Opis:
Mergers of cultural institutions, including museums, quite often arouse controversies and emotions, which we learn about from the media. The employees of the merging institutions involved may feel apprehensive about being secured employment from the new employer. A merger of a museum with another museum or with another cultural institution which is not a museum in legal terms is qualified as a transfer of a work establishment to another employer in the understanding of Art. 231 of the Labour Code. The present paper is dedicated to the legal situation of museum employees of the merged museums. Its major part focuses on the rights of employees related to the transfer of a work establishment to another employer, and the paper answers the question whether employees’ interests are sufficiently protected in such a situation. De lege lata analysis of the employees’ situation yields de lege ferenda conclusions, since it seems that the legal protection of the transferred employees could be consolidated.

Research background: The contagious impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has heightened financial market's volatility, nonlinearity, asymmetric and nonstationary dynamics. Hence, the existing relationship among financial assets may have been altered. Moreover, the level of investor risk aversion and market opportunities could also alter in the pandemic. Predictably, investors in the heat of the moment are concerned about minimizing losses. In order to determine the level of hedge risks between implied volatilities in the COVID-19 pandemic through information flow, it is required to take into account the increased vagueness of economic projections as well as the increased uncertainty in asset values as a result of the pandemic. Purpose of the article: The study aims to examine the transmission of information between the VIX-implied volatility index for S&P 500 and fifteen other implied volatility indices in the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We relied on daily changes in the VIX and fifteen other implied volatility indices from commodities, currencies, and stocks. The study employed the improved complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise which is in line with the heterogeneous expectations of market participants to denoise the data and extract intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). Subsequently, we clustered the IMFs based on common features into high, low, and medium frequencies. The analysis was carried out using Rényi transfer entropy (RTE), which allowed for the evaluation of both linear and non-linear, as well as varied distributions of the market dynamics. Findings & value added: Findings from the RTE revealed a bi-directional flow of negative information amid the VIX and each of the volatility indices, particularly in the long term. We found this behavior of the markets to be consistent at varying levels of investors' risk aversion. The findings help investors with their portfolio strategies in the time of the pandemic, which has resulted in fluctuating levels of risk aversion. Our findings characterize global financial markets to be "non-linear heterogeneous evolutionary systems". The results also lend support to the emerging delayed volatility of market competitiveness and external shocks hypothesis.

Information technologies, ICT and Industry 4.0 are developing particularly fast in the fourth technological revolution. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in the scale of digitisation and internationalisation of remote communication processes and various aspects of economic activity. Digitisation of the economy is currently taking place simultaneously in many areas of economic processes and the functioning of many economic entities and public, financial and other institutions. Many companies, enterprises and public institutions that previously operated mostly or solely offline during the pandemic have switched to remote, electronic operation via the Internet. The development of electronic banking is also increasing, including internet and mobile banking. The share of electronic, cashless payments via the Internet and payments with electronic bank cards is increasing. In addition, in recent years, the range of applications of Data Science, Big Data, and Data Analytics technologies in economics, finance and organisation management, including enterprises, financial and public institutions, has been increasing. Therefore, the importance of implementing analytical instruments for advanced processing of large Data Science data sets in enterprises, financial and public institutions is also growing, including the construction of Big Data Analytics platforms to support organisation management processes in various aspects of operations, including improvement relationship with customers. The scale of cybercrime has also increased during the pandemic, as has the importance of improving cybersecurity techniques and instruments.

Design/methodology/approach: The article uses literature on communication and results of a survey conducted among the Bank's employees. Findings: Based on an analysis of research results, e-mail can be indicated as the dominant tool in the effective transmission of information at the Bank. In the opinion of employees, the Newsletter was deemed the least effective electronic tool. Research limitations/implications: In the presented literature review, the author used selected databases (Ebsco, CeON). The articles contained there do not exhaust the subject. Analyses were performed on a limited sample, using one diagnostic tool. It should be noted that for internal communication to be effective, the forms and tools existing in organisations need to be examined not so much with the aim of replacing them with others, but to verify the scope, legitimacy and frequency of their use by employees. Considering the growing importance of internal communication in the organisation and the evolution of tools available to organisations, the field for further research is limitless. Originality/value This article contributes to the scientific discussion on the effectiveness of providing information by traditional and electronic means, and verifies their usefulness in financial institutions.

