Pandemia COVID-19 wpłynęła na funkcjonowanie wielu grup społecznych w Polsce. W publikacjach naukowych dotyczących tej problematyki w dziedzinie nauk społecznych koncentrowano się przede wszystkim na sytuacji organizacji w kontekście pracy zdalnej i na przemianach technologicznych związanych z nowymi wyzwaniami wynikającymi z izolacji. Przeprowadzone przez Autorów niniejszego opracowania studia literaturowe pozwoliły zidentyfikować lukę w wiedzy polegającą na niewielkiej liczbie publikacji dotyczących wpływu izolacji na osoby z niepełnosprawnościami, a szczególnie na temat zmian układu sił w otoczeniu dalszym, które wpływają na życie tej grupy społecznej. Problem badawczy sformułowano w postaci pytania: Jakie są konsekwencje izolacji osób z niepełnosprawnościami z perspektywy prawnego, ekonomicznego, społecznego i technologicznego wymiaru pandemii? Wyniki analiz ukazały, że pandemia COVID-19 stanowiła wyzwanie dla systemu ochrony zdrowia osób z niepełnosprawnościami oraz doprowadziła do obnażenia wybranych słabości systemu i materializacji ryzyka dla tej wrażliwej grupy społecznej. W badaniach wykorzystano takie metody jak: przegląd literatury, analizę PEST (analiza otoczenia dalszego: Political, Economic, Social, Technological) oraz metodę analizy i syntezy.
The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the functioning of many social groups in Poland. Scientific publications addressing this issue in the field of social sciences focused primarily on the situation of organisations in the context of remote work and technological transformations associated with new challenges arising from isolation. The literature review conducted identified a knowledge gap, characterised by a limited number of publications addressing the effects of isolation on people with disabilities, particularly the shift in power dynamics in the broader environment that affects the lives of this social group. The research problem was formulated in the form of a question: What are the consequences of isolation for people with disabilities from the legal, economic, social, and technological dimensions of the pandemic? The study results revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic posed a challenge to the healthcare system regarding people with disabilities. The research methods included literature review, an opinion survey, tools, PEST analysis, and statistical analysis.

Its value resides in a comprehensive analysis, unveiling interconnections between power, economics, and the environment in the context of energy transformation.

The aim of this article is the characterization of the demographic trends taking place in Poland and the attempt to answer the question: how do they influence the security of the country? The conducted analyses of Statistics Poland and Eurostat data show that over the last few decades in Poland, the intensification and the accumulation of the following negative demographic trends can be observed: 1) a population decline, 2) an increasing number of older people (including so-called double ageing), and 3) changes in the structure of the population age. The above demographic processes determine the new demographic order which will influence almost all areas of the country operation and will permanently change the social context of individuals’ functioning and, in the future, will have an increasing impact on the defence capabilities of the country and the functioning of the armed forces.
Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka trendów demograficznych zachodzących w Polsce i próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: W jaki sposób wpływają one na bezpieczeństwo kraju? Przeprowadzone analizy danych GUS i Eurostatu pokazują, iż w Polsce na przestrzeni ostatnich dekad obserwujemy nasilenie i kumulację negatywnych trendów demograficznych: 1) procesu depopulacji, 2) rosnącej liczby osób starszych (w tym tzw. podwójnego starzenia się), 3) zmian w strukturze wieku populacji. Powyższe procesy ludnościowe wyznaczają nowy porządek demograficzny, który istotnie wpłynie niemal na wszystkie obszary aktywności państwa i trwale zmieni społeczny kontekst funkcjonowania jednostek, a w przyszłości będzie wywierał coraz większy wpływ na zdolności obronne państwa i funkcjonowanie sił zbrojnych.

