This article argues that the development of innovation competences should take a more formalised role within the national education curriculum. The authors have developed a list of eighteen competences based on literature review and consultations with experts, with empirical results from a national study commissioned by the Polish Ministry of Development. The main purpose of the study was to propose a set of measures and recommendations in regard to the national reform of the education system in Poland. Based on extensive empirical data from that study the authors propose a set of hypotheses necessary to further investigate the possible relationships between variables analysed during the study commissioned by the Ministry, which include some of the demographic characteristics of Polish teachers in regard to their attitudes towards those competences. Although this is not the first endeavour in research on education to develop such a set of competences, the added value of this particular study is the acceptance and implementation of the research findings as a national benchmark in the Polish national education system. The results are of value to both teachers and teacher educators, and we position our research as Translational Research, attempting to bridge the gap between basic research and the world of practice, which involves teachers, as well as school and system-level leaders.

W artykule dokonano analizy „systemowego” wymiaru istniejących instytucjonalno‑prawno‑organizacyjnych osobliwości polityki innowacyjnej na Ukrainie, w oparciu o podejście SI (SI – System Innowacji), które jest uważane za jedną z głównych wytycznych dla kształtowania polityki innowacyjnej, w tym w szczególności również na Ukrainie. Stwierdzono, że państwowe dokumenty strategiczne w niewystarczający sposób odzwierciedlają systemowy charakter NSI (NSI – Narodowy System Innowacji), ani też nie sytuują powiązań ani przedsiębiorstw w centrum narodowego systemu innowacji. Określono obszary, w których polityka innowacyjna nie może być w pełni realizowana ze względu na obecny sposób organizacji działań i uprawnienia centralnych organów wykonawczych w tej dziedzinie, a w szczególności na ich wpływ na biznes, tworzenie infrastruktury i rozwój powiązań. Przedmiotem analizy są doświadczenia krajów europejskich w zakresie wdrażania polityki innowacyjnej, w szczególności w zakresie tworzenia i funkcjonowania modeli krajowych agencji innowacji, a także spektrum ich funkcji. W oparciu o doświadczenia europejskie proponuje się utworzenie Państwowej Agencji ds. Innowacji i Rozwoju na Ukrainie, która będzie integrować funkcje finansowania projektów regionalnych, udzielać porad i realizować podstawowe funkcje instytucji wspomagającej innowacje.  
The article investigates the “systemic” dimension of the existing institutional‑legal and organizational peculiarities of the innovation policy in Ukraine, based on the IS approach, which is seen as one of the main guidelines for the innovation policy formation, and, in particular, underlies the Ukrainian framework as well. The authors found that state strategic documents do not sufficiently reflect the systemic character of the NIS, nor do they place linkages or firms at the core of the national innovation system. Areas are determined where the innovation policy cannot be realized completely because of the current organization of activities and powers of the central executive authorities in this field, specifically: the impact on business, the formation of infrastructure, and the development of linkages. European countries’ experience in the field of innovation policy implementation is explored, particularly, the creation and operating of the models of the national innovation agencies as well as the spectrum of their functions. Based on the European experience, it is proposed that a State Agency for Innovation and Development in Ukraine be created that will integrate the functions of regional project funding, provide advice, and realize the basic functions of the innovation intermediary.

Opis:
Enterprises seek for possibilities to limit the costs and for areas that stimulate the level of innovation. Both of these aspects can be effectively supported by application of cloud computing, without a simultaneous need to make a choice of a trade-off type. The aim of the article is to prove that cloud computing provides entrepreneurs with the possibility to limit the costs and at the same time to support their activities related to the selected direction of innovation development. It has both a direct influence on the level and structure of costs in the enterprise, as well as an indirect influence, e.g. related to shortening the time for introduction of new solutions to the market, making decisions or limiting the costs of projects.
Przedsiębiorstwa poszukują możliwości ograniczania kosztów i obszarów stymulowania poziomu innowacyjności. Obydwa te aspekty mogą być skutecznie wspierane przez zastosowanie cloud computing, bez jednoczesnej potrzeby dokonywania wyboru typu trade-off. Celem artykułu jest udowodnienie, że przetwarzanie w chmurze daje przedsiębiorcom możliwość równoczesnego ograniczania kosztów, jak i wspierania ich działań związanych z wybranym kierunkiem rozwoju innowacji. Ma zarówno bezpośredni wpływ na poziom i strukturę kosztów w przedsiębiorstwie, jak i wpływ pośredni, np. związany ze skróceniem czasu wprowadzania nowych rozwiązań na rynek, podejmowania decyzji, czyli ograniczeniem kosztów projektów.

