    Artykuł przedstawia cloud computing jako model świadczenia usług informatycznych. Syntetycznie scharakteryzowano samo pojęcie. Omówiono podstawowe jego cechy, modele oferowania usług oraz modele wdrożeniowe. Zaprezentowano także wybrane dane statystyczne dotyczące rynku tego typu usług. Zasadniczą część opracowania stanowi prezentacja barier wdrożeniowych tej koncepcji. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań własnych autora oraz dokonano ich syntetycznego omówienia.
    This paper presents cloud computing as a model for the provision of IT services. It contains a synthetic view of CC. Its basic features, models of service provision and implementation models were described. The paper also presents selected statistics on the market for this type of services. The main part of the study presents implementation barriers of this concept. The results of the author’s own research were presented and synthetically discussed.

    Skuteczne i sprawne zarządzanie warsztatem produkcyjnym może zapewnić przedsiębiorstwu przewagę konkurencyjną, a eliminacja marnotrawstwa w produkcji staje się priorytetem. W odniesieniu do powyższego podjęto przegląd piśmiennictwa, którego zasadniczym celem była analiza publikacji związanych z metodą Shopfloor Management (SFM). Autorzy wybrali to narzędzie Lean Production (LP) związane z zarządzaniem wizualnym z uwagi na osobiste doświadczenie zawodowe w obszarze wdrożeń SFM w firmach produkcyjnych branży metalowej. Kolejną przesłanką wyboru SFM był zauważony i poparty badaniem literatury metodą analizy słów kluczowych niedobór publikacji w języku polskim dotyczący implementacji SFM w rodzimych przedsiębiorstwach. Przegląd literatury wykazał rosnące zainteresowanie metodą SFM w krajach wysoko rozwiniętych oraz przyrost publikacji związanych z oceną skutków wdrożeń w tych krajach, przy jednoczesnym niedoborze piśmiennictwa dotyczącego polskich firm. Znaleziona luka badawcza odnosi się do niedostatecznie zbadanych obszarów, jak te związane z metodą SFM czy cyfryzacją i automatyzacją wizualizacji danych w warsztacie produkcyjnym. Autorzy podjęli próbę uzupełnienia zaobserwowanej luki wiedzy poprzez analizę wyselekcjonowanych artykułów wraz z zestawieniem wniosków z obserwacji uczestniczącej, doświadczenia zawodowego i własnych badań naukowych. Opracowanie skierowane jest zarówno do studentów nauk o zarządzaniu i jakości, jak i praktyków wdrożeń Lean związanych z organizowaniem systemów produkcyjnych. Podjęte badania pozwoliły dokonać systematyzacji elementarnego modelu strukturalnego metody SFM, który może być podstawą koncepcyjną dla praktyków wdrożeń w Polsce. Zagadnienia zawarte w niniejszym artykule nie tylko w syntetyczny sposób porządkują i uzupełniają wiedzę dotyczącą tej metody, ale leżą również w dziedzinie zainteresowań autorów i kontrybuują w rozwój ich dorobku naukowego.
    Effective and efficient management of the production workshop can provide the enterprise with a competitive advantage, and the elimination of waste becomes a priority. Therefore, the authors performed a literature review, the main purpose of which was to analyze publications related to the Shopfloor Management (SFM) method. The authors chose this visual management tool due to personal professional experience in SFM implementation. Another reason for choosing SFM was the shortage of Polish publications concerning the implementation of this method in domestic enterprises, which the authors noticed in their study of the literature using the keyword analysis method. The literature review showed a growing interest in the SFM method in highly developed countries and an increase in publications related to the assessment of the effects of its implementation in these countries, with a simultaneous shortage of research on Polish companies. The research gap found refers to insufficiently researched areas, such as those related to the SFM method or data visualization in the production workshop. The authors attempt to fill the observed knowledge gap by analyzing selected articles and their conclusions from participatory observation, professional experience and own scientific research. The study is addressed to both students of management and quality sciences as well as practitioners of Lean implementation in the organization of production systems. The undertaken research systematizes the structural model of the SFM method, and may form the conceptual basis for Lean implementation for practitioners in Poland.

    A constant growth of interest in GSCM on the part of business practitioners creates a need to develop research within this field. One of the basic questions is why, despite numerous evidence of benefits resulting from the use of pro-environmental practices in supply chains, the level of GSCM implementations is low. Therefore, the aim of the paper is determining which barriers constitute the greatest obstacles on the way of GSCM implementation. The studies were conducted among Polish market entities. Therefore, they were prepared in the part of Europe in which there are not many studies regarding this topic. As a result of the conducted studies, it was determined that the greatest barriers for pro-environmental practices are included in the field which concerns knowledge and cost. What is more, the importance of particular barriers was specified in the paper.