Ransomware is a prime cybersecurity threat at the moment. In this paper we analyze financial implications of ransomware attacks, motivation of the ransomware victim to pay ransom, and legal, accounting and tax implications of such payment. The methodological approach used in the study is a combination of formal-dogmatic method and argumentative literature review. First, we provide an overview of all potential losses which could be incurred by the ransomware attack. Further, we analyze under which conditions is legal to pay any kind of ransom, including cyber ransom, as an organization as well as which other considerations victims should consider when deciding to pay ransom. In that respect we analyze accounting and tax implications of losses inflicted by the ransomware attack, putting special attention to the ransom payments.
Oprogramowanie typu ransomware jest obecnie istotnym zagrożeniem w zakresie cyberbezpieczeństwa. W niniejszym artykule analizujemy finansowe konsekwencje ataków typu ransomware, a także motywy zapłaty okupu przez ofiarę takiego ataku oraz prawne, bilansowe i podatkowe konsekwencje takiej zapłaty. Podejście metodologiczne zastosowane w pracy stanowi połączenie metody formalno-dogmatycznej z metodą krytyki literatury. Na początku opisujemy wszelkie potencjalne straty, jakie mogą wynikać z ataku ransomware. Następnie poddajemy analizie warunki, w których zapłata przez jednostkę organizacyjną okupu jakiegokolwiek rodzaju, w tym wymuszonego drogą komputerową, jest legalna, a także inne względy, które ofiara musi wziąć pod uwagę, decydując się na zapłatę okupu. W tym zakresie analizujemy bilansowe i podatkowe implikacje strat poniesionych na skutek ataku ransomware, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zapłaty okupu.

Russia’s continuing aggression against Ukraine is exceptional both in terms of its scale and its global implications. A peaceful and prosperous future for Ukraine, neighbouring states and indeed the entire continent, depends upon two interrelated factors. The first is Ukraine’s ability to win, with Western support, the war initiated against it by the Russian Federation under Putin. This would bring about a new global opening, ending the Moscow-Beijing anti-Western axis in world politics. The second factor is Ukraine’s ability to take advantage of the constitutional moment that will present itself as attention shifts from the military effort toward the process of state reconstruction. Presenting the situation of Ukraine in regional, historical, and global context, we draw attention to specific challenges and choices that state elites will face post-war. We explain the internal and external implications of these choices to show why Ukraine should seize its upcoming constitutional moment. Drawing on both political theory and real world examples of constitutional revolutions, we explain the factors involved in the effective exploitation of the constitutional moment. We suggest that, channelled to constructive purposes, the demands and aspirations of Ukrainian citizens may help propel the political and economic reforms needed to secure social trust and a stable future. We conclude that multi-level political and civic engagement in a new constitutional process will be indispensable for reconstructing the institutional foundations for peace, democratic governance and the rule of law in post-conflict Ukraine.

The methodology encompasses an extensive review of primary and secondary sources to elucidate the complex nature of the conflict, aiming to provide a holistic understanding of the crisis. The study highlights the significance of nuclear disarmament treaties, religious tensions, military capabilities, and international alliances in shaping the ongoing war and its broader implications.This academic study aims to comprehensively analyze the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, investigating historical events, geopolitical factors, and military dynamics. The study endeavors to provide a multifaceted understanding of this complex issue and contribute valuable insights for policymakers, scholars, and practitioners involved in navigating and resolving the crisis. Research Questions: -          Why did Ukraine relinquish its nuclear arsenal in the Budapest Treaty of 1994? -          What were the religious underpinnings influencing the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation? -          How did geopolitical factors contribute to the lead-up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine? -          What were the indicators of Russian determination to employ military force against Ukraine? -          What are the ongoing dynamics and implications of the war of attrition in Ukraine? Hypotheses/Theses:Hypothesis 1: Ukraine's decision to abandon its nuclear arsenal under the Budapest Treaty was influenced by assurances of territorial sovereignty, despite underlying skepticism about enforceability. Thesis 1: Religious identities, particularly Orthodox Christianity, have historically shaped and influenced the confrontational dynamics between Russia and Ukraine. Niniejsze studium zagłębia się w wieloaspektową dynamikę konfliktu rosyjsko-ukraińskiego, badając jego początki, podstawy geopolityczne, implikacje wojskowe i globalne konsekwencje. Wykorzystując kompleksową analizę artykułów naukowych, traktatów rządowych, doniesień prasowych i rankingów siły militarnej, badania nakreślają wzajemne oddziaływanie interesów geopolitycznych, powiązań historycznych, przynależności religijnych i strategii wojskowych, które ukształtowały trajektorię konfliktu. Metodologia obejmuje obszerny przegląd źródeł pierwotnych i wtórnych w celu wyjaśnienia złożonej natury konfliktu, mając na celu zapewnienie holistycznego zrozumienia kryzysu. This article presents a method for qualitative data analysis, which is called proxemic analysis. This method was based on a didactic method of structural analysis of narratives (Knecht & Knecht, 1992; Zirker, 1991). A proxemic analysis consists in working with data and indicating five categories in the text – actors, places, time, values, and expectations – and building them using elements, called entities. During the next stage, the researcher discovers the understanding of these categories by defining the relationships between entities. This analysis can be used on narrative texts regardless of the way in which they were obtained (unstructured interviews, diaries, memoirs, autobiographies, etc.). Interpreting the relationships between entities allows the researcher to formulate pedagogical implications, which they may use as a premise for constructing theories and/or activities. The example of the technique presented in this paper, from andragogical research, refers to the study of a life story obtained from a narrative interview.

