Opis:
Noise measurement for the design of anti-noise measures is used as a tool to identify and evaluate the existing noise situation. The measurements are carried out in the vicinity of selected roads to demonstrate the need for the design of anti-noise measures or to assess the effectiveness of the measures. Where the measurements are performed for the design, detection and assessment of the effectiveness of a noise protection measure in relation to the protection of public health, such measurements shall be carried out by a person holding a Certificate of Professional Qualification for Qualitative and Quantitative Verification of Environmental Factors to assess their potential impact on health – noise measurement. The paper presents the modelling of the noise exposure using the infrared technology in the given area and the simulation of measures on the main road routes of the model.

Opis:
We derive an efficient algorithm for the steady state analysis of fibre lasers operating under cascade pumping scheme by combining the shooting method with the Newton-Raphson method. We compare the proposed algorithm with the two standard algorithms that have been used so far in the available literature: the relaxation method and the coupled solution method. The results obtained show that the proposed shooting method based algorithm achieves much faster convergence rate at the expense of a moderate increase in the calculation time. It is found that a further improvement in the computational efficiency can be achieved by using few iterations of the relaxation method to calculate the initial guess for the proposed shooting method based algorithm.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to test the usefulness of magnetron sputtering technology to produce coatings on selected elements of a firefighter’s helmet to protect against infrared radiation (PN-EN 171 standard). The scope of research includes testing the deposition produced via magnetron sputtering of metallic and ceramic coatings on plastics, which are used to manufacture the components comprising the personal protection equipment used by firefighters. The UV-VIS, NIR used to research the permeation coefficients and reflections for light and infrared light and the emission spectrometry with ICP-AES used for the quantitative analysis of elements in metallic and ceramic coatings. Microstructural and micro-analytical testing of the coatings were performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Measurements of the chemical compositions were conducted using energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The hardnesss of the coatings were tested using a indentation method, and the coating thicknesses were tested using a ellipsometry method.

Opis:
One of the key benefits of using thermal imaging is the ability to predict possible fire hazards due to increases in temperature in controlled areas in a particular marine facility or system. This study proposes the possibility of applying new electronic and computer technology as part of a ship’s fire detection system, such as the use of computer vision, using existing marine CCTV systems and installing thermal imaging IR cameras on the same system. It also proposes communication between the CCTV system and the fire detection and central alarm system of a ship. In addition to visual analysis of certain areas on board the ship and the related facilities inside it, with the addition of certain software applications into the existing CCTV system, the system itself becomes a fire alarm system, with the potential to forecast and send early warnings to the ship’s central fire alarm system in real time, thereby contributing to improved safety with regards to various areas, equipment, the ship as a whole, cargo and human lives.

Opis:
Precision casting is currently motivated by high demand especially for castings for the aerospace, automotive and gas turbine industries. High demands on precision of this parts pressure foundries to search for the new tools which can help them to improve the production. One of these tools is the numerical simulation of injection process, whereas such software especially for investment casting wax injection, process does not exist yet and for this case must be the existing software, for alloys or plastic, modified. This paper focuses on the use of numerical simulations to predict the behavior of injected models of gas turbine blades segments. The properties of wax mixtures, which were imported into the Cadmould simulation software as a material model, were found. The results of the simulations were verified using the results of 3D scanning measurements of wax models. As a supporting technology for verifying the results was used the Infrared Thermography.