    The main goal of the conducted research was to identify the factors constituting a barrier to the implementation of controlling in the retail chains. Quantitative research was carried out using a research tool, which was a questionnaire, containing closed questions addressed to employees of retail chains, mainly specialists from controlling departments, HR, managers at various levels and directors. The research was carried out in large networks with the participation of Polish and foreign capital. The results of the research have shown that the most important barrier to the implementation of controlling is the too low level of knowledge in organizations on how to implement it and the lack of adequate financial resources enabling its implementation. Due to the tightness of retail chains and the fact that up to now there were mainly barriers to the implementation of controlling in production and service units, the topic discussed in the study was considered important.  
    Głównym celem przeprowadzonych badań była identyfikacja czynników stanowiących barierę wdrażania controllingu w sieciach handlu detalicznego (na potrzeby artykułu terminy sieć handlu detalicznego oraz sieć handlowa stosowane będą zamiennie). Badanie ilościowe przeprowadzono za pomocą narzędzia badawczego, które stanowił kwestionariusz ankiety, zawierający pytania zamknięte, skierowany do pracowników sieci handlowych, głównie specjalistów z działów controllingu, HR, kierowników różnego szczebla oraz dyrektorów. Badania przeprowadzono w dużych sieciach z udziałem kapitału polskiego i zagranicznego. Ich wyniki wykazały, iż najistotniejszą barierę implementacji controllingu stanowi zbyt niski poziom wiedzy na temat sposobów wdrażania controllingu oraz brak odpowiedniego zaplecza finansowego umożliwiającego jego wdrożenie. Ze względu na hermetyczność sieci handlowych oraz fakt, iż do tej pory zajmowano się głównie barierami wdrażania controllingu w jednostkach produkcyjnych i usługowych, podjęty w artykule temat uznano za ważny.

    Companies operation in variable surroundings causes the increase of customers requirements. They expect inter alia: high quality products delivered on time and low prices. Thus a lot of non-production companies decided to implement lean management concept. It results inter alia from the positive effects of using Japanese management concepts, methods and techniques, but also from “dictate”. Parent companies are implementing lean management concept in subsidiaries without appropriate preparation. The aim of this article is to present − on the basis of research results − limitations in implementing lean management concept. The author presents 5 barriers and negative results. The author pays attention to the role of management involvement in a change, that is lean management. This article shows the reasons of desired effects lack of lean management concept using based on 5 WHY analysis.

    The purpose of this research is to investigate English teachers’ perception and challenges of the implementation of ICT in ELT classrooms. This study used mixed methods, qualitative and quantitative in nature. A purposive sampling technique was used to select the study subjects, who are 26 English teachers from 16 public senior high schools in Banda Aceh. Questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. The data were analysed and interpreted through qualitative and quantitative procedures. The results showed that the English teachers found ICT very helpful in teaching. However, the limited time and tools, coupled with a poor Internet connection as well as a lack of knowledge and experience of ICT training were obstacles for the teachers using ICT. The results of this study give meaningful insights for policy makers in relation to the implementation of ICT for teaching and learning in the classroom.

