    The main aim of the article is to present selected international education programmes implemented in Poland (International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in the context of educational change. The background of the analyses is the metamorphoses in the Polish education system after the period of political transformation. Literature in the field of education policy, theory of educational systems, normative documents of educational law, European Union directives and programme documents of international organizations conducting and accrediting IB, AP, and IGCSE programmes were used for the research. The author argues that the educational change that took place after 1989 in the organization and structure of the education system made it possible to implement international education programmes and contributed to the democratization and socialization of the Polish education system. Currently, international education programmes constitute an attractive educational offer that provides a chance for continuing education at renowned foreign universities, makes it possible to efficiently find oneself on the global labour market, and also prepares young people to be active members of civil society, guided by such values of political and social life as respect for human rights, democracy, solidarity, freedom of speech, and tolerance.

    Opis:
    The purpose of the study is to identify teachers’ opinions on their learning opportunities in schools implementing the following international programmes in Poland: International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The study was conducted using the diagnostic survey method on a group of 103 teachers. The theoretical basis was Wenger’s (1998) model of learning in communities of practice, which assumes that adult learning (in this case, teachers) can be analyzed in four areas: (1) Belonging, (2) Doing, (3) Becoming, and (4) Experiencing. Therefore, the socio-cultural situation of teachers and their common but specific educational practices conditioned by the specificity of international schools were adopted. The results show that teachers do not feel fully prepared to work after graduation, they use the knowledge and skills acquired in the workplace more often than that acquired during studies, and international programmes create favourable conditions for their learning and professional development. Teachers form a learning community at three levels: school, national, and international. Thus, they form a type of community of communities that Wenger calls a ‘constellation’.
    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie opinii nauczycieli na temat ich możliwości uczenia się w szkołach realizujących w Polsce następujące międzynarodowe programy kształcenia: International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP) oraz International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Badanie zostało przeprowadzone metodą sondażu diagnostycznego na grupie 103 nauczycieli. Podstawą teoretyczną był model uczenia się we wspólnocie praktyków Wengera (1998), który zakłada, że uczenie się dorosłych (w tym przypadku nauczycieli) może być analizowane w czterech obszarach: (1) przynależność, (2) działanie, (3) stawanie się i (4) doświadczanie. Przyjęto więc społeczno-kulturowe usytuowanie nauczycieli oraz ich wspólne, ale swoiste praktyki edukacyjne uwarunkowane specyfiką szkół międzynarodowych. Wyniki wskazują, że nauczyciele nie czują się w pełni przygotowani do pracy po ukończeniu studiów, częściej korzystają z wiedzy i umiejętności zdobytych w miejscu pracy niż na studiach, a programy międzynarodowe stwarzają im raczej dogodne warunki do uczenia się i rozwoju zawodowego. Nauczyciele tworzą społeczność uczącą się na trzech poziomach: szkolnym, krajowym i międzynarodowym. Jest to więc rodzaj wspólnoty wspólnot, którą Wenger nazywa „konstelacją”.

    Artykuł podejmuje problematykę programu matury międzynarodowej i jego obecności w polskich szkołach. W artykule zaprezentowano autorskie badania, w których wykorzystano  dane publikowane przez International Baccalaureate Organization. Zebrane dane pozwoliły na prześledzenie zasięgu oraz dostępności programów matury międzynarodowej zarówno pod względem kryterium finansowego, jak i rozmieszczenia szkół realizujących program IB DP. Dane o rosnącej liczbie szkół przystępujących do realizowania programów IB DP oraz zwiększającej się liczby uczniów przystępujących do matury międzynarodowej pozwoliły wyciągnąć wnioski na temat wzrastającej dostępności oferty edukacyjnej związanej z międzynarodowymi programami edukacyjnymi, a zwłaszcza programem matury międzynarodowej w Polsce.
    This paper presents the issues of the international baccalaureate program and its presence in Polish schools. The article presents original research using data published by the International Baccalaureate Organization. The research was focused on tracing the range and availability of international baccalaureate programs,both in terms of financial criteria and the distribution of schools implementing the IB DP program in Poland. The collected data showed the growing number of schools joining the IB DP program and the increasing number of students enrolling in the international baccalaureate program. This observation allowed us to draw conclusions about the increasing availability of the educational offer related to international educational programs, especially the international baccalaureate program in Poland.

    The article analyses short-term student mobility. In the context of internationalisation of higher education and the development of the global market of educational services universities develop and implement short-term programmes of student mobility in order to recruit international students. These programmes are less restricted than full time programmes, which allows them to meet the needs and expectations of students. International experience gained as a result gives them the opportunity to choose their path in postgraduate education in institutions abroad. A questionnaire survey of the Chinese students participating in the short-term student mobility programmes (n=31) is reported. In addition, a number of interviews with the staffwhose work is connected with teaching overseas students (n=5) was conducted in 2019. The findings of this research may demonstrate that Chinese students intend to become familiar with an additional set of common cultural competences. In other words, their interest in Russia, its history, culture, traditions and customs is becoming a strong motivation in choosing a university and a short-term educational programme. It could be the case that low language proficiency, bureaucracy, (namely, difficulties in acquiring the necessary paperwork and being accommodated in a hall of residence) become hurdles on the way to completing such a programme successfully. While developing programmes, host universities should be guided by common cultural competences in order to promote further development of short-term student mobility.
