This exploratory study reports on the results of a survey on the tertiary language lecturers’ preferences regarding the access of EFL listening materials by Internet resources. A total of 80 EFL lecturers participated in the study. The data were gathered using an online survey that included short-answer questions. Moreover, semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with 10 participants. The study demonstrated that the participants used the Internet mainly for preparing extra materials for their learners so that they could also practice listening outside the classroom. The materials selected were mainly educational videos on a variety of topics, which were spoken by EFL speakers representing different native languages. The participants used these materials outside the class to support their autonomous L2 learning.

Cel: Rodzina nieuleczalnie chorego dziecka może korzystać ze wsparcia różnych instytucji i organizacji społecznych. W ofercie pomocowej znajduje się również wsparcie proponowane przez hospicja dla dzieci. Działania hospicjum są ukierunkowane na zapewnienie optymalnej jakości życia chorego dziecka, a także wsparcie jego bliskich. Ważnym źródłem informacji na temat tej działalności są strony internetowe prowadzone przez hospicja. Rodzice poszukujący wsparcia mogą z nich korzystać, czerpiąc z nich niezbędną wiedzę. Celem podjętych badań jest pokazanie, jaką pomoc i w jaki sposób hospicja oferują wsparcie dla chorych dzieci i ich rodzin. Metody: Dla osiągniecia tego celu dokonano jakościowej analizy danych zawartych na stronach internetowych wybranych 31 hospicjów dla dzieci w Polsce. Wyniki: Analiza stron internetowych hospicjów pokazała, że proponowana przez nie opieka w pełni spełnia standardy opieki paliatywnej. Zakres świadczonej pomocy wychodzi naprzeciw potrzebom chorych dzieci, podnosząc jakość ich życia, a także ich rodzinom. Sposób przedstawiania treści na stronach hospicyjnych jest specyficzny dla każdej witryny, co świadczy o różnorodności podejść. Niekiedy skłania do refleksji na temat różnorodnych uwarunkowań wsparcia społecznego. Wnioski: Treści zawarte w witrynach są rzetelną odpowiedzią na potrzebę uzyskania prostych i rzeczowych informacji, na podstawie których rodzice chorego dziecka mogą podejmować ważne decyzje.
Aim: The family of a sick child may use support offered by various institutions and social organisations. One of the forms of boosting an ill child’s family is support offered by children’s hospices. Their aim is to ensure the optimal quality of the child’s life and help other family members. Hospice websites are an important source of information for parents who would like to receive support. The aim of the research was to present what kind of support is offered to ill children and their families. Methods: The research was conducted with the use of qualitative analysis of data available on websites of 31 children’s hospices in Poland. Results: The analysis of websites showed that support offered by the institutions meets palliative care standards. This kind of support satisfies ill children’s needs, improves the quality of their life and boosts other family members. The way of presenting information is specific to each website, which emphasises the variety of approaches. It sometimes raises questions about the determinants of social support. Conclusions: Resources available on hospice websites meet the need to receive simple and useful information which helps parents make important decisions.

Celem artykułu jest porównanie zakresu korzystania z usług i zasobów internetowych przez mieszkańców powiatów województwa podkarpackiego. Za pomocą statystyki I Morana sprawdzono, czy występuje autokorelacja przestrzenna wartości trzynastu wskaźników cząstkowych. Typologię powiatów określono na podstawie syntetycznego miernika wyznaczonego metodą TOPSIS. Ponadto w celu dokładniejszego przedstawienia podobieństw i różnic występujących między powiatami zastosowano analizę skupień „cluster ensemble”.
The aim of this paper is to compare the utilization of Internet resources and services by citizens of poviats in the Podkarpackie voivodeship. The Moran's I statistic was used to examine the spatial autocorrelation between values of 13 core indicators at neighbouring poviats. To obtain groups of similar poviats, values of composite measure were calculated according to the TOPSIS method. In addition, cluster analysis „cluster ensemble” was applied to present the similarities and differences between the poviats.

Internet resources constitute the basic and most often used source of knowledge. The article deals with the problem of finding new means of spiritual education of high school students. An attempt was made to prove that Internet resources can be involved in the educational process, not only as educational supply, but also as a means of spiritual education. It is noted that students should be formed with interest to Internet resources that contain information capable of enriching the spiritual world of the individual. The leading role in the mentioned process is given to the tutor of a student group. Among the Internet resources that have a significant educational influence, what should be pointed out are digital libraries, virtual museums, and Internet versions of educational channels, social networks, and websites of educational institutions. The author emphasizes that the effectiveness of the use of Internet resources as a means of spiritual education of students is possible in the case of compliance with a number of educational conditions.

