Opis:
In a smart city environment, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) enables the vehicle to generate and communicate messages for safety applications. There exists a challenge where the integrity of the message needs to be verified before passing it on to other vehicles. There should be a provision to motivate the honest vehicles who are reporting the true event messages. To achieve this, traffic regulations and event detections can be linked with blockchain technology. Any vehicle violating traffic rules will be issued with a penalty by executing the smart contract. In case any accident occurs, the vehicle nearby to the spot can immediately send the event message to Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). It will check for its credibility and proceed with rewards. The authenticity of the vehicle inside the smart city area is verified by registering itself with UAVs deployed near the city entrance. This is enabled to reduce the participation of unauthorized vehicles inside the city zone. The Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA256) and Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA-192) are used for communication. The result of computation time for certificate generation and vehicles involvement rate is presented.

Opis:
This article contains results of studies on the applicability of data from Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for the purposes of geographical studies regarding the spatial mobility of inhabitants within a big city. The article focuses on the option of applying two types of sub-systems – induction loops and automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) – and includes examples of analyses based on the resulting data, which can serve as a basis for mobility studies. The area on the example of which the capabilities of application of ITS data have been presented is Lodz – a large city in central Poland. The conducted research shows that ITS systems offer an enormous potential in providing data for spatial mobility studies. In order to fully exploit its worth, however, it is imperative to expand the research procedure by including, for instance, the results of qualitative research. Also, the interpretation of results obtained on the basis of ITS data ought to be performed with an awareness of numerous significant preliminary and simplifying assumptions.

Opis:
We present vehicle detection classification using the Convolution Neural Network (CNN) of the deep learning approach. The automatic vehicle classification for traffic surveillance video systems is challenging for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) to build a smart city. In this article, three different vehicles: bike, car and truck classification are considered for around 3,000 bikes, 6,000 cars, and 2,000 images of trucks. CNN can automatically absorb and extract different vehicle dataset’s different features without a manual selection of features. The accuracy of CNN is measured in terms of the confidence values of the detected object. The highest confidence value is about 0.99 in the case of the bike category vehicle classification. The automatic vehicle classification supports building an electronic toll collection system and identifying emergency vehicles in the traffic.

Opis:
An Intelligent Transportation System is a modern solution which aims to improve the functioning of transport by, among other things: reducing congestion, shortening travel time, or improving road safety. This solution is used in many cities around the world, bringing economic effects and improving the comfort of life of the inhabitants. In Poland, as a result of the European Union’s promotion of the de- velopment of intelligent transport systems through their co-financing, many cities have introduced such solutions. In the article, against the background of theoretical considerations, the impact of intelligent transport systems on road safety in the years 2014–2018 was analysed on the example of selected cities.

Opis:
The lack of attention during the driving task is considered as a major risk factor for fatal road accidents around the world. Despite the ever-growing trend for autonomous driving which promises to bring greater road-safety benefits, the fact is today’s vehicles still only feature partial and conditional automation, demanding frequent driver action. Moreover, the monotony of such a scenario may induce fatigue or distraction, reducing driver awareness and impairing the regain of the vehicle’s control. To address this challenge, we introduce a non-intrusive system to monitor the driver in terms of fatigue, distraction, and activity. The proposed system explores state-of-the-art sensors, as well as machine learning algorithms for data extraction and modeling. In the domain of fatigue supervision, we propose a feature set that considers the vehicle’s automation level. In terms of distraction assessment, the contributions concern (i) a holistic system that covers the full range of driver distraction types and (ii) a monitoring unit that predicts the driver activity causing the faulty behavior. By comparing the performance of Support Vector Machines against Decision Trees, conducted experiments indicated that our system can predict the driver’s state with an accuracy ranging from 89% to 93%.

The paper deals with the problem of works transport organization in logistic center with the use of artificial intelligence algorithms. The presented approach is based on non-changeable path during travel along a given loop. The ordered set of containers requesting transport service was determined by fuzzy logic, while the sequence of containers in a loop was optimized by genetic algorithms. A solution for semi-autonomous transport vehicles wherein the control system informs the driver about optimal route was presented. The obtained solution was verified by a computer simulation.
Artykuł dotyczy problematyki sterowania transportem wewnątrzzakładowym w zautomatyzowanych centrach logistycznych z zastosowaniem metod sztucznej inteligencji. Zaprezentowane podejście zakłada predykcję niezmiennej trasy przejazdu środka transportu. Kolejność zbioru regałów wymagających obsługi transportowej jest determinowana przez logikę rozmytą, natomiast do optymalizacja trasy przejazdu wykorzystano algorytmy genetyczne. Zaprezentowano koncepcję środka transportu, w którym system sterowania informuje kierowcę dokąd ma jechać. Uzyskane rozwiązanie zostało zweryfikowane z wykorzystaniem metod symulacji komputerowej.

Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are evolving in response to a range of factors, which are discussed in this paper in conjunction with major directions of future ITS development. The technology of cooperation between the various elements of infrastructure and vehicles will determine further evolution of telematic solutions, leading to synergies arising from both existing and new applications, as well as from the advent of the Internet of things in transportation. The next step in the development of such systems is Cooperative ITS. It already has a solid foundation in the European Union’s strategic documents on transportation, and the first implementations are under way.

The result expansive development in urban and suburban areas have put in a difficult situation in terms of sustainable development, where pollution, traffic congestion and accidents, the strong negative external impact on the economy and health of citizens. All these problems are encouraged to develop new global strategies for sustainable urban transport. The strategies relate only a wide range of mitigation measures, but also use innovative technologies and infrastructures. The concept of an efficient, effective and safe transport prevails today in the new transport policy. Among the innovative technologies and infrastructures, it should be noted that the use of telematics systems for transport provides for several measures to enable the route and means of transportation that help reduce the time and route of travel, while searching for the increase traffic volume, a better level of service roads, and the rationalization of consumption and emissions, as well as inspection services and information in real time. The introduction of these systems should lead to the development of research population movement and settlement, with improved popular routes, in order to optimize the introduction of TST (Transport System Telematics).

The article presents an example of a dynamic traffic flow modeling using as a data source information the measurement system weight Preselection Implemented in Gdynia. The measuring point is located on the road leading to the Gdynia container terminals and to Gdynia Kwiatkowski, which is Directly connected with the TriCity Bypass. One of the goals of the system is collect data which can be used for operational purposes and statistics. Measurement period allowed the appointment of a mathematical model which describes the dynamic variation of the structure of the stream. In Addition, an analysis of the variability of the traffic flow in both the daily and weekly basis is presented. This give possibility to determine the effect of time of day and day of the week on the parameters of a dynamic model describing the structure of a generic stream. The resulting model allows the study of the impact of the share of heavy vehicles on ride comfort of passenger cars.
