Spectral properties of ladder and spatial electrical networks are considered. Dynamic properties of the networks are characterised by eigenvalues of the Jacobi cyclic state matrix. The effective formulas for eigenvalues of appropriate uniform systems are given. Numerical calculations were made using MATLAB.

In many religious traditions, ascension into heaven is a specific way to become initiated into a new, sacred status. It is a journey which implies a dichotomy of plans: firstly the profane–sacred plan, secondly the telluric–celestial plan, both of them being transformed by the possibility of communication through transcendence. This possibility waives the dichotomy during the ascension and keeps an opening status between the elements of each dichotomy, after the ending of the ascension: the sacred will be opened to the profane, the celestial will be opened to the telluric. Muhammad Night’s Journey is an event which can be read through such a key. However Muḥammad’s Night Journey cannot be limited at this point of view. The event is more complex as we deal with an initiatic path to a temporal and spiritual leadership. As Geo Widengren concluded in his two studies The Ascension of the Apostle and the Heavenly Book and Muhammad, the Apostle of God and His Ascension, Muhammad’s Night Journey reflects a ritual of sovereignty which is specific to the Ancient Near East, in regards with the ascension of the king as a central event concerning his coronation. Muhammad’s Night Journey reflects also a ritual during which Muhammad sees God, and he is sacred as a prophet, being in direct contact with God and with the other monotheistic prophets (as the literature of the 9th century in the Islamic milieu tries to describe). This initiatic path does not have (as a result) the transformation of Muhammad into a character with divine powers; it has (as a result) the unification into Muḥammad’s person of two different powers, the temporal and the spiritual one, and the confirmation of Muhammad as a spiritual and temporal leader for a new community.

For a graph G an edge-covering of G is a family of subgraphs H1, H2, . . ., Ht such that each edge of E(G) belongs to at least one of the subgraphs Hi, i = 1, 2, . . ., t. In this case we say that G admits an (H1, H2, . . ., Ht)-(edge) covering. An H-covering of graph G is an (H1, H2, . . ., Ht)-(edge) covering in which every subgraph Hi is isomorphic to a given graph H. Let G be a graph admitting H-covering. An edge k-labeling α : E(G) → {1, 2, . . ., k} is called an H-irregular edge k-labeling of the graph G if for every two different subgraphs H′ and H′′ isomorphic to H their weights wtα(H′) and wtα(H′″) are distinct. The weight of a subgraph H under an edge k-labeling is the sum of labels of edges belonging to H. The edge H-irregularity strength of a graph G, denoted by ehs(G, H), is the smallest integer k such that G has an H-irregular edge k-labeling. In this paper we determine the exact values of ehs(G, H) for prisms, antiprisms, triangular ladders, diagonal ladders, wheels and gear graphs. Moreover the subgraph H is isomorphic to only C4, C3 and K4.

Nowadays, non-integer systems are a widely researched problem. One of the questions that is of great importance, is the use of mathematical theory of a non-integer order system to the description of supercapacitors (capacitors with very high capacitance). In the description of electronic systems built on a microscale, there are models with distributed parameters of fractional derivatives, which can be successfully approximated by finite-dimensional structures, e.g, in the form of various types of ladder systems (chain). In this paper, we will analyze a ladder system of an RC type consisting of supercapacitors.

Opis:
The ladder track is a new type of an elastically supported vibration-reduction track system that has been applied to several urban railways. This paper is devoted to the investigation of dynamic behavior of a ladder track under an oscillating moving load. The track is represented by an infinite Timoshenko beam supported by a random elastic foundation. In this regard, equations of motion for the ladder track are developed in a moving frame of reference. In continuation, by employing perturbation theory and contour integration, the response of the ladder track is obtained analytically and its results are verified using the stochastic finite element method. Finally, using the verified model, a series of sensitivity analyses are accomplished on effecting parameters including velocity and load frequency.

