    Opis:
    The aim of this article is to present an analysis and evaluation of the warehouse management on the example of a given logistics centre. For this reason it was necessary to develop a high flexibility method. It allows selecting appropriate dependencies adapted to both the aim of a control and the specific nature of a tested object. This is due to the availability of numerous measures and logistic indicators of different characteristics and information capacity.
    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie analizy i oceny gospodarki magazynowej na przykładzie wybranego centrum logistycznego. Z tego względu do analizy i oceny koniecznym było opracowanie metody, która będzie się charakteryzowała dużą elastycznością. Pozwala ona na dobór odpowiednich zależności dostosowanych zarówno do celu kontroli, jak i samej specyfiki badanego podmiotu. Wynika to z dostępności wielu mierników i wskaźników logistycznych o zróżnicowanej charakterystyce oraz pojemności informacyjnej.

    Opis:
    Text retrieval using Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) with truncated Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) has been intensively studied in recent years. However, the expensive complexity involved in computing truncated SVD constitutes a major drawback of the LSI method. In this paper, we demonstrate how matrix rank approximation can influence the effectiveness of information retrieval systems. Besides, we present an implementation of the LSI method based on an eigenvalue analysis for rank approximation without computing truncated SVD, along with its computational details. Significant improvements in computational time while maintaining retrieval accuracy are observed over the tested document collections.

    Opis:
    In this chapter, information on good laboratory practice in the field of structural powder diffractometry has been collected. The authors attempt to describe how to plan a measurement, how to find the cell parameters, how to build a model of the structure, and how to refine and verify it. There are many methods and procedures which lead to solving a crystal structure. However, the experience of recent years shows that, in the case of many materials, an investigator has to attempt the problem of structure solution using many different methods. The software is easily available (from ‘trial and error’ or classic to sophisticated modern approaches), as is a lot of good equipment. On the other hand, the complexity of the structures studied using powder diffraction methods is continually increasing. No description of any methods of research other than diffraction techniques is presented. We have also focused on polycrystalline materials. Amorphous substances and methods using the formalism of ‘pair distribution functions’ are beyond the scope of this paper. New methods of structural studies (including algorithms from research described in the literature, even if their applicability has been relatively slight) were treated with particular attention. In addition to the description of methods, we also collected some useful (in our opinion) information about available software and crystallographic databases.
