Opis:
The paper has characterized the method of multiple moving least-square approximation with polynomials, known as the Savitzky-Golay filter. This method enables smoothing the measurement series, decomposition and separation of disturbances, generation of derivatives as well as approximate integration of measurement series. The smoothing properties of the method as well as the possibilities of separation and decomposition of disturbances are shown on the examples of treatment of the selected indicator graph. The attention was paid to the need for additional application of special filters in case of abnormal impulse deviations. The examples show that in case of the analyzed curve, the results of smoothing by means of several wave filters from Wavelet Explorer package, are worse than those received with the methods of moving approximation. On the derivatives of smoothened curve by means of wavelet filters, there are significant oscillations, what is typical of the whole-interval approximation with spline functions. One should highlight the high simplicity of algorithms of multiple moving approximation and associated with this, high speed of operation, what particularly predisposes this method of data processing in an on-line mode. The authors presented their own proposals of programs for measurement data processing with the method of multiple moving approximation with polynomials, with the possibility of selection of an approximation polynomial to the fifth degree. The programs were developed in the Excel and Delphi environment.

Opis:
The results of marking average courses of subsidence measured on the points of measuring line no. 1 of the “Budryk” Hard Coal Mine, set approximately perpendicularly to a face run of four consecutively mined longwalls in coal bed 338/2 have been presented in the article. Smooth splines were used to approximate the average course of measured subsidence after subsequent exploitation stages. The minimising of the sum of the squared differences between the average and forecasted subsidence, using J. Bialek's formula, was used as a selection criterion of parameter values of smoothing an approximating function. The parameter values of this formula have been chosen in order to match forecasted subsidence with measured ones. The average values of inclinations have been calculated on the basis of approximated values of observed subsidence. It has been shown that by doing this the average values of extreme measured inclinations can be obtained in almost the same way as extreme observed inclinations. It is not necessary to divide the whole profile of a subsidence basin into parts. The obtained values of variability coefficients of a random scattering for subsidence and inclinations are smaller than their values which occur in the literature.

Opis:
Elicitation of utilities is among the most time consuming tasks in decision analysis. We search for ways to shorten this phase without compromising the quality of results. We use the results from an empirical experiment with 104 participants. They elicited 9 inner nodes from their one-dimensional utility function over monetary gains and losses using three elicitation techniques. A specific feature of the results is their interval character, as the elicitators are fuzzy rational individuals. The data is used to construct arctan-approximated and linearly interpolated utilities and to compare the results. We form partial samples with 3, 4 and 5 nodes for each participant and each elicitation method, and again interpolate/approximate the utilities. We introduce goodness-of-fit and deterioration measures to analyze the decrease in quality of the utility function due to reduced data nodes. The analysis, using paired-sample tests, leads to the following conclusions: 1) arctan-approximation is more adequate than linear interpolation over the whole samples; 2) 5 inner nodes are sufficient to construct a satisfactory arctan-approximation; 3) arctan-approximation and linear interpolation are almost equal in quality over the partial samples, but the local risk aversion of the linearly interpolated utility function is of poor quality unlike that of the arctan-approximated utility function.

Opis:
There are many disadvantages affecting the accuracy of surface topography measurement and analysis. One of them are the errors obtained during data processing. Usually surface topographies of car engine parts are studied after form removal. Many algorithms and procedures were developed and suggested. However, the selection of reference plane with accordance to surface topography measurements of cylindrical elements was not fully recognized. In this paper least square fitting methods (cylinder, polynomial) and commercial filters (Gaussian filter, Gaussian regression filter and robust Gaussian regression filter) for areal form removal were compared and proposed. Three types of surfaces: cylinder liners after plateau-honing, plateau-honed cylinder liners with oil pockets created by burnishing techniques and turned piston skirts were analyzed. Distortion of surface topography parameters (from ISO 25178 standard) according to improper selection of reference plane was also taken into consideration. It was assumed that least square fitted cylinder plane gave better results for both of type cylinder liners according to commonly used algorithm. However, for piston skirt surfaces the obtained results were very similar. For least square polynomial fittings it was found that applied method for cylinder liners gave usually better robustness for scratches, valleys and dimples occurrence. For piston skirt surfaces better edge-filtering results were obtained. It was also recommended to analyse the Sk parameters for proper selection of reference plane in surface topography measurements.

Opis:
In paper the proposition of Strejc model based, transfer function, fractional model, (called SSF model) is presented. The model is dedicated to describe high-order control plants. Parameters of the model were ealeulated numerically with the use of the least square method and MATLAB/SIMULINK. Results of simulations show, that the proposed model assures very good accuracy associated to relatively Iow order in comparison to other models describing the considered exemplary control plant.
W pracy omówiono propozycję zastępczego modelu transmi-tancyjnego ułamkowego rzędu bazującego na modelu Strejca, nazywanego modelem SSF (ang: Strejc Semi Fractional model). Model jest dedykowany do opisu obiektów regulacji wysokiego rzędu. Parametry modelu zostały wyznaczone numerycznie z wykorzystaniem metody najmniejszych kwadratów i środowiska MATLAB/ SIMULINK. Wyniki badań symulacyjnych wskazują, że w przypadku doświadczalnego obiektu cieplnego proponowany model zapewnia bardzo dobrą dokładność przy niskim rzędzie w porównaniu z innymi modelami rozważanego obiektu.