In the article I describe the cosmic context of biological evolution and its concretization in the form of various formulations of anthropic principles (weak, strong, probabilistic, ultimate and participatory) in order to discuss selected philosophical and theological consequences of the anthropic of the Universe. The aim of the article is to answer the question whether the fact of the anthropic nature of the Universe leads to the possibility of justifying theses of an ontological, epistemological and theological nature.

La surrogazione di maternità diventa un mezzo per realizzare il desiderio di procreare e, utilizzando moderne tecnologie riproduttive, provvede alla gestazione da parte di una donna per conto di una o più persone, che saranno il genitore o i genitori del nascituro. L’articolo tenta di valutare il fenomeno nell’ottica della morale cattolica, presentando la maternità surrogata nel contesto dell’uso di tecniche di inseminazione/fecondazione artificiale in vitro e il trasferimento dell’embrione, che in genere sono un passo fondamentale della procedura. La Chiesa cattolica esprime disapprovazione per la maternità surrogata, sottolineando che essa viola la dignità umana e distorce il carattere originario della maternità/paternità. Questa pratica non tiene conto della complementarietà dei sessi, del rispetto reciproco e del diritto degli sposi a diventare padre o madre insieme all’altro coniuge. Un essere umano ha il diritto di essere concepito in un matrimonio come frutto di uno specifico atto d’amore tra gli sposi. Altrettanto, la Chiesa giudica in maniera negativa l’utilizzo delle procedure medico-tecniche che permettono il trapianto dell’embrione nell’utero in caso di surrogazione gestazionale, sottolineando che minacciano seriamente la sua sopravvivenza. Inoltre, la surrogazione di maternità è vista come procedura disumanizzante, perché tratta la madre surrogata come «strumento umano usato per fini di riproduzione».
Macierzyństwo zastępcze staje się coraz częściej używaną metodą prokreacji przy wykorzystaniu nowoczesnych technologii reprodukcyjnych. Umożliwia „odbycie ciąży” przez kobietę w imieniu jednej lub kilku osób, które będą rodzicami nienarodzonego dziecka. W artykule podjęto próbę oceny zjawiska z punktu widzenia Kościoła katolickiego, przedstawiając macierzyństwo zastępcze w kontekście wykorzystywania technik sztucznego zapłodnienia/zapłodnienia in vitro wraz z przeniesieniem powstałego zarodka do macicy matki zastępczej z zamysłem oddania narodzonego dziecka innej osobie lub parze (także dwóm osobom tej samej płci), które „zleciły” tę procedurę. Kościół katolicki wyraża dezaprobatę dla macierzyństwa zastępczego, podkreślając, że sprzeciwia się ono godności człowieka i degeneruje wartość macierzyństwa/ojcostwa. Nie bierze pod uwagę komplementarności płci oraz wzajemnego poszanowania prawa współmałżonków do tego, by stać się ojcem lub matką wspólnie z drugim małżonkiem. Pozbawia także dziecko prawa bycia poczętym w małżeństwie jako owoc specyficznego aktu miłości między małżonkami. Ta praktyka jest również postrzegana jako dehumanizująca, ponieważ traktuje matkę zastępczą jako „swoiste ludzkie narzędzie wykorzystywane do celów reprodukcji”.
Surrogate motherhood represents an increasing method of human reproduction. The surrogacy of maternity becomes a means to realize the desire to procreate and, using modern reproductive technologies, provides for the gestation by a woman on behalf of one or more people, who will be the parent or parents of the unborn child. This article attempts to address this issue by exploring the recommendations related to Catholic Church evaluation. It presents surrogate motherhood in the context of the application of artificial conception techniques, fundamental step in the procedure—artificial insemination or in vitro fertilization—whereby one woman carries a child for another (even the gay copy) with the intention that the child be handed over after birth. The Catholic Church’s stand on the matter is not in favor of surrogate motherhood. The dignity of procreation requires that a human person be brought about as the fruit of the conjugal act specific to the love between spouses. Surrogate motherhood does not take into consideration the complementarity of the sexes, the reciprocal respect for the right within marriage to become a father or a mother only together with the other spouse. Furthermore, it is dehumanizing for the gestational mother and the child—disrespectful of the dignity of both. The body of the surrogate mother is used as “a commodity” and is an example of “reproductive exploitation.”

