Opis:
This article presents the test results of injection processes of diesel-bioethanol fuel blends on a high pressure common rail injection system. The injection characteristics were analyzed using the injection rate measuring instrumentation. The injection rate, cycle injection quantity, injection delay and injection duration were analyzed across a range of injection pressure and injection energizing time. As the results show, the peak injection rate and delay of diesel-ethanol blends are lower compared to diesel fuel. The injection duration and discharge coefficients of diesel-ethanol blends were lower than those of diesel fuel. It was observed that fuel density and fuel viscosity have significant influence on the injection characteristics.

The paper presents the experimental test results of a common rail injection system operating with biodiesel and the diesel fuel. The three fuel split injection strategies were implemented to investigate the effects made by biodiesel and a fossil diesel fuel on the history of injector inlet pressure and the injection rate. In addition, the three intervals between split injections and the different injection pressures were used to obtain more information about the studied subjects. The obtained results showed that the peak mass injection rates of the main injection phase were slightly higher when using biodiesel than the respective values measured with the normal diesel fuel. Because the first injection phase activated the fuel pressure fluctuations along the high-pressure line and in front of the injector, the time-span between injections has an impact on the injector inlet pressure and thus the fuel injection rate during the second injection phase. Since the nozzle closes little later for biodiesel, the injector inlet pressure also occurred latter in the cycle.

This study presents analyses concerning control processes of injection times of divided dose of fuel, starting from setting of injection time in controller up to moment of execution in compression ignition engine. Multiple injection doses were analyzed taking into consideration both sums of individual portions of doses as well as gaps between the doses. Studies were performed for various configurations of the doses, with different values of injection times and gaps between the injections. Measurements were performed for three measuring groups containing single-, two-, and five-portion doses. At constant values of time in a given group it have been applied variable injection pressures. The most important factors determining division of fuel dose were discussed.

Opis:
Hydrostatic injection of chemicals applied directly into the wood of live trees is the method used in treating and preventing many of diverse tree diseases. The usefulness of this method was proved as a result of the previously performed experiments with young trees. However, still an open question remains how much effective the treatment applied to older trees of greater dimensions can be. The author of the paper attempts to provide answer to this question.

One of the recent trends in heavy-duty engines has been the introduction of common rail injector with hydraulic amplifier (HADI − Hydraulically Amplified Diesel Injector) capable of considerable fuel pressure injection increase in reference to fuel pressure prevailing in rail of common rail fuel system. An example of a solution of this type of injectors is the two-valve CRIN4 injectors manufactured by Bosch. They allow the control of the fuel flow rate during injection process and therefore have an impact on the combustion process. In this article, advantages related to their use are described, which allow the engines with such injectors to meet the limits of the admissible content of toxic compounds in the exhaust gases defined in the EURO VI standard. An experimental study of the operation of the Bosch IV generation common rail system was performed on the Mercedes-Benz Actros. During measurement engine load, engine speed, waveforms (electric currents) controlling operation of the selected injectors, fuel pressure in the rail and the control current of high pressure pump control valve (metering unit) were registered. Interpretations of recorded waveforms were made, indicating the areas of application of the various modes operation. The use of CRIN4 injectors for the rapid reduction of fuel pressure in rail was observed, which supports the metering unit (ZME) for pressure control.

It is very important to achieve the low particulate and low emissions under high power operation conditions in practical industrial engine and turbine combustion. Several techniques for reducing the emissions have been proposed and a large amount of experimental data has been published. It is well known that the combustion field in practical industrial diesel engine are strongly influenced by the behaviour of injection, distribution of droplets and the premixed ratio of the combustion chamber. As the first step of this study, experiments have been carried out to examine the combustion characteristics of heterogeneous combustion field by using impinging injection and Split injection in a closed chamber. The combustion chamber is equipped with pintle type injection nozzles on each of the opposite walls along the length of the bomb. In this study, we call it “impinging injection” when the injection is performed at same time by two nozzles facing each other and “split injection” when the impinging injection is performed at two different timing. The main conclusions are as follows: 1) the most suitable conditions of injection timing exists for improving the maximum burning pressure and total burning time by using impinging injection; 2) the flame speed can be possible to control by using impinging injection timing from the ignition; 3) the heat release rate for Split injection is larger than that of standard impinging injection.

