    Background: There are many studies on software development teams, but few about the interactions between teams. Current findings suggest that these multi-team systems may have a significant impact on software development projects. Aim: The objective of this exploratory study is to provide more evidence on multi-team systems in software engineering and identify challenges with a potential impact on software quality. Method: A non-participatory approach was used to collect data on one development project within a large telecommunication organization. Verbal interactions between team members were analyzed using a coding scheme following the Grounded Theory approach. Results: The results show that the interactions between teams are often technical in nature, outlining technical dependencies between departments, external providers, and even clients. Conclusion: This article hypothesizes that managers of large software project should (1) identify external teams most likely to interfere with their development work, to (2) appoint brokers to redirect external requests to the appropriate resource, and to (3) ensure that there are opportunities to discuss technical issues at the multi-team level. Failure to do so could results in delays and the persistence of codebase-wide issues.

    Opis:
    The assignment of workloads to production equipment is one category of planning decision for an electronics assembly factory. In practice, line balancing requires not only selecting machines with sufficient placement accuracy and feeder capacity, but also addressing a host of other operational objectives and constraints. Motorola Labs led a multi-year effort to apply mathematical programming to balance a variety of production mix and volume scenarios. By representing the optimization problem as a specially structured, mixed linear-integer program, we were able to incorporate a high degree of reality in the model, simultaneously optimizing fixed setups, handling custom parts, maximizing machine uptime, and mitigating secondary bottlenecks. This paper presents the story of how we developed and deployed a software solution that significantly improved assembly cycle times, setup changeovers, and overall factory productivity, saving the company tens of millions of dollars.

    The fundamental purpose of this article is to present the results of analysis the level and structure of equity of the selected companies quoted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The empirical investigation are aimed at verification of the hypothesis which assumes that on the forming of book value of equity of the joint-stock exchange companies mainly influenced by the value of the resource capital, which the share in the equity in the meaning way is prevailing above the share capital of. The empirical investigations have been preceded by the theoretical deliberations upon the role and meaning of the structures of equity in the joint-stock companies.

    Przeznaczenie pomieszczeń eksploatowanych przez lata ulega zmianie. Wymaga to często wykonania odpowiedniej adaptacji również posadzki przemysłowej. Może się jednak okazać, że podczas prac wykonawczych pojawią się błędy, którym trzeba szybko zaradzić. Opisany przypadek dotyczy modyfikacji metody adaptacji posadzki przemysłowej, w celu uzyskania jak najlepszego efektu, przy zapewnieniu właściwej skuteczności i trwałości zaproponowanego rozwiązania.
    The purpose of rooms which have been used for years is subject to change. This often requires the appropriate adaptation of the industrial floor as well. It may turn out, however, that during the execution works there will be errors that need to be quickly corrected. The described case concerns modification of the method of adaptation of industrial flooring in order to obtain the best possible effect, while ensuring proper effectiveness and durability of the proposed solution.

    Application of methods and tools of industrial engineering is from our experience often disconnected from the strategy and core activity of the company and this influences the possibility to get synergic effect for entrepreneurship and for all stakeholders including environment and future. For capturing the synergies, it is imperative to implement system approach on the all levels of management and to create innovative environment. Objective of papers is twofold. Firstly, it gives a comprehensive overview of the most used methods and tools in industrial engineering to improve quality and effectiveness in context the sustainable development. Secondly, it gives a deep insight in application of before introduced methods in companies in Slovakia featuring discussions on cross-disciplinary cutting policy issues from the management perspective, such as economical, environmental and societal impact on the stakeholders and environment.