The bloom of reports in outdoor media such as circular letter, banners, and brochures regarding the appeals in preventing Covid-19 is interesting to analyze. This study aims to describe the meaning of implicatures and the causes of implicatures found in outdoor media, namely brochures, billboards, banners, and Covid-19 circular letter in the city of Lhokseumawe, Aceh, Indonesia. The type of research used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive-qualitative approach. 30 data were taken from outdoor media from February to May 2021. The data collection technique was carried out using the listen, be free, engage (get involved), talk (Simak Bebas Libat Cakap/SBLC) technique and take notes. After the data was collected, the next step was data analysis based on the formulation of the problem, namely how the meaning of implicatures and the causes of implicatures are. The meaning of implicatures was analyzed using the equivalent method by grouping the data based on the criteria and the advanced technique used by Equalizing/Distinguishing Comparison (Hubung Banding Menyamakan/Membedakan/HBSP) technique, while the causes of implicatures were analyzed using Dell Hymes theory, namely the SPEAKING speech component. The results of this study found that the meaning of implicatures contained in external media was in the form of conventional (96.6%) and non-conventional (3.33%) implicatures with implicature meanings in form of invitations, information, and appeals. The causes of implicatures found are influenced by the background of the atmosphere, the participants, the results, the message, the tone of speech, and the form of discourse.

Wprowadzenie: Alergeny roztoczy mogą łatwo gromadzić się w materacach i na powierzchniach tekstylnych, głównie na pościeli. Zatwierdzone strategie ograniczania narażenia na alergeny roztoczy obejmują stosowanie pokrowców z certyfikowanej tkaniny barierowej. Pokrowce mogą znacząco zwiększyć komfort i bezpieczeństwo nocnego snu oraz zapobiegać występowaniu zaostrzeń alergii atopowych i astmy. Celem pracy była ocena skuteczności blokowania alergenów przez nowo opracowane tkaniny barierowe przeznaczone na pokrowce antyalergiczne. Metody: Tkaniny barierowe z włókien poliestrowo-bawełnianych z jednostronną powłoką polimerową zostały opracowane i wytworzone przez Łukasiewicz-Instytut Włókiennictwa. Skuteczność barierową opracowanych tkanin i kontrolnej tkaniny bawełnianej, przed alergenem kurzu i roztoczy kurzu domowego Der p 1, badano zgodnie z wcześniej opisaną i opatentowaną metodą.[1,2]. W skrócie: próbki kurzu domowego odsysano odkurzaczem przez badane tkaniny, a kurz i alergeny zbierano na filtrach. Po ekstrakcji filtrów oznaczono stężenia alergenu roztoczy Der p 1 komercyjną metodą ELISA. Skuteczność barierową określono jako % przepuszczalności tkanin powlekanych w stosunku do kontrolnej tkaniny bawełnianej. Wyniki: Zbadano łącznie sześć rodzajów tkanin powlekanych i wybrano jedną o najlepszych właściwościach, zapobiegających przenikaniu kurzu i Der p 1. Ten opracowany materiał (nazwany Argo Plus) charakteryzował się wysoką skutecznością barierową wobec alergenu Der p 1 (0,15 % przepuszczalności ) oraz przepuszczalnością pary wodnej i powietrza. Po 20 cyklach prania tkanina Argo Plus zachowała swoją funkcję barierową. Wniosek: Stosując naszą oryginalną metodę badania tkanin barierowych, mogliśmy wybrać materiał włókienniczy o optymalnych właściwościach barierowych, który można wykorzystać do produkcji pokrowców na pościel i materace - barierowych wobec alergernów roztoczy kurzu domowego.
Background: Mite allergens can easily accumulate in mattresses and on textile surfaces, mainly on linen. Approved strategies for reducing exposure to dust mite allergens include the use of covers from certified barrier fabric. Covers may significantly increase the comfort and safety of nighttime sleep and prevent the occurrence of exacerbations of atopic allergies and asthma. The aim of this study was to evaluate the allergen-blocking effectiveness of newly developed barrier fabrics designed for antiallergic covers. Methods: The barrier fabrics made of polyester/cotton woven structure with one-sided polymer coating were developed and manufactured by the Łukasiewicz-Textile Research Institute. Barrier effectiveness of designed fabrics and control cotton woven fabric against dust and house dust mite allergen Der p 1 was tested according to the previously described and patent method.[1,2]. In brief, house dust samples were sucked onto the tested textile material with a vacuum cleaner and the allergen was collected on filters. Following a filter extraction, the mite allergen Der p 1 concentration was determined with commercial ELISA method. Barrier effectiveness was defined as the % of permeability of tested fabrics in relation to control cotton fabric. Results: A total of six fabrics types were tested and the one with the best performance in preventing dust and Der p 1 penetration was chosen. This developed textile material (named Argo Plus) was characterized by a high barrier effectiveness against Der p 1 allergen (0,15 % permeability), but at the same time had sufficient permeability to the air and water vapor. When subjected to 20 washing cycles the Argo Plus fabric retained its barrier function. Conclusion: Using our original method for barrier fabrics testing, we were able to select a textile material with optimal barrier characteristics, which may be used to manufacture mattress covers.

