Celem artykułu była próba zdiagnozowania natężenia występowania marnotrawstwa w przedsiębiorstwach usługowych na tle rodzajów marnotrawstwa możliwych do zidentyfikowania w organizacjach oraz źródeł ich powstawania. Badania przeprowadzono w branży ciepłowniczej. Teza badawcza: w przedsiębiorstwach ciepłowniczych z największym natężeniem występuje marnotrawstwo związane z „zacofaniem” technicznym i technologicznym wytwarzania oraz przesyłu ciepła. Zastosowana metoda: sondaż diagnostyczny przeprowadzony w wybranych do badań przedsiębiorstwach branży.
The aim of the article was an attempt to diagnose the intensity of the waste occurrence in service companies in comparison with types of waste, possible to identify in organizations and sources of their formation. The study was carried out in the heat engineering trade. Research thesis: it is in district heating companies that waste resulting from technological „backwardness” of the heat generation and transfer appears with the largest intensity. Applied method: a diagnostic survey carried out in companies selected from the studied trade enterprises.

Lean Management is a management concept, creating such a work culture at a company that makes all employees strive to continuously reduce costs, improve the quality and shorten delivery cycle to maximally meet customers' expectations and adapt to the environment by eliminating any waste identified and the integration of activities connected with the stream creating customer value. This article presents the results of research related to the concepts of Lean Management in the modern enterprise, which were conducted among employees of Wielkopolska businesses.

The article presents an analysis of three options to reduce the share of changeovers time in the available time of working machines. The first option concerns the reduction of the number and share of changeover times by grouping them in the production schedule by technologically similarity. The similarity is understood as production of products using the same settings of machines or using the same equipment. For the purpose of such approach patterns of clustering and queuing production orders in work schedules machines are formed. This enables the rapid and substantial reduction in the share of changeovers in the available working time of machine without interfering with the retooling process itself. By only knowing the structure of retooling and extract these essential elements, which by pooling and templates queuing can be avoided. In this case, increase the efficiency of the machine is achieved, however, at the same time stocks of both semi-finished and finished products increases and extends the duration of the customer contracts internal or external. The second variant is related to the analysis of the effect of shortening changeover times on the availability of machines. This approach was applied to organizational changes of retooling of machines in accordance with SMED method. This requires the involvement of all people involved in the process and examine depth of the whole process of retooling. At the same time this allows for a significant improvement in the efficiency of the machine without increasing inventory and maximizing production orders. The third analysis includes the simultaneous application of queuing pattern of production orders for individual products in the schedules of the machine and to shorten setup times. This approach allows for rapid improvement of the equipment with relatively low effort and cost.

Zmiany obserwowane współcześnie pozwalają na konstatacje nie tylko w zakresie rozwoju efektów materialnych procesów gospodarczych, lecz także na polu zarządzania tymi procesami. Interesującą egzemplifikacją tych ostatnich zmian umożliwia spojrzenie na rozwój koncepcji Lean management i Agile management. Jako wspólną płaszczyznę przyjęto aspekt usieciowienia przedsiębiorstw. Przeprowadzone rozważania pozwalają przypuszczać, że rozwój organizacji stosujących koncepcję Agile jest powiązany ze wzrostem znaczenia relacji sieciowych, co z kolei traktować należy jako reakcję na wzrost niepewności w podejmowaniu decyzji. Jednocześnie usieciowienie nie może być rozpatrywane w kategoriach uniwersalnych. Przytoczono dane wskazujące, że konsolidacja aktywów w ramach korporacyjnych nadal odgrywa istotną rolę w procesie budowy przewagi strategicznej.
Changes observed today let statements not only in the range of economic processes material effects, but also on the field of those processes management. The look at Lean management and Agile management concepts improvement allows an interesting exemplification of mentioned changes. As the common basis, the network aspect has been assumed. The presented considerations lead to assumption, the development of organizations using the Agile management concept is connected with building – up network relations. Further, these relations are joined with the decision uncertainty growth. At the other side, network creating processes should not be treated as a universal category. There are data in this article, that the assets consolidation within corporation is still important to strategic advantage creation.