This article is focused on enhancement of HW/SW device by cooperation with a smartphone interface. The device was a programmable Lego Mindstorms Education EV3 set in the form of a robot designed to solve the Rubik’s Cube. The aim of the research was to replace the built-in color sensor with a camera that would allow the cube scanning process to be accelerated. Two approaches were chosen to meet the goal: the NXTcam camera, accessible as an accessory to expand the set, and the camera built into the smartphone. The use of NXTcam led to better scan time, but this result was prone to external influences. The camera on the smartphone sped up the scanning process to 57% of the original time. The impact of external factors on the outcome was significantly lower, compared to NXTcam. In the experiment, the cube solving process was observed in natural light, with addition distractive light source and in artificial light.

The main aim of the article is to determine how the bankruptcy filing announcement of a stock listed company affects the market valuation of its competitors, depending on sector characteristics. An event study was conducted on the example of returns to shares of companies comprised in the WIG index and operating in 9 sectors. It is indicated that the bankruptcy filing announcement is quickly (within one day) incorporated into the share prices of competitors of the announcing firm. It is confirmed that the direction of market reaction toward share prices of competitors is differentiated by the characteristics of the sector. Averaged results show that the competitive effect occurs in the sectors with a high level of concentration, while the contagion effect is noted in sectors with low concentration. Companies from sectors characterized by low leverage experience the competitive effect. No information transfer was found for a group of companies in sectors characterized by high leverage.

Der Beitrag nimmt zunächst eine der markanten Tendenzen der deutschsprachigen Gegenwartsliteratur, das Format des Generationenromans, in den Blick und fragt nach seinen durch die Erinnerungsproblematik bedingten besonderen Prägungen. Daran anknüpfend werden mögliche Zugänge zu tabuisierten bzw. verdrängten Aspekten der Vergangenheit als Grundlage für eine Rekonstruktion der Familiengeschichte untersucht. Es wird erarbeitet, welche Schwierigkeiten und Möglichkeiten die Individuen im Umgang mit der Vergangenheit haben. Das literarische Korpus bilden sechs Generationenromane der deutschsprachigen Gegenwartsliteratur: Eine sehr kleine Frau (2007) von Peter Henisch, Engel des Vergessens (2011) von Maja Haderlap, Das Foto (2016) von Elva Schevemann, Haus der Kindheit (2000) von Anna Mitgutsch, Pawels Briefe. Eine Familiengeschichte (1999) von Monika Maron und Kleine Zeiten. Die Geschichte meiner Großmutter (2012) von Fritz Dittlbacher. Die Romane entwickeln für Generationenromane typische Vergangenheitsperspektiven, womit die Wirkung der Vergangenheit auf die Gegenwart bzw. die Zugangsmöglichkeiten zur Vergangenheit in diesen literarischen Texten zentral sind.
W artykule autorka omawia jedną z wiodących tendencji we współczesnej literaturze niemieckojęzycznej – powieść pokoleniową i pyta o jej szczególne cechy związane z kategorią pamięci. Analizie poddane są sposoby podejścia do tabuizowanych lub wypartych aspektów przeszłości jako podstawy do rekonstrukcji historii rodziny. Omówione zostały trudności i możliwości radzenia sobie z przeszłością. Korpus literacki składa się z sześciu powieści pokoleniowych reprezentujących współczesną literaturę niemiecką: Eine sehr kleine Frau (2007) Petera Henischa, Engel des Vergessens (2011) Maji Haderlap, Das Foto (2016) Elvy Schevemann, Haus der Kindheit (2000) Anny Mitgutsch, Pawels Briefe. Eine Familiengeschichte (1999) Moniki Maron i Kleine Zeiten. Die Geschichte meiner Großmutter (2012) Fritza Dittlbachera. Powieści te prezentują typowe dla gatunku spojrzenie na przeszłość, co oznacza, że wpływ przeszłości na teraźniejszość lub możliwości dostępu do przeszłości są centralnym tematem analizowanych tekstów.
The article first takes a look at one of the distinctive tendencies of contemporary German-language literature, the format of the generational novel, and asks about its special characteristics caused by the problem of memory. Following on from this, possible approaches to forgotten or repressed aspects of the past as a basis for a reconstruction of the family history are examined. Difficulties and possibilities individuals have in dealing with the past are explored. The literary corpus is made up of six generational novels of contemporary German literature: Eine sehr kleine Frau (2007) by Peter Henisch, Engel des Vergessens (2011) by Maja Haderlap, Das Foto (2016) by Elva Schevemann, Haus der Kindheit (2000) by Anna Mitgutsch, Pawels Briefe. Eine Familiengeschichte (1999) by Monika Maron and Kleine Zeiten. Die Geschichte meiner Großmutter (2012) by Fritz Dittlbacher. The novels develop perspectives on the past that are typical of generational novels, whereby the effect of the past on the present and the possibilities of access to the past are central in these literary texts.