Celem niniejszej pracy było porównanie wyników szacowania rezerw metodami tradycyjnymi: model Macka, modele GLM z szacowaniem zmienności metodą bootstrap oraz metody Bayesa MCMC. Analizy przeprowadzone zostały na danych jednej z dużych amerykańskich firm ubezpieczeniowych. Takie porównanie, może być jednym z głosów w dyskusji, w kontekście trwającego aktualnie procesu tworzenia standardów rachunkowości ubezpieczeniowej oraz systemów monitorujących adekwatność rezerw.
Building reserves for liabilities is an important issue in the financial statement o f a general insurance company. The purpose o f this paper is to present models for prediction IBNR (incurred but not reported) reserves. The modeling is based on data which describes the claims settlement o f a car insurance portfolio - the data consists o f about 60,000 claims, which incurred in 2001—2006. Several models o f the claims prediction are proposed, from estimation in traditional deterministic Chain Ladder and the Poisson GLM model (Kramer 1998) - commonly used techniques in practices - to Markov Chain Monte Carlo. The models presented show the significant differences in variance o f IBNR reserves. From that point o f view the Bayesian approach has some characteristics that make it particularly attractive for their use in actuarial practice.

In the paper, mathematical models of the supercapacitors are investigated. The models are based on electrical circuits in the form of RC ladder networks. The elementary cell of the network may consist of resistances and capacitances that are connected in series or parallel. The dynamic behavior of the circuit is described using fractional-order differential equations and its properties are analyzed. The identification procedure with quadratic performance index is performed in time domain to identify the parameters of the supercapacitor models. The results of numerical simulations are compared with the results measured experimentally in the physical system. In addition, an example from the automotive industry is used for an experimental evaluation of the theoretical analysis and to present a perspective on the applicability of the approach for other industrial projects.

In the paper, different structures of electric ladder networks are considered: RC, RL, and RLC. Such systems are composed of resistors, inductors and capacitors connected in series. The elements of the network are not identical and have nonlinear characteristics. The network's dynamic behavior can be mathematically described by nonlinear differential equations. A class of robust feedback controls is designed to stabilize the system. The asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed and proved by the use of Lyapunov functionals and LaSalle's invariance principle. The results of computer simulations are included to verify theoretical analysis and mathematical formulation.

Theoretical background: Design management is of paramount relevance in many modern organisations, increasingly also in those operating in Poland, remaining an independent approach to change management for the creation of new products and services, achieving better productivity and efficiency in a global and competitive environment. Until now, the basis of design management processes has been to understand the needs of the user or customer, their expectations and aspirations. This approach, like many management concepts, is now undergoing a transformation, driven by huge economic, social, political and environmental changes. The uncertainty of tomorrow, facing crises, wars, erupting pandemics are just some of the so-called Black Swans causing the need for management change in organisations. Nowadays, design management is experiencing a boom, which is primarily linked to a shift away from seeing it only on an operational level or as a marketing function to emphasising its strategic importance. In this situation, the concept of “just in time”, familiar from management by quality, should evolve into “just in case” in a much broader reference than that relating to the production, delivery or storage of raw materials and finished goods. The design management model presented in the article is an example of an activity that responds to the needs of companies precisely in conditions of variability, due to the fact that its essence is flexibility and the possibility of redesigning it by adding or subtracting specific constructs, appropriate to the just in case situation. Purpose of the article: This article aims to present how managerial conditions conducive to the implementation of design management activities can support companies in achieving organisational resilience in a world defined by the acronym “BANI”. Research methods: The research problem is to identify managerial determinants conducive to the implementation of design management activities through which companies can achieve organisational resilience. In order to obtain an answer to the research problem so posed, a literature review of design management approaches was conducted, with a presentation of the traditional Danish Design Ladder model and its updated version, adapted to the BANI concept. Based on the literature, the acronyms “VUCA” and “BANI”, used to describe current economic phenomena, were explained. The article then presents some of the results of a survey conducted in 2019–2020, in companies registered in Poland. Quantitative estimation using the CATI method (1,200 medium and large enterprises) and qualitative verification using PAPI and IDI techniques (58 large enterprises with a high level of project maturity and experience in implementing project management) were used. Main findings: The paper presents design management as a type of organisational activity important for achieving organisational resilience. The essence of design management, its two models and the management conditions necessary to implement this approach were described. The role of managers in implementing change in an organisation is characterised. The above considerations are based on a literature review and own research.

