    This paper reviews the structure and formation of periderm and rhytidome in organs both of coniferous and broadleaves trees, in respect to their protective role. The periderm, which is composed of three tissues such as meristematic phellogen giving rise to suberized phellem at the outer side and phelloderm at the inner side. In older organs peridem is replaced with rhytidome composed of dead cells and included subsequent periderms separated by functioning phloem cells. Additionally, the structure and classification of lenticel as well as development of cork wings is described.

    W artykule przedstawiono problematykę wtłaczania wody w PGG S.A. Oddziału KWK ROW Ruch Rydułtowy, rejon E-E2, od rzędnej wysokościowej -962,5 m n.p.m., czyli od czoła wyrobiska będącego w postępie chodnika odstawczego E-E2 w pokładzie 712/1-2+713/1-2, do rzędnej wysokościowej -808,0 m n.p.m., czyli do otamowanych zrobów ściany II-E-E2 w pokładzie 712/1-2+713/1-2. Zalewanie rejonu E-E2 odbywało się samoczynnie wodą z dopływu naturalnego i poprzez wtłaczanie wody technologicznej. Całkowity słup wody wynosił 154,5 m wysokości, z czego 21,0 m słup wody oparty był o korek wodny posadowiony w przekopie pochyłym do pokładu 713/1-2. Spąg korka wodnego K-1 znajdował się na rzędnej wysokościowej -829,0,0 m n.p.m. Po procesie wtłaczania wody i parodniowym postoju układu, miało miejsce odprowadzenie nagromadzonej w tym rejonie wody. W początkowej fazie woda grawitacyjnie spływa od rzędnej wysokościowej -808,0,0 m n.p.m. do rzędnej wysokościowej -829,0,0 m n.p.m., a następnie od tej rzędnej odpompowywanie odbywało się na zasadzie przebudowy pomp w miarę obniżania się zwierciadła wody.
    The article presents the problems of water injection in PGG S.A. KWK ROW Department Ruch Rydułtowy, district E-E2, from the height elevation -962,5m above sea level, that is from the face of the excavation being in the rate of advance of the E-E2 transport drift in seam 712/1-2+713/1-2, up to the ordinate -808,0,0 m.above sea level, that is to the bloked cavity the longwall II-E-E2 in seam 712/1-2+713/1-2. The flooding of the E-E2 region was carried out automatically with water from the natural inflow and through the injection of technological water. The total water column was 154,5 m.height, 21,0 m.of which was based on a water stopper set in an inclined rock drift to the seam 713/1-2. The bottom of water stopper K-1 was on the elevation altitude -829,0,0 m.above sea level. After the process of water injection and a few days standstill of the system, in this region took place drainage of the accumulated water. In the initial phase, the water gravitationally flows down to the elevation altitude -829,0 m.above sea level, and then from this ordinate, as the water level was lower the pumping out the water took place on the basis of pump reconstruction.

    With the continuous urban expansion of cities around the world, cities have become more crowded as the numbers of all kinds of vehicles have increased, especially due to the inclination of individuals to use personal cars. In this study, we want to identify the different reasons that motivate the populations of the state of Skikda, Algeria, to prefer using cars through a questionnaire. In order to be clearer, we processed and analyzed the survey data using the SPSS analytical program. This article aims to identify the main reasons that motivate individuals to prefer using a personal car when traveling and propose possible solutions, or even identify actions to be taken now and in the future in order to establish a more sustainable exclusive transport. By analyzing the results, it became clear to us that road users prefer cars only for psychological and technical reasons and do not consider the preservation of the environment or the security of people. Although they are aware of the problems arising from their extensive use, they continue to do so because they have no other alternative. Improvements in public transportation means would change the situation.

    Stemming plugs are one of the widely used accessory in surface mining operations. Stemming plugs assist conventional stemming material in gas retention and help in better fragmentation and explosive utilization. Effective use of the stemming plugs results in economic benefits and enhance the efficacy of the project. Economic and productive viability of stemming plugs have been conducted in depth by different researchers. Addition of stemming plugs to a new system requires ergonomic challenges for operators conducting drilling and blasting operation. Induction of a newer product in already established system is subject to overall positive feedback. This work investigates ergonomics of three different stemming plugs introduced to a limestone quarry in Pakistan. The stemming plugs were evaluated based on extra time needed, workers feedback, failures during operation, recovery time after failure and number of extra equipment required to carry out the operation. Points based matrix was established with likeliness of each plug and based on overall scores stemming plug 1 was most acceptable followed by stemming plug 3. Stemming plug 2 was disliked by operation and did not reach the level of acceptability of operators. This work will help stemming plug making industry in adapting to best practices by incorporating ergonomics of plugs in designing. Literature shows no previous work on ergonomics of stemming plugs.