We consider Laplacian fractional revival between two vertices of a graph $X$. Assume that it occurs at time \(\tau\) between vertices 1 and 2. We prove that for the spectral decomposition \(L=∑_{r=0}^qθ_rE_r\) of the Laplacian matrix $L$ of $X$, for each $r = 0, 1, . . ., q$, either $E_re_1 = E_re_2$, or $E_re_1 = −E_re_2$, depending on whether \(e^{i\tauθ_r}\) equals to 1 or not. That is to say, vertices 1 and 2 are strongly cospectral with respect to $L$. We give a characterization of the parameters of threshold graphs that allow for Laplacian fractional revival between two vertices; those graphs can be used to generate more graphs with Laplacian fractional revival. We also characterize threshold graphs that admit Laplacian fractional revival within a subset of more than two vertices. Throughout we rely on techniques from spectral graph theory.

North Korea is often seen as the most isolated country in the world. This isolation may be one of the key factors ensuring the rule of the Kim’s family. For the last several years, however, the information barrier has been increasingly violated there. This article therefore describes how information is provided to the DPRK and examines whether this process can cause significant socio-political changes in North Korea.
Korea Północna często postrzegana jest jako najbardziej odizolowane państwo świata. Izolacja ta może być jednym z kluczowych czynników zapewniających trwanie tamtejszego reżimu rodziny Kimów. Od kilkunastu lat jednak bariera informacyjna zaczyna być tam coraz częściej naruszana. Artykuł ten opisuje zatem sposoby przekazywania informacji do KRLD oraz stanowi analizę tego, czy proces ten może spowodować w Korei Północnej znaczące zmiany społeczno- -polityczne.

Opis:
Artykuł dotyczy porównania współpracy pomiędzy programami inżynierskimi na podstawie transferu danych modelu zgodnie z ideą BIM. W tym celu taki sam model BIM obiektu usługowo-biurowego utworzono w dwóch różnych programach źródłowych, a następnie wykonano jego eksport i poddano weryfikacji za pomocą analizy MES. Obiekt składa się z hali stalowej oraz dwóch niewielkich budynków biurowych o konstrukcji żelbetowej. Do modelowania użyto programów REVIT oraz TEKLA, a obliczenia wykonano za pomocą programu ROBOT. Weryfikacja MES zawiera głównie analizę statyczną, ale pokazane są także wyniki dla zagadnienia drgań własnych.
The paper evaluates the interaction between software packages for engineers on the basis of data transfer according to the BIM idea. For this purpose the same model of an office-service building set is prepared in two different source packages and next it is exported and verified using the FEM analysis. The facility consists of a steel hall and two small office buildings with reinforced concrete structure. The REVIT and TEKLA programs are selected for modeling, while package ROBOT is used for computations. The FEM verification contains mainly a static analysis, but the results of an eigen-vibration problem are also shown.