This paper proposes the application of the digital numerical control (DNC) technique to connect the smart meter to the inspection system and evaluate the total harmonic distortion (THD) value of power supply voltage in IEEE 519 standard by measuring the system. Experimental design by the Taguchi method is proposed to evaluate the compatibility factors to choose Urethane material as an alternative to SS400 material for roller fabrication at the machining center. Computer vision uses artificial intelligence (AI) technique to identify object iron color in distinguishing black for urethane material and white for SS400 material, color recognition results are evaluated by measuring system, system measurement is locked when the object of identification is white material SS400. Computer vision using AI technology is also used to recognize facial objects and control the layout of machining staff positions according to their respective skills. The results obtained after the study are that the surface scratches in the machining center are reduced from 100% to zero defects and the surface polishing process is eliminated, shortening production lead time, and reducing 2 employees. The total operating cost of the processing line decreased by 5785 USD per year. Minitab 18.0 software uses statistical model analysis, experimental design, and Taguchi technical analysis to evaluate the process and experimentally convert materials for roller production. MATLAB 2022a runs a computer vision model using artificial intelligence (AI) to recognize color objects to classify Urethane and SS400 materials and recognize the faces of people who control employee layout positions according to their respective skills.

Application of selected quality tools to increase machine efficiency in a production enterprise Maintaining the company’s technical infrastructure in an appropriate condition is a prerequisite for ensuring stability in the implementation of production processes. The effectiveness of actions implemented to achieve this goal improves the use of adequate quality methods and tools. This article shows the practical implications of tools such as Pareto analysis, Ishikawa diagram, MTTR, MTBF to increase the efficiency of machine operation by eliminating the main causes of downtime of an automatic molding line and implementing effective corrective actions.

The study the possibility of using selected tools/methods of the Lean Manufacturing concept and tools supporting quality management in reducing production problems, was presented. The own research was divided into three stages in which production problems were identified, methods of reducing them were identified, and their effectiveness in terms of problem elimination/reduction was assessed. It was possible to identify the causes of the problems thanks to the 5Why method and the cause and effect diagram (Ishikawa diagram). In terms of the methods/tools of the Lean Manufacturing concept, the following were used: 5S method, visual management, One Point Lesson (OPL), Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Own research was carried out in the automotive industry. The identified production problems include: stoppage of the production line, incorrect bending process, waste. Each of the methods/tools used had a different effect on limiting the identified production problems. For the purposes of the study, a three-point scale was also adopted, allowing to determine the impact of tools/methods on reducing the identified problems. Therefore, it turned out to be important to implement several methods/tools simultaneously. The implemented methods allowed for the effective limitation of the occurrence of the identified problems.

Zmiany środowiskowe wymuszają w przedsiębiorstwach ciągłe modernizacje, zarówno technologiczne, organizacyjne, jak i produktowe. Kładziony jest nacisk na eliminację marnotrawstwa jako przejaw zarządzania świadomego i zrównoważonego. Dąży się więc do eliminacji nadmiernych kosztów, czasu i wysiłku pracowników. Jedną z metod weryfikacji i analizy procesów jest metoda obserwacji migawkowej. Pozwala ona zbadać strukturę czasu pracy pracowników lub urządzeń, a na podstawie wyników analizy zaproponować rekomendacje dla przedsiębiorstwa. Dzięki wykorzystaniu metody obserwacji migawkowej, możliwe było określenie struktury czasu pracy operatorów linii sortującej, a następnie przedstawienie propozycji usprawnień procesu.
Environmental changes force enterprises to constantly modernize, both technological, organizational and product-oriented. The emphasis is put on the elimination of waste as a manifestation of conscious and sustainable management. It strives to eliminate excessive costs, time and effort of employees. One of the methods of verification and analysis of processes is work sampling. It allows you to examine the structure of working time of employees or devices, and based on the results of the analysis, suggest recommendations for the company. Thanks to the use of work sampling, it was possible to determine the structure of the working time of the sorting line operators, and then to present the suggestions for process improvements.

