Opis:
In this paper are presented the investigation results concerning microstructure as well as mechanical properties of the surface layer of cast aluminium-silicon-copper alloy after heat treatment alloyed and/ or remelted with SiC ceramic powder using High Power Diode Laser (HPDL). For investigation of the achieved structure following methods were used: light and scanning electron microscopy with EDS microanalysis as well as mechanical properties using Rockwell hardness tester were measured. By mind of scanning electron microscopy, using secondary electron detection was it possible to determine the distribution of ceramic SiC powder phase occurred in the alloy after laser treatment. After the laser surface treatment carried out on the previously heat treated aluminium alloys, in the structure are observed changes concerning the distribution and morphology of the alloy phases as well as the added ceramic powder, these features influence the hardness of the obtained layers. In the structure, there were discovered three zones: the remelting zone (RZ) the heat influence zone (HAZ) and transition zone, with different structure and properties. In this paper also the laser treatment conditions: the laser power and ceramic powder feed rate were investigated. The surface laser structure changes in a manner, that there zones are revealed in the form of. This carried out investigations make it possible to develop, interesting technology, which could be very attractive for different branches of industry.

Opis:
Recycled Al-Zn-Si casting alloys can often be used in new cast products for mechanical engineering, in hydraulic castings, textile machinery parts, cable car components or big parts without heat treatment. Improved mechanical properties and favourable of recycled microstructure of Al-alloys can often significantly increase the lifetime of casting and reduce costs for fuel and reduction of environmental loading. The paper is focused on using one of possible technologies that provide increased mechanical properties of recycled aluminium cast alloys for automotive industry, and that is laser surface hardening. For study was used recycled AlZn10Si8Mg cast alloy. The effect of laser beam Nd: YAG lasers BLS 720 was evaluated with the laser power 50 W and 80 W on the surface of samples. The final microstructure of aluminium alloys depend on the laser process parameters. The changes of microstructure as a grain refinement of the microstructure after laser surface hardening was observed by using classical techniques of etching and deep etching with concentrated HCl. Microstructure was evaluated on an optical microscope Neophot 32 and SEM.

Opis:
Investigations include alloying the PMHSS6-5-3 steel surface layer with carbide and ceramic powders WC, VC, TiC, SiC, Si3N4 and Al2O3, using the high power diode laser (HPDL). Laser treatment is especially promising for solving contemporary surface engineering problems making it possible to focus precisely the delivered energy in the form of heat in the surface layer. The structural mechanism was determined of surface layers development, effect was studied of alloying parameters, method on structure refinement and influence of these factors on the mechanical properties of surface layer, and especially on its abrasive wear resistance. The fine grained martensite structure is responsible for hardness increase of the alloyed layer. The tribological wear relationships were determined for laser treated surface layers, determining friction coefficient, and wear trace shape developed due to the abrasive wear of the investigated surfaces. Comparison of the laser treatment parameters and tribological properties of surface layer after remelting and alloying with hard particles of the PMHSS6-5-3 steel using the high power diode laser to obtain the optimum service properties is the outcome of the investigations carried out.

The aim of this research paper is to present laser surface treatment technologies, investigation of properties of the HS6-5-3-8 high-speed steel \ alloying with ceramic particles using High Power Diode Laser. Selection of laser operating conditions is discussed, as well as beam face quality after remelting, hardness, micro hardness test, wear resistant. Remelting of the steel with introducing into liquid molten pool the alloying additions in the form of ceramic powders, causes significant increase of properties of surface layer of investigated steel in comparison to its analogical properties obtained through conventional heat treatment, depending on the laser beam power implemented for remelting. The increase of hardness of surface layer obtained throughout remelting and alloying with carbides by high power diode laser is accompanied by increase of tribological properties, when comparing to the steel processed with conventional heat treatment.

In this paper, results of surface modification, using a laser-produced plasma source of extreme ultraviolet, and the extreme ultraviolet induced low temperature plasmas, are presented. It was shown that irradiation of different materials by intense extreme ultraviolet pulses results in strong changes of the surface morphology. Examples of micro- and nanostructures obtained this way are presented. It was also demonstrated that a dual action of the radiation pulses and low temperature plasmas allows to modify a molecular structure of exposed materials.

Opis:
Laser cladding is a method that can be applied to repair the crack and break on the mold and die surfaces, as well as generate new attributes on the surface to improve toughness, hardness, and corrosion resistance. It is used to extend the life of the mold. It also has the advantages of superior bonding strength and precision coating on a local area compared with the conventional thermal spraying technology. In this study, we investigated the effect of cladding on low carbon alloy steel using 18%Cr-2.5%Ni-Fe powder (Rockit404), which showed high hardness on the die surface. The process conditions were performed in an argon atmosphere using a diode laser source specialized for 900-1070 nm, and the output conditions were 5, 6, and 10 kW, respectively. After the cladding was completed, the surface coating layer’s shape, the hardness according to the cross-section’s thickness, and the microstructure were analyzed.

Opis:
The effect of laser surface treatment on structure and mechanical properties aluminium Alloy enac-AlMg9 In this work, the influence of a high power diode laser surface treatment on the structure and properties of aluminium alloy has been determined. The aim of this study was to improve the mechanical and tribological properties of the surface layer of the aluminium alloy by simultaneously melting and feeding tungsten carbide particles into the molten pool. During the process was used high-power diode laser HPDL. In order to remelt the aluminium alloy surface the HPDL laser of 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 kW laser beam power has been used. The linear laser scan rate of the beam was set 0.5 em's. In order to protect the liquid metal during laser treatment was used argon. As a base material was used aluminium alloy ENAC -AlMg9. To improve the surface mechanical and wear properties of the applied aluminium alloy was used biphasic tungsten carbide WC/W2C. The size of alloying powder was in the range 110-210 μm. The ceramic powder was introduced in the remelting zone by a gravity feeder at a constant rate of 8 g/m.

Opis:
In this paper, selected examples of the laser texturing of the surface layer patterning of the elements of the combustion engines were presented. A laser oil micro-container fabrication method was presented. Finishing cylinder liner, spigot of the camshaft, spigot of the crankshaft, rod and piston pin of the combustions engine were patterned. Laser patterning was done with the Nd: YAG laser with wavelength of λ=1064 nm. The manufactured micro-containers provide better lubrication of the friction associations. The conducted experiments allowed obtaining very regular surface texture what was found to be advantageous to the tribological processes and decrease of the wear of the frictional association in the combustions engines. Micro-bowls and micro-grooves were formed on the selected elements of the crank-piston elements and timing gear elements, including: the main spigots and rod spigots of the crankshaft, side surfaces of the base and the connecting rod head, piston pin and peg of the camshaft of the ZI type 126A1 engine. Textured elements of the piston-rod system and the camshaft were then successfully applied in a real object in so-called “cold ignitions” in low temperature chamber. With the use of laser ablation texturing, at optimized experimental parameters, it is possible to form on the piston-rod and timing gear elements oil micro-containers with varied shapes and surface coverage. It allows improving the association conditions in these systems, especially due to the formation of oil microfilm, which efficiently separates mentioned elements even while under high thermal, heat and mechanical load.
