    W pracy skoncentrowano się na małych elektrowniach wodnych, ze względu na ich niewykorzystywany potencjał w Polsce. Przeważający nizinny charakter ukształtowania terenu nie sprzyja budowaniu elektrowni na rzekach, mimo to występują niewykorzystywane na potrzeby energetyki odcinki rzek, na których można zainstalować tzw. małe elektrownie wodne. Po to, aby zlokalizować optymalne miejsce pod budowę elektrowni, należy nie tylko brać pod uwagę aspekty ekonomiczne, ale również ekologiczne i społeczne. Praca poświęcona jest tematyce racjonalnego wyszukiwania lokalizacji pod ich budowę z wykorzystaniem systemów informacji geograficznej. Cel osiągnięto głównie poprzez przedstawienie kosztów inwestycyjnych (cena budowy MEW).
    The article says about small hydroelectric power plants due to their unused potential in Poland. The predominant lowland topography is not conducive to building a power plant on the rivers, but there are still unused rivers streches on which you can install small hydropower plants. To find the optimum location for the plants should not only consider economical aspects, but also environmental and social. This article is also about searching for a rational location of plants with the use of Geographic Information Systems. This was achieved primarily by the presentation of the investment costs (construction costs of their building).

    This article examines the firm-level and regional determinants of inward FDI into Polish firms in the framework of sectoral analysis. All Polish companies with foreign capital (21 895 firms) were divided into three basic groups: firms of manufacturing sector (11 064 firms); services (6718) and sales (4149). This investigation includes the period from 2003 to 2012 (10 years). The main aim of this article is to determine what factors (firm-level or regional) have more impact on FDI attraction and how their impact depends on a sector which a host firm operates in. The firm-level characteristics which were used in this analysis were total assets of a host firm; its productivity; firm size; R&D expenditure; level of high-skilled workers and age of a recipient firm. The regional determinants of inward FDI into Polish firms were: the economic potential of a region in which a firm operates; the road and rail road density of this region and the location of a firm: closer to EU or non-EU countries and closer to seaside or to the capital city – Warsaw.

    Research background: Preparation for retirement is a major concern for the people in the workforce as they have to encounter considerable difficulties in making the right investment decisions for their retirement. Purpose of the article: This research extends the literature on personal finance by investigating the impact of both financial literacy levels and pension knowledge on employees? investment choice decision for their retirement, while in previous literature the role of these factors has mainly been explored separately.  Methods: To conduct the research, a survey questionnaire was applied to collect data in three main regions of Vietnam comprising Northern, Central and Southern Vietnam. Data collection was made in 2018, in which 427 valid questionnaires were used for data analysis from 700 questionnaires. Two estimation methods are employed for analysis in this study, including a linear probability model (LPM) and two-stage least squares (2SLS) model. The findings of this research remain significant after the Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) regression model is used as an estimation technique to eliminate potential bias caused by endogenous problems. Finding & Value added: The results show that basic financial literacy level and pension knowledge are principal factors which significantly increase the probability of exercising retirement investment choice of employees, while advanced financial literacy level factor has a significant effect on choosing growth investing options for their retirement. Further, this research finds that there is no correlation between employees? financial risk tolerance and their retirement investment choice. Furthermore, the study proposes and offers new evidence that pension knowledge is a decisive factor providing employees with encouragement to exercise retirement investment choice and those who consult with financial advisors tend to take part in growth investing option.

    Jakość budownictwa zależy od bardzo wielu czynników: od stosowanych wyrobów budowlanych i technologii, od używanego sprzętu budowlanego, od kwalifikacji i sumienności pracowników, od organizacji procesu budowlanego i koordynacji robót branżowych, od jakości robót wykończeniowych, a także od utrzymania technicznego obiektów budowlanych i właściwego ich użytkowania. Tymczasem dominującym kryterium w budownictwie jest kryterium najniższej ceny, a cena, nawet rażąco niska nikogo nie zastanawia.
    Construction quality depends on very many factors, including the building materials and technologies used, the qualifications and conscientiousness of employees, the organization of the construction process and coordination of specialized works, the quality of finishing work, and also the technical maintenance and proper use of buildings. In practice, however, the dominant criterion in the construction sector is that of lowest price, and even a grossly low price will often be accepted without giving cause for concern.