Praca posiada charakter teoretyczno-empiryczny, dotyczy zastosowania metody Kanban w zarządzaniu procesami operacyjnymi w wielobranżowym biurze projektów. Początkowo przybliża tematykę zarządzania procesami operacyjnymi, ukazując główne definicje i uwarunkowania. Następnie omówione są podstawy związane z Kanban – jego powiązaniem z lean management, jak i kartami kanbanowymi. Duże znaczenie mają korzyści i zalety implementacji systemu Kanban we współczesnych organizacjach. Praca skupia się również na procesach operacyjnych, jak i zarządzaniu projektami, wprowadzając w główną problematykę.Celem pracy jest analiza potencjału zastosowania metody Kanban w zarządzaniu procesami operacyjnymi w wielobranżowym biurze projektów. Metodologia odnosi się do tego zagadnienia, rozkładając je na problemy, hipotezy, jak i podstawy wstępne do przeprowadzenia badania. Empiryczna część pracy jest związana z analizą materiałów źródłowych, jak i kwestionariuszem ankiety, samodzielnie opracowanym na cele badania. Praca wskazuje, iż zastosowanie metody Kanban w zarządzaniu procesami operacyjnymi w wielobranżowym biurze projektów jest korzystnym i skutecznym rozwiązaniem dla wspomagania działań.
The work is of the theoretico-empirical character and it concerns the application of the Kanban method in managing operational processes in a multi-branch office of projects. At the beginning the topic of managing operational projects has been discus-sed showing the main definitions and conditionings. Then, the bases connected with Kanban have been discussed – their connection with lean management and Kanban cards. Of big importance are the benefits and advantages of implementing the Kanban system in contemporary organizations. The work concentrates also on the operational processes as well as project management introducing its major issues.The aim of the work is the analysis of the potential of the Kanban method application in managing operational processes in a multi-branch office of projects. The methodology refers to this issue decomposing it into problems, hyptheses as well as the bases necessary to carry out the research. The empirical part of the work is connected with the analysis of source materials as well as the questionnaire prepared independently for the purpose of the research. The work shows that the application of the Kanban method in managing operational processes in a multi-branch office of projects is a beneficial and effective solution to support the activities.

Wprowadzanie innowacji organizacyjnych jest istotnym działaniem wpływającym na efektywność funkcjonowania organizacji. W niniejszej publikacji zaprezentowano jedną z metod lean management – metodę mapowania strumienia wartości. Na podstawie literatury przedmiotu przedstawiono najważniejsze założenia metody. Na przykładzie przykładowej firmy przemysłowej przedstawiono przykład zastosowania tejże metody w zakresie wprowadzania innowacji organizacyjnych. W artykule przedstawiono mapę stanu obecnego i mapę stanu przyszłego koncentrując się na efektach zastosowania metody.
Organizational innovation is an important activity affecting the productivity of the organization. This paper presents a method of lean management – the method of value stream mapping. On the basis of the literature we shows the main features of the method. For example, a sample of industrial companies is an example of applying this method in the field of organizational innovation. This paper presents the current state map and a map of the future by focusing on the effects of the method.

Podano różnice i podobieństwa pomiędzy obiema metodami, a także opisano metodę Lean Six Sigma, będącą połączeniem najważniejszych zalet Lean Management i Six Sigma. Przedstawiono przypadki wdrożenia tej metody w przemyśle wydobywczym oraz przykładowe efekty finansowe. Branża górnicza jest miejscem, gdzie efekt synergii powstały z połączenia Lean i Six Sigma jest szczególnie wysoki.
The article characterizes currently most popular methods for improving production processes: Lean Management (Lean Production, Lean Manufacturing) and Six Sigma (6 Sigma, 6σ). It also presents the differences and similarities between the two methods. Subsequently paper describes Lean Six Sigma method, which is a combination of the most important advantages of Lean Management and Six Sigma. The implementation of this method in the mining industry and examples of financial results are reported. Mining industry is the area where the synergy effect created from the combination of Lean and Six Sigma is particularly high.

Visible changes in the functioning of public administration, according to the New Public Management approach, are possible thanks to the use of new concepts implemented by the management system. Today, one of them deserves special attention – it’s called Lean Management, which is an extremely innovative management method, visible primarily in companies. Using Lean Management, focus is on detecting and eliminating unnecessary activities. This assumption is based on the fact that this concept is a process that shapes organizations. It uses a variety of tools and techniques to consciously eliminate waste through the use of intelligence and creativity. These steps contribute to building public confidence in the public sector, while at the same time shaping appropriate employee satisfaction in public administration.
Widoczne zmiany w funkcjonowaniu administracji publicznej wg podejścia New Public Management (MPM) są możliwe dzięki wykorzystaniu nowych koncepcji wdrażanych przez system zarządzania. Obecnie jedna z nich zasługuje na szczególną uwagę – jest to tzw. koncepcja Lean Management (LM), która jest niezwykle innowacyjną metodą zarządzania, widoczną przede wszystkim w przedsiębiorstwach prywatnych. Wykorzystując koncepcję Lean Management, należy się skupiać na wykrywaniu i eliminowaniu niepotrzebnych działań. Z takiego założenia wynika fakt, iż koncepcja ta jest procesem, który kształtuje organizacje. Wykorzystuje do tego celu różne narzędzia i techniki, dzięki którym następuje świadoma eliminacja marnotrawstwa poprzez wykorzystanie inteligencji i kreatywności pracowników. Przyczyniają się to do budowania zaufania obywateli do sektora publicznego przy jednoczesnym kształtowaniu odpowiedniej satysfakcji zatrudnionych w administracji publicznej pracowników.

