Opis:
Currently, many countries are facing the issue of outmigration of highly skilled workers. Based on different strategies and policies, this paper proposes a regulatory framework for brain drain. In this article, we focus on the formats and support instruments through strategies and government policies, followed by their critical assessment. The methodology, based on the review of relevant literature, aims to reflect the academic discourse regarding the issue of brain drain and, particularly, the goal of return migration. Diverse strategies are presented, ranging from financial approach to technology parks, innovation hubs, and talent markets. Moreover, the problems caused by migration, such as brain waste, are investigated. The investigation is based predominantly on European strategies. Future research could precisely focus on the application of strategies adopted and tested by a different country where positive results have already been detected. This work could serve as a stepping stone for the investigation of this phenomenon, the subsequent analysis of strategies and future impact.

Opis:
Music therapy has been internationally recognized as a health-promoting profession since the end of World War II, and music therapists have been conducting research in neonatal intensive care since the 1990s. Music therapy professional training was established in Poland in 1973 at the Music Academy in Wrocław, and Polish music therapists have recently begun to seek specialization to work within neonatal intensive care. The commencement of the multi-site international randomized controlled trial LongSTEP, Longitudinal Study of music Therapy’s Effectiveness for Premature infants and their caregivers, has provided the impetus for Polish music therapists to begin offering music therapy services in neonatal intensive care. Thus, engagement in research marks the critical first step in the development of music therapy in neonatal care in Poland. This perspective article examines the current state of experimental research on music therapy in neonatal care and explores its implications for future research in Poland by (1) presenting the clinical aspects of prematurity; (2) summarizing experimental research on music therapy in neonatal intensive care; (3) identifying gaps in the related evidence base; (4) discussing recent developments in international music therapy research; (5) contextualizing music therapy in the Polish neonatal health care system; (6) presenting advanced training in neonatal music therapy, and (7) discussing how culturally relevant aspects of neonatal settings in Poland might impact future research. There is preliminary evidence that music therapy plays a beneficial role for preterm infants and their primary caregivers during the neonatal period; however, research examining long-term impacts and longer-term intervention is needed. Researchers in Poland are poised to make a significant contribution to the international evidence base related to music therapy in neonatal care, and further exploration of particular facets of the Polish neonatal health care system that will impact the delivery of music therapy is warranted.

Introduction. Number of patients with obliterating lesions of the aorta and main arteries of the lower extermities has been steadily increasing every year. When choosing the scope of surgical treatment all the features of the multilevel stenotic-occlusive process of the infrainguinal arterial bed should be taken into account. Purpose. To improve the results of revascularization of the infrainguinal arterial bed by applying surgical intervention on profound femoral artery and endovascular methods to restore permeability of the outflow arteries. Materials and methods. The work is based on the results of examination and surgical treatment of 264 patients with stenotic-occlusive process of the infrainguinal arterial bed. There were four groups of patients. The basis of revascularization interventions on the infranguinal artery was shunt surgery. Bypass surgery was performed using a reverse autovein. The combined shunt was used for localization of the distal anastomosis at the level of the popliteal, shin arteries, tibioperinel trunk. Results. In atherosclerotic stenotic-occlusive lesions of the infrainguinal arterial bed of the lower extremity, the volume of surgical treatment depends on the level of the occlusive process, the functional state of the PFA and the blood flow pathways. And the method of surgical intervention in shunt interventions is determined by the type of distal lesion and the level of imposition of distal and proximal anastomoses. Conclusion. The use of endovascular methods of revascularization and reconstructive interventions on PFA in combination with femoral-distal shunt operations contributes to good and satisfactory results of surgical treatment of stenotic-occlusive processes of the infrainguinal arterial bed.

The paper reviews the methods for improving verbal communication in selected variants of Alzheimer’s disease, both in the typical and language variant. It emphasises the need to optimise the management within the framework of patientcentred care, allowing to address individual needs. As far as indirect interventions are concerned, the article presents techniques aimed at improving communication with the affected person, and more broadly – aimed at preserving the quality of life in the course of the illness. Among direct interventions, those aimed at selected system abilities and supporting language function in the context of cognitive and social function are presented. It is shown how speech and language therapy can integrate other therapeutic paradigms, developed in psychology, such as patientcentred therapy and cognitive neuropsychological rehabilitation.

Prevalence of childhood obesity and health problems resulting from a lack of physical activity are in a position to increase in most developed countries. Scientific evidence of the relationship between physical activity levels and health problems resulting from inactivity not fully studied. Levels of physical activity for young people and teenagers are insufficient. There is little evidence of positive results in relation to interventions with children. In general, interventions achieved significant changes in physical activity levels of approximately 13% in moderate and vigorous physical activity. Most interventions are not significant in children although teenagers. In the case of children is effectively a direct influence over the type of physical activities that are proposed, with a high recreational component and multicomponent interventions course include families and supporting institutional campaigns. For adolescent interventions must also be multicomponent and focus on environmental intervention center to have some assurance of effectiveness.

A common knowledge shapes our perception of the world and forms our understanding of political phenomena. And almost everyone could agree with the argument that circumstances influence politics. The ebbs and flows in influence, power, prerogatives, performance, and activity of many political actors are an effect of changes in the world outside of them. But one may reasonably argue: what is the cause and what is the result? Is it really true the circumstances evidently, clearly have an effect on e.g. US presidential prerogatives? Or, quite contrary, is the actual, current politics as active as the presidents used their power? The article is about how the two worlds influence each other, what are the mutual connections between politics and political actors’ powers.