Opis:
The goal of the work is to define the probability factor of particles movement in a gas-dispersed turbulent flow. The object of the research is the description of harmful impurities transfer process in the atmosphere with the help of mathematical modelling of variability of gas and aerosol composition of atmosphere. Another object is assessment atmospheric impurities on the environment. The novelty of the research is that probabilitystatistical approach is used in modelling the transfer of harmful impurities from anthropogenic sources into the atmosphere.
Celem pracy jest określenie współczynnika prawdopodobieństwa ruchu cząstek w przepływie turbulentnym dyspersyjnym w gazie. Celem pracy jest opisanie procesu przenoszenia szkodliwych zanieczyszczeń do atmosfery za pomocą matematycznego modelowania zmienności składu gazów i aerozoli atmosferycznych oraz ocena wpływu zanieczyszczeń atmosferycznych na środowisko. Nowością tych badań jest zastosowanie probabilistycznego i statystycznego podejścia do modelowania transferu szkodliwych zanieczyszczeń ze źródeł antropogenicznych do atmosfery.

Opis:
With the advent of 3D cameras, getting depth information along with RGB images has been facilitated, which is helpful in various computer vision tasks. However, there are two challenges in using these RGB-D images to help recognize RGB images captured by conventional cameras: one is that the depth images are missing at the testing stage, the other is that the training and test data are drawn from different distributions as they are captured using different equipment. To jointly address the two challenges, we propose an asymmetrical transfer learning framework, wherein three classifiers are trained using the RGB and depth images in the source domain and RGB images in the target domain with a structural risk minimization criterion and regularization theory. A cross-modality co-regularizer is used to restrict the two-source classifier in a consistent manner to increase accuracy. Moreover, an L2,1 norm cross-domain co-regularizer is used to magnify significant visual features and inhibit insignificant ones in the weight vectors of the two RGB classifiers. Thus, using the cross-modality and cross-domain co-regularizer, the knowledge of RGB-D images in the source domain is transferred to the target domain to improve the target classifier. The results of the experiment show that the proposed method is one of the most effective ones.

Dynamiczny rozwój systemów informatycznych nie pozostaje bez wpływu na zachodzące przemiany społeczno–gospodarcze, kształtując możliwości nowoczesnego zarządzania również w sferze rozwoju przestrzennego. Na tym tle prezentowane badanie podjęło próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie jak opisywany postęp cywilizacyjny wpływa na ramy funkcjonowania polityki przestrzennej polskich gmin. Badanie ograniczono do zagadnień związanych ze współczesnym przekazem informacji i jego wpływem na zaangażowanie społeczne w proces planowania przestrzennego oraz na świadomość prawną władz samorządowych w realizowanej samodzielnie polityce przestrzennej. W świetle zgromadzonych wyników zdiagnozowano znaczący rozdźwięk między współczesnym potencjałem informatycznym, a rzeczywistymi działaniami samorządów lokalnych, prowadzący do dezintegracji procesów planistycznych i konfliktów społecznych. W pracy przedstawiono również zarys proponowanych, niezbędnych działań naprawczych.
The dynamic development of information systems affects the ongoing socio-economic changes, shaping the possibilities of modern management also in the sphere of spatial development. Against this background, the presented study attempted to answer the question of how the described civilizational progress affects the framework of the functioning spatial policy of Polish municipalities. The study was confined to matters associated with contemporary information transfer and its effects on public involvement in the process of spatial planning, as well as on the legal awareness of municipal government personnel in their individually applied spatial policy. In light of the collected results, a significant discrepancy was diagnosed between the contemporary IT potential and actual measures taken by municipal governments, leading to the disintegration of planning processes and social conflicts. The work features an outline of proposed necessary reparative measures.