    W czasie udostępniania formacji produktywnej poprzez wiercenie następuje przenikanie cząstek ilastych z płuczki wiertniczej do przestrzeni porowej skały. Formacje produktywne są z reguły udostępniane przy ciśnieniach, które są znacząco wyższe niż ciśnienia złożowe. Wielkość przeciwciśnienia hydrostatycznego zależy od gęstości płuczki wiertniczej, wysokości słupa cieczy oraz ciśnienia złożowego. Klasycznym przykładem tego ostatniego jest problem badania zmian właściwości zbiornikowych na etapie wiercenia, kiedy to stosunkowo niewielkie cząstki ilaste przenikają, wraz z płuczką wiertniczą, do przestrzeni porowej. Spadek przepuszczalności w strefie dennej odwiertów naftowych prowadzi do znaczącego spadku wydajności produkcji ropy, a czasem nawet do całkowitego zatrzymania wydobycia, co ostatecznie znacząco wpływa na wielkość całkowitego wydobycia ropy oraz wskaźniki ekonomiczne udostępnienia złoża ropy. Spadek przepuszczalności może być spowodowany wieloma czynnikami: • kolmatacją strefy dennej w obrębie formacji produktywnej na etapie wiercenia otworu; • tworzeniem się warstwy osadu w perforowanych kanałach podczas skumulowanej perforacji; • kolmatacją strefy dennej formacji produktywnej w czasie eksploatacji odwiertu; • blokowaniem kanałów perforacyjnych w czasie zatłaczania odwiertu i później; • tworzeniem się osadów parafin i asfaltenów w porach skały w strefie dennej odwiertu. Uszkodzenie strefy dennej odwiertu znacząco wpływa na wydajność odwiertów oraz przepuszczalność formacji złożowej, określoną przez wyniki badań hydrodynamicznych. Uszkodzenie jest jednocześnie rozumiane jako zanieczyszczenie strefy dennej płuczką wiertniczą przy udostępnianiu formacji produktywnej, pogorszenie się właściwości w strefie dennej w czasie cementowania lub perforacji interwału złożowego, pęcznienie iłowców, itp. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia analizę badań laboratoryjnych i terenowych nad wpływem zjawiska kolmatacji na wydajność odwiertów przy udostępnianiu warstw o różnych właściwościach pojemnościowych i filtracyjnych, jak również analityczne oszacowanie tego efektu, zarówno dla odwiertów pionowych, jak i horyzontalnych.
    During the opening of a productive formation by drilling, penetration of clay particles from the drilling fluid into the leading filtration channels of the rock occurs. As a rule, productive formations are opened at pressures that are significantly higher than the formation pressure. The amount of hydrostatic repression depends on the density of the drilling fluid, the height of the liquid column, and the reservoir pressure. A classic example of the latter is the problem of studying changes in reservoir properties that occur at the drilling stage, where relatively small particles of drilling fluid penetrate along with the flow into the pore space. A decrease in the bottomhole zone permeability in oil wells leads to a significant decrease in oil production rates, and sometimes to their complete stop, which ultimately significantly affects the total oil recovery and economic indicators of the oil fields’ development. The decrease in permeability can be caused by many factors: • clogging of the bottomhole zone of the productive formation in the process of drilling a well; • formation of a crust in perforated channels during cumulative perforation; • colmatation of the bottomhole zone of the productive formation during the operation of the well; • clogging of perforated channels during well killing and subsequent clogging; • formation of deposits of paraffins and asphaltenes in the pores of the rock of the bottomhole zone of the well. Bottomhole zone damage (clogging) significantly affects the productivity of wells, and the permeability of the formation, determined by the results of hydrodynamic studies. At the same time, clogging is understood as damage of the bottomhole zone with drilling fluid when opening the productive formation, and deterioration of the properties of the bottomhole zone during cementing, perforation of the productive interval, swelling of clays, etc. This paper presents an analysis of laboratory and field studies of the influence of clogging on the productivity of wells when opening layers with different capacitive and filtration properties, and also provides an analytical estimation of this effect, both for vertical and horizontal wells.

    This is the second part of the article which covers the specific physical and mechanical properties of cork and its important industrial applications. Unique properties of cork resulting, to a large extent, from the features of its cellular structure, give rise to novel, high added-value applications of this material. Attention is also paid to the environmental advantages of using cork.

W Cz. I artykułu omówiono uprawy dębów korkowych oraz strukturę chemiczną ich kory, a także makro- i mikroskopową morfologię korka naturalnego.
    Cork is the bark of the cork oak tree cultivated mainly in Portugal and the Mediterranean region. As amaterial it has been used for more than 5000 years. Nowadays, it is used in multiple applications, from wine bottles to aeronautics and regarded as astrategic material for sustainable development in many countries. The first part of the presented review is focused on cultivation aspects of cork oak trees as well as morphology (at macro- and microscales) and chemical structure of suberin, the main constituent of cork. The honeycomb-like cork structure makes it one of the best natural, renewable, sustainable raw material, which is used all over the world.

    Industries related to the acquiring of building materials may soon face a shortage of natural resources and an associated increase in costs of their acquisition. Therefore, it is necessary to look for possible ways to reduce the exploitation of natural resources and instead use recycled raw materials. Such policies fit into one of the most important trends in modern construction, which is sustainable development. In the conducted research, the Taguchi method was utilized in order to investigate the impact of modifying cement mortars with rubber and cork waste on the selected properties of the obtained composites. Thanks to the above method, we managed to obtain the desired information about mortars in a shorter time and at a lower cost than using traditional testing methods. Using the selection in planning method, we confirmed that rubber waste can be a good substitute for sand in mortars.
