    Opis:
    The inversion method was used to test vibroacoustic processes in large-size machines used in opencast mines of rock material. When this method is used, the tested machine is replaced with a set of substitute sources, whose acoustic parameters are determined on the basis of sound pressure levels and phase shift angles of acoustic signals, measured with an array of 24 microphones. This article presents test results of a combine unit comprising a crusher and a vibrating sieve, for which an acoustic model of 7 substitute sources was developed with the inversion method.

    In this paper we examined the efficiency of one of the methods for numerical inversion of the Laplace transform: the Gaver-Stehfest method to find a solution to a one-dimensional gas flow model with axial dispersion. The algorithm was used to determine values of the axial dispersion coefficients DL and Pèclet numbers Pe on the basis of the pulse tracer technique. The obtained results of Pèclet numbers indicate that the gas flow is neither plug fl ow nor perfect mixing under operation condition. Numerical results are provided to confirm the efficiency of the presented method. Calculations were performed with the use of the CAS program type (Maple®).

    Otrzymywano polilaktydowe rusztowania o strukturze gąbczastej przeznaczone do hodowli komórek nabłonka walcowatego (średnica ~ 60 µm). Przeprowadzono badania wstępne i optymalizację procesu. Wyznaczono równanie regresji określające wpływ stosunku masowego porofor/polilaktyd, stężenia polilaktydu w 1,4-dioksanie oraz stosunku objętościowego MeOH/H2O w kąpieli żelującej na średnicę powstających porów. Opracowano warunki, w których w przełomie rusztowania otrzymuje się możliwie największe pory (o średnicy z zakresu 50–100 µm).
    A study on the preparation of polylactide scaffolds for columnar epithelium cells (size ~ 60 µm) were presented. Preliminary studies and optimization of the process were carried out. The regression equation describing the influence of pore precursor/polylactide weight ratio, concentration of polylactide in 1,4-dioxane and volume ratio of MeOH/H2O in the coagulation bath on the diameter of the pores has been established. The optimal conditions which yield the biggest pores in the range 50–100 µm in the cross-section were designed.

    Opis:
    A gradient method has been proposed as an effective procedure to reconstruct real parameters of tokamak plasma by means of multichannel polarimetric measurements. High efficiency of the suggested procedure is illustrated by numerical calculations performed for a given plasma model taking into account the poloidal component of magnetic field. Polarization state of electromagnetic wave traditionally is characterized by azimuthal – ψ and ellipticity – χ angles. Evolution of these parameters along the ray is described by the equations of angular variables technique (AVT) introduced in previous works of the present authors. Numerical simulations have approved that the gradient procedure provides acceptable accuracy of inversion already after several iterations.

    The recommended option for rehabilitation of operated combined insulated rolled roofs allows to reduce the cost of measures to ensure safe working conditions. The article proposes a construction solution similar to an inverted roof. In the proposed solution, the role of a vapor barrier is played by the repaired layers of the existing waterproofing layer to which the insulation board has been attached.

    This paper presents an analysis in terms of their accuracy of selected numerical methods for the inversion of the Laplace trans form. They were used to find solution of a gas flow model in real measuring system. The measurement unit, its application as well as its useful model were described in details in a work. We examined the Gaver-Stehfest method and the Honig and Hirdes method. The first one is based on combination of Gaver functionals. The second one is based on the Fourier series expansions. The results have confirmed the fact that the selected methods are suitable to solve analyzed problem, and showed that the algorithm developed by D. P. Gaver and H. Stehfest allows to obtain the best results of calculations. All calculations were using the computer algebra system Maple®. The presented algorithms have been implemented by the authors.

    Opis:
    The paper discusses the complex, agent-oriented hierarchic memetic strategy (HMS) dedicated to solving inverse parametric problems. The strategy goes beyond the idea of two-phase global optimization algorithms. The global search performed by a tree of dependent demes is dynamically alternated with local, steepest descent searches. The strategy offers exceptionally low computational costs, mainly because the direct solver accuracy (performed by the hp-adaptive finite element method) is dynamically adjusted for each inverse search step. The computational cost is further decreased by the strategy employed for solution inter-processing and fitness deterioration. The HMS efficiency is compared with the results of a standard evolutionary technique, as well as with the multi-start strategy on benchmarks that exhibit typical inverse problems’ difficulties. Finally, an HMS application to a real-life engineering problem leading to the identification of oil deposits by inverting magnetotelluric measurements is presented. The HMS applicability to the inversion of magnetotelluric data is also mathematically verified.
