Przedmiotem badań uczyniono sytuację absolwentów kierunku Informatologia z biznesowym językiem angielskim na rynku pracy. W literaturze przedmiotu istnieje luka w badaniach losów absolwentów studiów związanych z informatologią. Częściowo taki stan rzeczy usprawiedliwia fakt, iż badany kierunek na poziomie studiów magisterskich istnieje w ofercie Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego dopiero od roku 2018. Celem badań było poznanie i opis jak w rzeczywistości wyglądają losy osób po zakończeniu ścieżki edukacyjnej i wkroczeniu na rynek pracy. Do odpowiedzi na postawione pytania użyto metody sondażu diagnostycznego. Łącznie udział w ankiecie wzięło trzynastu respondentów. Na podstawie badań sondażowych określono, jak przedstawia się sytuacja absolwentów na rynku pracy w temacie zatrudnienia i wynagradzania ich za pracę. Ponadto ustalono kwestie dotyczące aktywności zawodowej badanych: ich zadowolenia z obecnego miejsca pracy, również pod względem zarobkowym, ale również planów na przyszłość w kontekście ewentualnej jego zmiany, opisano też ich refleksje na temat kompetencji związanych z rynkiem pracy oraz procesu uzupełniania zdobytego wykształcenia (wiedzy i umiejętności), zidentyfikowano także czynniki motywujące do podjęcia pracy w danym miejscu oraz grupy zawodowe, w których znaleźli zatrudnienie.
The subject of the research was the situation of Informatology with business English on the labor market. In the literature on the subject, there is a gap in the research on the fate of graduates of studies related to information science. This state of affairs is partially justified by the fact that the studied field at the level of master's studies has only been offered by the University of Łódź since 2018. The aim was to get to know and describe the real fate of people after completing the educational path and entering the labor market. The diagnostic survey method was used to answer the questions. A total of thirteen respondents took part in this questionnaire. Based on the surveys, it was determined what the situation of graduates in the labor market looks like in terms of employment and remuneration for work. In addition, issues related to the professional activity of the respondents were determined: their satisfaction with the current workplace, also in terms of earnings, but also plans for the future in the context of its possible change, and their reflections on competences related to the labor market and the process of supplementing the acquired education (knowledge and skills), factors motivating to take up work, and occupational groups in which they found employment were also identified.

Jak pokazują sondaże, większości żołnierzy towarzyszy poczucie narastającej dezinformacji. Związane jest to nie tylko z rzeczywistą skalą zjawiska, ale także ze społecznym oddźwiękiem terminu „dezinformacja” i samym rozumieniem tego pojęcia. Jego sens uległ zmianie przez przesunięcie akcentu z pytania o prawdziwość informacji na pytanie o jej – z konieczności względną i subiektywną – użyteczność. Dokonało się to wraz z instytucjonalizacją użycia terminu, niejako zawłaszczeniem przez różnego rodzaju organizacje rządowe i pozarządowe, które dostosowały jego znaczenie do własnych celów.
As surveys show, most soldiers feel a sense of growing disinformation. This is related not only to the actual scale of the phenomenon, but also to the social resonance of the term “disinformation” and the understanding of the concept itself. Its meaning has changed by shifting the emphasis from the question about the truthfulness of information to the question about its – necessarily relative and subjective – usefulness. This occurred with the institutionalization of the use of the term, appropriated by various types of governmental and non-governmental organizations, which adapted its meaning to their own purposes

The article was inspired by the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Kazimierz Wielki University in 2019. For more than half a century, librarians from the Department of Information Science in Kazimierz Wielki University Library have supported their users in accessing valuable publications. The librarians also conduct various educational activities, document the academic achievements of the University staff, and shape a positive image of the library in its environment.

Artykuł realizuje dwa cele: jednym jest opis przebiegu pierwszej edycji konkursu prac licencjackich i magisterskich ukończonych w 2020 r. przez studentów kierunków prowadzonych w Uniwersytecie Łódzkim: Informacja w środowisku cyfrowym oraz Informatologia z biznesowym językiem angielskim. Drugim celem opracowania staje się nakreślenie tła dla łódzkich doświadczeń jako krótki przegląd działań, który obrazuje istniejące konkursy w sposób przekrojowy (tradycja i typy konkursów), przedstawia motywy i dążenia organizatorów (cele konkursów), a także dostarcza pewnych informacji odnośnie oceniania zgłoszonych prac (elementy oceny prac konkursowych). W tej części artykułu przydatnym źródłem okazały się materiały związane z konkursami (ogłoszenia, regulaminy) zamieszczone w Internecie.
The article pursues two goals: one is the description of the course of the first edition of the Competition for bachelor’s and master’s thesis, completed in 2020 by students of conducted at the University of Lodz fields: “Information in the digital environment” and “Informatology with business English”. The second goal of the study is to outline the background for Lodz’s experience, as a short overview of activities that illustrates the existing competitions in a cross-sectional way (tradition and types of competitions), presents the motives and aspirations of the organizers (competition’s goals), and provides some information on the evaluation of submitted works (elements of the evaluation of competition entries). In this part of the article, materials related to competitions (announcements, regulations) posted on the Internet turned out to be a useful source.

