Podlaskie and the Warmińsko-Mazurskie provinces - Opis:
- Recently, in our country a significant change in the perception of the role of universities and scientific units in the economic area has been observed. It is often being estimated that the strengthening of the cooperation between business sectors' and scientific units not only may improve economic development but also eliminate negative phenomenon in the employment market. The Podlaskie and The Warmińsko-Mazurskie Provinces are located in the eastern part of Poland and their poor development abilities result from their historical background and poor economic potential. Taking into consideration a certain degree of backward infrastructure, the abilities to keep up with other regions are significantly poorer. One of the most important factors shaping region's potential and influencing its future development is cooperation between the private sector and scientific units. The level of cooperation is still insufficient in comparison with other European countries, though there has been done a lot in this area. Satisfactory cooperation between these subjects may be the key element in creating the long-term regional competitive advantage. In this article, the author made the analysis of the initiatives connected with strenthening the cooperation between private units and scientific units of the the Podlaskie and the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Provinces.