In 2005, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Badger Mining Corporation entered a partnership to implement ergonomics interventions, including a systematic process, to address exposure to risk factors that may result in musculoskeletal disorders or other types of injuries/illnesses. As a result of this partnership, an ergonomics process was integrated with the existing safety and health programme to promote an on-going application of ergonomics principles, and over 40 task-specific interventions were implemented during the first year of the process. This paper presents details of the process integration, and several examples of task-specific interventions that reduced exposure to risk factors.

Introduction and aim. Healthcare professionals including prescribers, pharmacists and nurses must have adequate knowledge of drug-drug interactions because they can cause toxicity, loss of efficacy, and side effects. This study was aimed to assess the respective roles of healthcare professionals in preventing drug-drug interactions by clinical interventions. Material and methods. This study was conducted at a Secondary Care Hospital of Pakistan in which total 1000 prescriptions were assessed for drug-drug interactions. Questionnaires and descriptive statistics were tools to assess the satisfaction of prescribers with pharmacists and their own prescribed medications before and after the clinical interventions. Modifications in medication therapies were done accordingly after the evaluation and acceptance of interventions. Results. The p-value was highly significant (p<0.05) which showed that the collaboration between healthcare professionals is necessary to avoid drug-drug interaction by clinical interventions. Acceptance rate of interventions was 77%. Clinical interventions are a useful tool in minimizing and preventing drug-drug interactions. The compliance of prescribers with their own prescribed medication regimens increased after clinical interventions. Conclusion. Prescribers, pharmacists and nurses have their respective roles in preventing drug-drug interactions and they must review the appropriateness of every medication order for clinical interventions.

Opis:
Mentalization is a multifaceted cognitive activity that enables individuals to interpret the behaviors of others (and their own) in terms of intentional mental states. A person who engages in mentalization is aware that human behavior stems from one's mental state. The capacity for mentalization begins to develop in childhood, primarily through secure relationships with caregivers, but it can be cultivated throughout life, including through functioning in a mentalizing environment, such as a school. This article aims to address the question of whether developing the ability to mentalize can support the functioning of students, parents, and teachers in the school environment. Findings from previous research and interventions conducted in various parts of the world not only provide an affirmative answer to this question but also identify the characteristics of a mentalizing school that caters to the need for future-oriented education.

Background: At present, the increasing frequency of hypergonadotropic ovarian insufficiency in women of late reproductive periods is associated with various problems, which requires the development of new criteria and an integrated approach to solving these problems. Aim of the study: To investigate the causes, clinical manifestations and diagnostic criteria of hypergonadotropic ovarian insufficiency in women of late reproductive age. Material and methods: We examined 42 patients with clinical and laboratory criteria for hypergonadotropic ovarian failure. The causes and clinical manifestations of hypergonadotropism, as related to ovarian failure, in women of late reproductive age were revealed through this analysis. Results: Women aged 36–42 years that have had previous surgery on pelvic organs often undergo changes typical of hypergonadotropism. Certain clinical indicators such as lability of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels and other direct and indirect signs of decreased ovarian reserves allow practitioners to prescribe appropriate therapy on time. Timely diagnosis and an individualized approach can help prevent symptoms of hypoestrogenia and related complications. The results of this study show that early detection of a luteal out-of-phase (LOOP) event, along with a more detailed history was diagnosed in 16 (38.1%) of cases. Early detection allows more timely changes in diagnosis, may noted signs that can reflect both the normal state and pathology. Conclusions: Levels of Anti-Müllerian hormone, basal levels of FSH in two successive cycles, early detection of an LOOP-event and the use of ultrasound are significant factors that can help in the assessment of ovarian reserves.

The economists believe that interventions (regulations) by the state are necessary to come to market equilibriums. The discussion among economists led to a dispute about market or state respectively competition or cooperation. One pike of the discussion led in German transport theory and policy to the slogan “cooperation instead of competition”. This slogan was used in the area of transport minister Leber (1966–1972) and the famous Leber-Plan.[...]

The abundance of pharmacological interventions to treat substance abuse disorder has solidified globally. Despite promising effects, use of pharmacological interventions in substance abuse disorder are limited in asian territories. This study aimed to identify and explore existing effective pharmacological interventions on abstinence of substance abuse disorder. A systematic review was conducted adhering to PRISMA guidelines. Google scholar, Pubmed, Hinari, and Cochrane databases were systematically searched and the topic and abstract of the articles were screened for eligibility. Articles of empirical studies on pharmacological interventions on abstinence of substance abuse disorder, which were published in peer-reviewed journals during 2010 to 2020, written in English, were included and articles on alcohol and smoking cessation were excluded from the review. Full papers were then assessed against eligibility criteria. Quality appraisal and data extraction of the selected articles were performed by two independent reviewers and discrepancies were discussed with another independent reviewer to reach consensus. Three hundred and seven research articles were identified through a comprehensive database search. After screening the topics and abstracts of the articles and assessing the relevant full texts for eligibility, 26 articles of the empirical studies were included in the systematic review. High doses of Buprenorphine, Methadone, Lofexidine, Naltrexone, SB-334867, Prazosin, and Baclofen were identified to be significantly effective in abstinence from substance abuse. It was concluded that empirical evidence of effective pharmacological interventions exists and its combination with existing non-pharmacological rehabilitation interventions are proposed as more effective in the treatment of substance abuse

The article is an extensive review of Joseph North’s book Literary Criticism: A Concise Political History. The author divides the 20th and 21st century literary studies into two orientations: critics and researchers, showing that the domination of the research perspective from the 80s led to a paradoxical depoliticization of criticism and deprivation of its intervention potential. To restore the critical potential, North postulates a return to materialistic aesthetics under the sign of I.A. Richards, which allows him to cross the research horizon in a gesture of intervention into a common reality, justified by a specific aesthetic experience.