This study focuses on the development of a specific type of Intelligent Agents — Business Virtual Assistants (BVA). The paper aims to identify the scope of collaboration between users and providers in the process of agent development and to define the impact that user interpretations of a BVA agent have on this collaboration. This study conceptualises the collaboration between providers and users in the process of the BVA development. It uses the concept of the collaborative development of innovation and sensemaking. The empirical part presents preliminary exploratory in-depth interviews conducted with CEOs of BVA providers and analyses the use of the scheme offered by Miles and Hubermann (1994). The main results show the scope of the collaboration between BVA users and providers in the process of the BVA development. User engagement is crucial in the development of BVA agents since they are using machine learning algorithms. The user interpretation through sensemaking influences the process as their attitudes guide their behaviour. Apart from that, users have to adjust to this new kind of entity in the market and learn how to use it in line with savoir-vivre rules. This paper suggests the need to develop a new approach to the collaborative development of innovation when Artificial Intelligence is involved.

Research background: There is a considerable amount of literature focused on customers' motivation to participate in cooperative new product development [NPD], but previous research neglected the suppliers' perspective concerning organizational mechanisms for the facilitation of customer involvement in cooperative new product development. Purpose of the article: The aim of the study is to explore the influence of two kinds of dynamic capabilities, proactive customer orientation [PCO] and joint learning capability [JLC] on the acceptance and use of machine to machine interaction [M2M] in collaborative innovation development [CID], from the supplier's perspective. Methods: The research is based on a case study carried out from June 2018 till June 2019 of a Polish automation integrator supplying a manufacturer of automotive equipment, i.e. automotive industry, in a fully robotized workstation. In order to understand how the company functions in this case, in-depth interviews with the company's employees have been conducted. Findings & Value added: The results revealed that intelligent devices, interacting machines, and real-time data transfer to the supplier may cause disruptions through their impact on establishing trustful business relationships. We believe our findings could have a profound impact on the way how proactive customer orientation and relational interactions supported knowledge sharing and joint learning sense-making through operational meetings and on-the-job workshops which role was to evaluate the collaborative project.

Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje wybrane wyniki badań własnych z zakresu działalności innowacyjnej przedsiębiorstw działających na terenie województwa podkarpackiego oraz regionu Wschodniej Słowacji (Východoslovenskeho regionu). Na wstępie przedstawiono teoretyczny zarys pojęcia innowacji, opisano jej różne rodzaje oraz znaczenie z punktu widzenia rozwoju przedsiębiorstw w regionie. Następnie na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań, trwających od października 2009 do maja 2010 r. na terenie Podkarpacia i Wschodniej Słowacji, dokonano analizy stopnia zainteresowania działalnością innowacyjną stu losowo wybranych przedsiębiorstw działających na terenie województwa podkarpackiego.
Article presents chosen results from own research. Issue of research was concentrated on area of innovations of companies from Podkarpacie region and East Slovakia. Author presented theoretical frame of importance of innovations, different types of innovations and their role in development of individual companies in the region. On the basis of own research conducted since October 2009 till May 2010 the author analyzed chosen aspects of innovation activity of 100 random chosen companies from Podkarpacie region.

