Opis:
The paper presents a concept, a construction, a circuit model and experimental results of the double-rotor induction motor. This type of a motor is to be implemented in the concept of the electromagnetic differential. At the same time it should fulfill the function of differential mechanism and the vehicle drive. One of the motor shafts is coupled to the direction changing mechanical transmission. The windings of the external rotor are powered by slip rings and brushes. The inner rotor has the squirrel-cage windings. The circuit model parameters were calculated based on the 7.5 kW real single-rotor induction motor (2p = 4). Experimental verification of the model was based on comparison between the mentioned single-rotor motor and double-rotor model with the outer rotor blocked. The presented results showed relatively good compliance between the model and real motor.

Opis:
This article contains a pulsating torque calculation of 3-phase induction machine with power 1.1 kW from electromagnetic field. Whole analysis is done by finite element method in ANSYS. The torque is calculated via a circular path integral of the Maxwell stress tensor. The Maxwell stress tensor provides a convenient way of computing forces acting on bodies by evaluating a surface integral.

Opis:
This paper deals with the optimization of cooling of electric machines using Ansys Workbench. In many areas of electrical machines are increasingly used optimization methods to achieve greater performance and improved efficiency of the individual parts of electrical machines. These methods are very often connecting to computer programs such as Ansys, in order to obtain the best results. The program Ansys Workbench is several optimization algorithms that can be connected to the analysis of any group of physical fields. This allows other programs without the need to achieve optimal results in the design of electrical machines. This article specifically addresses the application of these algorithms for the adaptation of design changes the fan induction motor. Optimization was used to size the fan blades to achieve the greatest possible pressure coolant. The main dimensions of this design are limited fan induction motor and therefore are not optimized. The article discussed the results of this optimization, and also summarizes the main advantages and disadvantages of using this procedure.

Opis:
The paper analyses the rise of higher space harmonics in three-phase and five-phase induction machines. The results of the analysis show that there is a group of harmonics which are associated with symmetrical components of phase currents. In five-phase machines, the spectrum of higher harmonics assigned to the component which generates the operating torque is shifted to higher orders. Due to this fact, the five-phase machines have several advantages compared with the three-phase machines. These advantages are apparent mainly in a steady-state operation at symmetrical feeding. The five-phase machines have, however, also improved properties in transient and fault states. This fact is shown at the example of operation of three-phase and five-phase machines after the two-phase short circuit at the terminals of two neighbouring phase stator windings. In this case, the five-phase machine can, for a short time, operate with a rated load, while a three-phase machine is not able to generate sufficient torque and the rotor speed rapidly decreases to the standstill.

Opis:
The use of induction machine spatial saliencies for sensorless vector control in the proximity of zero electrical frequency has been extensively researched over the last few decades. A robust technique to extract machine saliencies is called voltage step excitation, and it computes a saliency phasor out of phase current derivatives resulting from specific voltage steps generated by the inverter switching. Within the saliency phasor, all machine saliencies appear superposed. For some machine constructions, multiple saliencies are present, containing information about the spatial, magnetic and geometric state of the machine. Due to its direct relation with the rotor angle and its high accuracy, rotor slotting saliency is often chosen as the sensorless control signal. In order to exclusively access rotor slotting, saliency separation needs to be carried out, with the goal of eliminating all non-control saliencies from the saliency phasor. In this research, feedforward harmonic compensation based on look-up tables (LUTs) is chosen. The idea is to estimate each saliency in relation to amplitude and phase shift once, store such information in a torque-dependent LUT and use it for feedforward compensation. Yet, several saliencies are linked to the rotor position and, thus, the stored phase shift in the LUT is fixed to a defined rotor position at which the saliency estimation was performed. For the feedforward compensation to work during each sensorless start-up, an initial rotor slot detection must be carried out. This paper presents a technique to estimate initial rotor angle based only on the inherent characteristics of the induction machine multi-saliencies and an iterative feedforward compensation process that requires no extra resources and only a few PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) periods to achieve initial slot rotor angle. Experimental results measured at two different test benches prove the high accuracy of the method.

Opis:
The paper presents the influence of an asymmetry of a stator winding on an axial flux in AC machine. The objective research was performed for selected values of asymmetry. The axial flux was calculated as the sum of flux linkage with stator winding. In order to achieve a magnetic field distribution a dedicated 2D finite element model of AC machine was elaborated. The waveforms of axial flux and torque-time characteristic have been shown. It can be concluded that the asymmetry has significant impact on the axial flux and the pulsation of torque.

This paper presents the results of the DFG-project (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) Q-ELF (“Qualitätsorientierter Methodenworkflow für die Produktneuentwicklung eines Linearantriebs in der Fördertechnik”) carried out in cooperation of the TU Dortmund University (support code KU 1307/12-1) with the BUW Wuppertal (support code WI 1234-11/1). The project continues the former project SFB 696 (Sonderforschungsbereich) regarding the Demand Compliant Design (DeCoDe) and the corresponding system model that strengthens the knowledge management to create high-quality mechatronical systems. In contrast to the SFB, which comprised the reverse engineering of a belt conveyor, Q-ELF applied a workflow of methods for quality oriented development on a new product. The DeCoDe ensures a methodical development that connects different engineering domains. This connection is important because the most problems and malfunctions arise at the interface of different domains due to their different notations for example. This approach also enables a methodical comparison of different competing concepts to pick the best suited one. A genetic algorithm is presented to further decrease the design-space. The project was carried out to develop linear drives for intralogistic systems.

Opis:
In this paper, we propose sensorless backstepping control of a double-star induction machine (DSIM). First, the backstepping approach is designed to steer the flux and speed variables to their references and to compensate uncertainties. Lyapunov”s theory is used and it demonstrates that the dynamic tracking of trajectories tracking is asymptotically stable. Second, unfortunately, this law control called sophisticated is a major problem which leads to the necessity of using a mechanical sensor (speed, load torque). This imposes an additional cost and increases the complexity of the montage. In practice, this variable is unknown and its measurement is expensive. To restrain this problem we estimate speed and load torque by using a Luenberger observer (LO). Simulation results are provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed approach in high and low variable speeds and load torque disturbance.

Opis:
There are many problems in practical diagnostics of high-power, squirrel-cage induction machines, operated in industrial conditions. These problems make the diagnostics a difficult matter. The problems appear already at the stage of gathering diagnostic signals. The only practically accessible signals are the currents on secondary sides of current transformers monitoring supply currents of separate machines. Due to the proximity of other conductors, carrying high currents, these signals are sometimes accompanied by heavy background noise. The next stage of the diagnostic procedure is off-line analysis of registered signals referring to investigated objects. The main problem at this stage is proper interpretation of gotten results, especially in the cases where determination of the cage state, of investigated machines, is difficult due to ambiguity of diagnostic signals. The ambiguities and doubts by taking diagnostic decision result from that the diagnostic-like signal could be generated not only by cage damage but also by slightly asymmetrically manufactured rotor cage. In such difficult cases, the many-year diagnosing experience is the indispensable precondition for proper diagnostic verdict. The present paper includes some reports on case studies encountered during practical diagnoses of high power, 6kV induction machines, operated in real industrial conditions.
