Opis:
Urolithiasis is a disease of the genitourinary system, which is defined as the presence of urinary stones at any place in the urinary tract, resulting from the precipitation reaction of chemical compounds. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the important role of selected environmental factors (climate, ambient temperature) and the type of profession performed in the development of urolithiasis. In this field, the literature including original and review papers related to the epidemiology, pathogenesis and risk factors of urolithiasis was analyzed. The study used electronic databases such as Medline, Web of Science and Google Scholar. The prevalence of urolithiasis has increased in recent decades in both developed and developing countries. It is believed that this growing trend is associated with lifestyle changes such as the lack of physical activity, poor eating habits and global warming. Many factors are responsible for the formation of urinary stones. In literature, there is a division into individual and environmental factors. Today, external factors in the form of climate changes (global warming), geographical conditions and seasonal fluctuations, and the type of profession performed are becoming more and more important in the context of the occurrence of urinary stones. Currently, the presence of urolithiasis is becoming a significant problem all over the world and searching for causes is not easy, but particular attention should be paid to certain predispositions resulting from environmental factors, such as ambient temperature and the type of work performed. Opis:
People live with one or more chronic diseases, medical and surgical treatments of which may affect their quality of life negatively. Thermobalancing therapy (TT) and Dr Allen’s therapeutic Devices (DATD) for the first time uses own body energy to treat chronic internal diseases. This invention received a US patent. Here we observe condition of people with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stone disease and chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) before and after use of TT and DATD. 10 years of empirical evidence has been studied in people with kidney disease, CP/CPPS and BPH. 2 clinical controlled trials on TT with DATD were conducted. The dynamics of clinical characteristics and parameters, such as pain, urinary symptoms and ultrasound prostate volume (PV), were compared with the no-treatment control groups. 124 men with BPH and 45 men with CP/CPPS used DATD for 6-month period, as mono-therapy, in clinical trials. The outcomes confirmed that TT with DATD reduced pain and PV in men with CP/CPPS and PV and urinary symptoms in men with BPH, while there were no positive changes in the control groups. 4 people with kidney stones, random from the 10-year follow-up, confirmed that after using DATD kidney stones were dissolved without side effects and complications. DATD is a class-1 medical device, which do not need an involvement of notified body, and it is easy use this device. Therefore, people with kidney stones, CP/CPPS and BPH should use DATD, as a tool for self-management in the first place.

Opis:
Introduction: Kidney stone is a major public health problem. Over 5% of the population is affected by kidney stones, with causes a lifetime risk of transmitting renal lithiasis of about 8 to 10%. Objective: The goal of our study is the attitude and awareness of lithiasis patients regarding the use of medicinal plants in eastern Morocco. Methods: We carried out a study on lithiasis patients to retrospectively identify medicinal plants used in this disease, using a pre-established questionnaire. The study was carried out from 10 December 2017 to 28 February 2018. Results: Our survey describes several medicinal plants used to treat renal lithiasis in eastern Morocco. Most patients used Herniaria hirsuta L., Zea mays L., Urtica dioica L., and Petroselinum crispum (Mill.) Fuss. This preliminary study showed that the first reason to use medicinal plants in half of lithiasis patients is to calm the pain and expel the stones. The primary source of plant use information is oral tradition. However 67% of lithiasis patients are unaware of the harmful and toxic effects that can appear. Conclusion: Medicinal plants must, like medicines, comply with strict requirements and standard rules of use to which only the specialist in herbal medicine can respond and sensitize people to the dangers of irrational consumption of medicinal plants.