Remote Education in the Foreign Language Preschool Education — Practical Approach Even though the children’ motivation to learn and cooperate with others is undeniably high, this tendency can still be disturbed by numerous aspects depended on the teacher, such as the classroom management, the selection of teaching aids or methods. This task become even more demanding with the necessity of remote education of preschool children. The aim of this article is to present the practical approach of the remote education in the foreign language preschool teaching process. First, the role of language teaching among the preschool children will be described. The aspects such as special needs and abilities will be emphasized. Secondly, the methods and difficulties of remote language teaching in kindergarten will be presented. Finally, the description of the practical approach will be divided into synchronous and asynchronous solutions, containing some examples of exercises.

Seven interviews with high school students were conducted in order to establish the relationship between their use of Internet resources and the level of their interpretation, communication and social skills. Respondents, who used the Internet as a source of information, comprehend literature factographically and its adaptations as distortions of the original texts. Their communication skills were poorly developed. They were passive in interpersonal contact. They made only superficial contact with the interviewer, in order to hide the way they really used Internet resources. They perceived the interview as a hierarchical relation, and were subordinated to the interviewer. Students who posted texts on the Internet were able to get the interviewer engaged in the topic they were discussing. They created their own image and influenced the environment. They assumed role of a node in the network, limiting the influence of social hierarchy. A small sample does not allow for generalization of findings. Nonetheless, it was found that students who posted texts on the Internet presented highly developed interpretation, communication and social skills.
Przeprowadzono siedem wywiadów z licealistami, aby analizować związek sposobu użytkowania zasobów Sieci oraz kompetencji interpretacyjnych, komunikacyjnych i społecznych. Respondenci, wykorzystujący Sieć jako źródło informacji, pojmowali literaturę faktograficznie, adaptacje jako zniekształcenie fabuł. Cechował ich niski poziom umiejętności komunikacyjnych. Byli w kontakcie bierni. Nawiązywali pozorny kontakt ukrywając rzeczywisty sposób korzystania z Sieci. Najczęściej mieli niskie kompetencje społeczne. Relację wywiadu postrzegali jako hierarchiczną, czuli się podporządkowani. Uczniowie, którzy zamieszczali w Sieci teksty, umieli zainteresować poruszonym przez siebie tematem. Kreowali wizerunek siebie i otoczenia. Przyjmowali rolę węzła w społeczeństwie Sieci, ograniczając zależności społecznej hierarchii. Mała liczba badanych nie upoważnia do wniosków, lecz zamieszczanie tekstów w Sieci korelowało z wysokim poziomem kompetencji interpretacyjnych, komunikacyjnych i społecznych.

Стаття присвячена проблемі збирання й систематизації матеріалів про діячів українського шістдесятництва, інтеграції розрізнених документів і напрацювань учених до бази біографічних матеріалів. Увага зосереджується на інструментарії просопографічного дослідження, що пропонується для створення колективного портрета шістдесятників. У статті здійснена спроба визначити окремі термінологічні поняття на позначення явищ, дій і статусу осіб руху шістдесятництва 1960–1970-х років, а також аналіз комплексу документів і матеріалів, що знаходяться у відкритому доступі в інформаційному просторі України, та їхньої спроможності в забезпеченні повновартісного збору інформації для формування бази даних з метою створення колективної біографії представників руху шістдесятництва 60–70-х років ХХ століття.
Artykuł został poświęcony problematyce gromadzenia i systematyzowania materiałów dotyczących postaciach ukraińskich „szistdesiatnyków”, integrowania rozproszonych dokumentów i włączania prac badaczy do bazy materiałów biograficznych. Zwrócono uwagę na narzędzia badań prozopograficznych, które proponuje się dla stworzenia zbiorowego portretu „szistdesiatnyków”. W artykule podjęto próbę zdefiniowania odrębnych pojęć terminologicznych na oznaczenie zjawisk, działań i statusu osób ruchu lat 60. i 70. XX wieku, a także dokonano analizy zbioru dokumentów i materiałów, które są publicznie dostępne w przestrzeni informacyjnej Ukrainy oraz ich zdolności do budowy pełnego zbioru informacji w celu stworzenia bazy danych z myślą o edycji zbiorowej biografii przedstawicieli ww. ruchu lat 60. i 70. XX wieku.
The article deals with the problem of collecting and systematizing materials about the figures of the Ukrainian literary movement of the 1960s, integrating scattered documents and scientists’ works of into the base of biographical materials. Attention is focused on the tools of prosopographical research, which is proposed for creation of a collective portrait of the writers of the 1960s. In the article an attempt has been made to define separate terminological concepts for the designation of phenomena, actions and status of persons of the literary movement of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as an analysis of the set of documents and materials that are publicly available in the information space of Ukraine and their ability to provide a full-fledged collection information for the formation of a database with the aim of creating a collective biography of the representatives of the literary movement of the 60s and 70s of the 20th century.

