Opis:
Errors of INS output parameters lead to a positive feedback effect of errors and eventually to an even more dramatic increase in system errors. To reduce the impact of this problem on the error output parameters of INS, in this paper, we propose and study a new concept of constructing algorithms for autonomous INS, which is called as synergetic concept. In the paper the synergetic concept of inertial system’s algorithm is presented and investigated by implementing its into strapdown inertial navigation system (SDINS).

Opis:
Over the past decades microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) researchers have demonstrated a number of microsensors for almost every possible sensing modality, including attitudes. Current MEMS inertial measurement units (IMU) come in many shapes, sizes, and costs — depending on the application, and performance required. MEMS sensors have proved and demonstrated performance exceeding those of their macroscale counterpart sensors. In the paper chosen IMU applications in underwater measurements are presented. First, for reduction of instability of the underwater sensor during measurements, like multibeam echosounder system (MBES), where the MEMS parameters’ quality are crucial for further MBES record-processing. Second, in underwater navigation systems, for determining the position of underwater vehicles, like Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and, more recently, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) or to improve other positioning methods.

Opis:
In this paper an adaptive unscented Kalman filter based mixing filter is used to integrate kinematic satellite aided inertial navigation system with vision based measurements of five representative points on a runway in a modern receiver that incorporates carrier phase smoothing and ambiguity resolution. Using high resolution multiple stereo camera based measurements of five points on the runway, in addition to a set of typical pseudo-range estimates that can be obtained from a satellite navigation system such GPS or GNSS equipped with a carrier phase receiver, the feasibility of generating high precision estimates of the typical outputs from an inertial navigation system is demonstrated. The methodology may be developed as a stand-alone system or employed in conjunction with a traditional strapped down inertial navigation systems for purposes of initial alignment. Moreover the feasibility of employing adaptive mixing was explored as it facilitates the possibility of using the system for developing a vision based automatic landing controller.

Opis:
This paper presents Kalman filter design which has been programmed and evaluated in dedicated STM32 platform. The main aim of the work performed was to achieve proper estimation of attitude and position signals which could be further used in unmanned aeri-al vehicle autopilots. Inertial measurement unit and GPS receiver have been used as measurement devices in order to achieve needed raw sensor data. Results of Kalman filter estimation were recorded for signals measurements and compared with raw data. Position actual-ization frequency was increased from 1 Hz which is characteristic to GPS receivers, to values close to 50 Hz. Furthermore it is shown how Kalman filter deals with GPS accuracy decreases and magnetometer measurement noise.

The performance of tightly coupled GNSS/INS integration is known to be better than that of loosely coupled GNSS/INS integration. However, if the time synchronization error occurs between the GNSS receiver and INS(Inertial Navigation System), the situation reverses. The performance of loosely coupled GNSS/INS integration and tightly coupled GNSS/INS integration is analyzed and compared due to time synchronization error by computer simulation.

Opis:
This paper is to develop the position error equations including the attitude errors, the errors of nadir and ship’s heading, and the errors of ship’s position in the free-gyro positioning and directional system. In doing so, the determination of ship’s position by two free gyro vectors was discussed and the algorithmic design of the free-gyro positioning and directional system was introduced briefly. Next, the errors of transformation matrices of the gyro and body frames, i.e., attitude errors, were examined and the attitude equations were also derived. The perturbations of the errors of the nadir angle including ship’s heading were investigated in each stage from the sensor of rate of motion of the spin axis to the nadir angle obtained. Finally, the perturbation error equations of ship’s position used the nadir angles were derived in the form of a linear error model and the concept of FDOP was also suggested by using covariance of position error.

Opis:
The GPS system is widely used in navigation and the GPS receiver can offer long-term stable absolute positioning information. The overall system performance depends largely on the signal environments. The position obtained from GPS is often degraded due to obstruction and multipath effect caused by buildings, city infrastructure and vegetation, whereas, the current performance achieved by inertial navigation systems (INS) is still relatively poor due to the large inertial sensor errors. The complementary features of GPS and INS are the main reasons why integrated GPS/INS systems are becoming increasingly popular. GPS/INS systems offer a high data rate, high accuracy position and orientation that can work in all environments, particularly those where satellite availability is restricted. In the paper integration algorithm of GPS and INS systems data for pedestrians in urban area is presented. For data integration an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) algorithm is proposed. Complementary characteristics of GPS and INS with EKF can overcome the problem of huge INS drifts, GPS outages, dense multipath effect and other individual problems associated with these sensors.

Opis:
The latest solutions concerning inertial navigation systems are presented in the paper. INS sensors can be easily bounded up with GPS system to build integrated navigation system. Since INS devices can work in situations where there is a GPS signal degradation, they seem to be ideal supplement and potential choice for navigation systems. For certain, this technology will realize all the requirements concerning: getting high accuracy, reducing weight and costs and above all - increasing reliability of working. Fast development of MEMS sensors will for sure be up to all these requirements and in the near future they will be definitely used in complete car navigation system.