    Background: The constitutive aim of this paper is to explore the barriers to effective implementation of the principles of lean management among manufacturers of parts, subassemblies and ready-made agricultural machinery. The realization of the formulated goal requires - first of all - an attempt to create a catalogue of determinants implying the leanness of a manufacturing unit. Consequently, the conceptual study of the method will be preceded by extensive analysis and systematization of the current achievements, including: on the theoretical level, the analysis of the literature being in direct relation to the subject of research; it will find its expression in the set of barriers determined in source literature on the subject that compresses the leanness of the generation unit and - on the design level - their catalogue based on the point of view of experts invited to this research. On the empirical level, it is assumed that the hierarchy of importance will be recognized for each of the determinants listed in the catalogue, and it will be determined which one constitutes the largest barrier from the point of view of enterprises invited to research (self-assessment). Methods: The interdisciplinary nature of management sciences creates problems in the selection of research methods with which one intends to describe a given problem. In empirical research, methods and research tools verified in other research are often used (directly or with some modifications). The authors of this paper also use verified methods and tools; however, the method and tools used by them will be selected in accordance with the adopted methodological concept. On the theoretical level - using the method of reconstruction and interpretation of the source literature - the authors, referring to the key principles of lean management, have selected key barriers to their effective implementation. Reconstruction and interpretation of the source literature was supported by practical experience of the authors, participant observation and creative discussion with deliberately chosen experts. The preparatory study conditioned the conduct of the proper research; the intention of the authors was to develop a form - a catalogue of barriers implying lean production, which is a tool enabling reconnaissance in the surveyed enterprises. The research will be both diagnostic and verifying in nature. It will relate to relationships between variables describing the barriers to effective implementation of lean management principles, and requirements implying leanness, identifying the reality under investigation. Results: As a result of the research, it was found that the factors that significantly determine the effective implementation of lean management principles are possession of a permanent and competent managerial and executive staff. The entrepreneurs subjected to the research indicate the absence of permanent, qualified employees who are replaced by "random" employees, which does not serve continuous improvement (gap - 1.01). In view of the foregoing, they do identify lean management with reduction in the level employment in the company. Conclusion: This publication was created as a result of reflection, research and authors' practical experience in managing the enterprises operating in the sector of agricultural machinery. It is an ambitious attempt to depict knowledge on implementation of the principles of lean management in a manufacturing company. Thanks to this, it can play the role of a scientific aid, and at the same time be a source of knowledge necessary in managerial activity. The authors hope that the presented publication will provide a new knowledge, the consideration of which may form the basis of for actions that will need to be addressed in the near future and can begin a discussion on the necessity of overcoming the limits regarding the implementation of lean management.
    Wstęp: Konstytutywnym celem niniejszej pracy jest eksploracja barier skutecznej implementacji zasad szczupłego zarządzania wśród producentów części, podzespołów i gotowych maszyn rolniczych. Realizacja tak sformułowanego celu wymaga - w pierwszej kolejności - podjęcia próby sprokurowania katalogu determinant implikujących szczupłość jednostki wytwórczej. Wobec powyższego przeprowadzenie studium konceptualnego metody poprzedzone zostanie rozległą analizą oraz usystematyzowaniem dotychczasowego dorobku, w tym: na płaszczyźnie teoretycznej analizą piśmiennictwa pozostającego w bezpośredniej relacji z tematem badań; znajdzie to swój wyraz w zestawie - zidentyfikowanych w literaturze przedmiotu - barier komprymujących szczupłość jednostki wytwórczej oraz na płaszczyźnie projektowej opracowaniu - z punktu widzenia ekspertów zaproszonych do badań - ich katalogu. Na płaszczyźnie empirycznej zakłada się rozpoznanie hierarchii ważności dla każdej z wymienionych w katalogu determinant, oraz ustalenie która stanowi największą barierę z punktu widzenia przedsiębiorstw zaproszonych do badań (samoocena). Metody: Interdyscyplinarność nauk o zarządzaniu, stwarza problemy w doborze metod badawczych, za pomocą których zamierza się opisywać dany problem. W badaniach empirycznych często wykorzystuje się (bezpośrednio lub z pewnymi modyfikacjami) zweryfikowane w innych badaniach metody i narzędzia badawcze. Podobnie postępują autorzy pracy, jednakże metoda i narzędzia zostaną dobrane według przyjętej koncepcji metodycznej. Na płaszczyźnie teoretycznej - wykorzystując metodę rekonstrukcji i interpretacji literatury przedmiotu - wyselekcjonowano, odnoszące się do kluczowych zasad szczupłego zarządzania - bariery ich skutecznej implementacji. Rekonstrukcja i interpretacja literatury przedmiotu wsparta została praktycznymi doświadczeniami autorów, obserwacją uczestniczącą oraz twórczą dyskusją wśród celowo dobranych ekspertów. Badanie przygotowawcze warunkowało przeprowadzenie badania właściwego; intencją autorów było opracowanie formularza - katalogu barier implikujących szczupłą produkcję, który stanowi narzędzie umożliwiające rekonesans w badanych przedsiębiorstwach. Prowadzone badania będą miały charakter zarówno diagnostyczny, jak i weryfikacyjny. Dotyczyć będą związków pomiędzy zmiennymi opisującymi bariery skutecznej implementacji zasad szczupłego zarządzania oraz wymaganiami implikującymi szczupłość, identyfikując badaną rzeczywistość. Wyniki: W wyniku prowadzonych badań ustalono, że czynnikami istotnie determinującymi skuteczną implementację zasad szczupłego zarządzania są posiadanie stałej oraz kompetentnej kadry menedżerskiej i wykonawczej. Poddani badaniu przedsiębiorcy wskazują na brak stałych, wykwalifikowanych pracowników, których zastępuje się pracownikami "przypadkowymi", co nie służy ciągłemu doskonaleniu (luka - 1,01). Wobec powyższego, w żadnym razie, nie utożsamiają szczupłego zarządzania ze zmniejszaniem poziomu zatrudnienia w firmie. Wnioski: Niniejsza publikacja powstała jako efekt przemyśleń, badań oraz praktycznych działań autorów w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwami działającymi w sektorze maszyn rolniczych. Stanowi ambitną próbę zobrazowania wiedzy z zakresu implementacji zasad szczupłego zarządzania w przedsiębiorstwie wytwórczym. Dzięki temu może ona odgrywać rolę pomocy naukowej, a równocześnie stanowić źródło wiedzy niezbędnej w działalności menedżerskiej. Autorzy żywią nadzieję, że prezentowana publikacja - chociaż w minimalnym stopniu - dostarczy nowej wiedzy, której uwzględnienie może stanowić podstawę działań wymagających rozwiązania w najbliższej przyszłości oraz stać się zalążkiem dyskusji dotyczącej konieczności przełamywania granic dotyczących implementacji szczupłego zarządzania.

