    Opis:
    The subject matter of this paper is Chronofleks, a computer system (http://chronofleks.nlp.ipipan.waw.pl/) modelling Polish inflection based on a corpus material. The system visualises changes of inflectional paradigms of individual lexemes over time and enables examination of the variability of the frequency of inflected form groups distinguished based on various criteria. Feeding Chronofleks with corpus data required development of IT tools to ensure an inflectional processing sequence of texts analogous to the ones used for modern language; they comprise a transcriber, a morphological analyser, and a tagger. The work was performed on data from three historical periods (1601–1772, 1830–1918, and modern ones) elaborated in independent projects. Therefore, finding a common manner of describing data from the individual periods was a significant element of the work.

    Opis:
    Authors of this paper present a development of a visual web dictionary based on automatic extraction of verbs and their attributes from texts using the inflection dictionary of Polish language. Entries of the designed dictionary are based on triples: subject (agent) + predicate (action) + object/tool. The paper describes a prototype implementation of such a dictionary. In the paper the background for the research is presented as well as the considered problem is outlined. Moreover, the structure of the inflection dictionary of Polish language is described along with the classification of computer dictionaries. In the implementation part of the paper, the architecture of the developed web dictionary and the extraction algorithm are described.

    This paper describes a forgotten historical grammar book of Polish, which was published in the form of a multiplied typescript as a compilation of notes from the lectures delivered by Jan Otrębski at the Stefan Batory University of Vilnius in the 1930s. The notes were compiled by Otrębski’s student, Józef Trypućko. The study was published in 1933 and 1934 in two parts: one and three. Part two probably remained in the form of a manuscript. In the opinion of the authors, the study, although incomplete, provides an insight in the content of Otrębski’s lectures and the teaching of the historical grammar of Polish in Vilnius in the 1930s. It presents also the scholar’s innovative hypotheses, which cannot be found in the historical grammar books of that time.

    This paper describes the possibilities of the diachronic description of Polish inflection by the Chronofleks system and using it in academic didactics of historical linguistics classes. In new didactic seems necessary to use solutions based on new technologies that use students’ digital skills. Therefore, the observations carried out were to check the extent to which Chronofleks is helpful both in verifying the information available in academic textbooks and in the independent acquisition of knowledge by students. Three grammar issues were selected for research: Kopczyński’s rules, distribution of historic singular endings of male nouns, and ending frequency of the first person plural of verbs. The tests showed that a student can successfully learn the morphology of old Polish using the Chronofleks tool. In addition, Chronofleks allows you to implement a self-study teaching model.

    Opis:
    The article discusses a regional variety of Polish spoken in Kiyv preserved in the Polish-Latin panegyrics composed by Stefan Jaworski (1656(8)–1722) to venerate Warłam Jasiński. The analysis aims at drawing a catalogue of phonetic, inflectional, word formation and syntactic idiolectal features of this variety as juxtaposed against the 17th century standard Polish. The analysis reveals the poet’s fluency in a language that was foreign (second) to him. This fluency also covers the poet’s skill in using varietal forms to achieve artistic aims. The regional forms subject to the study often display closeness to the ones in the Borderland variety of Polish, yet with an idiolectal inflectional features, e.g.: a large number of participles ending in -owszy or frequent cases of l/ł alternation.

    Opis:
    The number of students with the experience of migration has been growing year by year in Polish schools. They need to learn Polish relatively fast for educational purposes. This paper presents, based on a pilot glottodidactic experiment, the observations of how foreign children could be helped to learn Polish using simple math exercises. The demonstrated outline of the didactic innovation is aimed at showing how the repeatability of language sequences in the narration of the exercises affects the development of students’ grammatical and lexical competence.

    This article presents the phonetic and inflection linguistic changes in the three editions of Krzysztof Kluk’s The trees, garden herbs and gardens (edit. 1777, 1797, 1808). The first part of the analysis focuses on those changes that are consistent with the evaluation of the Polish nationwide standardized language at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The second part of the article presents linguistic changes where the modern and correct forms are changed into the older one, consistent with the north-eastern Polish language of the Eastern Borderlands. Ascertaining why the editors of Kluk’s book used the older linguistic forms instead of the correct forms, leads to attempts to determine the standard linguistic norms in the Piarists’ printing house during the very short period at the turn of the eighteenth and the nineteenth centuries.

    The focus of the author’s interest is the overwiev of various problems within the field of inlection. The author differentiates between the internal and external inflection and highlights paradigmatics and the descriptions of inflectional catergories. According to her, the research perfomed by Jerzy Kuryłowicz marked the breakthrough in the field and resulted in the introduction of the term: isomorphism. Structural descriptions were particularly important (the approaches of I. Bajerowa, M. Honowska,W.Rzepka), as well as normative ones (H. Satkiewicz and W. Książek – Bryłowa). The author compiles also the works concerned with literary language and inflectional categories in the history of the Polish language.

    The subject of this study is inflection of nouns in Książki o wychowaniu dzieci [...] (Cracow 1558) by Erazm Gliczner. The main research aim was verifying progressive of standardisation of the Polish language in comparison to the first part of the sixteenth century. Due to the fact that sixteenth century was a time of the biggest development of Polish language changes were dynamic. Presented research results are only general trends but they show us a progress of normalization. Polish author had a good intuition with regard to developmental tendencies of 16th Polish language. He usually was choosing new variants of inflection forms.