Celem artykułu jest wskazanie możliwości interdyscyplinarnej współpracy, łączącej specyfikę badań nad kulturą oraz związanych z informacją i komunikacją. Artykuł stanowi także głos w dyskusji związanej ze zmianami klasyfikacji dziedzin nauki i dyscyplin naukowych oraz dyscyplin artystycznych. Zidentyfikowane zostały i omówione wybrane przykłady problemów badawczych funkcjonujących na styku nauk o kulturze oraz bibliologii i informatologii. Należą do nich np. kulturotwórcza funkcja informacji i komunikacji; zmiany artefaktów kultury (książek i dokumentów) w elektronicznym środowisku sieciowym, dzieło i jego relacje z odbiorcami, zarządzanie informacjami o dziełach w procesie komunikacji. Sformułowanych zostało kilka pytań i propozycji badawczych. Artykuł wskazuje na zasadność i korzyści z pogłębienia interdyscyplinarnych badań między naukami o kulturze a bibliologią i informatologią.
The aim of the article is to indicate the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation, combining the specifics of research on culture and related to information and communication. The article is also a voice in the discussion related to changes in the classification of fields of science and scientific and artistic disciplines. Selected examples of research problems functioning between culture studies, bibliology and information science have been identified and discussed. These include, for example, the culture-forming function of information and communication; changes in cultural artefacts (books and documents) in a digital network environment; the work and its relationships with recipients, and management of information about works in the communication process. Several research questions and proposals have been formulated. The article indicates the legitimacy and benefits of interdisciplinary research between culture studies and bibliology and information science.

In the opinion of the Sejm, the provisions of the Act conform to the Constitution. In its position the Sejm states that disclosing to third parties the contents of applications for financing scientific research submitted in proceedings under the Act as public information would pose a significant threat to the material and non-material interests of the authors of the applications. The assumption that the contents of the review and the personal data of experts may be disclosed as public information due to the loss of binding force of these provisions in the result of the judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal means that such persons would be exposed to effects that could not be foreseen at the time of the review.

W artykule skupiono się na przedstawieniu charakterystyki „Roczników Bibliotecznych” i aktualnych problemów pracy redakcyjnej w ostatnim dziewięcioleciu, głównie w związku z ministerialnymi ewaluacjami czasopisma dokonywanymi od 1998 r. oraz aktualną sytuacją dyscypliny naukowej bibliologia i informatologia. W związku z zachodzącymi przemianami w organizacji i kierunkach rozwoju nauki polskiej najważniejszym wyzwaniem dla czasopisma staje się jego umiędzynarodowienie i od realizacji tego postulatu będzie zależeć jego dalszy rozwój.
The article focuses on presenting the characteristics of the “Library Annuals” („Roczniki Biblioteczne”) and the editorial problems in the last nine years, mainly related to the ministerial evaluations of the journal carried out since 1998 and the current situation of the scientific discipline “Bibliology and Information Science”. Regarding the ongoing changes in the organization and development directions of Polish science, the most important challenge for the journal is its internationalization, as its further development shall depend on the implementation of this postulate.

Wartość poznawcza: Artykuł włącza się w dyskusję naukową zainicjowaną wypowiedzią Marka Jabłonowskiego i Tomasza Mielczarka Komunikowanie społeczne i media – federacja, a nie inkorporacja („Studia Medioznawcze” 2018, (4) 75, 13–29) nad nową klasyfikacją dziedzin nauki i dyscyplin naukowych oraz dyscyplin artystycznych.
Scientific objective: The thesis of the paper is to confirm the need and the possibility of preserving the specifics of research aimed at book and information in the new classification of science and scientific disciplines by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland. Research methods: The method of analysis and criticism of the literature has been used. Results and conclusions: The authors are in favor of preserving the specificity of research focused on a book and information, while looking for a new and common areas and ways to solve research problems in collaboration with researchers representing media and social communication studies. Cognitive value: The paper is included in the scientific discussion initiated by the paper by Marek Jabłonowski and Tomasz Mielczarek “Komunikowanie społeczne i media – federacja, a nie inkorporacja” (Media Studies 2018, 4(75), 13–29) on the new classification of science and scientific and artistic disciplines.