This paper constitutes an attempt to present the phenomenon of the changing paradigm of the functioning of culture in the society. In the era of digitalisation of reality and the creation of culture in cyberspace, there arises the need to transfer cultural heritage to the web. Researchers and artists are increasingly using the resources available on the Internet. Art exhibitions, scientific conferences, works and publications begin to take a digital form. This phenomenon has become an inspiration for the authors to conduct their own research and to get to know the opinion of the academic community on this subject. The first part of this paper presents the most important aspects regarding the perception of culture in the traditional way and explains what e-culture is, referring primarily to the needs of the society. The second part of this publication is devoted to the presentation of the results of the pilot research, which was carried out in the Wrocław academic environment. The authors analyse the obtained results of the research and draw their conclusions.

This article presents the content of CIOP-PIB’s most important websites, which disseminate practical knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH) and make implementing it in Polish enterprises easier. Over the course of several years, web cartography which changed the way of presentation and exchange of information gained new sense. Techniques development and  availability of geoinformation tools in connection with net data transfer new quality enabled to create maps accessible in real time according to user’s preference. The aim of the paper is to characterize and evaluate technique of parameterization for net resource URL address (Uniform Resource Locator). Examples of maps presented in a browser’s window according to set parameters defined in accordance with rules in force in the range of API programistic interfaces of chosen map services were presented in the paper. Maps developed by URL link parameterization technique were put to functional tests. Moreover, efficiency and utility tests were performed. Performed tests show that creating maps with help of discussed technique needs knowledge and expert abilities which may cause difficulties to less advanced users and its use allows to evoke maps in the browser’s window but in the limited range.

Opis:
The article deals with the modern approaches to the use of information and communication technologies in the educational process, extracurricular activities and management at the regional level in order to enhance the creative potential of students, teachers and administrators. The article has described the conceptual bases of creating an information-educational environment of the region as a platform for information and achievement exchange between educators and the administration of the region. It specifies the technology of implementing the content and tech- nology component of the information-educational environment of the region and its main functional components. We suggest the implementation model of the effective management of educational institutions in the form of a unified system for collecting, processing and storing valid statistical and operational information on the activities of pre-school, comprehensive educational institutions and territorial units of education management (in districts and cities). The article has described the integrated tools and technologies that are designed to ensure the educational needs of both students and teachers. We also suggest the model of a single control center for the information-educational environment of the region that organizes support for its exploitation and development.

Opis:
Podczas gdy komunikacja staje się coraz łatwiejsza dzięki rozprzestrzenianiu się technologii komunikacji przez Internet (ICT), coraz więcej firm i osób staje przed wyzwaniem (współ)tworzenia i zwiększania efektywności wirtualnych zespołów. Chodzi tutaj o grupy ludzi kontaktujące się między sobą wyłącznie przez Internet, bez kontaktów w realnym świecie. Pomimo licznych zalet, do których należą między innymi niskie lub wręcz zerowe koszty finansowe oraz niezwykła elastyczność tworzenia, przed wirtualnymi zespołami istnieje też wiele wyzwań, nie widocznych z zewnątrz. W bieżącym artykule omawiamy zalety programu zajęć, zaprojektowanego do wzmacniania umiejętności komunikacji w wirtualnych zespołach. Opisujemy projekt dydaktyczny zrealizowany jednocześnie pomiędzy Uniwersytetem Palackiego (Olomouc, CZ) i Uniwersytetem Opolskim (Opole, PL) w semestrze letnim w roku 2015. Argumentujemy, iż taki program może przynieść korzyści zarówno z perspektyw jednostkowej, jak i biznesowej, pod warunkiem podjęcia odpowiednich przygotowań.
As communication becomes easier with the proliferation of ICT (Internet Communication Technology), more companies and individuals face the need and challenge of creating and facilitating virtual teams. Those are groups of people that contact each other only by the means of the internet, with no real-world physical face-to-face contact. Despite the numerous benefits, as low-to-non monetary costs and enormous creation flexibility, there are also many (psychological) risks, often not apparent from the outside. In the current paper we discuss the teaching program that was designed to foster virtual communication skills. We describe a project conducted simultaneously between Palacký University (Olomouc, CZ) and University of Opole (Opole, PL) in the summer term of 2015. We argue that such classes have a potential for individual and business development, provided the necessary preparations are made.
