize by a finite number of inequalities. We also give an algorithm which allows us to determine an ϵ-admissible set.

In the paper the observability problem for the positive and the standard linear discrete-time fractional order system with one state delay is presented. Necessary and sufficient conditions for [...]-observability are formulated and proved. A simple method for computing the initial condition is proposed. Considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

Opis:: The positivity and asymptotic stability of the descriptor time-varying discrete-time linear systems are addressed. The Weierstrass-Kronecker theorem on the decomposition of the regular pencil is extended to the time-varying discrete-time descriptor linear systems. Using the extension necessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity of the systems are established. Sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of the positive systems are presented. The effectiveness of the tests is demonstrated on the example.

Opis:: The notion of finite zeros of discrete-time positive linear systems is introduced. It is shown that such zeros are real nonnegative numbers. It is also shown that a square positive strictly proper or proper system of uniform rank with the observability matrix of full column rank has no finite zeros. The problem of zeroing the system output for positive systems is defined. It is shown that a square positive strictly proper or proper system of uniform rank with the observability matrix of full column rank has no nontrivial output-zeroing inputs. The obtained results remain valid for non-square positive systems with the first nonzero Markov parameter of full column rank.

Opis:: The paper mitigates the existing conditions reported in the previous literature for control design of discrete-time linear positive systems. Incorporating an associated structure of linear matrix inequalities, combined with the Lyapunov inequality guaranteing asymptotic stability of discrete-time positive system structures, new conditions are presented with which the state-feedback controllers and the system state observers can be designed. Associated solutions of the proposed design conditions are illustrated by numerical illustrative examples.

Opis:: First, we consider non-linear discrete-time and continuous-time systems with unknown inputs. The problem of reconstructing an input using the information given by an output equation is investigated. Then we examine a control problem for non-linear discrete-time hereditary systems, i.e. the problem of finding a control which drives the state of the system from its initial value to a given desired final state. The methods used to solve these problems are based on the state-space technique and fixed-point theorems. To illustrate the outlined ideas, various numerical simulation results are presented.

Opis:: In this paper we study the dynamical behavior of linear discrete-time fractional systems. The first main result is that the norm of the difference of two different solutions of a time-varying discrete-time Caputo equation tends to zero not faster than polynomially. The second main result is a complete description of the decay to zero of the trajectories of one-dimensional time-invariant stable Caputo and Riemann-Liouville equations. Moreover, we present Volterra convolution equations, that are equivalent to Caputo and Riemann-Liouvile equations and we also show an explicit formula for the solution of systems of time-invariant Caputo equations.

Podano też metodę wyznaczania nieujemnych warunków brzegowych, dla których trajektoria stanu układu względnie punktowo zupełnego przechodzi przez dowolny zadany nieujemny stan końcowy. Rozważania zilustrowano przykładem.
The paper considers a class of linear 2D positive continuous-discrete time fractional order systems. The definitions of pointwise completeness and relative pointwise completeness are introduced and necessary and sufficient conditions are given. The considerations are illustrated by numerical example.

Opis:: The paper addresses the problem of constrained pole placement in discrete-time linear systems. The design conditions are outlined in terms of linear matrix in equalities for the D-stable ellipse region in the complex Z plain. In addition, it is demonstrated that the D-stable circle region formulation is the special case of by this way formulated and solved pole placement problem. The proposed principle is enhanced for discrete-time linear systems with polytopic uncertainties.