The twenty-first century has brought lots of challenges for people in all spheres, including education. In the new context, traditional approaches often seem ineffective and therefore new tools and methods have to be applied. It is a human-centered problem-solving approach that may be used in the teaching/learning process to develop twenty-first century skills and enhance creativity and innovation. Aim: Questionnaire research can be used as a teaching instrument and to measure the impacts of education for sustainable development. This paper presents a case study of a teaching intervention regarding students’ perception of operations and (supply) management fragilities, such as dependency on few customers or suppliers; difficult to find employees; and low probability, high impact events for business sustainability. The teaching intervention focused on side effects of innovations, leading to vulnerabilities that can threaten the existence of an enterprise. This research was carried out in the context of the capacity for creating an Early Warning System for small probability, high impact events. The following issues are addressed in the paper: 1). The impact of the teaching intervention on students’ perceptions; 2). Differences in perception between non-attending (N = 128) and attending students (pre-test N = 139; post-test N = 119). Design / Research methods: This paper discusses whether teaching interventions can influence the awareness of fragility issues as well as low probability, high impact events. The case-study is based on an experiment in a marketing course for management students of a large private business school in Wrocław (Poland) in April–May 2019. Before start of classes students filled out a questionnaire (Attending Students). A teaching intervention slide was used in every lecture. At the end of the course, all students (also the students absent during the first classes) filled out the repeat questionnaire. Statistical analysis was carried out whether there were differences between Attending Students filling out both questionnaires, and students only filling out the repeat questionnaire (Non Attending Students). Conclusions / findings: The findings show that students struggle to grasp the complexities and uncertainties surrounding sustainability and fragility issues in relation to the business context. The teaching interventions had limited impact on the ability of students to engage in these issues, albeit significant differences between attending and non-attending students were observed. A limitation of the results is that this study only concerned a case study of a specific group of students. An implication requiring deeper research is that while teachers can do in-depth exercises and provide lectures, a part of the students, being less motivated to obtain knowledge, is unlikely to grasp sustainability issues, when not included in assignments, examination preparation, or compulsory rather than elective courses. Opis:
This article seeks to address the pressing issue of developing the innovative activity of the domestic economy through the use of the potential of small and medium-sized enterprises, which has to do with the possibility of application of existing experience of the more developed foreign countries in order to achieve economic success. The purpose of this study is to examine the trends in the development of innovative activity of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine, as well as to determine the distribution of the total amount of expenditures by areas of innovation. Analysis of the literature on this issue has shown that the economic development of a country depends on many factors, and the use of intellectual potential is quite a significant factor in modern society. The relevance of this issue is supported by the fact that the majority of developed countries that have high levels of national income and are distinguished by the quality of life of the population are introducing the latest innovative inventions and using them appropriately in: production, agriculture, trade and other fields of activity. The research of the development of innovation activity of small and medium-sized enterprises in the article is carried out in the following logical sequence: analysis of small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine, analysis of small and medium-sized enterprises of EU countries, evaluation and comparison of innovation activity of Ukraine and EU countries. The methodical tools of the study included methods of statistical analysis. The study period was 2010-2018. The object of analysis is the process of development of innovation activity of small and medium-sized enterprises, as they are the majority of enterprises in Ukraine. The article presents the results of the analysis of the state of innovation the activity of small and medium-sized enterprises, which showed that our country needs significant transformation in this direction. Studies show that increasing the turnover and the production of small and medium-sized enterprises depends on the level of innovative development. The results of the study may be useful for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Poprzez innowacje i aktywizację inwestycji. Wskazano na rolę państwa w zakresie kreowania innowacji naukowych. Opisano regulacyjne normatywy prawne dotyczące polityki innowacyjnej. Wskazano na podstawowe formy finansowania innowacyjnych projektów w regionie Równem w latach 2011 - 2014. Stwierdzono, że głównym źródłem finansowania wydatków były środki własne przedsiębiorstw. Przeprowadzono analizę kosztów przedsiębiorstw przeznaczanych na innowacje i rozwój inwestycji celem poprawy obieków i infrastruktury publicznej.
In this journal article, it is clearly viewed into depth details about the state policy in the field of innovation and investment development. It is also considered the state regulators and scientific innovation. Here will be found the regulatory and legislative acts on which the innovation policy is based. It has also been found the basic sources of financing of innovative cost of the Rivne region for the 2011 – 2014 years. It was found that the main source of financing expenses were own funds of enterprises. It has been analysed the costs of the enterprises on the innovation development, and it also has been developed the measures to improve public policy.
В статье рассматривается государственная политика в сфере инновационноинвестиционного развития, рассмотрены государственные органы, регулирующие научную и инновационную деятельность. Приведенные нормативно-правовые и законодательные акты на которых основывается инновационная политика. Исследованы основные источники финансирования инновационных расходов Ровенской области в 2011 - 2014 гг. Установлено, что основным источником финансирования расходов были собственные средства предприятий. Проанализированы затраты предприятий на инновационную деятельность, и разработаны мероприятия по совершенствованию государственной политики.