    Opis:
    The cement industry has been using waste as a raw material for many years. Waste is also used as alternative fuel. Cement plants are an important element of the waste management system and fit the idea of a circular economy. When waste is recovered in the cement production process, direct and indirect CO2 emissions are partially avoided. This article discusses the cement industry in Poland. The current situation in terms of the use of alternative fuels and raw materials in Poland, the different types of waste and the amount of waste used is discussed. The article discusses changes in the amount of waste (the increase in the amount of waste used as raw materials from the year 2006 to the year 2019) and the types of waste recovered in the cement production process and the possibility of closing material cycles on the plant scale (recycling to the primary process – cement kiln dust) and industry (using waste from other industries: metallurgy – granulated blast furnace slag, iron bearings; energy production – fly ash, reagypsum/phosphogypsum, fluidized bed combustion fly ash, and fluidized bed combustion bottom ash; wastewater treatment plants – sewage sludge, etc.). The analysis shows that the role of cement plants in waste management and the circular economy in Poland is important. Industrial waste from metallurgy, power plants, heat and power plants, wastewater treatment plants, and municipal waste is used as the raw material for the cement industry, leading to an industrial symbiosis.
    Przemysł cementowy od wielu lat wykorzystuje odpady przemysłowe i komunalne jako surowce mineralne oraz energetyczne. prowadząc do symbiozy przemysłowej. Cementownie są ważnym elementem systemu gospodarki odpadami i wpisują się w ideę gospodarki o obiegu zamkniętym. Odzysk odpadów w procesie produkcji cementu przekłada się na częściowe uniknięcie bezpośredniej i pośredniej emisji CO2. W artykule omówiono zmiany ilościowe stosowanych odpadów (wzrost ilości odpadów wykorzystywanych jako surowcew latach 2006–2019), jak również rodzaje odpadów poddanych odzyskowi w procesie produkcji cementu oraz możliwość zamknięcia obiegów materiałowych na skalę zakładową (recykling w ramach procesu pierwotnego – pył z pieca cementowego) i przemysłową (wykorzystywanie odpadów z innych gałęzi przemysłu: hutnictwo – granulowany żużel wielkopiecowy, dodatki żelazonośne; produkcja energii – popiół lotny, reagips/fosfogips, popioły fluidalne; oczyszczalnie ścieków – osady ściekowe itp.). Przeprowadzona w artykule analiza wskazuje na istotną rolę cementowni w systemie gospodarki odpadami i gospodarce o obiegu zamkniętym w Polsce.

    Opis:
    Large floors of industrial enterprises, warehouses, stores, and shopping centres are quite heavily loaded with production technologies, transport mechanisms, stored material or shelf stackers. Regarding simple reinforcement and construction, industrial floors have been used in recent decades mainly reinforced with fibres from so-called fibre-reinforced concrete. Most slab failures are caused by extreme loads on the unbearable subsoil, a small amount of fibres, or by the shrinkage of concrete due to insufficient structural design of sliding, shrinking and expansion joints. Recently, however, in several constructions, structural failures have occurred caused by a volume-unstable subsoil in the form of a mixture of slag or metallurgical debris. The article deals with some failures of fibre concrete floors in practice, their methods of diagnostics and laboratory analysis of samples. The results are supplemented by practical examples of floor failures with respect to their origin.

    W artykule przedstawiono proces prywatyzacji przedsiębiorstwa państwowego na przykładzie wybranego przedsiębiorstwa przemysłu lekkiego w regionie tarnowskim. Omówiono istotę i przyczyny restrukturyzacji polskich przedsiębiorstw ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem branży przemysłu obuwniczego. Podkreślono zaangażowanie zatrudnionych podczas procesu prywatyzacji analizowanego przedsiębiorstwa. W konkluzji zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie procesu prywatyzacji w zaadoptowaniu się przedsiębiorstwa do warunków gospodarki rynkowej.
    The article presents the privatisation process carried out in the selected state-owned company from Tarnów region. It points out the features characteristic for the period of the developing free market economy, with particular focus on the footwear branch of the light industry. The paper describes big commitment and involvement of the employees during the privatisation process. The final conclusions highlight the importance of the privatisation process in a company adjustment to the requirements set by the market.

    Artykuł zawiera charakterystykę rozwoju przemysłu spirytusowego w Polsce w latach 1991-1998 przez pryzmat Polmosu Białystok. Działalność innowacyjna Polmosu Białystok koncentrowała się na udoskonalaniu już istniejących produktów oraz na wprowadzaniu do swojej oferty nowych wyrobów. Uzupełnieniem innowacji produktowych w przedsiębiorstwie były innowacje w zakresie sprzedaży. Dotyczyły one znalezienia nowych kanałów zbytu oraz wprowadzenia nowych form promocji.
    The paper presents the characteristics of the alcohol industry segment in last six years basing on the example of "Polmos" Białystok. In the author's opinion in order to survive on the distillery industry market there are the following indispensable conditions: marketing research, a permanent promotion of new products, attractive packaging and ultimate quality. Innovation is considered to be one of the main elements to compete with Western companies. The paper thoroughly analyses the process and ways of developing of a new product as well as changes regarding the sales. The research shows motives of introduction of new product innovations that first of all come from competition on domestic market.