For unconventional oil and gas reservoirs such as shale oil and gas as well as tight oil and gas, hydraulic fracturing generally enhances oil recovery. However, the flowback rate of the residual fracturing fluid is low. The residual fracturing fluid in the fracture or the rock ma- trix can reduce relative permeability of oil and gas, and the production rate will decrease. Therefore, it is necessary to study the factors that affect the flowback rate of the fracturing fluid. Most previous studies used the slot model, and viscous and capillary forces explain stable discharge in porous media. The conclusions were only a primarily qualitative analysis. The factors from experimental studies were not comprehensive, and they did not consider the influence of gravity. There are few studies on unstable drainage in porous media un- der different displacement directions. This paper presents a carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar gum fracturing fluid with good temperature resistance, and a fracturing fluid flowback experiment is carried on. The effects of the displacement direction, injection pressure, inter- facial tension, fracturing fluid viscosity, and proppant wettability on the flowback rate are analyzed. The research results can provide formulation of the on-site construction scheme.

Coke oven gas (COG) dome injection in COREX melter gasifier is recognized as one of effective method to reduce the amount of solid fuel used for gasification. In this work, a static model was developed to study the characteristics when COG is injected from dome. The critical bosh gas and critical fuel rate in COREX melter gasifier under different melting rate and coke rate were discussed. The amount of COG injection from dome under the critical fuel rates was studied. The results shows that when the heat of bosh gas reaching the critical value, the decrement of fuel rate decreases with the increase of melting rate and increases with the increase of coke rate. Under the critical fuel rate, the total volume of COG increases with the increase of melting rate and coke rate. After the COG injection, the amount and reduction capacity of the generator gas can meet the needs of reduction in shaft furnace. The findings of this work can be used as a theoretical basis to guide plant operations for COG injection.

The aim of this project is to calculate bottom hole injection pressure versus depth while gas injection for pressure maintenance of Tengiz field in order to determine injectivity of various reservoir layers (Bash, Serp, Okskey).The mail objective is to develop correlations for the 7 active injection wells to predict bottom hole injection pressures at the end of the tubing, middle of Bash, middle of Serp, and middle of Oksky. Each well will have its own individual correlation. These correlations based on factors such as depth, temperature, pressure and rate. As a result, there are some deviations of predicted pressure versus measured pressure. I think, the basic reason is that we have different approximate gas injection rates. So we can't exactly determine its volume.
Celem projektu jest obliczenie ciśnienia zatłaczania na dnie otworu w funkcji głębokości w trakcie zatłaczania gazu w celu utrzymania ciśnienia w złożu Tengiz oraz określenie zdolności iniekcyjnych poszczególnych warstw złoża (Bash, Serp, Okskey). Podstawowym celem jest określenie korelacji dla siedmiu istniejących otworów iniekcyjnych oraz oszacowanie ciśnienia zatłaczania na dnie otworu na końcu rur (środkowy Bash, środkowy Serp, środkowy Okskey). Dla każdego otworu wylicza się indywidualną korelację na podstawie wartości głębokości, temperatury, ciśnienia i wydatku. W wyniku tego powstają odchylenia przewidywanej wartości ciśnienia w funkcji zmierzonego ciśnienia. W opinii autorów podstawowym powodem tego są różne szacowane prędkości zatłaczania, w zawiązku z czym trudne jest precyzyjne oszacowanie zatłaczanych objętości.

HCCI (Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition) combustion system is now one of the most promising solutions used in piston engines. The paper presents the results of three-dimensional modeling of combustion in the single cylinder HCCI engine powered with Diesel fuel. 3D modeling was performed in AVL Fire code. The basic combustion parameters including start of the ignition (SOI), burn duration (BD), indicated pressure (pi) and nitric oxide (NO) and soot (Soot) emissions were analyzed. The modeling results show that combustion process in HCCI engine compared to a conventional engine with compression ignition is characterized by an earlier ignition (SOI) and shorter burn duration (BD). The impossibility of controlling HCCI combustion process leads to deterioration of engine performance and increased emissions of harmful exhaust gas components. Calculations showed that for the same equivalence ratio of burn mixture, uncontrolled HCCI combustion compared to a controlled combustion in engine with fuel injection operated is characterized by higher NO emission and reduced Soot emission.