    Author of this article expresses belife that education is an essential tool for addressing most of the socio-economic challenges. Therefore, increasing access to education for children with disabilities can open up a whole lot of new and diverse opportunities for them. Base on datas the author certifyed, that most children with disabilities in African countries do not have access to good quality education. Consequently, they are less likely to get employed and are at increased odds of living in severe poverty. Traditionally, children with disabilities have been served in special education classes. However, not all schools in African countries have special education classes or facilities. According to the latest census data from across 11 African countries many children with disabilities are never enrolled into schools. This chapter summarizes the current state of affairs regarding the educational outcomes of children with disabilities, the challenges associated with adoption of inclusive education in African schools and proposes an inclusive education framework to facilitate its implantation and to guide schools in assessing their inclusive education efforts.

    The concept of lean management in an organization, improving products and processes using the Lean Manufacturing concept, is discussed in this paper. Striving for excellence is the key factor in maintaining competitiveness on the market. Only organizations able to adapt to changing environ-mental conditions faster than others achieve an advantage, and the management in line with the Lean Manufacturing philosophy is de facto change management. In this paper, important factors in the ceramic industry, which should be taken into account when implementing Lean Manufacturing are characterized. Important factors affecting the implementation of lean tools include, such as: the size of the enterprise, involvement of employees, knowledge about the Lean concept, technological factor, type and variety of the product line, as well as the specificity of the ceramic industry. The greatest opportunity associated with the implementation of Lean is to increase the competitiveness of the company obtained through: meeting the quality and economic expectations of customers. Practice shows, however, that despite the simplicity of rules and tools, few organizations manage to achieve the level of excellence of the pioneer of this concept, the Japanese Toyota Corporation.

    Urzędy administracji publicznej znajdują się obecnie w fazie przeobrażeń, zorientowanych głównie na poprawę efektywności i jakości realizowania ich społecznej misji. Proces wdrażania zmian w urzędach administracji publicznej napotyka na wiele specyficznych dla tego sektora barier, w większości o charakterze społecznym i kulturowym. W znacznym stopniu sytuują się one na poziomie cech mentalno – kompetencyjnych zasobów ludzkich tych instytucji. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania przeprowadzonego w jednym z urzędów administracji samorządowej, którego zarząd przystąpił do wdrożenia nowego rozwiązania wewnątrzorganizacyjnego. W konkluzji artykułu stwierdzono, że istotną dysfunkcją procesu implementacyjnego było niemal całkowite pominięcie pracowników jednostki jako interesariusza zmiany. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie społecznych wyznaczników i barier zamian organizacyjnych wdrażanych w administracji publicznej na podstawie doniesień literaturowych oraz badania przeprowadzonego w urzędzie samorządu terytorialnego jednego z polskich miast. Niedocenianie partycypacji pracowniczej w procesie zmian w administracji publicznej może opóźnić przejście od silnie zbiurokratyzowanego modelu zarzadzania w kierunku nowoczesnych modeli, takich jak New Public Management.
    The objective of this article is to present the social determinants and barriers to organizational change when implemented in public administration. It is based on information provided by literature and research conducted in the offices of the local government of Polish cities. Failure to appreciate employee participation in the change process in public administration may result in delays in the passage from a strongly bureaucratic management model to more modern solutions, such as New Public Management. Public administration offices are currently going through a process of change that is mainly aimed at improving the effectiveness and quality of the performance of their public mission. This process of implementing change is encountering a multitude of barriers that are specific to the public administration sector. Most of them have social and cultural dimensions. They often involve the mental and competency characteristics of the human resources of these institutions. This article presents the results of a survey conducted in a local government office whose management has started the implementation of a new organizational solution. It concludes by stating that a major dysfunction of the implementation process was brought about by the fact that the staff was almost completely left out as a stakeholder in these changes.