The objective of this project is to seek out best material and most fitted cross-section for an Eicher E2 Truck ladder chassis with the constraints of most shear stress, equivalent stress and deflection of the chassis under maximum load condition. In present the Ladder chassis that are uses for creating buses and trucks are C and that I cross section sort, that area unit product of Steel alloy (Austenitic). In Asian country variety of passengers travel within the bus isn't uniform, excess passengers area unit movement within the buses daily as a result of that there are unit forever prospects of being failure/fracture within the chassis/frame. So Chassis with high strength cross section is required to attenuate the failures together with issue of safety in design. Within the present work, we have taken higher strength because the main issue, that the dimensions of an existing vehicle chassis of an Eicher E2 (Model no.11.10) Truck is taken for analysis with materials specifically ASTM A710 Steel, ASTM A302 steel and metal Alloy 6063-T6 subjected to constant load. Vehicle chassis are modelled by considering two different cross-sections specifically C and Rectangular Box (Hollow) sort cross sections.

The paper presents a method of stabilisation of an LC ladder network with a delayed output feedback. A discussion of certain properties of tridiagonal matrices and formulation of the considered system in state space equations is included. Formal stability of the arising infinite dimensional system is described and stability conditions are formulated based on properties of characteristic quasipolynomial. The method of D-partitions is used to determine the stability regions in the controller parameter space. Paper includes examples for ladders of dimensions 1, 2 and 3 and a comparison with Padé approximation.

The “Jacob’s ladder” episode from the book of Genesis inspired numerous symbolic interpretations in ancient Christianity. Most often we encounter moral symbolism, which basically proceeds in two directions. Following Tertullian, “descending angels” symbolize sinners, and “ascending” – righteous people. According to Augustine, “descending” mean those who take care of the needs of others, while “ascending” are those who direct their hearts to God. For Jerome, ascending and descending angels symbolize not so much people as the mercy of God who descends to the sinner, whereas for Ambrose and Zeno of Verona the ladder represents the Old and New Testament, and its rungs – the Christian virtues. An important literary motif in the story of the “Jacob’s ladder” is the stone under the Patriarch’s head, which in the Christian tradition assumes a Christological meaning.

Algorithms of calculation of a state of an electric circuit with passive components are described. Algorithms are intended for usage in system of simulation of the mixed electronic devices. Each component of a circuit is presented by program model of high complexity. In this article the resistor model is described. Electric voltages in circuit nodes are calculated by method of summation of volt-ampere characteristics. Component models control iterations at calculation of circuit nodes voltage. Results of calculation of voltage in R-2R ladder of the digital-to-analog converter are presented.

Gynecological cancers, due to their location and relation to the aspects of femininity, reproductive ability and body image, are associated not only with the physical dimension of cancer, but also with the mental sphere. The loss of fertility may lead to feelings of sadness and grief that remain for a very long time after the treatment. In patients with gynecological cancers, the increased risk of early menopause, loss of femininity, decreased libido, or distorted body image can affect their quality of life. The distress emerging in this situation may further worsen the health condition and negatively affect the quality of life and ability to mobilize the organism to fight against the disease. For this reason, it is important to monitor the level of distress and quality of life using available questionnaires and measurement tools. Psychological interventions and psychotherapy can help women with gynecological cancers raise their self-esteem related e.g. to corporeality, improve the overall quality of life and reduce the psychological distress caused by the disease and the treatment itself.