In this paper, we developed a transportation model for dietary allocation to reduce the risk of overweight and obesity. Our interest was on macronutrients such as carbohydrate, fat and oil and protein diets. These diets are the chief supplier of calories used by the body to perform its metabolic activities. The maximum cost method was used to determine the optimal calories per week from the intake of high fat diet and we found that the calorie required is 478.8 Kcal and average daily required intake is 68.4 Kcal. Again, the least cost method was used to determine the optimal calories per week from the intake of low carbohydrate diet and we found that the calorie required is 681.7 Kcal and average daily required intake is 97.4 Kcal. Comparing the calories from both diets, we conclude that consumption of diet with high fat produce less calories, and hence should reduce the risk of overweight and obesity compared to the consumption of carbohydrate diet even in low quantity. Since calorie is calorie irrespective of its source, we recommend taking high fat diet than taking low carbohydrate diet to reduce the risk of overweight and obesity. The determined daily calories are the minimum calories required by the body to maintain its metabolic activities, more of it will lead to excess and accumulation in the body which will lead to overweight and obesity.

Opis:
The increasing efficiency of the transport system during the last 100 years has fuelled and sustained the unprecedented economic growth of our society. It has shaped our livestyles and influenced the development of our cities and town. At the same time it has posed several challenges to our world as the provision of transport opportunities has heavily contribuitred to the depletion of natural resources, pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, etc. Road transport in particular has had a major role into this. Several policies have been introduced during the last 50 years in the attempt to limit the impact of the transport system, but they have been effective only to a certain extent. During the last years, however, new technologies and social trends are promising to disrupt the transport system and make it substantially more efficient and more sustanable. The present paper discusses the possibile environmental impacts of some of the new technologies applied to transport, in particular highlighting how its complexity may jeopardize the possible improvements that the new technologies promise without properly governing their use.

The article presents our research on applications of fuzzy logic to reduce air pollution by DeNOx filters. The research aim is to manage data on Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process responsible for reducing the emission of nitrogen oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). Dedicated traditional Fuzzy Logic Systems (FLS) and Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Systems (T2FLS) are proposed with the use of new methods for learning fuzzy rules and with new types of fuzzy implications (the so-called ”engineering implications”). The obtained results are consistent with the results provided by experts. The main advantage of this paper is that type-2 fuzzy logic systems with ”engineering implications” and new methods of learning fuzzy rules give results closer to expert expectations than those based on traditional fuzzy logic systems. According to the literature review, no T2FLS were applied to manage DeNOx filter prior to the research presented here.