    Celem artykułu jest wskazanie czynników, które obecnie utrudniają wdrożenie koncepcji marketingu relacji w polskich przedsiębiorstwach. Scharakteryzowano cztery takie czynniki: menedżerską orientację na zyski w krótkim okresie, wielkość przedsiębiorstwa, specyficzne cechy polskiej kultury narodowej oraz rosnące znaczenie Internetu jako kanału komunikacji marketingowej. Artykuł ten zachęca do przyjęcia krytyczno-konstruktywnej postawy wobec marketingu relacji jako koncepcji działań na rynku, która nie jest w pełni uniwersalna.
    The aim of the paper is to identify factors that limit implementation of relationship marketing in Polish companies. The paper discusses four factors: management’s orientation at short-term profit, companies’ size, specific features of Polish national culture and growing importance of Internet as marketing communication channel. The paper calls for critical and constructive approach towards relationship marketing as the marketing concept that is not fully universal.

    Given the importance of renewable energy as it provides alternative energy sources over the traditional fossil fuel that is environmentally friendly, clean and renewable, this research aims to explore scholarly articles and books that present and investigate the challenges and barriers facing the implementation of renewable energy sources in Libya where the social, cultural, financial and awareness aspects are an important consideration against renewable energy. This study contains a review of all relevant, peer-reviewed, and published articles from journals, websites, books, conference proceedings and bulletins. An extensive literature review was carried out with the aim of researching renewable energy in Libya. This was done to take a realistic perspective of the community and the knowledge services accessible. The review of literature has shown that further renewables energy research remains necessary as the current conditions of the energy sector in Libya need to be examined to understand the challenges and difficulties to introduce renewable energy within competent authorities and businesses are examined in accordance with their managers. This indicates the need to conduct various studies in Libya to explore the various challenges, mostly financial and technological, that face the purposeful implementation of renewable energy resources in Libya. Additionally, the level of awareness and culture perception of the use of renewable energy is an important aspect to be considered as reported as barriers affecting the implementation of renewable energy in various parts of the world.
    Biorąc pod uwagę znaczenie energii odnawialnej, zapewniającej alternatywną energię w stosunku do tradycyjnych paliw kopalnych, która jest przyjazna dla środowiska, czysta i odnawialna, niniejsze badanie ma na celu przegląd artykułów naukowych i książek, które przedstawiają i badają wyzwania i bariery stojące przed wdrożeniem odnawialnych źródeł energii w Libii, gdzie aspekty społeczne, kulturowe, finansowe i świadomościowe są ważnymi czynnikami, które nie sprzyjają energii odnawialnej. Niniejszy artykuł obejmuje przegląd wszystkich istotnych, recenzowanych i opublikowanych artykułów z czasopism, stron internetowych, książek, materiałów konferencyjnych i biuletynów. Obszerny przegląd literaturowy ma na celu zbadanie statusu energii odnawialnej w Libii. Takie spojrzenie pozwala uzyskać realistyczny pogląd na ocenę zagadnienia przez społeczeństwo oraz na dostępne w tym zakresie usługi. Wykazano, że niezbędne są dalsze badania w zakresie energii odnawialnej. Aby zrozumieć wyzwania i trudności we wdrażaniu odnawialnych źródeł energii, jakie stoją przed właściwymi organami, przedsiębiorstwami i ich kierownictwem, trzeba szerzej zapoznać się z warunkami funkcjonowania sektora energetycznego w Libii. Wskazuje to na potrzebę przeprowadzenia różnych analiz w celu zbadania wyzwań, głównie finansowych i technologicznych, utrudniających wdrażanie użytkowania energii odnawialnej w Libii. Ponadto, poziom świadomości i kulturowego postrzegania wykorzystania energii odnawialnej są ważnymi uwarunkowaniami, które należy uznać za bariery mające wpływ na wdrażanie energii odnawialnej w różnych częściach świata także w Libii.
