- This work presents results of calculations of diffusion coefficient and surface emission coefficient for wood of sub-alpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa) in the case of diffusion in the transverse direction to fibres. The results of moisture desorption in the samples of sub-alpine fir, presented in the article by Cai [1] and realized by slicing samples and weighing individual slices, were employed in the work. The values of moisture diffusion coefficients and mass surface emission coefficient were found using the method of minimizing the fitting function, assuming boundary conditions of the second and third kind with constant surface emission coefficient on the corresponding edges of samples. Moreover, two cases of variations of the moisture diffusion coefficient together with moisture content of the material were analysed each time: in the form of a constant and quadratic function. The obtained results were compared with the results presented in the paper [1].