Opis:
Lean Management jest już często stosowane w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych. Zyskało ono popularność dzięki szczególnym wynikom osiąganym przez jego zastosowanie. Jednak w usługach stosowanie Lean nasuwa wiele pytań i wątpliwości. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie koniecznych dostosowań zasad obowiązujących w Lean do działalności usługowej. Artykuł ma charakter analityczno-koncepcyjny i opiera się na studiach światowej literatury przedmiotu. Określono w nim kluczowe wyzwania wiążące się z stosowaniem Lean w usługach, należą do nich: 1) kultura organizacyjna, która jest filarem Lean powinna być poszerzona o ujęcie usługowe, 2) strumień wartości musi uwzględnić działania realizowane przez klientów, 3) zagadnienie marnotrawstwa powinno być poszerzone o jego nowe znaczenia typowe dla usług, 4) standaryzacja wymaga nowego ujęcia uwzględniającego specyfikę usługową, 5) narzędzia Lean, szeroko rozpowszechnione w tym podejściu, wymagają przepracowania i opracowania nowych.
Lean management is very often used by manufacturing companies. It gained its popularity thanks to the outstanding results achieved because of it. However, in services, the use of lean is associated with a number of questions and doubts. The purpose of this article is to indicate the necessary adjustments of lean principles for service operations. This article takes an analytical-conceptual approach and is based on the studies of the world literature of the subject. It identifies the key challenges associated with lean in services, including: (1) the organisational culture that is the pillar of lean should be broadened to include a service approach, (2) the value stream must take into account customer actions, (3) the waste issue should be extended to include new service-specific ones, (4) standardisation requires a new service-oriented approach, (5) lean tools, that are widely used in this approach, require to be reworked and developed.
Бережливое управление (lean management) уже часто применяется на промышленных предприятиях. Оно получило распространение благодаря особым результатам, достигаемым с его применением. В услугах же применение принципа lean сопяржено со многими вопросами и сомнениями. Цель статьи – указать необходимые приспособления принципов, обязывающих в lean, к обслуживающей деятельности. Статья имеет аналитико-концептуальный характер и основывается на изучении мировой литературы по предмету. В ней определили основные вызовы, связанные с применением lean в услугах. К ним относят: 1) организационную культуру, которая представляет собой ко- стяк lean, надо расширить на услуги, 2) поток ценностей должен учитывать дествия, осуществляемые клиентами, 3) вопрос расточительства должен быть расширен на его новые значения, типичные для услуг, 4) стандартизация тре- бует нового подхода, учитывающего специфику услуг, 5) инструменты lean, широко распространенные в этом подходе, требуют переработки и разработки новых.

Resilience engineering i lean management to koncepcje zarządzania, które posługują się odmienną filozofią. O ile lean management zajmuje się, w dużym uproszczeniu, optymalizacją funkcjonowania organizacji znajdującej się w określonym stanie i działającej w danym otoczeniu, o tyle zadaniem, jakie stawia sobie resilience engineering, jest przygotowanie organizacji do uniknięcia lub stawienia czoła trudnościom, również tym nieprzewidywalnym. W artykule podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie na ile te koncepcje na gruncie teoretycznym wzajemnie się wykluczają, na ile natomiast mogą być traktowane komplementarnie.
Resilience engineering and lean management are management concepts that use a different philosophy. While lean management deals, to a large extent, with the optimization of the functioning of an organization in a particular stale and operating m a given environment, the task that resilience engineering sets itself is to prepare the organization to avoid or face difficulties, including unpredictable ones. The article attempts to answer the question to what extent these concepts on theoretical grounds are mutually exclusive, and how they can be treated complementarily.
