- The development of road and rail infrastructure is one of the priorities of EU transport policy. Transportation projects often result in conflicts with local communities. Conflicts make the implementation of projects expands and becomes more expensive. The same is true in the case of two transport projects Via Baltica and Rail Baltica. Already at the design stage, they led to a number of social conflicts in the ecological. Our aim is to show ways of resolving social conflicts and the possibility of applying them to solve problems concerning the implementation of transport projects. Proper preparation of the project on transport infrastructure should take into account not only its technical aspects but also social conditions. Preparatory activities, which may include public consultation, avoid protests and conflicts.