The modern information environment is dynamic and characterized by the speed with which multimedia content is created, collected, contributed to and shared. Users have access to documents which are part of large, changing and diverse sets of data, whose effective processing can lead, and frequently does lead, to new knowledge being discovered. However, the overwhelming majority of the resources available today require specialized tools and techniques for identifying, searching, collecting and organizing the large volumes of data. This also applies to data directly related to the activities of institutions dealing in information or the field of information science, especially the theory and practice of accessing, searching and collecting documents. The purpose of this article is to present selected issues and challenges related to exploring the possibilities offered by big data from the perspective of information science, the activities of libraries and the information resources they offer. Based on a critical analysis of the relevant literature and with use of inductive reasoning, experiments and observations, selected aspects of digital document accessibility and classification are presented, in addition to issues related to searching and identifying resources using tools currently offered by libraries (in particular discovery systems).

Celem artykułu jest analiza przesłanek skłaniających do określenia paradygmatów dyscypliny nauki o komunikacji społecznej i mediach w kontekście nowej klasyfikacji dziedzin i dyscyplin nauki. Metody badań: Przy założeniu, że w nowej dyscyplinie dominują przedstawiciele dotychczasowej nauki o mediach oraz bibliologii i informatologii istotne jest podjęcie dyskusji tożsamościowej, wyodrębnienie subdyscyplin oraz udoskonalenie narzędzi badawczych. Wyniki i wnioski: W artykule przedstawiono chronologiczny i problemowy zarys rozwoju badań mediów w Polsce, szczególnie po 2011 roku, z uwzględnieniem aktywności Polskiego Towarzystwa Komunikacji Społecznej. Wartość poznawcza: Zwrócono uwagę na potencjał wynikający z połączenia dyscyplin autonomicznych charakteryzujących się multigenetycznością i otwartością.
Scientific objective: The aim of the paper is to analyze the premises that lead to the definition of paradigms of media and social communication in the context of new classifi cation of fields and disciplines of science. Research methods: Assuming that the new discipline is dominated by representatives of the current media science, as well as book studies and information science, it is important to undertake an identity discussion, identify sub-disciplines and improve research tools. Results and conclusions: The paper presents a chronological and problematic outline of the development of media research in Poland, especially after 2011, including the activity of the Polish Society of Social Communication. Cognitive value: Attention is drawn to the potential resulting from the combination of autonomic disciplines characterized by multigenic aspects and openness.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono wybrane aktualne problemy związane z nor-malizacją i standaryzacją w zakresie informacji i dokumentacji. Analizie poddane zostały zagadnienia warunkujące efektywność działalności normalizacyjnej i wska-zywane jako problematyczne w środowisku polskich pracowników ośrodków in-formacji: spadek intensywności prac nad wprowadzaniem norm międzynarodowych i powoływaniem norm własnych oraz wycofywanie dotychczas wykorzystywanych; kosztowność publikacji i pozyskiwania norm; problemy metodologiczne towarzyszą-ce zwłaszcza tłumaczeniu norm obcych i utrzymaniu ich odpowiedniego poziomu; konieczność zachowania semantycznej spójności w zakresie stosowanych terminów i języka branżowego; nadmierna formalizacja. Jako metodę koordynacji prac stan-daryzacyjnych w Polsce (obejmujących standardy de facto, w odróżnieniu od norm de iure) zaproponowano powołanie stowarzyszenia skupiającego osoby i instytucje zainteresowane korzystaniem ze standardów tego zakresu. Istotna będzie komple-mentarna współpraca z Komitetem 242 ds. Informacji i Dokumentacji PKN. Jedno-cześnie stowarzyszenie powinno współdziałać z organizacjami międzynarodowymi o podobnym profilu.
A proposal for a Polish model of standardizing and normalizing procedures in the field of information and documentationAbstract: The article presents selected, current problems concerning normaliza-tion and standardization in the field of information and documentation. The author analyzes issues affecting the effectiveness of normalizing procedures and indicated as problematic by the employees of Polish information centers. These include: the decrease in the intensity of introducing international norms and establishing national norms, accompanied by the withdrawal of the previous norms; the cost of publi-cation and acquisition of the norms; the methodological issues accompanying the translation of foreign-language norms and the faithfulness of translation, including the necessity to maintain semantic coherence with regard to the terms and specialist language used; excessive formalization. To coordinate the standardizing practices in Poland (which include the de facto standards, as opposed to the de iure norms), it was proposed to establish a society comprised of people and institutions interested in utilizing those standards. This society should cooperate in particular with Committee 242 on Information and Documentation at the Polish Committee for Standardization. At the same time, the society should establish cooperation with other international agencies with a similar profile.
